  2. Pretty sure nobody besides people in the fire marshals actually like the fire marshals. I remember waiting to coordinate with a fire marshal to have an inspection done because for some reason none were around in the NA timezone. Let alone the fact that players are forced to visit a random website, set their account up, all just to do some pointless bureaucracy that doesn't add much roleplay whatsoever. What fun and enjoyable RP has come for fire marshals out of doing inspections of businesses, genuinely? Who enjoys it? Think the most fun thing for them is getting to shut down businesses and put up roadblocks to roleplay behind days of waiting just to get an inspection done (because god forbid they come in and do it right there on the spot, you HAVE to fill out their forms). Not trying to bash the individuals playing within the faction, but I think even the lifeguards had more going for them in terms of substance and use for the playerbase at large.

  4. Going into peoples driveways and fining their legally parked cars with insurance violations while they are asleep makes you a clown, you're not providing them roleplay, you're just being a goon. Touch grass. Also, needing to call the fire Marshals when you open a businesses is an unenjoyable overly bureaucratic process. @ me if you actually had fun placing 15 fire extinguishers in your property, filling out a form, and waiting a week for these guys to show up. If Fire Marshals did not exist the server would be a better place. I'd pay taxes to not have Fire Marshals.

  5. ** A random Craigslist Advertisement pops up on your phone from user REAC** 1202 Armadillo Avenue, found in Sandy Shores - fence is broken out front. Trailer probably needs a pressure-washer wash down, need this trailer out of my hands ASAP. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room. Very cramped, but can be a good home to a good person. Pictures provided below. Pictures: (( Please don't mind the /aduty in the screenshots ๐Ÿ™‚ )) Bidding starts at 15k. Buyout is 60k. (( This is a NPC real estate agent, dictated by Property Management. If you're not wanting to put your character name in the bidding itself, please forum PM me it. If you're not a county roleplayer, if you're not wanting to mainly RP in the county, and if you're mostly city based for now with your roleplay - you will be denied. This trailer can ONLY be sold back to Property Management only. The roleplay will be as is: I will accept the bid, a background check to be made (checking assets and whatnot) and if 'approved' it will be said so. If not approved, the bid will be denied based on the background check not going through and the next player in line will get the chance. This is being done to try to get more properties out to the players who need them and do not need to waste a ton of money. Please state bid amount and character name only. )) (( PINFO: ))

  7. Was Dep Chief of SFM. On the LEO stuff? You're simply not allowed as LFM did not want you interrupting PD roleplay. Even basic 'patrol' was frowned up. There's a reason SFM used to be primarily alt characters because the leash was pulled tightly. I was the one that requested the watch-towers for SFM to have firewatch as a thing so they could actually do some patrolling and not just respond to arsons / paperwork generators for businesses. I definitely agree there was a huge missed opportunity to not make the scope larger for SFM, but again, that's not the Chief - that was LFM pulling the reigns. Here's the issue - if you approach SFM instantly off the bat as aggressive like 90% of players do? They're not going to treat you kindly in return because you've essentially ruined their RP for the sake of your character being pissed off at people simply doing their job. Can't tell you how many businesses I went to where we were just insulted instantly when trying to engage in pretty chill and friendly RP. Nearly every single inspection we were met with hostility for simply doing a job. Try show a little courtesy to the people who really enjoy SFM roleplay and maybe don't shit on them for just merely existing. They want to have fun, just as much as you and can actually provide you with a cool little experience if you play along with them. Most people you find in SFM and LSFD are incredibly knowledgeable about their roleplay. The same can be said with LSFD medical scenes, if you take the time to actually engage with these roleplayers and not just see them as something in the way of your roleplay, you'll have a lot better time and maybe learn a little thing or two along the way. Arsons are primarily the SFM's focus and trust me, there's a lot of them that most people don't know happens. Often SFM are left with very little to work with off with arson scenes and whilst I'm not with them anymore, the people involved actually really care about providing a really authentic experience - it's just people don't give them the time of day to actually -want- to RP with them, so they get forced into their little self-contained bubble. SFM and LSFD have been a huge missed opportunity, in my opinion, and not through fault of their own. The scope was narrowed too much and the freedom to let these departments actually create something really great to engage with hasn't been awarded to them and they deserve it. SFM and SAPR even briefly discussed a merge of some sorts until that was shut down, to. Jordan Wright is a hell of a guy, bringing up his age or whatever is the dumbest shit I've seen because I've seen the difference in where SFM was to where it currently is - just because you don't want to engage with them doesn't mean they don't provide good shit. From where the department was when I was in it to where he's brought it today should be heavily commended. But again, if your concern lies more around his age rather than maybe taking a look at the work he's done and does behind the scenes - that's on you.

