  1. Hey guys, You all know me as the former assistant head of IFM. Recently, I was put in charge of illegal faction management. I appreciate the trust that management is placing in me in this new position. I have plenty of ideas, many of which have been requested for some time. Here's a list of my priorities, this list is not exhaustive. There is no timeline for these changes. Some of these changes have already been executed in practice. Flesh out faction requests I think faction requests are one of our more interesting opportunities here on GTAW. No other server has allowed this degree of creativity before. With this in mind, I want to promote long-term use of faction requests by groups that are creative in their methods. We'll be standardizing rules for faction requests, as obviously we need some sort of in-game illegal action to represent money making. No illegal faction will inherently be forbidden from making numerous illegal scheme requests, HOWEVER, we will develop a format for each faction to make. Each faction will submit a central "hub" thread with their faction's name and then deliver a new application through that thread. The main post shall have a tracker to record each scheme. With the expansion of the faction requests system, we will develop internal roadblocks for "off-map" schemes. This would probably involve a random number generator. Certain schemes that rely on an off-map source of income could result in law enforcement attention, and one of the inherent risks we'd offer is an off-map regulatory agency informing local police. This is all contextual, of course. Reform suppliers Given the value supplied by cigarettes and weapon specialists, IFM doesn't see the need to restrict these applications to a quarterly application system. Therefore, we will be opening these applications on a rolling basis. In addition, our new idea for gun supplier will be to open many small "minor" supplier routes as opposed to giving each new gun supplier a default of 40 guns to start with. This is to better saturate the economy across the board as opposed to having numerous big players deciding where all of the weapons go. Conventional 60-gun suppliers will exist, and a "minor" gun supplier will eventually be upgraded to a "major" gun supplier. Historically, supplier has been abused by people arranging OOC deals. I will say outright I have a zero tolerance policy for our suppliers breaking any rules. From hereon, any violation of rules, up to an including an ajail, will result in a loss of the supplier status. This is a very important and critical role for the server. A supplier wields massive power in who they choose to sell to and who they associate with. Suppliers must set a positive example for the server. With the updated drug script, certain drugs are very powerful in use. Certain drugs, for instance, has many effects other drugs don't have. In order to avoid establishing a "meta" drug, we're limiting the supply of these drugs internally. In addition, we will be pushing to roleplay actual supply drops again. Reform IFM Council The IFM Council has existed for some time but mainly as a vestigial entity that is occasionally used for advice on implementing new systems. I want to see this function expanded. The IFM Council should be formalized on the forums as a neighborhood watch. IFM has always been very much a regulatory body as opposed to a proactive enforcement body. By formalizing the council on the forums, this gives us a great component to help IFM run smoothly. Listed Concepts IFM will likely develop a list of guidelines for newly submitted factions on concepts we will never approve, in this way we won't waste anyone's time. Obviously, for some time we have forbidden the creation of Yakuza or Norteno factions.

