  2. Hello, I've been witnessing the past months more and more toxicity and attacks from every sides of the community against each others. I'll be very honest with you, as someone who is active in every sides and discords of the community, it really affects me to read hate messages everyday. The final hit ocurred when we decided to display the freedom flag for few hours to acknowledge the pride month, the flow of hate that came on the Discord really made me think twice about the community I created and love so much. Was I witnessing a failure of mine? A younger generation of players prone to be more conservative and toxic? Culture shocks? I decided to put that event past me as I quickly realized I would have no ability to change people's mindset about a subject that so many cultures still ban. While I fully accept that some players aren't supporting it or live in countries where it's illegal, I still do not understand the need to spread hate instead of remaining silent. Now, the other issue I started witnessing a while back was the rise of a constant fight & hate between legal and illegal roleplayers. The usual "PD vs illegals" went worse, then SD hate was spread, and it spread over all the legal roleplayers. The same issue was witnessed on the other side : legal discords spreading hate and insults against some illegal roleplayers. On every sides that I read, the other party is always trash tier roleplayers and no effort is made further than that. A mistake from an illegal player will lead to "gang roleplayers are all trash", a mistake on an LEO side will lead to "PD trash tier faction". Every players on every sides can make mistakes, every players has their own roleplay level and skills. Generalizing to the entire faction is part of the issue. We ended up having some niche roleplayers targeted for what they like doing, and while many of us do not necessarely understand all niche of roleplays, nothing forces us to participate in that roleplay so we don't need to spread hate or insult them. Just let these players be as soon as their RP isn't shown publicly to you. In that specific issue and debate, we've decided to fully ban rape roleplay to ensure that no players would have to go through sexual roleplay even if brought by force / and any context surrounding it. While you were able to deny rape roleplay, the simple fact that you could be brought to a roleplay that would lead to it could sometime be a difficult experience for many of you. Now, you all have to understand that every sides are doing their best to improve their roleplay standards and remove bad apples. The LSPD and LSSD have drastically improved months after months following feedbacks, on pursuits, on roleplay quality, on interactions with factions. While there is still room for improvements and some officers who could not be matching the standards (they will often get removed if reported), you have to remember they are 300+ members. The same thing applies to illegals, there are dozens of gangs with some gangs being new and lacking some quality but they quickly get identified and removed/killed, some gangs with great roleplay standards but bad apples can sneak in it too and same as other factions the removal process may sometime take a while as we don't immediately remove a member for 1 mistake. Every sides are constantly doing their best, and if they're not LFM or IFM will be behind them to bring down the punishments, warnings or removals. I personally witness great people on each sides not properly understanding each others because they don't communicate about issues, and thus are just shouting at each others the same things again and again. I could take the example of IFC, which is a discord that had many sins few months ago and drastically improved. Obviously it has kept a specific mentality that doesn't fit with all players, and that's perfectly ok, but I still see players or administrators directly refering to the first illegal players breaking a rule as "it's IFC again" and attacks towards IFC just because they were once a place where some rulebreaking happened. Their improvements? "BUT IFC." This is a prime example of poor communication and lack of understanding. One could improve, it'll most of the time always seen as very bad and be attacked by haters. IFC isn't the only issue, as I also witness the same issue on the other side. Legal factions, PD, SD can be refered as shit and their daily improvements are also completely ignored. What matters is spreading the hate, again and again for no reason but to complain. As of today, I feel that the legal / illegal communication is completely cut, within members and administrators. And it is part of my fault too : I sometimes involved myself in legal too much, then in illegals, I also actively participated wrongly in some poor communication especially with PD. I believe we all have our faults to the current state of the community, but I don't want to see this divide anymore. I would like everyone to respect each others, we're all here playing an extremely niche game which is our common passion. Many of us have spent more time playing text roleplay in our life than any other kind of games, many of us escape real life complexity, difficult lives, family losses through this game that can bring so much enjoyment. You have to understand that every kind of players are needed to make a server : from legals to illegals, from young players to grandparents, from US players to Middle East players. Some people like to portray a gang member, some like to portray an exotic dancer, some want to spend $50 per month supporting the server, some live with $50 per month. It is perfectly fine, and everyone supports each others to make the game what it is today. I personally started roleplaying when I was 13, I wasn't good and I would be instantly banned here, the roleplay was very bad but at least I remember everyone helping each others out and being nice because it was new and we weren't many. I still see that on GTAW, we try to keep the forum as peaceful as possible, our discord is also okay, but we are still failing in many other parts of the community to be a peaceful and respectful place. Enough has been written by me about this issue, my speech is fully unstructured and most likely badly written but I tried to write as it came out of my mind. I would like everyone to do as much efforts as they can to stop spreading attacks, hates or insults against other players, or to actively stop others from doing so. On the administration side, I am going to restructure IFM & LFM fully to improve communication with both side, reduce the divide in the community and ensure that the new FM team will actively work in reducing conflicts / toxicty by improving communications. I am also opening a new section to report players called "Harassment report" which will be mainly handled by myself in order to protect all players against targeted harassment, and ensure that GTAW remains a safe place to play. All reports are fully hidden except to yourself and administrators. With the dating website being opened, we're also going to be way stricter on Facebrowser's pictures to ensure that it remains a "social platform" instead of a "dating platform". We invite all players who wishes to roleplay dating with their character / showing characters with a low amount of clothes to immediately redirect on the new dating application, which allows us to keep that specific roleplay in its own perimeter. We will keep having a 0 tolerance for toxicity on forum, and we will not hesitate to permanently mute toxic players from the forum if needs be. I also invite every third party Discords to actively moderate toxic content to participate in making GTAW a better place to play. Thank you, and remember that we are a very small community sharing a common passion. It is also your duty to ensure that everyone feels happy & safe while playing around you.

