  1. Echoing these two. I've rented out a Mirror Park home before for about $8k to a single tenant, or about 14-20k when left up for automatic rent. I guess how much money you make depends on the area, but it's nowhere close to the amount of money people make daily, and it requires a lot more financial investment & mapping. I've also rented out a house in Davis and the list of tenants was always changing, with plenty of inactive people. Characters with low activity that I allowed to stay there anyway because it brought life to the area when they did play. Why would they pay a static price per week if they don't know how much they'll be playing? On my alt characters, why would I sign a rent contract at all, and why would anyone rent to me, if I don't know how much I'll play or how much money I'll make to pay rent?
  2. Still against this because of the fact that the prison is unrealistically co-ed, juveniles are in with adults, non-violent misdemeanor criminals in with max-sec murderers, and a myriad of other problems. Yes, prison activity is low and people cite not having enough SD to man the prison if everyone was separated realistically. That means accommodate for the lack of realism and allow people to keep doing their sentence offline.
  3. This got brought up a million times. The people who didn't like brands then are still very adamant about it. There's a lot of lore brands but we can also rp other brands outside of the single player lore, just like we can reference other countries, states, car makes/models, rappers, movies, and events happening in real life. There's no reason to limit ourselves like that. Branded clothing might seem like a copyright risk but the mod creators ran those risks themselves & it's not like the usage of them IG is being sold for real money.

  5. One pressing question about the devices is their range. Sure, they could reasonably listen in on any talking in a normal sized room.. But due to script limitations, that means it may hear someone speaking in /low through the wall or ceiling, in a different room or floor of the building. And anyone listening in wouldn’t be able to verify if they’re in the same room without admin help.
  6. This might work? I saw it on the commands list and assumed it's in place to allow people to find devices if they're rping cleaning their bike/car or a small, frequently used area.
  7. It's an odd problem and certain people do MG or PG learning another language fluently & far too quickly. It's also hard to prove who's quietly MG'ing the info. It gets more complex with certain languages that are part of the same group - for example someone who speaks Spanish could reasonably pick apart some Portuguese, Italian, or French. It'd be choppy, but they might understand some important words. And someone who doesn't speak Spanish might still be able to say "It sounded like Spanish or something" or understand a few specific words. The same carries over to the Slavic languages, though personally, they sound a lot more confusing, but they might be easier to tell apart if you grew up around them. It's all a mess but I'm not sure a script can solve it without creating more problems. Just PM people you think are MG'ing what you're saying.
  8. I'll just chime in to this part and say that it's 100% realistic and I've seen it happen. LAPD got a warrant on a friend's house one time because he was a dumb 16 yr old at the time and showed off a realistically-painted airsoft AK on social media.
  9. /Attributes & /Examine are already a thing and plenty of people put the age-range of their character in there. Why make it another command?
  10. +1 I wasn't aware the maintenance fees double and that could easily make even a reasonable car end up with ridiculous maintenance costs.
  11. Username: BlondeNBad Comment: What the **** happened here....also the pill's not expensive but good on them for taking care of their staff
  12. Hopefully a script could be made so running too much doesn't just down you. But having a decent level of stamina (that's not capable of endless sprinting) sounds realistic and fair, if it's tweaked like that. + Yep, I take it back. Make shooting skill 0. That bullet spread is far more realistic than laser mode.
  13. What do you suggest for those odd situations like having to run across the map within a custom interior to map it then, or when you're left in the wrong place without a vehicle, taxi, or admin? Those situations are already annoying enough, forcing you to be that strange person walking/running across the city. It's a good suggestion overall but it shouldn't let the stamina bar injure/down you, only stop you from sprinting. That just seems ridiculous so I could understand it for shooting.. guns are currently lasers. I assumed desync would make up for it since there's plenty of videos out there of people managing to miss every single shot, sometimes point blank, with the shooting ability already at 100.