  2. Humad Adam and IMEX Motorsports keep on trucking to seize inaugural SAASCAR race at Vinewood Racetrack Los Santos, San Andreas, Release: July 5, 2021. IMEX Motorsports driver Humad Adam wins the first race of the SAASCAR season at Vinewood Racetrack, whilst teammate Benjamin Lucas seizes pole position. San Andreas racing fans upon on an old-school "rock em sock em" stock car race at Vinewood Racetrack on Saturday. IMEX Motorsports was represented by Benjamin Lucas, driving the Bravado Gauntlet affectionately known as "Rocky", and Humad Adam, driving "Nintendo". The eventual champion on the day nearly missed making it to track on time, clearing the gate by mere seconds as eight pitcrews put finishing touches on cars and eighteen drivers suited up for the day's practice session. In a scene that harkened back to the good old days of "door-banging action", Adam had no choice but to change into his racing gear inside the IMEX Gauntlet. IMEX Motorsports dominated Saturday's qualifying session, locking out the front row with their red and white cars, as Lucas narrowly edged-out Adam for the pole position. Starting their qualification laps near the mid of the pack, Lucas and Adam were initially uncertain about their times, with Lucas letting his crew know that his nerves were kicking in. However, when SAASCAR President Michael Peretti accounted that IMEX had locked the leading spots, the team's pitbox erupted with a roar of elation and exhilaration. According to race officials, Lucas clocked a flying lap of 29.739 seconds and Adam was locked-in at 29.868. Expectations of the IMEX team skyrocketed as the race approached, with Lucas telling LSNN reporter Carry Saunders "First of all, thanks to everyone watching. And, well, we're all very hyped for this moment. It's a new experience for us and we expect a clean race." "We aim for a good result, we have the toughest of opponents out there," commented Lucas. "But a podium is our goal, for sure." Although a podium was in the cards for IMEX, things were far from certain throughout the affair. IMEX driver Lee Williams was an unexpected no-show, leaving the team with only two cars, and the race was marred with crashes and pile-ups, resulting in numerous red and yellow flags. The race was the first of the season for SAASCAR, a spirited league founded by Peretti in an attempt to introduce a fresh racing series to Los Santos. At times events seemed as if they were close to spiraling out of control, with only eight of fifteen cars finishing the race. However, under Peretti's unity of command, dedicated staff, and volunteers from the Los Santos Fire Department, the public was treated to nearly four hours of raucous racing this Fourth of July Weekend. With only a few laps to go, IMEX Motorsports seemed destined for a one-two finish. However, Lucas' luck ran out deep in a corner, resulting in crash that sent the IMEX Logisitcs veteran trucker — and former rally car racer — to hospital for minor leg injuries. Stunned at the turn of events, the IMEX pitcrew rallied Adam onwards, with Crew Chief Jessie Rice keeping Lucas on the line just as Adam captured the checkered flag and brought in the win for the whole team. "We kept our cool and our practice sessions paid off. It wasn't just me but the whole team working in sync," a champagne-soaked Adam told Saunders upon the podium. With the conclusion of the race, Adam leads the Driver standings with 28 points, ahead of Wyatt Hayes of Hawaiian Snow Racing Team, and Dustin Rivers of Syndicate Motorsports. The latter team leads the team standings with 28 points, ahead of IMEX with 20. The next SAASCAR regional race, the Blaine Aviation Challenge, is slated for July 17, at Blaine Aviation Airfield. IMEX Motorsports driver Humad Adam upon the podium with "Nintendo", after winning the inaugural SAASCAR race at Vinewood Racetrack, July 3, 2021 IMEX Motorsports is a subsidiary of IMEX Logistics, one of the region's premier trucking firms. Recruited mainly from a community of past and present IMEX employees, the team is proudly sponsored by the Los Santos Auction House. IMEX Motorsports is always looking for energetic members, sponsors, and partners who value teamwork, respect, civility, integrity, and responsibility. If you feel you would like to connect with the team, please get in touch!

  4. Harvey Apa From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Harvey Apa (born July 4, 1981) was born in a small home on South Bucknell St, off Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia. A product of a broken household, the adolescent Apa was an underachiever in St. John Neumann Catholic High School. All three of his sisters attended the school’s segregated female counterpart, St. Maria Goretti High. Truancy and regular tempered outbursts plagued Harvey’s early educational career and at age sixteen he left the Philadelphia school system with little to no academic exit velocity. Having already been acquainted at a young age with his eldest brother George "Gerry" Apa’s affiliates, Harvey began working for alleged Philadelphia acting captain Baby Dom Grande. In August 2005, Apa moved across the Delaware River to the city of Camden in Southern New Jersey. While initially keeping close ties to his former associates, Harvey began running a sports book in parts of Camden and Atlantic City. Much to the dismay of his cohorts in Philadelphia and South Jersey, Harvey frequently partnered with members of both the New York Colombo family and New Jersey’s own DeCavalcante family in the northern territories of the Garden State. It is here that authorities believe Apa began a close working relationship with Colombo bookmaker Albert Pavesi. Nicodemo dispute It is rumored that in 2008 Apa entered a dispute with the prime suspect in the 2003 murder of John "Johnny Gongs" Casasanto - Philadelphia Soldier Anthony Nicodemo. It is believed Pavesi defended Apa in a meeting with Grande to settle the Nicodemo dispute. Anthony Nicodemo has since been charged in association with the murder of drug dealer Gino DiPietro in 2012. After the alleged meeting between the Colombos and Grande, Harvey Apa has been observed working much more closely with the New Jersey family, leading authorities to believe an agreement had been reached that moved him North to avoid further conflict.