  8. 13 May 2022 โ€” Illegal Faction Management What is Illegal Faction Management doing? Since July 2021, we have been looking at the "drug crisis" and offering other methods of enabling people outside of a supplier role to access lower grade narcotics in order to enhance roleplay. We have since opened schemes/requests for crack cocaine, mushrooms, methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription fraud schemes and, a few trials for other areas of narcotics to be produced. In July 2021, total monthly consumption for drugs was 9648. In April 2022, total monthly consumption for drugs was 23270. This is a 141% increase. It is safe to say we achieved the goal of bringing back the relevancy of drugs. In recent months, there has been a spike of abuse - for example the infamous "drug stacking", not to be confused with realistic polydrug concoctions. This drug system was also developed with few fingers in the pot from Illegal Faction Management. This system is currently being planned an overhaul with all changes, when the plan is finished a "rough timeline" can be released but for now the age old, "we're looking into it" is going to have to do. Development and Modding have been excessively supportive of changes to be released to the illegal community, as seen in recent change logs. @St3fan[NL] sweated over a new container system that will drastically improve the roleplay around drugs especially, but also other aspects of roleplay. He also added UI support for weaponry after suggestions from the illegal community with the new UI changes. @Vassilios has been working on QoL changes, directly liaising with community members through the Illegal FM Public Discord to push forwards much wanted changes, not to discredit his work he did previously for /helmet and MCs and his ongoing CCTV project. The graffiti script is also in the works again. @Strobe has been working directly with myself and @Oggy on overhauling the weapon script in terms of damages, recoil and modded weaponry. @Rothschild and @valelele has been all around superstars fixing bugs that are found as well as helping on the backend side of supplier changes. @Adv has also been working constantly to help with the release of UCP support for Illegal Faction Management and the community so that overall things can be streamlined, roleplay can be roleplay without extensive OOC bureaucracy. In regards to the "gun crisis", there has been a few calls of action from us prior to this overhaul that is planned. To begin, suppliers have been limited for some time on the amount of autos that can be requested - we have recently added an additional restriction to flood the market with lower grade weapons. In addition, the backend support for components to be released to supplier has been completed by @Strobe and @Oggy which means that we can begin to consider the deployment of these after discussions, further information regarding this will be released when final decisions have taken place. We are aware of the historical supply and demand issues within certain areas of roleplay. @Igloo has been at the forefront gathering data and statistics so that decisions made are not only of an individual viewpoint, but rather facts taken from the server so that our approach can be targeted with a measure to confirm that we are changing what we set out to. Our plan for the upcoming weeks/months is finalize the weapons overhaul, set the drug overhaul into motion, then overhaul the supplier system for both drug and guns. Snippets of the work we're doing is all posted and available publicly in our Illegal FM Public Discord.

  9. Hi bud. Who says you need to call anybody when you open a business? Literally nobody. You are required as per the Fire Code to request an inspection on the SFM portal which takes less time than it does for you to drop your ignorant reply here. Once a request is in for an inspection the business may operate as normal without any issues. I don't know who told you that you need to place "15 fire extinguishers" down but they're also naive and don't have a clue what they're talking about. I think this server would be a better place if people stopped bashing on other player's roleplay, and instead focused on their own. I play this game to have fun, not for people to cause drama.

  12. I recently found out that some of my remarks both IC and OOC are seen as offensive, insultive and sometimes even as toxic... I wish to apologize to those who have been offended by me, or by my character Paul Sarino. Both now, and in the past. And probably also in the future, and for that I will apologize in advance. I can't control myself it seems. Without further ado, here are my screenshots from this week:

  13. Obviously I was exaggerating a little with the 15 fire extinguishers, but you missed/ignored my main point, which is that this process is not fun. Yes I can't speak for everybody, I'm sure there are some people that enjoyed it, but every single business owner I have talked to did not like the extra hurdle to starting their business. I know of several people who just got fined right off the bat, who were just trying to start up some roleplay that entertains others. Yes that is anecdotal, but I'm willing to bet most business owners feel this way. I am not saying that SFM are bad people or bad roleplayers, Again, I'm saying that the process of opening up a business and having either SFM come to your door and slap a ticket in your mouth, or needing to go on their forums and go through bureaucratic hoops is just unenjoyable. Have you ever try to do something in your yard IRL, like building a shed for example? You need to read like 15 pages of bylaws, then you need to call inspectors over to check it out, just for them to tell you that your new shed it too close to the property line. It sucks, it's a pain, it takes time from your day, and it usually dips further into your pockets. We don't need to emulate every aspect of real life in this game. There's a reason we don't have to fill out real tax returns for our characters, because nobody would want that. Yes sometimes permits are necessary. I'm not complaining about PF and CCW permits because I believe having those hoops are necessary for server health, even though I don't know anyone that actually liked filling out the paperwork, hell I don't think the LSPD even likes filling out the paperwork, but they do it because it is necessary. If this was not the case the server would be a warzone, however this is not the case with businesses without inspections. I never went into a building and went "Golly gee, what a fire hazard!" I'm not bashing your roleplay, I'm saying I the process SFM has designed (If they are the ones that designed it) in regards to property checks is bad. I think it should be removed. These business owners are also here to have fun, not to get tickets.
