  3. Downtown Mogadishu, Somalia (1970s) Pre civil-war Mogadishu was known as the "White Pearl" of Africa, given its historic and cultural beach resorts with white-sand beaches along its coast. As the cold war came to an end, communist Somalia devolved into clan warfare, with civil conflict rising and tearing the country apart. Millions of Somalis escaped the warzone as refugees and asylum seekers, scattering the Somali diaspora over the globe. Los Santos The very first Somali-Americans arrived in the United States as seamen aboard fishing crews as early as the 1930s up to the 1950s. It wasn't until the early 1990s that Somalis began fleeing to the United States in considerable numbers, landing in states throughout the United states as migrants of war, making the United States the world's second largest concentration of Somalis outside of Somalia, with 300,000 Somalis inhabiting the US. Many recently migrated Somalis landed in San Andrean cities such as San Fierro and Los Santos, drawn by left-wing politicians and greater living standards. South central formed a modest concentrate of the LS Somali diaspora from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) are a small . Somali-American street crew The crew is made up of Somali kids from impoverished families who have turned to crime in order to improve their circumstances. Because the majority of Somali kids are second generation immigrants who have grown up integrated and accustomed to the American way of life, the crew operates similarly to an African-American street gang. The crew works out of the Fantastic Pl apartment complex, which is a low-income housing project in downtown LS. This group's criminal activities vary from burglary and armed robbery to more severe crimes including drug trafficking and prostitution.

  5. I agree fully with Viscaria. We should also add a limit on how much ammo criminals can hold in the inventory too to prevent them from having 5+ magazines in their inventories too.

  7. Anybody that wishes to roleplay with the faction can feel free to private-message @Lazarat for advice how to roleplay an Albanian, but all methods of recruitment is done in-character and are expected to realistically portray a character fitting to the faction. This faction has zero-tolerance for those who can't follow rules so upon joining the faction we expect you to not break the server rules. Upon joining the faction you automatically grant character kill (CK) permission to leadership if deemed fit. Questions go to @Lazarat