  7. As an El Paso native and a Juarez-grown kid, I've been waiting to see a good portrayal of Beltran-Leyva splinters, Linea, Juarez, Z42's Zetas, etc. They don't allow Norteno factions, but I hope they make an exception for this group. I like the approach to setting up smuggling, etc. On another note, I think that you could really benefit from shifting from a focus on specifically Zetas (who primarily do human and drug trafficking now, with La Linea doing a majority of the killing in Chihuahua y Coahuila) to eventually bringing in characters that will bring the Zetas close allies Juarez into the picture. Zetas are full of infighting, have been since before the days of Z40, but even under El Rana they're killing each other over territory in Mexico and it's been part of how Juarez has stepped up to fill the Beltran-Leyva power vaccum with Linea as its' right hand. That's another way for you all to keep yourselves small and split off from the main Cartel, and give way for you to seek out allies in the most unlikely of places... It'd be cool to see you all display that internal instability, and perhaps have even sought out LS in part due to that strife. I like the idea, and am happy to see some dudes trying to put forth a solid portrayal.

  10. Out of Character Our vision is to role-play a group of loosely affiliated characters with no strict connection to an actual La Cosa Nostra outfit. We are not in the 60's or a 90's movie anymore, we are aiming to portray realism in today's criminal underworld. There are different avenues of earning and making money today rather than extortion and selling firearms. We do not want people joining and expecting to be spoon fed role-play scenes as we focus solely on the development of our characters from an in-character standpoint. This means you are to role-play your character to the fullest extent. Do not rush your development by any means, keep a realistic timeline of activities, role-play certain flaws, and remember your character is human. The start of this faction is focused on character development and the progression of the main characters. We are role-playing a loose connection to any sort of "real" La Cosa Nostra outfit in the United Sates. We are not starting out as a crime family or organization with the goal of realism in mind. The whole idea is to develop something from an in-game/in-character standpoint and go with the flow of the characters and development with the backstory we have created. We welcome all players who are trying to role-play with us, but you must remember that all progression takes place in-character. Try and have a specific goal for your character in mind, do not come with the idea that we will guide you in-character to obtain a specific job. You must have screenshot permission to post on our thread. That can be obtained by messaging any of the leadership figures via the forums or on Discord. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to @Peter DiFeo or @Frank Sala.

  11. Los Santos celebrates Independence Day By PHOEBE HOLTER Los Santos, SA - The Fourth of July is a special date in our national calendar: Independence Day. For Americans across the nation, the date marks a federal holiday, an important historical touchstone and a reason to celebrate. The party spirit was definitely in the air in Legion Square in downtown Los Santos, as crowds flocked to enjoy celebrations organized by the local government and supported by numerous local businesses. Stalls for businesses such as Habeeb Taxis, Holland Private Security and other local businesses were present, as well as local public service agencies such as the LSSD and the LSFD. Local officials such as the newly inaugurated Mayor Marcus Cambridge were seen at the event, as well as a wide variety of law enforcement officers. As the night drew in, artists such as DOUX kept the crowd dancing and a firework display took place. Across the city in Little Seoul, many chose to mark Independence Day in a different way. A night market was held, where vendors from the local community sold their wares from pop-up tents and towards the end of the night, DJ Oro took to the stage to entertain the crowds gathered there. No matter how you choose to celebrate, whether it’s a cracking open a cold beer in your yard in Paleto Bay, dancing the night away in Legion Square or chilling with your friends in K-Town, LSNN wishes everyone a happy Independence Day! 12. I feel long emotes with excessive needless fluff are tiresome to read through. And short emotes with absolutely no content are repetitive and don't really bring your character to life. Both ways are kind of robotic. You can often compensate for it with other type of roleplay for example cracking jokes/flirting/being rude or something. I think you should focus on bringing quality to short emotes. "/me laughs." is kinda meh. "/me laughs heartily." is already better and tells you about the way someone laughs. "/me booms with laughter!" is getting more unique and descriptive without cluttering the chat screen. You can of course also always put a lot of details in long emotes but that seems better suited for special situations and not in mass events with a lot of people. And personally I'm too lazy for it.

  13. It depends on the situation & the pace of said situation. If you're in a slow, steady paced RP scenario such as a job interview: Develop your me's, add as much detail as you can, convey your characters actions to the best of your ability. This just immerses everyone abit more, it takes more time, but it ultimately makes the RP.. Better. Gives people a better feel for your character, how they act and what not. For the love of god though. Do /not/ type things like "/me thinks about the sundae he had an hour ago.." All that does is make people more prone to MG- Asides from that, it makes your character less interesting. People already know /why/ and /what/ said character is thinking about.. Meaning there's no point in trying to figure out said situation RPly. If you're in a more fast pace scenario, say a shootout, you'd want to be more specific, straight to the point. I think the trick in being a good Rper in terms of detail etc is just deciding when it's necessary and when it's not. You've gotta read the room, see when the detail is welcome, see when it's not.. That's just my opinion though.
