  1. I think that this is a brilliant idea and I'd love to see more roleplay surrounding topics like this as it gives people more things to worry about than just the Police showing up; as in certain circumstances a Bail Bondsman hunting you down can cause you more problems than the Police ever could; and it is their sole focus to get paid, which means they usually put more effort into finding you. I agree; people could just log out and not play on certain characters until things are blown over; however, the same could be said for Law Enforcement Arrest Warrants. It is an issue of common courtesy, but I feel that the bail bonds groups/factions can overcome this obstacle with their own innovation and their own means as the roleplay in this area develops. I love the idea, and I would love to see this come to GTAW at some point in the future, even if it doesn't happen straight away.
  2. This is my perspective on this topic. This is a RP server; not an RPG server. I do not want to see RPG elements on this community, and if this gets added, where do you stop? Force people to eat/drink items to raise their food/drink levels? RPG games are fun; but so are RP games. They are not the same type of games and I feel we're confusing the two concepts here. On this topic, I do see your point; but I believe that introducing the ability for narcotics to provide an overpowering benefit would just lead to a more cops and robbers attitude on this community; as everyone who is not a cop/fd/gov would just possess illegal narcotics all the time and use them, meaning interaction with Police is unfavourable and they will run from simple things which may lead to them being searched/under some suspicion for possessing items leading to more cops and robbers type interactions. TLDR - I do not support this suggestion as it's too RPGish.
  3. As people above have said. It's an issue with your savegame. If you download the savegame that is recommended, or download a save editor and edit yours, make sure to load into singleplayer before RAGE so the save properly loads and is loaded into RAGE. I used the save editor method personally for the skills and I have all the doors opening as they should.
  4. You are the person who should be setting the standards and teaching the people who don't understand how to properly roleplay. Why do I say this? Because it is a community effort to push the standards within this community ever so higher, and to offer support to those who are falling below those standards. If their attitude is of the one that they are superior and or don't care, then that is one for you to consider a report to the staff team for. With regards to tackling this PD issue regarding pursuits/play to win attitude. Police Department is held to high standards here. We have to write detailed reports on any arrests that we make, including providing evidence on occasion. It is common practice for PD to deploy Shadowplay recordings because it aids us when we are challenged on the content of our reports as to whether they are accurate. I cannot speak for everyone, but for myself, I do not adopt a play to win attitude and it doesn't bother me not whether I catch someone or they evade me. Lets talk about standards of driving. Police Officers go through the academy. They pass the academy and become accredited Police Officers on a Field Training Programme. Great, they are one step closer to pursuing you; but here's the issue, they can't. They need to undergo a SEPARATE course for how to drive an emergency vehicle properly. This course has a waiting list, and designated times and dates to attend. They have to apply, and their internal disciplinary record is looked at before accepting them. If they're a poor driver in general, they won't get on the course, etc etc. Now passing this allows you to drive a basic car, a Scout, a Victor, or a Buffalo, among a few others of a similar speed range. These vehicles are capable, but well matched to a medium type of speed of vehicle, and will get outranked in a high speed pursuit. Now; high speed pursuits are common, so the PD has developed a way of tackling these. If an Officer wants to hop into an Interceptor, they must undertake an advanced driving course which allows them to be qualified to deploy an Interceptor. Can they patrol in this Interceptor now? No, they cannot. They can only deploy it when a Departmental Supervisor gives them permission. This permission is usually given in RESPONSE to a pursuit being started, and less commonly to pre-empt a pursuit. Again, this course has scheduled times and dates, and is LESS COMMON than the basic course to undertake, while also being more difficult to pass, and your driving record is scrutinised heavily. Lets talk about Officers who want to Patrol in an interceptor, they must apply to a specialised division. This division has requirements, and standards that its members must uphold. Can an Officer who has been involved in many accidents get into this division? Likely not, same with their general driving ability. If peers have determined this to be poor, and divisional leadership are aware, they may deny a candidate for this. This division is highly skilled, and is highly capable at high speed pursuits as this is a function of their job. Furthermore, lets speak about Officers who get into accidents. What happens when you crash your high speed car? You roleplay the incident, roleplay getting your car fixed, and then jump back into it, no paperwork, no fuss. If an Officer has a crash and they are deemed to be at fault, they MUST call for a Traffic Supervisor to come down, fill out a report on the accident, deem who is at fault, record relevant details, speak to involved parties, and conduct a full investigation. This report must be written and submitted for Faction Leadership/Supervisors to review. Upon review, if this officer is deemed to have been at fault, they will have their PERMISSION to drive BASIC VICTORS/BUFFALOS/SCOUTS revoked, and be FORCED to complete a requalification on the basic driving course, waiting for the next available date and time. They are not allowed to drive like this until they are recertified and will suffer further punishments if they disregard this. Police have access to AIR units as-well for pursuits, and these are a great tool for following people. This isn't play to win, this is just how it is in reality, it's always hard to escape from Police. If you plan things well, you can evade Police, but it requires a lot of skill. Lets talk about members now; they are individual players, just like you. You are responsible for upholding these standards just as much as I am, and the rest of the LSPD, LSSD, LSFD, SFM, etc etc. If people aren't following the rules, please bring it up to the Admin Team's attention via a report, or the Faction Leadership of the faction that this individual is in. I know for a fact things are taken seriously when there is proof offered, so be sure to record these negative incidents that you have with people. I hate people who break the rules, and it saddens me further when it's a member of LSPD/LSSD/LSFD/SFM doing so, as I expect more from these members too; however, you following the rules is just as important as us, and remember, we have a bigger burden on us to follow the rules than you do. If you firmly believe members not following the rules is negatively impacting on the server, the way you will bring a change to it is not making a big topic on the forums, but by reporting these individuals WITH EVIDENCE, so that server management see the pattern, and can act on it appropriately. To put it simply, evidence is important; and many people fail to provide evidence whereby Police roleplayers usually have evidence which backs up their own counter claims. Please remember everyone is an individual and not to focus your attention towards the LSPD/LSSD/LSFD/SFM etc. as a group because while I am part of that group, I don't personally know everyone in that group and I can tell you there is bound to be some bad eggs within this group given how large it is. Do your bit, set the standards and report those not conforming to those standards, as we are bound by server rules to the same extent you are, but with added rules internally to our own factions and standards expected.
