  2. Hi folks, Seems just about right to make one of these. While some people take these topics as memes, I think it's good to have the community, the one's we are interacting with the most, be able to openly discuss the San Andreas Park Rangers, leave feedback, criticism and for us overall, to be able to adjust and become better for the community. For those that don't know, I am Pillsbury, while being a Manager here in the community, I have also been appointed recently as the Director of the Department of Fish and Wildlife, which in RP terms, oversees the San Andreas Park Rangers. The exact faction we are here to talk about today. The San Andreas Park Rangers were just recently established by Legal Faction Management in the early days of April, 2021, meaning, we have just reached our second month as an official faction supported by GTA World. The point of the San Andreas Park Rangers is to enforce and regulate the San Andreas Hunting & Animal Protection Act, however, like our real-life counterpart, the California State Parks Peace Officers - we are sworn Law Enforcement, so that we can uphold these acts, and in the middle of our daily routines, conduct Law Enforcement activates to keep crime away from the Parks. Originally the faction was opened by Bjork and Canadian, however, in early May, both of them stepped away in which I was appointed leadership. Canadian and Bjork built this Department to be the 'backbone' of Law Enforcement, not a primary force like the Los Santos Police Department the Sheriffs Department. A lot of our work that we do, is about the passive RP that comes behind it. Most of us who have joined the Park Rangers, are former members of the LSPD/LSSD - in which they wanted to take the step back constant pursuits, shots fired, and other various of calls that might become repeat behavior for an average faction member of the PD/SD. Like the State Fire Marshals, we have a specialty and one we like to continue to strive for - and that is, to keep the Parks Safe, bring RP to the Parks, and have an enjoyable time within the faction, and bring that enjoyable and fun experience to the community around us. Now-- some might ask, what is the big difference between PD, SD, and SAPR? Well, as I said - we have a general and main focus, unlike the PD/SD who have a variety of duties that come with, just being a "beat cop" as some would call it. We are not the type that are going to respond to the Domestic Disturbance in Davis, or the Assault in Mirror Park. Our jobs are to focus inside the State Parks, and the relevant Commercial Fishing areas that we have been elected to enforce. Statistically speaking, we are not here for making arrests or general enforcement of the penal code. State Park Rangers while yes, might have arrested you before, will be a way rarer of an occurrence of enforcement of the generalized penal code, then both of our primary police agencies. At the moment, our Command and Leadership strategy is to continue to show a passive roleplay presence in the State Parks and the generalized areas that we might be seen. We have a variety of divisions that have special appointments, like the Marine Unit, Animal Control Unit, In-Service Training - and on top of that, we have made a fully in-game police academy, that tests the abilities of faction members under stressful situations, and gives them an idea of policing in this server. We know our faction is a slow and boring one - so we are built off the presence of passive RP and creating an environment that you would be happy working in. It takes a special person to drive around in circles in Paleto Forest and not see a single soul for an hour, but yet, they stop on the side of the road to create constant RP for those they encounter, and for themselves. It's one of the reasons we brought an actual police academy in-game again, rather than testing only on the knowledge of learning through educational platforms, like the forums or a manual, due to the presence our Rangers will have to make. And rather them having a fulfilled Field Training Program of traffic stops, pursuits, shots fired calls, and constant calls of service - they are built from the ground up. However, the purpose of this topic is to get feedback from the community, and to see how you the community members, are feeling about us. How can we improve? Have you had a good interaction with a faction member? A bad one? We are looking for the community point of view on the faction. The one thing that I ask, is please don't troll the thread, we are looking for serious feedback and constructive criticism - we already know we are Super Rangers and Power Rangers, and fake mall cops, thank you. I appreciate all of you have given me the chance to read this, and we look forward for the community feedback. sapr.gta.world https://discord.gg/7rFKCRUfK3

