No Crime Zones & Muggings — Overhaul It's no secret that exteriors are getting less enjoyable for the general population to roleplay within; this has been displayed upon countless threads where we've had to discuss this. By combining ideas from all the above threads, despite not agreeing with them 100% myself, new rule changes have been written. These changes do not benefit illegal or legal role-players, this is to benefit the overall quality of the server currently. Red marks a removal.   2. Update 2.6.13 Additions Added a new feature : Discord offline messages! You can now receive ingame messages directly on Discord if you're offline or not on your character : this requires your Discord to be linked on UCP and that you enable server members to message you directly You can also reply to an SMS of your choice or block a specific number that has contacted you! The feature is still experimental, and will be improved to more areas of the game if it works good with messages! Fixes Fixed a bug that was leading to a server wide lag of 1-2 seconds.

  3. Detailed Description A command that shows the character's /examine on the corpse. Relevant Commands/Items /cexamine How will it benefit the server? Eliminates having to call an admin to find out if a corpse has tattoos or if there's some specifics on someone's examine that could help in the future. Also helps illegal factions if they see rival tattoos or their own member's tattoos. It's simple and straight forward, just eliminates having to get an admin there to do it for you.

  5. This is why RPQM exists, however I don't like the idea of closer monitoring and tighter restrictions on what you can rp, that's not going to create an enjoyable environment. There needs to be a certain amount of freedom here. As long as people aren't breaking rules or harming anyone, leave them to it. In all honesty? Same applies if they enjoy frequent esex, if it's not harming anyone, done in private and both consent who really cares? If it's done in the confines of the rules it's not really something that needs to be monitored and policed. The problem is with those who are frequently breaking the rules and not learning from it, block wiping and getting a warning because it's their first offence even though they blatantly ignore the report. People being allowed to be unbanned 3,450 times on final final final final warnings. It's one thing to give a second chance, but it's quite another when they can repeatedly sweet talk their way back whether via appeal or staff report by twisting events just the right way. It's fucking ridiculous tbh and it needs to stop, it makes a mockery of the system when people with 5,6 or more bans are being allowed to play. There definitely needs to be harsher deterrents for those who break the rules, but also encourage original, meaningful characters.

  6. It was a good run. It's evident and clear that people clearly don't like us being around, perhaps is due to how successful we were. It didn't take us that long to get to where we are neither, unfortunately although I was convinced by my folks to return, due to the 'change' that was to take place, me & the leadership have come to the conclusion that the server is not it. I'm not going to go out of way to bash people, factions, groups or admins, but there's a lot of room for improvements which is not being filled up, instead it's being left out to stretch into something bigger and more malicious. I would like to thank everybody for partaking in this project that myself, Skante Vida, Deadplaya, Authentic & Laced Up started up as a timekiller, which slowly developed into becoming the jewel of South Central, and hands down the best Piru faction to grace the server. We did everything in 3 months, and proved to the illegal community that if you've the dedication, knowledge and will to lead a successful faction? You can do it. However, I do find it unfortunate that the scene is split and divided. Egos stand in the way, and people cannot take Ls. I'll not spill any names, they know who they are. We've decided as a group to hang our rags. We'll not be creating another project, instead we'll be leaving the community as a whole. There's little enjoyment, fun or roleplay really that we can receive back from the energy and time we've invested into this server. Instead of gatekeeping the region, we'll be allowing other players who are willing to make the same sacrifices we did to open up in East Chamberlain. I'll be shouting out my people, alongside @ZaE for helping us create the B-Team. Big s/o also to Pueblos. Apparently there's little room for good quality roleplay on the server so we'll be making our leave. We did it once in Gage Maravilla & Hate Valley. We did it again in TTP. They hate to see us hold the trophy. L&A.   8. Each legal faction has a LM handler that skims through the type of roleplay the faction is engaging in, and any concerns raised by the faction’s leadership. This is not a “Zero Quality Control” measure is it? I think what you’re referring to are the stray characters that have no real purpose other than sex, money and cars. A lot of legal faction characters avoid such civilians just as much as criminals do, it doesn’t aid our character development. I roleplay a university student, probably as civilian as it gets. We are in a bubble of our own character development, our own roleplay environment on a multi million facility, where bad mouthing and showing no fear to another student on campus will only lead to an argument or worst case scenario, blackmail or a fist fight, but if a car of (M)’s pull up to harass us and we throw an insult in retaliation, we’re getting gunned down by 16 year olds which just as mentioned above, doesn’t add to our development.

