  3. This will be a continuation of Catalan Rui's story. Short Story: After jumping in for his own race during a brawl outside Kowloon Palace (Chinese fine dining restaurant) his fate was sealed with a particular group in Chinatown that mobbed it. Friendly and mostly passive, he has undergone through multiple struggles and hardships that has made him what he is today. Now essentially a made man in the Chinatown Collective, he continues to strut on in Los Santos, only wanting to protect those who cares about. The Hook: Shameful that he wasn't able to stand up for his entire life, fearful of being outed, of being powerless, and seeing how people always looked down upon his ethnicity he had enough when he saw a group of Mexicans fight a group of Chinese workers outside the Kowloon Palace. Fueled by his people standing on their own he joined which evidently sealed his fate into organized crime. Sunny Woo: Sunny Woo took a liking to Catalan due to his naïve nature. Sunny Woo, an ex-member of Wah Ching who later formed the Los Santos Triad took Catalan under his wing, later becoming a father figure, and adoptive grandfather down the road. Related Links:

  6. Short description: This suggestion is being raised to bring to everyone’s attention the need to revamp or somehow add new features to the current 24/7 script. Most of the time, players seek for items that, in a IRL perspective would be available for sale on a 24/7, however are not in-game. I would like to suggest a feature where more items could be added to these stores, such as groceries, some alcohol, and a few cigarette packs. Detailed description: As everyone may have noticed at this point, the current 24/7 stores do not have the day-to-day items that would be available to them in a IRL perspective. These stores are lacking most of the items and it gets to a point where only few people will come across them to buy items. The only apparent reason for these stores to be even used at the moment is to buy things such as “boombox’s(????)”, cameras or maybe some ties. There’s little to no usage for most of the other items and I believe we could add a few more useful items that would call someone to visit a store more often. Oftentimes people also ask for, eg: cigarettes, that are nowhere available or even booze. Fair enough, we have two separate stores for each of these, but, we could make it so there’s still an advantage from buying these from these two stores instead of a 24/7. If we look at most of the 24/7 interiors, we can notice how countless fridges are mapped in there with all kinds of booze and even a full display of tobacco… Sometimes it’s weird to try and explain to someone how these… Aren’t just there. All in all, this suggestion was to create some sort of mechanism that would allow 24/7’s store to get a wider variety of items that could be bought from the script. As exemplified above: Alcohol, Tobacco, Magazines (?), different sorts of soda, etc. Commands to add: Add these items to the current 24/7 script, however make them more expensive than the stores that should be selling off these goods. Items to add: Fruits, more sodas, some alcohol options, cigarettes, magazines, newspaper and everyday groceries. How would your suggestion improve the server? I believe that this suggestion would just come to offer more roleplay participants and more wider variety of items that could be chosen from from a 24/7 store. Additional information: N/A

  7. Detailed Description: Although it's been a long time since I've partaken in any illegal RP, I've known of many situations RPed by organised crime groups that involve burying bodies of individuals they've killed in attempts to properly dispose of a body. From what I've seen and understood of these situations, the normal way of doing this is to simply RP the burying and then get an admin to despawn the body... or alternatively hide the body somewhere and wait for a server restart to despawn it. The addition of this command, would replace the need for these ingame reports which, let's be honest, can take a very long time and would allow people to properly attempt to get rid of evidence in a legitimate way by themselves. The body would need to be nearby when the command is done, in a suitable location on the map (actual excavatable ground and not a tarmac street) and, in a similar way to how CIM markers work, the location would persist between server restarts for a set amount of time to give the option for the body to be rediscovered if it's location was known or found out. I appreciate that many people may think this is unnecessary, especially illegal RPers as for them it gives LEO another chance to trace them back. However, if you see the situation from the opposing side... once the server restarts or the body is admin despawned then it's gone forever, completely undiscoverable or usable for forensic work and all the potential criminal had to do was wait for it to magically vanish. Even when the bodies ARE found and taken to the morgue they still vanish after server restarts. Relevant Commands/Items: /bury or /burybody, /dig (if they were to implement the ability to recover found graves), and possibly some kind of required item like a shovel. How will it benefit the server?: Adding the ability to properly expand on the more important kills that Illegal factions make, such as faction CKs, by letting players properly finish the job of disposing of the evidence of their crimes. If done poorly, lazily or not at all then things will more likely be traced back to them. As mentioned before, this is a suggestion for the illegal community from a primarily legal RPer, however I've now been able to see the forensics side of legal factions for a good while now and, I'm sure you might be able to understand, the ability to wipe such a crucial part of an investigation (the body) by simply waiting for a server restart or getting an admin to remove it from existence feels quite cheaty and takes away a lot of the RP from us. This command and script would also tie in to additional suggestions that are focussed more on forensics that I might pitch to the community or faction management in future, giving them more RP in form of recovering and investigating buried bodies and clandestine graves. This suggestion is primarily to see the opinions of illegal RPers on this idea, so go crazy. I'm sure at first it may seem like a huge handicap to your RP, however in reality it's an idea that attempts to make situations like these much more realistic and enjoyable instead of play to win and hoping the body despawns before cops find it.