  5. I think if you have an issue with this, I'd probably ask to get the script updated with a new system regarding LTL injuries and realistic portrayal of them. I agree, not giving you a choice is poor, but that's not fault of the LSPD, that's the script, and something for server administration to consider, in my opinion.
  6. I just had a look, that CPU is 1. more powerful than the laptop one you have, and two, that other system has more RAM. The GPU is weaker, but that's not the problem in the laptop. It's entirely possible something is holding the game back. Make sure your drivers are fully updated too, outdated drivers can cause a whole load of issues.
  7. Based off of looking up your specs, it's a CPU issue. Your CPU may be bottle-necking the game. My advice would be to turn off anything else that may be eating your CPU cycles, and turning down some graphics settings may also reduce the stress on the CPU. Mobile CPU's aren't the strongest things, and it could easily be the issue. I'd advise trying to monitor your CPU usage via an overlay of some sort, and your GPU / RAM usage too. See if anything is maxed out, if it is, that's likely the cause of the issue. Try closing any background tasks that you don't need, such as your internet browser, and stuff like that. That should hopefully help your issue, if it doesn't fix it. It's possible the 8GB of RAM COULD be a limitation, but unless you monitor it, and see it use all 8GB, you can't know for sure. My money is on the CPU being the limiting factor, so you need to try shutting everything non essential down first. As others have mentioned, try V-Sync, and I'd even recommend maybe trying turning VSync on HALF your monitor refresh rate, to test if you still get these issues. (Game won't appear as smooth on this setting though, but limiting your FPS will help free up CPU cycles and hopefully eliminate a stutter problem, lower FPS is better than no FPS.)
  8. I would like to add how do the costs work out for say, that same Police Officer II playing 100 hours, compared to a Police Officer II playing for 20 hours. Is the 100 hour player going to have more costs on their paycheck, if so, wouldn't this mean a more active player is losing more money? Or are the costs capped as-well as the earnings, to make sure they still earn the same in real terms at the end of the week?
  9. I'm glad that you're reminding everyone of your values and keeping them in mind even 2 years later. I fully support your "idea" of the perfect community, and I will be here as a player to enjoy it. The environment is what I've been looking for for a long time. I've never had any issues here personally. I know others who have, but again, all the processes to me, have seemed fair and just. I appreciate you posting the administrator values for the public to see. It's good to see some of the core concepts your team are bound by in the execution of their duties. We're all looking forward to 1.5, lets see what the future holds.
  10. As long as the Clinic Roleplay is designed around drop in patients and obviously delivery of emergency patients by FD, I see no issue in the overlap between FD and a Clinic, from an outsiders perspective. I'm not in FD so I can't comment on that side of things. I agree, EMT services shouldn't be offered, but this style of clinic should be for people who want to RP more chronic illnesses, or long term problems, such as maybe a broken arm, broken leg, cancer patients, people with back pain, etc. The type of roleplay that people don't require any sort of FD involvement to portray through clinic visits, but also the FD could utilise the ability for people to realistically portray illnesses as part of their roleplay, helping to achieve a more complex and knowledgeable informed roleplay between victims and emergency responders. I promote this type of roleplay and I'm all for expanding avenues of casual legal roleplay. Best of luck to you, and hopefully FM and a moderate amount of people show interest to keep it alive for long enough for everyone to enjoy it.
  11. Looks good, it's nice to be able to visualise the popularity of the community. Great work!
  12. Yeah, this is a cool idea. We should also be able to call offline players, and get a notification that they are unreachable, with an option to leave a voicemail for them for when they next log in, they can check their voicemail too. We should have the offline SMS system, works just like normal SMS System except there's a command / text window we can bring up to view our messages. Then we could have a voicemail system, where as long as you're leaving a voicemail, you can make it as long as you could a phone call, (Up to a maximum limit to save people from abusing it ofc), and the SMS for one line quick messages. I feel the phone system will need to be refreshed, as this would work best with an SMS style log, where you can open all your previous messages, like you can on your real phone, and delete the ones you don't want to keep. Overall though, it's a great idea and I believe it'll be the most beneficial to people operating businesses, whether that be legal or illegal, people in factions, and people with large groups of friends trying to organise events and such, which can be done in a fully IC way, instead of resorting to Discord/Forums to arrange stuff when people aren't always online.
  13. They're spawned on request when you log in after a server reset. The server doesn't spawn all the vehicles on a reboot, that'd be an enormous database call and cause massive lag and potential crashing on boot.
  14. I like the concept, and I'd like to see how it goes. The city is huge, and needs a bit more life, this will help with that. It will also make people think twice about where to park their vehicles. Also discourages people from having all 3-5 of their vehicles spawned at the same time, as where do you put them! I like it, but I agree, I'm concerned about sync, but I think it's a good idea, and if sync proves to make this feature annoying, it'll likely be removed either way. I'm not concerned, I like this idea and fully support giving it a go.
