  2. Our main goal while roleplaying within the group 3200 Jackboyz is to portray a realistic blood set which consists of properly portrayed members living around East Vinewood. East Vinewood has their politics, so it may seem different to South Central Gang Role-players. We take character portrayal and development extremely serious, and will not hold back from removing you from the faction if it is deemed you are un-fit for the faction, all members must abide by the rules the server has set for us players and if broken punishment will be handed out by 3200 Leadership. This faction is and will stay private to guarantee high quality roleplay. If you have any questions, concerns or regards about the faction, feel free to private-message @Hotwire.

  3. Detailed Description Pretty simple, just add a mapped in phone in protective custody that functions the same way for the male/female pods. Relevant Commands/Items Scripted phone, exactly the same functions as the ones in the male/female pods. How will it benefit the server? It'd add RP for characters that are in protective custody, allowing them to be able to communicate to people outside of TTCF for the duration of their stay. I've had two characters this week request phone calls.

  6. The Dream Is Always the Same The What The chronicle of a patrol boot growing into the role of a proper deputy, and the inevitable physical and mental degradation that is to follow one in such a taxing position over a long (or perhaps abrupt) period of servitude to the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department. This thread will document the day-to-day of Deputy Sheriff Dinarra Horowitz, insomniac and Richman-born Hebrew struggling to fill a pair of shoes which may prove to be a few sizes too big. The Who Dinarra Horowitz is an Israeli-American born from a family of immigrants. Her mother and father immigrated with her grandparents in the 20th century in order to find a better life in America. Her father is a lawyer, while her mother has forever been a stay-at-home who’s raised her children, Dinarra and her older brother Isaac. Having been raised in a family that has always been close to America’s legal system, both of the Horowitz children have a mentality leaning towards the concept of pro-justice, for that has been the environment they have been raised in. Kept away from the crime-ridden areas of South Central, being raised in Richman, the siblings and the family at large have never had very many negative interactions with Law Enforcement personnel, leading them to develop a confidence in the system that upholds the pillars of American society. With her older brother going off to an Ivy League in Newark, New Jersey, Dinarra was less interested in following in her father’s footsteps, but rather working in a more hands-on tenure as a member of Law Enforcement. Mortal Reminders & The Dream Plagued by a recurring dream, Horowitz finds herself frequently waking up in the middle of the night. This impacts her work environment and her home life, as much as she does her best to assure others that it does not. As the character develops, so to will light be shed on what keeps our boot up during absurd hours. To accompany, we will have her internalizations, reflections, and reminders of one's humanity (or lack there-of) as they come, alongside persons of interest. POIs will take place in the form of friends, mentors, or simply those who have left a strong impression on Dinarra as a character. Your closest friend and confidant. He was a Deputy, like you. You were just finishing the academy when IA chewed him up and spit him out. It broke your heart when he called you from Jail. ----- Your families know each other from the old country. Your mother was like a second mother to him. And his, to you. You're not sure what you'd do without him. ----- He's been with you through the whole journey. From the time you enlisted, until you finally graduated. You can think of nothing better than his praise. It means more to you than your own. ----- When you're down, he picks you back up. When you've got something on your mind, he listens. When you need advice, he's already been through most of your problems. You'd do anything for him. April 7th, 106 Cougar Ave And then you woke up. ----- You met your first patrol instructor while you were at Shay's. You get the impression they're tight knit. That's what they say about the gang unit, anyhow. You weren't sure what to make of him, at first. ----- You grabbed your shit and you hopped into his car. You met another Deputy in the parking lot, when you pulled in. Keith Macdonald was his name, you only exchanged a few words. Fifteen minutes later, you got a call that he was dead. ----- You didn't know the guy. It still upset you, though, he was still a badge. Calhoun was a little more upset with what happened. You were mid-way through orientation when you went down to the call. ----- You weren't sure what you should have expected when you got there. The man was shot dead in a crummy parking lot. No one was there to help him. One person was there to see it, and they wouldn't talk. ----- That's what made your blood run cold, that night. Not so much the thought of it being you - Well, maybe the thought of it being you. But the thought of nothing ever coming of it is a hell of a lot worse. ----- Calhoun doesn't strike you as a by-the-book kind of guy. You caught your first hook with him, though. He doesn't really know you; he probably doesn't care about you. But some part of you hopes he's proud, if only because you want to be like him. April 8th, Twin Towers Correctional Facility Like being pulled beneath the current. And then you woke up. ----- You met Castillo in TTCF. You were pulling a duty assignment, after transferring from elsewhere. You're not sure what he makes of you. Frankly, you're not sure what you make of him yet either. ----- He gave you a tip about going upstairs alone in the pod. It'll probably save your life. You passed that off to a fresh arrival. It'll probably save his life. ----- Castillo seems like a busy-body. He works as a detective outside, but he's also an investigator for the jail. You'd like to know more about him. Though you're remiss to ask, for being thumbed as just being an overeager boot. April 8th, Davis Wet inhalation. Like being pulled beneath the current. And then you woke up. ----- Tonight was your first evaluated patrol. You met your evaluator before you enlisted, though. He's another friend of Shay's. He's a little different from most people you've met, prior to the service. ----- You get the impression he's seen some shit. If only because of the way he carries himself. You're not sure what he makes of you, though. Would it matter to him if you wound up like Keith? ----- You wound up on a barricaded suspect. You felt pretty good helping set the perimeter. Though that was really all you got to do. You're glad for it, you're not sure you could hack it doing what the guys in SEB do. ----- After the debrief you wound up at the gas station in Davis. Two were dead when you arrived, one was bleeding. Your first triple homicide, on your second day. Lord, oh Lord, what a time to be alive. ----- You and an officer from the Police Department were treating the injured. He died in your arms. It was all you could do to keep it together. They told you it's not your fault; is it? ----- When you got back after, you were a little terse with your instructor. You didn't press him for answers though, erratic as you were. Your hands shook and your voice broke on the ride back. You were embarrassed to even look at him.

