  3. Thanks @Jeroenfor the banner! The Township of Paleto Bay is a sprawling, forever growing small town of big firsts. It is located in the forested hills of Blaine County, eclipsed by the colossal Mount Chiliad. The Township prides itself on it's illustrious history as industrialists, home to many farms and fisheries that supply the greater area of San Andreas, and Los Santos herself. The Township sees many new faces every single day. The strategic location of the down on Route 1 makes it a hot-spot for Truckers and families whom enjoy the summer months in the beautiful San Andreas. At first glance, The Township boasts great, big factories who have lost their purpose to time, but never their character. Driving by, to look and take in the sights of the old factories that once ran noisily with hundreds of workers are now maintained by a few local workers. The lumber mill can be smelt across the entire town whenever the pulp is being pumped out, that familiar smell is only overshadowed by the sound of the rail-cars being turned off at their usual time and growing up in this town, that was a sure way of knowing your ass better be home, teeth brushed and in bed to get to school in the morning. It wasn't long ago that Paleto Bay suffered during the economic collapse, the small-town had lost it's character as a result. Roy Buckley turned towards the way of involving the population more in the affairs of their beloved town, and thus was born the "Town Council" of Paleto Bay, mostly comprised of volunteers and business owners. The township found itself being spear-headed by the wealthy, proud and strong Southern Mannix's, and they were backed and supported by local business owners Jade Vega and Jason Quinn, whom love this town like it was their own child and who could forget Ramona Santiago and her girls down at Del Vecchio Liquor. These three managed to keep the town afloat as best they could and with the collapse over, and everyone on their feet backed by a vibrant, young and unrelenting community.. the sky was truly the limit for everyone. Roy Buckley has now stepped down after his eight year tenure serving Paleto Bay strongly. His eyes set on retirement, which paved the way for the Town Council to be brought up in his place until a mayor could be elected. The Township remains hushed in their affairs. Neighbors are all wondering who's next in line to help the town prosper.. and as things are paved... (Not literally, we love our dirt roads!), that town shows a small spark.. of life.. of hope, that one day Paleto Bay may return to her former glory as a corner-stone of small-town livin' with big-time aspirations to bring themselves out of economic hardship. ___________________________________________________________________________ ((As passionate county role-players, and most of us having very good friendships with each-other. We've decided to join up and try to create something besides just a character, but a real, growing and thriving culture of small-town life in the most realistic way possible. We planned this as a project to revive the Paleto scene and possibly bring elements of legal and illegal role-play back to the Bay while supporting business owners out here who enjoy small-town life. We aim for realistic portrayal of a town council and seek to involve any and all legal factions that are geared towards what we aim to achieve with the Bay. This is not a faction, this is a community that retains no rights over your characters, the only thing we would love to have is your support.)) https://discord.gg/cfMmJXsWmC

  6. GTAW is the only server where I've seen the staff team grow and grow yet the amount of work that gets done seems to be less and less. And I know somebody is reading this and immediately rage typing about how much hard work staff does that we don't see or that they are volunteers. Frankly I don't really care and neither should you. This server is unable to meet it's most basic management duties in a timely manner, that's unacceptable for a community with thousands of players that generates tens of thousands of dollars in donations a year. The worst part, on top of that there seems to be a never ending and always changing amount of bureaucratic hoops to jump through to get anything done. Something that only puts more strain on the staff team by creating more work to sift through. It's ridiculous how many times I've seen someone report a situation only for it to take so long for staff to address it that said situation spirals into two more reports and a CK appeal. Whatever staff is doing, its not working and I hope a serious discussion is had within staff about find a solution. But it's become very clear to me as a player that the entire system of how staff operates needs to be reworked from the ground floor because this issue is systemic.

  9. Despite IC conflict I’ve only had pleasant quality roleplay with this faction. Keep it real homeboys 😎

  10. Letting a bunch of crime grinders go wild across the entire city will result in people not bothering to stay outside. Any minute spent outside is bearing the risk of being robbed or kidnapped by a four deep sedan looking for a quick lick and PF guns. Crime GRIND has something to do with it and cannot be denied. It is one of the four listed factors that contributed towards the decline of outdoor roleplay being as bad as needing flat out bans added to the server rules.

  12. Thankfully there's a new bill that will help you out for next time I can't help but feel that every one of these discussions is a stalemate because the people who're the problem don't read the forums nor would they care if they did. I'd assume most people who post actively on the forums care about GTA:W as a community (enough to voice their opinion on things at least) and the people who are the source of these problems aren't necessarily the people we'd be arguing with anyway.

  14. Overall, I'd say that people should focus more on character development beyond drug sales and crime. Live life by the day, not by the crime. EDIT: On top of that, there's no need to rush everything. You don't need to fulfill any of your "desires" in the first week or first month of your character's development. Make room for passive RP in-between every thing. Space it out.

  16. You should care about the volunteer work being done by the staff. They, in part, make your experience here possible and prevent the server's environment from descending (further) into complete chaos. Essentially, that chaos, is what you can expect on every single other server currently in existence. Administrators put their free time into helping the community keep itself together, and I believe they deserve a little more respect. Remember, you are donating money, not paying for a service where support staff are at your beck and call. As for the bureaucracy, paperwork, applications, and work needed to sift through reports and so on. You realize that this is not present just to annoy people, right? It is present to keep things fair. Almost all this experienced bureaucracy is in place in order to keep the playing field level for everyone. Many of goals that these systems have are intangible and hard to turn into a one-liner response that sounds good in a discussion. However, they are important. That application required for the hearse? That's in place so that it isn't used as a tool to troll other players. We both know, they'll be used to taunt players in some conflict with another group of players. Not characters, because realistically that'd never happen, but players. Can that list be refined and improved, sure. However, it is there for a reason. If you have a view point to contribute on what should be on the list, then make a set of suggestions. Leaving a comment in a random thread isn't going to reach Property Management. The application required for that house or business? That's in place to keep the distribution of limited properties fair for other players who might also wish to apply for the same property. This keeps the quality of roleplay and the business concepts at a high quality, so people don't turn every single building into a casino or a bar, even if the exterior is completely unsuitable for this. This is the grand scheme of things that is important for the server, but which you don't necessarily experience first hand right away. Keep this in mind when you feel like you're jumping through hoops. They're there to keep things fair for everyone, not to annoy you for no reason. Do there need to be improvements? Sure, we all know the waiting times are sometimes very lengthy. I don't like the new trend that forum reports are picked up with "It has been a month, are you still interested in pursuing this?" as a first reply by administrators. But they're doing the best they can without burning themselves out. Instead of complaining about staff, try to see how you can contribute yourself. Trouble with applications for properties, houses, or vehicles? Ask for help! Fellow players and staff members will be happy to get you going. This is not like the server application where you have to do everything by yourself. Try to understand what Property Management is attempted to learn from you, and fill in your applications accordingly. The forum reports taking so long to be handled? Next time you are involved in one, simply state your side of the story and stop replying. These reports take so long because people argue with each other over and over again, helping no one. Maybe not you personally, but you know every second report ends like this. Apply for staff! Each month, staff members retire (or are removed 😔) and the team can use new volunteers to help ease the workload of all other staff members. Do you want to improve the situation? Start helping out. This is a lot harder than creating a thread and complaining about the situation, but unlike doing that, applying actually helps everyone. Don't get me wrong. Many posts here have valid concerns and waiting times are long. However, please don't blame ordinary administrators for this. If anything, direct your energy towards management. But even better, help out with suggestions, guides, helping new players, helping any players, applying for staff, etcetera. Anything that makes the life of the average administrator a little easier when it comes to their work here, helps the entire population.