  4. The Front Street Watts Crips (FSWC) are an African-American street gang in the Watts part of South Los Santos. Their local spread from Brogue Ave to Roy Lowenstein Blvd, between 103rd Street to 108th road. The Front Street Crips began during the 1970s and have been dynamic for more than thirty years. The Front Street Crips are composed of several cliques like 103rd Street, 104th Street, 105th Street, and 108th Street. They are known to wear Florida Marlins baseball cap with the logo letter of "F" to show alliance to Front. They represent F Or Death, alongside Watts Franklin Square Crips and the Fudge Town Mafia Crips just as the Front Hood Compton Crips. The Front Street Watts Crips were formerly known as Stanford Avenue Watts Crips before they split from Bacc Street and started beefing them for more than a quarter century. This feud between the two gangs brought about different posse related hit and run assaults, and honest individuals being trapped in the crossfire. These two previous allies are nemeses with not a single expectation of peace. In the early/mid 1990s, the Front Street Crips has had a passing feud with the PJ Watts Crips, when a respectable member from the Front Street Watts, "Baby Dre" was shot in the Imperial Courts, leaving him incapacitated. The Front Street Watts Crips also feud with Eastside Hustler Crips, CCP, HVB, Bounty Hunter Watts Bloods, and the Village Boys Watts 13.