  4. Juan "Skitz" Mendez († 05/29/2021) was a member of the HILLSIDE 13 street gang. At the age of sixteen Juan ran from home after his mother fell into a heavy heroin addiction following the death of his father in a work accident. Introduced to members of the gang by his long-time friend Samuel "Spooky" Herrera, Juan quickly realised that the gang is where he can find a new family. Due to his bad habit of skipping school to smoke weed with his friends, Juan eventually dropped out of high school with nothing in hand. No money, nothing - turning to live in Samuel "Spooky" Herreras garage for a long time, and selling weed in small amounts for the Street Captain of the local gang, Damian "Devil" Reyes in order to prove himself and to make a buck or two for food. Juan was never a smart guy, never really paid attention in school or skipped class entirely, so he always struggled with selling drugs, as the math of it would never quite get into his head. After proving his mettle through a small amount of sales and won fights against other gang members, Juan made it into the "Krazy Tokers" clique of the gang, where he was given the name "Skitz" for his generally fairly skittish behaviour around more well-established figures within the gang. Wether it be through small-time sales, fights or defense within the varrio, Juan eventually made his way into the big leagues, jumped into the gang through a thirteen second long beating. Time passes, and things turn bad for the gang not long after Juan is released from a short stretch in jail after evading the police, as many big figures within the gang are arrested for racketeering charges, leaving Juan in a difficult spot without anyone to reach out to outside of jail. Juan took the chance and used the time to put in work on the streets to further prove himself to his big homies, convinced they will be back out in the near future. However with tensions within the gang rising, allegations of snitching making rounds, these times were anything but easy for Juan, forcing him into a tight spot. From this point on, things only turned for the worse over time. Samuel "Spooky" Herrera - Murdered. Javier "Bandit" Huerta - Suicide. Rocio "Happy" Tamayo - Murdered. After the events surrounding these deaths, Damian "Devil" Reyes returns from jail. The leadership on the street changes. Everything went well for good a while, and the gang seemed to be back to where it stood before the arrests. After events surrounding the deaths of several members of the "Backstreet" clique the clique is reformed under a different name and leadership. There has always been tension between the two cliques for as far as Juan could remember, hower one night, an altercation between the cliques results in the death of six members of the gang, including the "Krazy Tokers"' Street Captain Alejandro "Raider" Oliveras, and Santiago "Panic" Fuentes, both members of the gang that Juan grew up with from a young age. With the gang in shambles, and his old friends dead, Juan was set out to set things right, dead-set on his goal of killing the remaining two that killed the people he grew up with. Juan found relief one night as, after a brief chase, he shot and killed one of the perpetrators, Robert "Risky" Mendez in his car. Confident and dead-set on finishing the job, he posted up and waited for the right moment, for Angel "Snoopy" Dominguez, the last remaining leader of the Fudge Lane clique. However, the moment was not right. Juan turned out to be too confident for his own good. This character was created on the 5th December 2020 and his story ended on the 29th May 2021.

  5. VESPUCCI BEACH - Vespucci Beach is a city located on the western-side of Los Santos, the city is a hot spot for street gangs such as the Insane Crip Gang, Longo 13 Gang, Asian Boyz Crip Gang, Blacc Bandit Crip Gang, Rollin' 20 Crip gang and so on. Vespucci Beach is often known for its low income housing, high crime rate and corrupt police officers. The youth of Vespucci Beach is highly inspired by the gang life, they attend local schools that are poorly funded and are gang ridden. These kids often grow up in a broken home and get no love from their abusive parents at home. In result of this they go find love else where like a street gang, they start this kind of life style at a young age which results in numerous murder cases on young teenage deaths ranging from the age of 14-17. E/S INSANE CRIP GANG - The Insane Crip Gang is a predominantly African-American street gang located on East Vespucci Beach on the West Side of Los Santos. They are a Crip gang that falls under the 3x Crip card, which means they oppose most 2x Crip gangs like the Rollin O's which are a known rival gang of the Insane Crip Gang. The street gang consist of various cliques like the Baby Insane Crip, the Young Foundation Crew and the Big Insane Crip. The Insane Crip Gang shares a close alliance with the Blacc Bandit Crip gang, they also share a couple alliances with various South Central gangs listing the Hoover Criminal Gang which makes the Hoosane alliance, another South Central alliance they share is the Inglewood Family Gangster Blood, and the Vespucci Filthy Crip Gang. Their main rivalry is the rivalry with the Rollin' 20 Crips, they have another rivalry with the Longos 13 Gang which is the biggest Hispanic gang in Vespucci Beach. They feud all West Coast Crips like the Rollin' 80 West Coast Crips, they also feud with the Bricc Boy Crips and the list goes on. INSANE CRIP V.S THE STATE - Vespucci Beach Insane Crips Leader, 15 Others Arrested The head of a Vespucci Beach gang and two deputies, along with 13 others, have been arrested for an array of crimes that include 13 shootings over several years, police announced. Those arrested are listed at the end of the article, 16 people in total, ages 18 to 29, and Los Santos Police Chief Jim McDonnell and homicide detectives detailed how the case was put together. A key early break came with forensic results that linked several shootings. Members of Vespucci Beach Baby Insane Crips gang, also known as "BIG," including its alleged leader, Sabrille Acklin, 29, were taken into custody, and two top deputies in the gang. Acklin didn't even live in Vespucci Beach but ran the criminal operating from his Rialto, San Andreas home, ordering up burglaries and murders, Vespucci Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell said at an afternoon press conference. During the investigation, detectives were able to construct a current organizational chart of the gang with the objective of tearing down its leadership and solving as many crimes as possible. Sabrile Acklin, who was identified as the leader of the Baby Insane Crip Gang, ran his criminal enterprise in Vespucci Beach from his home in Rialto. Acklin would direct his gang to target other gang members, commit robberies, burglaries, and identity theft. 6. Even though most of your roleplay circles around passiveness and interacting with one another, if the wild is somewhat empty from other players, I am yet to have a negative interaction with the Park Rangers. Being in the Sheriff's department allowed me to meet quite a few of you so far and while patrolling around or even chasing someone (i.e., Mutual Aids) have great understanding of what you're trying to squeeze out of this faction, and the player base can feel that too. Sometimes whenever I just feel exhausted from continuous active RP, I turn towards the county and patrol that area and have daily run-ins with the Park Rangers who are just passively roleplaying, yet allowing me to join in with them, once educating me on the wildlife too which was something I haven't done or experienced before, so it was very cool. Really upmost respect to you for putting all of this effort into this faction and focusing on delivering to the community on a such high level, well done.