  8. We shouldn't make the mistake of assuming that time served equals experience or relevance when it comes to roleplaying in 2022. Text based roleplaying has taken many forms in the 20 or so years that it's been a fixture on the internet, and many people such as myself remember those early days, and have the legitimate right to call ourselves part of the so-called 'old guard' being talked about in this thread. Still, I've met many extremely poor, unadaptable roleplayers who are still around from those very early days, before a large percentage of this community were even born - and we should not idolize these people or allow them to take positions of influence in the community purely because they can claim being part of the 'old guard' or being from the 'old school.' Instead, all I have to offer to this discussion is a word of warning; rather than take time served as meaningful experience or being able to offer a positive contribution, instead judge everybody, old school and new school, on their individual merit and what they can reasonably and realistically bring to the table. Just because one of the old school players has a well known name or is considered to know what they are doing, it doesn't mean they're what's best for the community in the here and now. Do your independent research on everybody being pushed into the new version of the faction council/or whatever system will be put in place to replace it going forward, and don't be afraid to question everything in pursuit of genuinely raising standards and improving game quality for all. You can just stick around for fifteen years and stay the course, that's all it takes to be considered 'old school' and believe me, I know plenty of people who have done just that and remain their same un-innovative, poor and shitty selves that they were many years ago. Question everything and never assume someone is more qualified to get involved in discussions/driving change than you are until proven otherwise.

  9. This genuinely exists in the real world though. My father has been in the states for 30 years, and still his English is horrid, simply because he's never had to work a customer service job and he always lived around people from his home country. This isn't an anomaly by any means.

  10. Comparing two parties mutually agreeing to skipping MVA roleplay (which is what 99% of the server does) to rape roleplay. GTA W forums moment. Sometimes I read this place and it's full of the most out of touch people imaginable.

  12. Either people confuse no crime areas with restricted crime zones or not read the rules properly. The port and Elysian Island are considered 'Restricted Crime Zone' and not 'No Crime Zone' as per the above definition which means all it does is to prevent random low quality robberies and meta kidnapping consisting of strip search and beat up in bumfuck nowhere to 110% gain every little item carried at minimal risk from individuals without any roleplay quality assurance or certain continuation in forms of an associated illegal faction. Any other type of crime is not limited from an out-of-character standpoint. Truck drivers have been target of low quality meta robberies for a long time simply due to the fact that players knew the trucker payout is in cash through the script meaning that any robbery has been essentially a guranteed $5.000 and eventual firearm on top leading to abysmal portrayal for that sweet script gains. The moment payouts changed and robberies became less attractive, it shifted towards break-ins and Grand Theft Auto on vehicles parked on the different company lots, regardless of them being private or fleet vehicle with little regard or any risk of patrolling entities or CCTV coverage. Fleet vehicles came with the 'bonus' of having a guranteed dashcam you can pawn in, other vehicles with a random chance of a firearm for your asset grab. Having to rely on subpar roleplay for your faction does not work out speaking from experience in LEO roleplay. It is a soul draining, depressing process to rinse and repeat the same five scenarios with little to no value, knowing each one does not contribute to any character development or eventual roleplay avenues and turns into an unenjoyable chore - such as your average 'body and casings' call for LEOs or yet another 'my homie got shot' call for FD. I rather see that one well roleplayed scenario than ten shit situations everybody involved does not want to be apart of. Generally you could say lift all restrictions and leave it up to common sense of the individual player, but that has evidently not worked and probably never will. Are those flat bans the ideal solution the community wants? No, but they are the consequence the community and server deserves at this point to establish at least some sort of a realistic environment than a hostile wastelane in what should be a metropolis city before it inevitably turns into a glorified cops and robbers server.
