  2. Cocaine Flows to Albanian Groups In 2016, as Colombian cocaine production skyrocketed, trafficking to European countries picked up amid increasing demand. Italy's 'Ndrangheta, while continuing to dominate European cocaine distribution, could not manage these huge quantities alone, and Colombian suppliers began seeking additional partners, including the well-positioned Albanian groups. Research from a previous InSight Crime investigation into cocaine trafficking from Ecuador revealed that Balkan syndicates sourced cocaine in Ecuador’s department of Sucumbíos, which borders Colombia. An alliance between the Colombian crime group La Constru and former members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia – FARC) controlled drug smuggling into Sucumbíos from the Colombian border department of Putumayo, with La Constru charging international traffickers depending on the delivery point. An ex-FARC leader in Putumayo was also reported as supplying traffickers from the Balkans with four to six tons of cocaine every month. In recent years the group members of Albanian descent have expanded their criminal activities in the European Union, reads a Europol report on EU organized crime. Being active mostly in Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom but also in the United States of America. The Albanian Mafia is composed of several major organized groups, which in turn have wider networks throughout Europe and have even reached as far as North and Central America. Including major heists and some of the biggest scams in history, the Albanian and Albanian-American organized crime groups are known worldwide for arms and drugs trafficking as well as pimping and extortion. Gangs are very organized, have codes of silence and distinct mob-related tattoos. Police in the USA who have dealt with a violent wave of Albanian gangs said that "The Albanians are one of the hardest criminal enterprises to crack due to the fact that they usually only deal with other Albanians and can be extremely smart and violent when needed. Albanian gangs in the USA are different than those in the EU, wherein the USA, the mafia has built many lucrative pacts with major crime families all over the country but the most important being the Colombian cartels who control coca production. Huge shipments were arranged directly from South America. ". In the United States, the term "Albanian Mafia" may include or refer specifically to various Albanian-American organized crime groups, such as the Rudaj Organization, Balaj Organization, Berisha Organization, Albanian Boys, based in New York City, State of Michigan, or San Andreas. Albanian-American crime groups vary in the extent of their connections to Albanian mafia groups in Albania or Europe, ranging from loosely connected to or mostly independent of Albanian mafias in Europe to being essentially American extensions of European Albanian mafia groups. 4. Short description: Detailed description: From that previous suggestion, /lock, /engine & /carsign was added to the arsenal of available commands for employees of the dealership. This time around I am here to promote two features that the script lacks and should have in my opinion allowing the employees to open without having to have the owner around. Currently the in order for employees to be able to open the car lot without assistance of the owner of the vehicles listed in the shop, the owner has to create a business garage, /dsadd the car to the script, then /vbusiness [business id] the car to the business garage, allowing for employees to spawn the car, when they sell, they de-spawn and client buys it via script, which is more hassle than it should be, business garage is more to store vehicles for the business itself not vehicles that are on sale. My current suggestion is to add ability for employees to open the dealership without having the owner do that via script, moreover, adding a car to business garage and then selling via the dealership script does not remove the car from business garage (I encountered a few vehicles that were linked indirectly like that when you did /engine). This suggestion focuses only on adding 3 commands to allow employees do their work and actually make it reasonable to hire employees to do the work. Since the original suggestion it has been over 8 months now: At the time Nervous said it will be added to the 2-do list, but not immediately, I believe it is time to add the other things that were mentioned here and in the original suggestion. Also, making that the Y menu will require an /orderaccept from an employee to prevent people coming in, checking the list with 0 roleplay. Commands to add: /dsget - Same command as /vget but applies to cars that are in the dealership script, any employee can spawn the cars for sale, has to be on shift, if no employees on shift car is auto-despawned to prevent abuse, if owner spawned car via /vget then start-shift does not apply here. /dspark - same as /vpark but for the dealership cars. /dsv [price] [target] - Allows a supervisor and above (player who is owner can use /sv) to sell the car at an assigned price manually, which will register the sale as if it was done via the CEF menu, will pay out the employee who sold a % of the sale based on settings done in /bmanager. /dsv [target] - Allows an employee to sell a car directly to another player with the price listed on the script when added by owner of the car. /dsvlimit [percent 1~100] - limits employee on how low he can price the car when he's selling it, meaning any price higher than this percent won't allow him to sell. For example, car is listed for $60,000 on the system, /dsvlimit is set to 10 percent, meaning car can not be sold less than $54,000. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? Additional features to an already existing system that lacks those features. Additional information: I will tag a few people who I know that they run a dealership: @Hawken/Moscropp @mj2002 @The.Godfather