  7. Just to add on what @CrisisGG said.. If you have a good reason why you can't use a mic then it won't be something that holds you back to joining SAPR. There are limitations on how you can operate within the sapr without mic perms. Such as can't go solo on patrol. Just because there is less shootouts doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And for those few instances which have occurred a few times it can be a necessity. From that standpoint it will not deviate like any other LEO faction in GTAW. We have I think one person with a no-mic perm within the last recruitment batch who's currently a cadet.

  9. Only nice interactions so far. I've had rangers protect me and my colleagues when we're out rescuing, and I've had a unit down to get some carcass off the road. Both interactions hinted at a high level of roleplay, and both were a pleasure. I look forward to see where you'll go in the future, and wish you the best of luck!

  14. Not joking, every time I saw a Ranger while out hiking and being a forest bum they were dealing with brain dead cat ear millionaire street racers who were just trying to bait pursuits near the lumber mill. I've had very positive role-play with the Rangers while out camping and hiking. I think you would benefit from role-playing the area as a National Park and setting up visitor centers.

  15. Honestly, might only be an occurrence to me but I was rather disappointed when I first was interested in joining but was met with a brick wall in regards to communication after I was told to reach out to people because of a denial. I spoke with people the days before my denial but suddenly when I was told to reach out to command staff in regards to my denial, everyone just stopped responding. Putting down ''may reach out to command'' but then not responding to any inquiry seems to be the complete opposite of what you expect. Then after finally getting through to someone I was told to contact another person who then simply didn't reply either. Then after pushing through at the person who did respond, I got word of the reasonings why I was denied which were to be completely false and untrue which later also got admitted to. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and did give off a very bad first impression to me. The few weeks after also made me realize that this faction isn't something for me. Anyways, as I said, might only be me that this happened to but I felt the need to at least express it. And a little tip for future publications: not every word has to be capitalized. It makes it look rather messy when there are multiple capitalizations in a sentence that are not required. The initial post here is also full with capitalizations that are not needed: ''Domestic Disturbance'' ''Assault'' ''Parks Safe''

  18. SAPR is probably the only LEO faction that I do not have to worry about what the others will judge about me on OOC basis. Everyone is friendly, every member welcomed us (Cadets, some are new to GTAW) to the faction with open arms and so many more. In addition, I am deaf which is probably known to some and, this faction, its members and leadership did their best to cater to me to a degree, especially during the academy and the whole no-mic permission thing. I am happy to be part of an LEO faction that created a friendly and welcoming environment and that everyone is here to have fun and provide quality passive LEO RP. The leadership is active and will quickly respond to your concerns. I had nothing but enjoyable times with the faction since day 1. I hope the faction will go far. 🙂

  19. I'm currently a member of the Sheriff's Department, and I must say I've had nothing but great interactions with every single Park Ranger I've met so far. The role-play has been simply amazing and as someone who mostly patrols the country side, I look forward to meeting them every single time there's an opportunity to do so. Keep doing what you guys are doing, you're awesome.

  20. Coming here from RCRP and adjusting to GTAW's LEO side of things has been a challenge but the guys in the SAPR have helped me with a lot already, always friendly and honestly the faction is like a big family. I'm super excited for what's to come, haven't had this much fun with RP in a long time, SAPR has revived my motivation all together. Plus, I love the unpredictability, it's always fun to have that little hit of adrenaline when something happens, it keeps you on your toes. I much prefer small, quiet patrols with random and unpredictable bits of action scattered about over constant action and such. Not to mention the wilderness scenery of GTA5 is underrated, I'll never get bored of cruising around the trails just enjoying the views. All in all, this faction is bloody amazing and I'm extremely stoked to see where it takes us.