  8. FAMILY AFFILIATED IRISH MAFIA The Family Affiliated Irish Mafia (or FAIM) emerged in the mid-1990s out of Contra Costa County, San Andreas, headed by one Coby Philips, an associate of the Aryan Brotherhood. Beginning merely as one of many enforcement gangs that the AB utilized, FAIM branched out and began engaging in drug trafficking and distribution. This grew this influence in the Bay Area and throughout Los Santos during FAIM’s golden years, the 2000s. While the criminal enterprise has yet to see a return to the prominence enjoyed in the 1990s and early 2000s, many FAIM cells and cliques still operate freely within Los Santos and the greater Bay Area respectively. The survival of their influence followed by major arrests relied on FAIM’s subset gang, Dogtown White Boys (DWB). Los Santos FAIM members such as Weston Stigers and Roland O’Kelly used their influence within LS’ underworld to transform DWB from a street-level drug distribution gang into an effective arm of FAIM’s influence within Los Santos. Senior members of Dogtown White Boys even eventually enjoyed induction into official FAIM ranks, notably Duke Kirkman, β€œSkinny Mike”, Owen Moore and Simon Lynch. Using muscle employed from DWB, FAIM catapulted their influence throughout Los Santos in the early to mid-2010s. White, mostly Irish-American gangs became prime recruiting pools for FAIM members within the Vespucci and Vinewood areas. Once notable 1990s to 2000s punk groups, skaters, taggers and cliques became vessels for FAIM to expand their drug distribution network. β€œFuck The Rest” (FTR) is once such a crew. Originally founded by Dave Snyder during his early teens, remnant members piggy-backed off FAIM’s growing success and, and soon, many of their original members were certified FAIM members themselves with Simon Lynch’s support. In the modern era, this notably includes β€œDowner'' and Dave Snyder. Their influence manifested through local white gangs, such as GreenMeansMoney (amongst other names), who aided β€œDowner'' and Snyder in becoming suitable FAIM picks. While the group occasionally stays in contact with each other, most members have moved on with their lives; few have maintained their original hardcore lifestyle. Many crews, such as GMM, have been used and abused by FAIM members in their bid for influence in LS’ drug trade, with very few gaining notable influence within the organization, and even less earning induction to its ranks. One clique, however, managed to gain membership and considerable influence in a historically short amount of time. β€œMoneyKeepsStackin” / β€œMyKrewSteps” (MKS) is a clique within the Hawick-Vinewood area, which initially served at the bottom of FAIM’s drug hierarchy. Initially a skating and tagging crew founded by childhood friends Carter Rose, Cody Miller and other youths in their early teen years. MKS quickly became involved in the drug trade as the group approached adulthood, contributing greatly to the rise of home invasions, drug-related convictions, and firearm-related convictions within the greater Vinewood area. The group gained state-wide attention following the fatal shooting of Deputy Sheriff Josefina Villobos. A remarkable amount of members have gained full induction, or at least close affiliation with the core structure of FAIM, and remains a notable element of their influence in Los Santos. Now, in the early 2020s, FAIM controls a considerable amount of the drug trade in predominantly white neighborhoods, supplying several criminal enterprises directly or indirectly. While many of FAIM’s core membership in Los Santos has stayed out of the spotlight in recent times, the influence that they wield over the Irish-American community, and the Peckerwood community at large in San Andreas cannot be understated. OOC Information: We strive to portray a rendition of the Family Affiliated Irish Mafia. While it is not a fictional group, their expansion into the Los Santos County is purely fictional and does not reflect on real events. We also strive to uphold a high standard in regards to our members and the faction itself, by upholding a one-strike policy for all of our members. We highly encourage those interested to research on FAIM, as well as white criminal groups before going forward with their characters. This faction is invite only. If you are interested in roleplaying with us, or have any queries and/or qualms, please forward them to myself, @Mooseiclesor @carga.