  14. Disagreeing just because of the several reasons already pointed out against this. There's no reason it should be turned into an RPG-like system where you define qualities like that, something you should be roleplaying out in the first place. GTA's attribution to those stats is odd anyway. If you run out of stamina and keep running, it will KILL you. If your flying skill is low, even the slightest tap sends your helicopter flying into a fence. If your driving skill is low, even handling an easy, low-power car is annoying. Just leave it all at 100 and roleplay accordingly.
  15. Actually, sure, this works. though I still don’t think it should be enforced too harshly. I feel like most people who do this don’t leave all the furniture around out of malice. It probably just took them too much effort to place, to just remove it the exact second they don’t have it anymore. Specially if they don’t have the furniture slots to quickly add & remove it when they want.
  16. Couple reasons against this: These items are useful for many other prop/decorative reasons. Some stocks on certain guns are actively used by mappers for cabinet/drawer handles. Cocaine/table powder for sand in fishtanks/terrariums. There are many other visual uses for these things. Also, an update like this would make certain custom-mapped gun stores/ranges/airsoft arenas to need the actual item in the inventory if they wanted to have the furniture piece. This creates more problems than it solves. Furniture items should remain free for creative use.
  17. +1 on this. Having the points stack up permanently might discourage new players also. Newbie Joe and his first 2 adrenaline thrill evasions is gonna get stuck with his mistakes. And if the 1 hr+ arrest process doesn't run him off, the difficulty of the lawyer/court case system, point system, and everything else will. Meanwhile.. What this system meant to do was to stop people from stacking up felonies over and over again, and having the same character out on the street two weeks later doing the same thing. Guess what? These people don't care if they take a CK for it. They will be right back with another throwaway character to do the same thing. Rinse and repeat. All this does is hurt criminal rp in exchange for more convoluted court cases.
  18. I've seen this done for 2 complexes down in Vespucci! They look great. Though I hope the it won't drastically change some existing apartment buildings that have their own functional lobbies & elevators (the ones with far too many floors for a stairway)
  19. I figured vparking a car after a chase would count as powergaming, unless they use a garage.
  20. +1 I'm not sure people realize that when their car's chopped, the spawn location is a script problem and shouldn't be taken IC.
  21. I don't see it as a ghost town either, even though lots of people RP inside. There's still more and more people out walking, crossing roads, etc.. People are used to flying 140mph everywhere because it can really feel empty at certain hours, but they'll adjust after almost hitting 1-2 people. They're not gonna adjust overnight. Either way, NPCs would be too massive of a problem. On top of them possibly ruining RP situations, the NPC AI is actually programmed to drive horribly and cause accidents.
  22. The road disappearing is likely related to a hard drive issue.. Migrating it to an SSD might help. Either way, I'm starting to get a lot of frame stuttering too.
  23. +1 if it's possible, please. This made for some stellar screenshots of actual rp situations when it worked on GTMP.
  24. About the auctions.. It seems like a good idea but won't auctioning off every inactivity-sold house just drive the prices up as a whole? If no one's getting the inactivity-purged houses for cheap, then everyone will be throwing money at the auctions, and outbidding any normal players much more often. As far as taxes, sure it might be a nice money sink/deterrent but it shouldn't apply to every property you own. Maybe it's best to not count multi-interior properties for that tax (since they're difficult to resell, can't be custom-mapped, exterior mapped, and there's plenty of them, etc.) Anyway, there's an existing 60% price hike on the 3rd home you buy. You could add monthly taxes to those too. To most people, that's enough of a deterrent, unless you have 3m in the bank and five sports cars you park all over the lawn.. Which is the entire reason this is all needed in the first place. The new property rules should fix that soon enough if you give it a little time.
  25. Seems interesting, but it'd be a lot of extra interiors and a lot of extra steps just to get into your property. I think the Red E executive building had something like this - instead of being a single menu to select a floor/room, you select a floor and then walk around a big empty room with doors in it. I'm not sure if it's still like that, but it was a lot of extra steps just for a tiny chance to get to roleplay in the lobby of a building. You actually have more of a chance to roleplay with people at the point of the multi-interior selection menu, than you would have entering every individual lobby and floor. More of a hassle than anything..