  7. I'm against this. There's a reason why PD, SD and other LEO entities have their counters removed, same reason is applied to FD. It's a fake number 99% of the time. Which believe it or not, causes people to react a certain way when they get told that nobody's available. Here's a breakdown: 17 FD online - 3 are lifeguards - 2 are civilians - 8 are training - 3 are unavailable - 1 is available Here's what would be a good solution to the issue, whenever you /onduty, it simply states: FD: ONLINE | FD: OFFLINE I think it's a good alternative to the issue.

  8. I started playing in December on my own. The only content that's come my way has been ERP offers, trophy wife, being someone's GF, a sexworker, and retail work (where I've been told over a dozen times to dress 'sexy'). I'm getting pretty used to guys starting up idle chatter and asking for my number after two minutes of talking, or talking to me for ten minutes and shooting for romance/erp, or even twenty minutes of chatting and they want me to move in with them. The thing is, you'd be really hard pressed to find someone who telegraphs that they want to get involved in SOME kind of criminal element more than my character. I give NO sexual attention to anyone, but I ALWAYS show interest in crime. That being said, I get hit on every day (easily over a hundred times) and I've been asked to be a model, a stripper or just a one night stand. No one has asked if I want to post as a lookout while they do a deal. Or, to move a package from here to there. Throw a gun in my lap and be like, "Watch my ass!". The only thing my character pursues is money and I even kind of go out of my way to show other people that I'm a drug dealer so they get the hint. I don't even want to do the sexy bartender thing, but aside from offers to be someone's girlfriend, it's the only thing that's come my way. What am I going to do, RP with myself? I had a guy hand me a note with his number on it, which interrupted a guy who asking for it, who had interrupted a guy asking for it. That really happened. I've had a guy mug me, bash my head into a wall, and threaten me, which I thought was kind of an intense scene. A week later he gave me everything back and asked me for my number. No joke. I've been in line at a cafe with four guys and three of them asked for my number and the fourth laughed about it, but the joke was on him because he already asked a few days earlier. I'm just trying to RP buying a freaking boba. What do I have to do? Should I tell em to form a line and keep it in their pants? If you don't want women to play whores, offer them something else. If you don't want them switching sides and going full lesbian, tone down the avalanche of constant romantic attention. Saying, "I'm a lesbian," is like sunlight to a vampire at this point. I didn't download tinder online. I downloaded GTA online. I kinda wanted to be a bad ass criminal.

