  1. Just so you know we were already working on big changes in the rules to massively change how bad illegal roleplayers impact regular civilians roleplay. We'll give more information about this next week.

  2. A Year With Aurum It's been a year since our faction thread was approved and published on the official faction sub-forum. I just wanted to make a quick post thanking everyone that's contributed to the faction throughout the year - you know who you are. While we are a smaller faction compared to our conterparts, we still persist in our efforts to offer a place for those seeking a particular niche of Roleplay that is otherwise limited in the community. A faction that aims to simulate a large-scale corporation, it's functions and all the facets that come with it. There have been many bumps along the road as well as many highs. But that is the nature of a faction looking to scratch a particular niche. We have grown completely comfortable with that and accept there will be ups and downs - but ultimately, we will contiue to persist with the faction and to enjoy the ride no matter how bumpy it is; continuing to serve as a foundation for corporate RP to build and thrive off from. We will continue to provide a place for people looking to enjoy a corporate environment and all of its business practices. In the coming new year we are hoping to continue establishing stronger ties with the rest of the legal roleplay scene. Aurum was designed with the idea to interact with the wider economy and provide roleplay opportunities to other factions, whether they be the state government in a Solar Power deal or perhaps the city government requesting the expertise of our engineers for their wind-turbines; members of an illegal faction looking to involve themselves in a legal day-job at one of our Refinery sites. These are some of the ways our faction could enhance and support the rest of the server. We look forward to seeing what the year begins! See you in Q1.

  6. Detailed Description For every sale an ammunation makes, roughly 45% of it does to GOV. I assume this is because guns are quite expensive and it's to prevent gun store folks from becoming super rich mallrats, but their are some issues with this. Using Guns Direct as an example, we used to have our commission rate set to 40%. Which means with every $8000 combat pistol sold, roughly 3200 goes to the seller, 3600 goes to GOV and the remaining 1200 goes to the business. This was just about allowing us to break even on component costs but we can't afford to pay extra for prioritised deliveries, especially with the current trucker draught. We've reduced employee commission to compensate to 30 whilst we had a few extra outgoings such as paying for a security detail for store openings. I'm typically glad to suck stuff like this up and take it all in stride, but gov owned ammunations like Hawick and Chumash can afford to pay their staff high commissions without fear of component costs, what's more, is anyone can just /bjoin these jobs, including people that shouldn't be working in gunstores like convicted felons or gang characters. With the update to weapon degradation, working in a gunstore, especially one with a range is a way more specialist role than say working at an LTD and this should be reflected in the payment, or rather, how much more I can afford to pay my staff. You can't just /bjoin a mechanic garage after all. TLDR: Player owned anmunations have a severe disadvantage against state owned ammunations due to the sale tax. Relevant Commands/Items None How will it benefit the server? It will bring more RP to gun stores for people that actually want to be gun nuts or just gun fan boys and allow expansion and growth for players owned ammunations.

  8. One thing I’ve noticed is the pettiness of reports over the past few months. People completely uninvolved reporting a guy who’s game lagged and he hits a pole and keeps going because he thought no one was around and it was a genuine mistake based on their computer components. Another bit of pettiness I’ve noticed is people uninvolved with a scenario reporting just because they think it’d be funny to get someone punished. For example I’ve seen uninvolved parties reporting others for videos that they’ve seen that has absolutely zero to do with them just so they can get a rise out of someone. I blame the majority of this on the current cancel culture in the world along with the whole victim mentality a decent amount of people seem to have. To put it simply? If you’re not involved in the situation just leave it alone. It’s up to the involved parties and not someone with an avenging angel complex.