  5. The Chaldean Mafia was first picked up by the sights of law enforcement agencies in the suburbs of Detroit in the mid to late 1980s; since then, the organization has grown into having multiple cells within the United States. The figurehead Akrawi family maintained Detroit as the capital of the Chaldean underworld. With various cells within the American South-West, cities like Phoenix and San Diego became significant hubs for the nationwide drug distribution ring that the Akrawi family set up. While the Akrawi family ran the show for most of the organization from Detroit, two competing cells within the southwest, each ran by their own respective families, the Kanon and Brula families. With Kanon controlling the border-based distribution hub in El Cajon or, as it is referred to as by members of the Kanon cell, "Ishtar Gate." El Cajon would first receive most of all product coming in from south of the border, and then narcotics would later see their way into cities like San Diego and Phoenix. While Kanon and his cell controlled the initial entry points at the border for their drugs, the nationwide distribution would primarily occur within Phoenix, where the Brula cell of the Chaldean mob handled transportation and distribution. The two groups would always undertake clandestine action against each other, leaving a few bodies and a trail for law enforcement to follow. With internal issues starting to affect profit, Detroit made its stance on the matter clear when members of the Brula inner circle were marked for execution for their involvement in skimming off the top. However, rumors within the Kanon-controlled cells point to it being a scandal staged by the Kanon cell and members of the Akrawi family themselves. After settling internal affairs and renegotiating terms between San Diego and Detroit, Kanon's faction saw themselves in charge of distribution for the Akrawi. With an increase to his power base, Kanon began to expand his cells further away from the border to control distribution and supply within cities like Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. However, his plans for grand expansion were soon cut short after 2011's Operation Shadowbox, which left multiple critical members of his organization facing federal charges and disrupted a vital aspect of the smuggling operation. Operation Shadowbox's effects would last years on Kanon's organization, and its impact on the Chaldean mob's income would be felt throughout the nation. Akrawi, not pleased with hearing that their subordinates in the southwest were unable to take care of business, began to get more involved with the distribution operation. This action only caused more of a rift as Akrawi backed cells within the southwest were moving into areas that Kanon and his faction of Chaldeans used to control. Having more and more areas of control near the border taken away from him, Kanon focused his expansion onto Los Santos as he backed members of his family who were once again tasked with distribution within the city. However, expansion into the Los Santos area only led to more doors being opened for the Los Santos-based Gardo cell began a series of criminal operations from drug distribution to a direct part within an international car theft and exportation ring. With new avenues of income coming out of the Los Santos drug trade and their involvement in one of the city's car theft rings, the Gardo cell grew in prominence within the Kanon faction of the Chaldean Mafia. 7. Old Time Goths Stomp Downtown, The Weasels Panic By Raoul DeSavio I’ve spent the last few nights hiding in a secure refuge from the city’s worst. Trying to both survive and to dig into the minds of two important people behind the Goth scene in Los Santos. They are Evanglyn Blackwood and Lin. Both are characters in their own right and I had little issue or complaint sitting across from them and asking these questions. The conversations I’ve had with these two have been sublime. What makes them who they are will be explored in another time, for now we dig into their thoughts on the subculture and how it’s carved an existence into the city. Raoul(R): What would you say is the most important aspect of your subculture here in the city? Evangyln Blackwood(EB): What is that even meant to mean? Lin(L): Like... R: What appeals to you being goth? L: What makes it better than other- yeah. Gonna be honest? Like. Getting left alone. People uh… They’re kinda just- put off. Uncomfortable. The music’s a good plus. R: I think most people see Goth and think, yanno, occult lifestyles. What would you say about that… Stereotype? L: Lotta