  10. Rather just see the blacklist disabled and have people trolling with outfits they shouldn't have ajailed/banned. There's a tucked in t-shirt that's blacklisted because there's like 2 textures related to LEO's when there's around 5 for civilian use for example.

  12. To single out black characters is just dumb. Most Hispanic gangs here act like they time-travelled back to 80s with their cholo lifestyle and vocabulary of a Mexican immigrant that just crossed the border. Most white gangs here act like they are straight out of American History X. Not even going to mention all the characters that are part of European groups that can't speak any English IC but somehow got 3 cars, 2 houses and a business. Are we gonna sit here and act like 90%+ European characters aren't part of a questionable criminal group? Overall RP quality here is not the best and people lack proper knowledge when portraying any characters but to single out black characters is just stupid.

  13. I'm going to butt in here and criticize a claim that many of you have made: My profession in real life revolves around dialects, so I do my fair share of research on how people speak across North America. I also have a fairly well-known character in game named Cletus Hicks. He sticks mostly to the county, very rarely popping into the city, and he's your typical truck-driving, volatile (but usually very kind), red-nosed, unhygienic "hick". Something that separates him from this stereotype is that he's relatively liberal in his politics. Cletus speaks in a very, very strong "rural" dialect. He pronounces words like "PEN" as "PIN", he lengthens vowel sounds and diphthongs (colloquially referred to as a "southern drawl"), his PRICE diphthong undergoes "glide deletion" resulting in just a longer monophthong, and other things that unfortunately can't be expressed too well through text. The only thing he really does that's inconsistent with the region is pronouncing "what" as "hwhat", with the "hw" sound. This is called the WHINE-WINE split and there is no evidence that it occurs in the west of the US. But... it's funny... and I doubt I'll get in administrative trouble for that 😛 When the southwestern United States (what our game world is based on) was settled, it involved many contributions from the South, with strong influence coming from Texas and Oklahoma. These phonological contributions aren't enough to extend the region we so know as "South" westward beyond Texas, but effects are found in several scattered remnants of Southern speech. Katherine Geenberg, a sociolinguist from Stanford University, has even found it to extend as far north as Trinity County, California. You can see her study on this "country-sounding" Californian accent here. Rob Podesva, Asc. Professor of Linguistics at Stanford, has a study you can find here that mentions how Dust Bowl migrations of settlers into California during the Great Depression from places like Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas is the presumable cause of the "rural" accent we find in California's Central Valley. Even as recent as the 1970-1980s, we can find the timber industry boom in Northern California responsible for migrations from Arkansas and Oklahoma. Some predominantly "Southern"-like features of English also exist in California, as mentioned in William Labov's Atlas of North American English, a large survey of pronunciation patterns in all the major urbanized centers of North America. Sounds patterns like PRICE glide deletion, when the second bit of the vowel "ay" like in the word "PRICE" gets deleted, giving us something like "praaas" instead, has been found in several speakers living in Southern and Northern California. The PIN-PEN merger (https://youtu.be/L1NXt5eWI10 listen to the second "menu" after 0:26) exists in areas north of Los Angeles, too. It also has been found to exist within Los Angeles. The PIN-PEN merger is when words with the "e" sound followed by a nasal sound become more of an "i". Pen becomes pin, men become min, twenty becomes twinny, etc. ...and there are more. According to both Geenberg and Podesva, it was mostly outdoorsy, lesser-educated people that demonstrated features of this "rural Californian" accent. To say that there are no "hillbillies" or "hicks" in LS County is just not true. Of course, LS County is not LA County, so we'll never really know for sure what the staff on GTA:W wants the county's dialects to look like. Despite this, though, it is not unreasonable to find your stereotypical Southerner in the North, and one shouldn't feel any shame roleplaying a character of the sort! Nor should anyone get mad, or claim unrealistic RP, for interacting with a typical "hillbilly" in LS County. Here's a fun video about "redneck" regions in California: Here's a video of a Californian hillbilly. For any linguists reading this, see if you can hear his apical, non-velarized, intervocalic /l/. Rare to find that in California! TLDR: cletus gonna clet

  14. Taking 4 months to settle a report, be it a RPQM or literal report with a "warning" or an "Ajail." which are both equally useless.