  5. Just going to quote Bospy here for the sake of argument: So, we are to roleplay what we see. And shouldn't pretend this city is anything other than how we actually perceive it. And we should roleplay accordingly to what we see. Now that we've got that established, lets have a look at what you see by driving through LS for an hour. People getting robbed all the time. Insane amounts of gunfire, automatic weaponry used even. Business getting extorted by Tony Spaghettio and his crew on the regular. Peoples properties being lit on fire for not going along with demands. The streets are empty, there is nearly nobody around to witness a crime happening to call 911. Countless of other things you'll see that'll make any regular and healthy human being think twice before living in Los Santos. Nobody in their right mind would live in Los Santos, if we were to take everything IC. But for the sake of argument, we'll just pretend we're on a battle royal island where there's no way out of the island so you're forced to stay here. (After all, this is what it comes down to) You're damn right I'll have every inch of my property covered by alarms, security cameras. I'll have a whole arsenal of firearms in my house to blast the first person that attempts to break into my house. If I'm standing on the street and someone I don't know approaches me in a strange manner, I will have my finger on the dial 911 button right away. If I'm not carrying a firearm at the time, or else I'd have my hand wrapped around the handle with my finger on the trigger on the ready. My point is, we're being told we have to RP what we see. We can all see that in Los Santos we should declare martial law if we're to portray the city realistically. So you can expect players to adjust to this (In my opinion horrible) way of seeing things and prepare for the worst. Because the worst happens insanely frequently. This is a direct result of the community choosing "fun" over realism. Deal with it, you can't have it both ways.

  9. Maybe if there were less criminals breaking into every property they can, less people would buy alarms. This couldn't at all be an after effect of criminal actions, not at all.

  10. IMEX Motorsports meets adversity head-on in its first live-track practice session of the SAASCAR season. Los Santos, San Andreas, Release: June 15, 2021. IMEX Motorsports, a subsidiary of IMEX Logistics, took part in its first SAASCAR practice session at Vinewood Racetrack, on Saturday, June 12, 2021. On Saturday, June 12, IMEX Motorsports participated in its first SAASCAR practice session at Vinewood Racetrack. The session was slated by league organizers as the last practice in which all teams would be able to assemble together at once, conducting trial runs, simulated qualifying sets, and practicing pitstops on a live track. In her official recap of the event, emailed to the team the following day, IMEX Motorsports Crew Chief, Jessie Rice, commended her team saying, "Thanks to you, IMEX had — by far — the best-staffed showing at the raceway! We proved to the other teams that, when it's time to 'come correct', we come together as a community. By having so many people in the field, it was also a good chance to stress-test a lot of crucial things prior to race day." IMEX Motorsports members were the first on the track and the first to have their cars ready to practice. The day was not without adversity, however, as IMEX driver, Blake Blackburn was involved in a horrific multiple roll-over incident deep in turn 3, when his red and white Bravado Gauntlet, affectionately known as "Yeti", was clipped by another car and sent hurtling into the wall. Rice recounted that "Despite Blake having an inside line, and all teams being prohibited from engaging in competitive race-style contact during practice, Syndicate drivers clipped our car and sent Blake flying in a multiple rollover accident." An official SAASCAR debrief, submitted by SAASCAR President Michael Peretti on June 12 ruled that a "possible illegal maneuver" performed by the Syndicate Motorsports car may have caused the crash but that "no further investigation is needed due to the lack of evidence". A preliminary condition inspection of the stricken Gauntlet, dated June 12, estimated the repair and rebuilding costs at over $50,000. "SAASCAR regulations require installation of a 450 cu in. V-8 with [a] league-mandated performance package to insure compliance. This will necessitate identifying an appropriately serialized block, along with supercharger and turbocharger." According to the IMEX Motorsports Crew Chief, Yeti was "catastrophically damaged from this accident", with an estimated 350 person-hours of work needed to bring it back into racing condition. "As a team, we'll have a critical decision to make on how to go forward," wrote Rice to her IMEX Motorsports teammates. "Do we try to rebuild the car, or do we consider it non-salvageable and proceed with shipping a new Gauntlet and modifying it this week." IMEX Logistics is no stranger to adversity, overcoming continuous obstacles in its two year trek. In her IMEX Motorsports inaugural address on May 29, IMEX Logistics CEO Aurora McCorkle wrote that "No other trucking company has gone through what we've gone through in the last year. We've lost close coworkers and dear friends but we will never forget them. We've rebranded but we've never lost our identity. We've fractured and frayed but we've forgiven one another and've come back stronger. We've endured leadership vacuums and ownership changes but we've never wavered and lost our way. We've moved locations but we've never forgotten who we are. We've repainted our trucks, from pure white to proud red, but we've always been the same. We're the best truckers in the region and we'll be the best team in the league." With less than a week till race day on Saturday afternoon, the members of IMEX Motorsports plan to meet further adversity head-on, overcoming even more obstacles. IMEX Motorsports driver Blake Blackburn rounding a corner during the practice session at Vinewood Racetrack, June 12, 2021.

  11. Illegal roleplayers shouldn't have to rush their roleplay or subject themselves to provide subpar roleplay because of the script setting off an alarm within two minutes of the house being broken into. There's numerous reasons as to why certain properties shouldn't have alarms fitted which alerts the police of a break in, e.g. a grow op in the middle of Grove Street. At the minute it's impossible to do any kind of property break-in due to the two minute timer that's in place. I've seen illegal roleplayers wait forty minutes for a break-in request only to have the law enforcement agencies attend the property within minutes of them being inside, which leads them to getting arrested. This is why there isn't many robbery crews (to my knowledge) on this server compared to previous servers I've played on. There's no reward for anybody wanting to roleplay a burglar. You can't even roleplay disabling the alarm, the whole system needs to be reviewed.

  12. Hey there, 1pablop. I admire the fact that you've gotten out of your way to express your frustration regarding what happened. For the sake of clarity and honesty, which your post has clearly failed to exhibit, Property Management did not take $500,000 out of your character's balance with no prior notice. You have indeed been notified, and you have, in fact, replied to me in acknowledgment. Since everything is in display and to maintain the transparency, buying a multitude of properties for the sake of just renting them out to multiple tenants at once — given the fact that most of them are one-bedroom apartments, and then selling them 14 days after in attempts of requesting a higher price is not something we appreciate. Roleplaying a landlord of multiple properties who uses a moped for transportation while being a trucker simultaneously also does not fulfill what we, as a server, collectively expect in terms of quality. My reply is not meant to disconcert you at all, but it was merely needed for the sake of transparency because of what you've shed light on. Picking the villain without offering any context is not healthy. The team caters to quality roleplay, and we do our best to support it when done correctly. In your case, our hands are always open to help your landlord roleplay when it offers quality and not just for the sake of passive income. En fin, I'd like to include the property rules hereunder for the readers — rule 1.5 - Property Owning goes over this entire subject.

  14. I think part of the problem is that a sizeable portion of the playerbase here are simply grizzled, grumpy, burnt-out veterans from old SAMP communities. While for some, GTAW is new and fresh, for these people it is not. It's a continuation of the OOC rivalries (faction and personal) that have grown and festered in other communities, over many years. Some "zero tolerance" would help root out the toxic people and stop it spreading. Nobody should be above a ban, even if they are highly respected and have run faction X, Y and Z since 2008 or whatever.

  18. Just to bring some more lights on harassment reports : They were already happening but in my PMs. It's more visible way to report now, that's all. I always did my best to look for diplomacy and communication in solving these, as straight banning the reported player may lead to way worse harassment and that's not necessary the best solution. Most of the time people aren't necessarely malicious and didn't realize their actions were affecting the targeted player that much. I'm also obviously checking evidence and versions on both sides. It's very demotivating as a server owner to come online and see toxicity, hence why I really hope we can change this for the better. But seeing the good improvements already made by some of you I'm sure we can all do better very quick.

  20. May, earlier this year, non gang banging and Hillside members of the El Burro based tagging crew “Addicted to Krime” split over a disagreement over the direction ATK was going. Members complained that they didn’t want to be gangbangers, and that they thought that it should remain about the tags. With the deaths of prominent ATK members Lil Silent, Creature and Lil Frost pushing gangbanger members deeper into the gang, ATK rid itself of the creeping influence of gangbanging and returned to its roots of being a purely tagger crew. Members are now faced with the increasing influence of Gage Maravilla members in their neighbourhood, and will probably be met with a similar crossroads again soon.