  11. Regarding the implementation of new robbery rules, IFM was consulted regarding these rules. To clarify, Restricted Crime Zone — any area where mugging or asportation (transporting a person from a location to mug them) cannot occur without clear permission being given by an admin beforehand. Other crimes in these areas, particularly crime that grabs attention such as shooting, are held to a higher standard. e.g; the burden is on the person deciding to shoot to prove that the situation could not have been done in a more secure location, or that the situation was pressing enough that it demanded immediate action. No other crimes are limited within this zone. Restricted Crime Zones do not apply to scripted illegal factions with a historical claim to an area, such as a gang operating within their own neighborhood or neighborhoods they would realistically operate in based on their real life equivalent and in-character development. This should not be done excessively, however. This rule protects illegal roleplayers. Established illegal characters do not need to /report to commit muggings, shootings in public places, or worry about the burden of being held to a higher standard. These rules do not apply to serious illegal roleplayers. Someone who has been roleplaying in Vespucci can rob and kill with reason and need not report or be harassed by administrators. This new rule does not create NPCs. Illegal players need not worry about the existence of some invisible entity witnessing them commit a crime. In addition, This rule does not apply to characters which have existed long-term who are career criminals. This rule only applies to random legal characters who have no realistic reason to engage in petty mugging. If you, as a gang, decide to travel around an area and commit robberies, all you need to do is just say "We're going to use this car for the robberies. We're going to have X and Y jump out on people." You will be protected. Some gangs, for instance, are mobile and do not need to justify traveling to any admin. Administrators have been instructed to not enforce these rules on members of illegal factions who are not acting maliciously. These rules only target problem players, such as those who are making characters PURELY to rob, rob in excess of 5 times per day in unrealistic settings, and other contexts. Nothing changes for illegal factions!

  13. Unfortunately, the faction in its current form must close. IFM provided an activity warning multiple times to leadership and has seen no change. Due to the faction leader’s pernicious inactivity, the faction in its current iteration will be closed. We welcome anyone who wishes to take the mantle (within reason) to re-apply to reopen the faction.

  14. The problem is that every measure suggested by the same people that are perpetuating the problem, aren't really allowing their suggested 'measures' any chance to succeed. In fact, we've only seen the opposite - they're actively betraying the promises of what will work by targeting the people trying to implement those "measures" as a last desperate big to roleplay on the server. Let's review, shall we? - Arm yourselves Cool in theory, but a personal firearm no longer works with the current fear RP rules. If you pull your gun before, you'll be reported for poor RP, because you initiated the encounter with an act of violence, and no criminal is required or willing to admit that they were PLANNING to rob someone. @Drew_Banks reported the people he tried to rob, because they recognized the impending robbery and subdued him. - Travel in groups Groups are being targeted, and in quite a few instances, criminals are targeting groups twice as large. The size of your group is no longer a deterrent, meaning people are always going to be at risk, even if they gather for an event outdoors. - Stop taking risks This is happening in literal line of sight of police stations. Officers are being gunned down just for wanting to issue a traffic citation. We're seeing gangs escalating to violence because they're not afraid of drawing attention to themselves, and don't have any issue with killing anyone that reacts to their suspicious behavior, cops being a favorite target. If they're killing cops, literally armed and trained personnel, what chance do civilians stand against the criminal element? - Push the police to fix it With what? Every time the police get some measure that helps investigations, it gets shut down. Any time a measure is proposed to limit the rampant crime, the suggestion is shut down because "iT wOuLd nEgAtIVeLy imPaCt tHe cRiMInAl cOMmUnItY". There's no different measures that can be employed at this point, because with every practical measure stripped or not even capable of working in the first place, the criminal element is emboldened to just have their way even despite their recurring and increasingly loud complaints that "nobody goes outside anymore", a complaint that will happen again, and again, and again... despite the people voicing such complaints refusing to do anything about fixing the problem.

  15. You know what I do when someone is playing a cringy or weird civilian character? I ignore them. You know what I do when someone is playing a cringy or weird illegal rper? I can't ignore them, they're making me run my pockets for the third time this week in front of Mission Row.