overlap, nothing like… Definite? Like… mm. Most chicks I know who believe in ghost’ll show up in black lipstick, but no’ all chicks in black lipstick do ghosts. Trucks are cars, cars aren’t trucks sorta deal? R: Would you say that music is important to the image? L: Yeah- yeah. Very. Well. I think so at least. Lotta people really just like not having to pick any matching colors. EB: Music important to the image, yes. Very. Mmm… I can't imagine the goth scene without the music. It drove it forward, by the ah- Goth music is to the goth scene as punk music is to the punk scene. L: ...Yeah. Without music's just kinda... A bunch of pale people in leather. And they call that something else. R: Give me some musical recommendations. EB & L: Sister’s of Mercy is the original. Good place to start. L: The Cure’s a good classic. Siouxsie and the Banshees… Those’re like. Classic. EB: Okay, so yes. Then there’s also the industrial side. KMFDM. Die Krupps… Skinny Puppy and Nine Inch Nails. And Modern stuff? She Past Away, Boy Harsher, Drab Majesty, Lebanon Hanover.Perturbator’s new album. Author’s Note: At some point a remix of the Luigi’s Mansion Theme song started playing on the radio. R: Fuckin' adore Robert Smith... Do you have any advice for those who might be reading this later. Those who feel lacking or lost. L: Thats's kinda a big one. EB: I'm not a goddamned guru philosopher. I can’t fix other people’s problems. Find community. Stop being a stranger. L: Yeah. Don't be alone, like- no matter how... weird. Just. Find people. EB: Yes, that. I don't know. L: ...Man, I'm barely keeping my own head on straight. R: Well to get personal, I’ve appreciated the kindness you’ve shown me. Last question: A lot of men in the city have an objective fascination with the women in the culture. Do you consider this empowering? L: ...Kinda, yeah. EB: Yes. Come to Mission Row, spend your money on us and be scowled at and given icy looks. Convince yourself it was worth it. L: Like, lil’ objectifying at times, but like. Hearing a dude just yell to his bros, “Fucking love goth chicks, on God.” She begins grinning wide. “When- Yes. I was an absolute bitch. ‘S got some charm.” EB: It does. Maybe. I've gotten this far. Author’s Note: At this moment we paused to allow nearby gunfire to die down before picking back up. R: Anyway! More questions. L: ...More questions. R: Sorry, I'm a glutton for it all. Either way, ahh, easy enough... What's been the biggest hurdle for you all here? EB: The crime rate, I didn't even need to hesitate for that one. This city's a hellscape. L: Wasn't even manageable in Burton. EB: When it gets to the point you have an incident every single opening, there is something wrong with your management or the city. And I know it's not management. Crimerate’s easily the worst thing though, yeah. L: Easily. Couldn’t even keep it low in Burton. Can’t even walk down the street. R: So your club gets harassed a lot on this level? EB: We have good security. Shit happens occasionally. But It's handled. Mostly brawls outside, drunks, or shootings in the parking lot between one group of fuckwits and another. Gangbangers attribute to most of our incidents. R: So the usual, annoying bullshit? EB: Yeah. Pretty much. Think of it as the kind of shit that happens to most clubs, but amplify it by five times as much and that’s Los Santos clubs. R: Mhm. I’ve been trying to compartmentalize it as some kinda’ island madness. L: Isolationism? Huh. Could be. R: Would you like to kick a hornet’s nest and make a statement for all the animals out there? If not, moving along… Any plans for expansion? EB: I don’t kick hornet’s nests. Fuck around and find out. As for expansion? Why? I don’t need to. I’m downscaling. L: ‘s uh… carefully handled club. Not really the kinda thing that’d expand well. R: I appreciate that answer. Here’s a dramatic follow up my boss would be proud of: planning on selling anything? EB: Selling anything… Rogue Vogue in Burton. L: Yeah. Historically a gay bar. Central city, busy corner. EB: Want it to go back to someone with the balls to run an LGBTQ Bar. L: Yeah it’s uh- seriously. Lotta people’ve tried to run one in the city. ‘S an undertaking. All the normal club bullshit, amplified twenty times. EB: Yes. Once it’s out of my hands it’s not my problem anymore though. L: Yeah. Just wanna find someone that can handle it while it /is/ in our hands. R: Mhm. I imagine the bigots and weasels swarm jus’ to get their rocks off being antagonistic. L: Yep. EB: Yep. Pretty much. L: Like I said the last time. Armani suits. Author’s Note: Referencing a previous conversation. Quality of suit clearly doesn’t equal quality of character. R: What would bring you peace of mind? EB: I don’t think that’s attainable on this island, but if I’m being frank with you. The national guard patrolling the streets. R: Are you going to throw on an old fascist officer’s uniform and stomp around with a crop tucked under your arm while they march? EB: I’ll happily live under martial law if it means I’m less likely to be stuck up outside one of my businesses at seven in the morning. Or… Random gunfights in Legion Square. L: I’ve been shot once. Like. They weren’t even shooting at me? Just like. They missed. ‘S hard to avoid. EB: Peace of mind… Even with private security, it isn't