  10. For the sake of transparency, so far: 200 people have voted. - 16 want more nightclubs. - 26 want more stripclubs. - 32 want more bars. - 156 want more unique item shops. - 54 want more mechanic garages. - 60 want more car dealerships. - 44 want more casinos. - 80 want more pawnshops. Specifically for unique item shops I have seen: - FOOD - this is a big one, lots of restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, diners - More activity-related places. Such as, I am assuming, games you could probably play on your web-browser with a different player and RP it in game at the same time. Might be a bit hard for one monitor users. Or even... businesses that 'provide' activity. Boat tours, scuba tours, renting out AVs, dune buggies, etc (this is possible, but you have to come to me πŸ™‚ and we can work something out). - Comic book stores, bookstores, libraries. - PM did discuss having an 'NPC' owned library opened to the general public, but it was mostly just memes. We will look more into this though as quite a few of you brought it up. - GoKarts was brought up - we have two right now. I will check for activity, but one was just given out a leasing cycle ago, and I don't like to put pressure on it of getting it up and running right away as they may need a few things from me first (cough they do cough, they should reach out to me, cough). - Airsoft was also brought up. I think we have 3 or 4 - will check for activity on this as well. Also, if you personally have any way of helping the roleplay quality with paintball games, come see me. I can't always be on and monitoring it - so if you have some good ideas, I'd appreciate it. - Car dealerships seem to have a bit of a complaint on them, I will be cracking down the hammer on them and sorting that all out soon enough - appreciate the feedback. - Arcades and bowling alleys were brought up a few times. - Massage parlors, sport businesses such as... selling tennis/golf/basketball goods/hunting goods? Or promoting getting teams together for this? Scriptwise, it's not supported (playing the game), so that won't be a big thing for people to do right now. - Art galleries has been brought up too. - Events that promote audience sales and they sit to watch said event. This is a hard one - I know it doesn't always work out because people won't show up sometimes. However, I did go to an event like this, twice actually, when I wasn't a staff member and absolutely loved it. - 'Building a community' type of business - I think I need a bit more expansion on it. Churches? Mosques? Libraries? People to go around that specific area as a 'general' hang out area but able to get something out of it if they wanted? - Medical clinics - I do know Property Management is trying to make sure PHMC is the main source of this as we don't want to pull from their RP as it's already pretty low from people wanting to RP gunshots, therapy sessions, etc. However, I do have a medical clinic available under leasing - if you want to specialize something with it, come talk to me πŸ™‚ - Occult stores - Moreso businesses that cater to 'everyday' needs - pharmacies, bookstores, fast food joints, grocery stores, supermarkets. This is a good idea. I know that some more script items were added to 24/7s - however, if you want to run a grocery store and have that script, but also a unique item script for milk - we can make this happen too. You just won't own the 24/7 script, only the unique. - Charter fishing, sky-diving (I believe parachutes are still screwed up). - Cafe but strictly not selling coffee, this player hates coffee, give them some juice or something. - Gift shops - could sell gift cards, flowers, etc. That would be a cute idea, I know Viscaria had a giftshop like that before they were a staff member and their business was always poppin'. This is roughly what other people have stated they wanted it. I made it visible for everyone to see because some people want ideas. Some people want to see what the playerbase wants. This, by no means, means that if you try to apply for a different type of business (unique mostly) that it will get denied. It's just to put out the type of businesses people would like to see, that's all. If you want to open up a loan company, go for it man. If you want to.. I don't know, own a laundromat, go for it. I hope this list provides some insight, it has to Property Management for sure. We do have the item-scheme thing now where you can hit us up to create goods/recipes for you so you can sell it via food truck, on the streets, wherever. for more information on that, shoutout to Lomadias for implementing it: Also, there will be another thread coming up and soon about how Property Management can promote businesses and promote players getting businesses and having roleplay in the server. I know a few reasons already, we are trying hard to fix it or to at least come to a compromise. Stay tuned for that! I will still be monitoring the survey for the next week or so, but I appreciate those who have already voted. It means a lot, and we are truly trying to better the server for you guys!

  11. As part of this, it is probably best to turn ammo into needing to be put into magazines using the new container system, and limit the amount of magazines one can feasibly carry without proper webbing. After all, it should be difficult to carry 6 magazines for your AK-47 also, yes? It does go both ways, I believe. If the cop can't put more mags in the pocket of their cargo pants, then you can only stuff so many AK-47 magazines in your hoodie. I believe a rebalance on both ends would be suitable.

  14. Apartment complexes do, indeed, have hallways that cops will, indeed, chase people through. Unless the mapping team wants to take the time to map every complex with lobbies, halls, and doors, a solution is required, because we have and will continue to sit at scenes for an hour+ waiting for either an admin to take our /report for a K9 track, a suspect to tell us what apartment they ran into, or both of the above. You cannot walk into a door with 6 cops directly behind you and disappear up to the 7th floor of a building without there being some indication of that. It is P2W in the criminal's direction, because if we: do not have their name, or they are: renting the building, as such not showing up on the MDC, We simply lost them. For people who shoplifted, sure, not a big deal. For 7x copkillers who can /unmask and walk out 20 minutes later? Bit of a bigger issue. 'Just put up a warrant' does not work. If they steal a car, or report their own car stolen, wear a mask, and gloves (not even mandatory), we have no leads as to who they are, because we're working with a fucking LA noir detective investigation kit, and very *rarely* a few cameras. But again, wear inconspicuous clothing and a mask, and you're golden unless you're directly caught in the act. This is where that issue comes from. Hot pursuit. Not suspects with a name. Suspects who shot someone, have no tags on their car, have a mask on, and have a hot gun on their person. Those are the ones we would chase into apartments.
