  1. "The Albanians are one of the hardest criminal enterprises to crack due to the fact that they usually only deal with other Albanians and can be extremely smart and violent when needed. Albanian gangs in the USA are different than those in the EU, wherein in the USA, the mafia has built many lucrative pacts with major crime families all over the country but most important being the Colombian cartels who control coca production. Huge shipments were arranged directly from South America." The Albanian Civil War in 1997 was sparked by pyramid scheme failures in Albania soon after its transition to a market economy. The government was toppled and more than 2,000 people were killed. Various sources describe the violence that ensued as a rebellion, or a civil war, or a rebellion that gradually escalated into a civil war. By January 1997, Albanian citizens, who had lost a total of $1.2 billion (an average of $400 per person countrywide) took their protest to the streets. Beginning in February, thousands of citizens launched daily protests demanding reimbursement by the government, which they believed was profiting from the schemes. On 1 March, Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi resigned and on 2 March, President Sali Berisha declared a state of emergency. This led to nearly 100,000 Albanians leaving the country. Among the repercussions of the Kosovo crisis for Albania was the matter in which it facilitated migration to US & EU. Presenting themselves as Kosovars, Albanians sought asylum in several countries. The situation was made easier by the lack of identification documents for displaced Kosovars and by their common language. This movement was known as a "silent movement" as the Albanian authorities were much more concerned about recovering from the event of 1997 and continuing the reforms, than about handling the displacement of the Kosovo Population and their own rationals. Sokol was only 8 years old by the time his family migrated to the US, having settled in New York, it wasn't easy for him. Growing up as a foreigner in a neighborhood surrounded by different ethnicities and races, it's clear to say he did not have an easy time. After the tragic death of his father, Sokol was only seventeen having to drop out of college to become the man of the family. He knew what he was getting himself into when he slowly started committing petty crimes such as shoplifting, theft, scams, and so on, little did he know that those crimes would just keep evolving into bigger ones. Years went by, now by the age of 24, having earned the nickname "Daja" now with full ties to the Albanian mob, having been brought in by his cousin, Tony who at the time was one of the main leaders. Years went by with Sokol Martinaj clearly no longer a stranger to the authorities anymore, having served two short sentences in Los Santos and having been arrested, but not convicted, many more times. Daja decided it was time to go solo and depart from the Albanian Mob which his cousin was in full control of in order to start his own outfit, though still heavily connected to the aforementioned mob. With mounting police suspicion on him, it made sense for him to form his own clique and engage in a wide variety of crimes. He had commanded in urban warfare and had a vast range of experience in many criminal acts and wished to pass this down onto a younger generation, a generation which he could control to do his own bidding. Sokol Martinaj and Tony Bejko had a sit-down. He received the blessing to depart and form his own thing. Sokol Martinaj had risen the ranks and graduated from the Albanian Mafia to become the independent leader of a crew in its own right. OOC: This faction aims to portray a realistic Albanian crew within Los Santos with strong ties to the mob. While we accept different ethnicities, we suggest an Albanian character if you're aiming to go up. We expect our members to provide quality roleplay and follow the rules at all time. Development is key within the faction, if you need help on how to accurately roleplay an Albanian gangster feel free to shoot me a message or go through our discord guides. The recruitment is strictly handled in-game, anyone that wishes to engage with the faction can drop me a private message for advice and tips. Screenshots require approval before posted on the thread. Upon joining the faction you grant character kill permission to the leadership. Any questions or concerns can be directed to @redis

  2. A particular strength for the bratva was the way Georgian became a virtual criminal fiefdom in the early 1990s. Under Nugzar Kipiani, the very organs of the state became incorporated within criminal networks, while hitman were sworn in as police. After his death his successor, Irakli Dvali, made some efforts to combat the more overt forms of banditry. However, these were hamstrung by a lack of resources and authority and were made irrelevant by the 1996 invasion. The pro-Russian regime under Tariel Mukbaniani is likewise bedevilled by claims of lawlessness, banditry and corruption. Georgian organized crime has been present in Russia since the Soviet era. During the 1990s, as rival criminal gangs, corrupt law enforcement and oligarchs fought one another for supremacy over the lucrative protection rackets of the emerging private business sector in the chaotic transition to capitalism, the Georgian mafia made its presence known in Moscow. One of the most famous bosses of this period was Otari Kvantrishvili, a former sportsman turned racketeer after a conviction for rape. He would often act as a go-between for various underworld factions and something of a public face for the mafia. Prior to his assassination in 1993, Kvantrishvili spoke of his ambitions to start his own political party. His funeral was attended by many celebrities and politicians, including the singer Joseph Kobzon. Georgian Connection group has expanded in Europe, Russia, Turkey and the other countries, Georgian group still plays a big role in the Caucasian weapon trades in Syria, Turkey, Russian, Romanian, France, Italy and other countries. Most of Georgia group are not allowed to back to Georgia and are permanently deported from their own country, which makes them operate from the other countries and make business with the other legal faces and the other figures in their own country, this time Dvali and his group are operating in United States of America. Georgian organized crime is not a specific gang so much as distinctive criminal subculture Often known as the bratva "brotherhood"-although sometimes it is described as the "Georgian Klan" or "Georgian Mafia" - it is a characteristic mix of modern efficiency and a bandit tradition. Georgia always had a disproportionately high number of crime bosses and still has a majority of the 700 or so still operating in the post-Soviet space and western Georgia (Kutaisi Clan) is particularly well represented. In some of its rules or "laws", the Georgian mafia parallels the Sicilian Mafia. There are differences but many things are similar.

  3. The Black Dragons or Kuroi ryū 黒い竜 acts as street enforcers for a much larger criminal Japanese organization. It's primarily made up of Japanese-American youth in Little Seoul's neighboring Little Tokyo district. The street gang actively partakes in narcotic distribution in and out of the boundaries of Little Tokyo. They are allegedly to blame for the array of shootings between the Japanese and Filipino street gangs in the area over drug territory. The territorial nature of this gang has led to casualties and extortion of other lone wolf distributors who steps foot onto their claimed grounds.

  7. Except it's not just a vanity item at all. People would rather use the map than the open business menu because the name alone sometimes can be ambiguous, whereas the icon additionally tells them what type of business is open. For example, you can easily make up that a certain establishment is a nightclub if it has a music icon, or a bar/lounge if it has a glass one, or a strip club if it's a high heel, regardless of the name. It's why the blip is so, so important, as people subconsciously decide where to go highly based on them. Granted these three icons I just mentioned are arguably the most used and visited ones, there's a reason it's not uncommon to see other businesses baiting customers by placing them (mostly the glass one) on the map, when in reality they don't relate to what the icons are commonly associated to which leads to people entering the interior, standing still for five seconds and then walking out because the place isn't what they expected it to be.