really. R: Yeah. Sorry. The sarcasm’s my naivety. I can at least recognize why you’d feel confident enough saying such radical things. EB: Why do you think I’m always here in this nuclear bunker of an office building!? I can’t be outside without dying. R: You know the Governor is comin’ down? Excited to tour the city’s newest enforcement equipment and facilities. EB: Ah. He’ll need at least a motorcade. R: Think that’s where all my stress is pouring from… Numbing to hear about the publicity tour and an hour later have you compare the city’s crime to a third world country. EB: It’s worse than a third world country. I find bodies on the side of the road and it’s not even a shock anymore. I call them in and keep driving. But whatever. Nowhere can be perfect. R: Would you guys ever leave the city though? EB: Uh. I have too many assets here. L: Man. Dunno where I’d even live otherwise. Grew up here. R: You can say friends. I won’t add it to the paper. EB: I didn’t stutter. R: I’ll replace assets with friends just to spite you then. EB: Friends. I have a few good friends. R: I would hope so. I couldn’t imagine being where you were without someone. And now for one last horrible, gossip question. One I’m already more of a fan of the answer: Is there anyone out there who has outwitted you, Eva? EB: Uh. Yes. Probably. L: ...Nobody that’d be good to put in the paper. EB: Yeah exactly. I had an epiphany at some point where I realized these questions were almost more for me than any magazine. I’m still a stranger in a strange land. A pilgrim told me that the west is the best, but I'm quickly learning that is hardly the case and pilgrims are lying bastards… These days if it isn’t wearing tie-dye or black lipstick you can’t trust the culture it comes from. 8. Are nightclubs still appealing? Why clubs could be failing to attract new customers By Nina Garavano While club owners invest a lot of money to make their clubs look like worlds from fantasy movies, they fail to attract new visitors. Friday night, I wear the shortest miniskirt I can find in my closet and get together with my friends to visit a popular nightclub. We are here for one reason, to have the time of our lives, to flirt, to mingle with the locals. To my surprise, when we entered the club I saw a strange place, it looked more like the world of Avatar (yes, the blue aliens movie) than a nightclub. Exotic plants, illuminated by LED lights of different colors decorated a huge pool, surrounded by rocks and even petrified animals. Next to the pool, an empty bar and empty deck chairs made me feel like I was on a strange desolate planet. According to our last poll, 90% of voters claimed that nightclubs got boring already. These are shocking figures that show how much this industry is suffering lately. Why are clubs failing to attract new customers? Some people claim that DJs are the problem, this is what they say: “DJ [name that's easily forgotten in a month] at [flavor of the week nightclub]?! What a thrilling experience. Said no one ever. Boring.” “Carbon copies of each other with the same DJ spinning the same set from a month ago with minimal mixing and subpar playlist.” “Boring as fuck without a DJ that knows their shit. Been to a couple and it feels like I'm at an obscure slavic club with all the weird Euro-centric EDM.” “I can count on one hand the amount of clubs that bring a great experience and atmosphere. Rest of it is a sad place of some greedy cash grabbers who are blinding us with coloured lights.” “Nightclubs can be cool, but somehow the only clubs I run into are playing terrible music, not to shade any DJs out there, but I think clubs should be playing popular modern music, unless there's a different theme, something that everyone knows, hits etc. It gets a little tiring when every club is playing the same EDM or house! Ji-Ok passes by this rule though, the only club Ican come into and actually feel like I'm in a nightclub.” We asked DJs about their opinion, DJ Vivi said that “It’s a tough one cause most clubs (and people) want you to play edm/rave music, so it's the same shit over and over and that’s not my forte but I guess you can’t please everyone.” DJ Alana claimed “It depends on many factors like: club atmosphere, music genre and DJ skills. I don't wanna point out several people, but 90% of LS DJs using automix feature is what makes DJ's work pretty shitty. It's like the difference between sex with live person and masturbation using any sex toy. Toys may help you in some kind, but any person, depending on how good he/she is in bed - will be much better.” No matter how exotic and fancy clubs look, I believe they have no personality of their own. They all rotate the same DJs that are in the city at any given time playing the same music we’ve listened to over and over. We have a lot of clubs in Los Santos, but they end up feeling the same because they're run by the same group of people with no effort to differentiate each other. There are some exceptions to the rule, the previously mentioned Ji-Ok and the Crypt have personalities on their own. And to be fair, I’ve witnessed great parties in mainstream clubs on some particular occasions; but if you plan to be a usual club goer, I assure you that you’ll find clubs boring pretty easily. > Comments are enabled Username: Comment:
