  1. You’ve probably heard this argument day in and day out on this server from a wide array of people and platforms, whether that be on discord, player reports, discussions, etc. It’s tiring to hear this because to me it’s absolute nonsense. Firstly, most people, especially before making the big decision to end somebodies life, are not going to do a full canvas sweep deeply ensuring their surroundings, understanding what is near them, and so on. If they’re in the state of mind where they are about to kill somebody, they are not thinking right. Why do administrators and other players believe that you need to do a deliberate sweep of your environment and in your mind before and after every murder. Furthermore, most gangbangers are not the smartest of people. If they were, they most of them wouldn’t be in that life, they would be out getting a PhD. You can just google “LA homicide” and see that homicides are unfortunately spiking back up in Los Angeles. I don’t doubt that quite a few of them happen at night, but a lot sure do happen at day too by sloppy people who then are caught by the police. I really think that this is entirely an IC issue, but for whatever reason it is being taken OOC heavily by administrators, and players taking it as the truth. Finally, if your main goal is to come to this thread and call out/sneak diss a certain group, person, or faction, don’t bother. I want a civil discussion to happen. Thanks.

  2. Canta Ranas Canta Ranas (Singing Frogs) is a multi-generational Latino gang in East Los Santos, founded in the late 1940s to early 1950s, it is amongst one of the oldest gangs from that area. According to locals and federal law enforcment, the gang chose the name 'Canta Ranas' due to the frogs in the area croaking loudly during heavy rains. Known as a violent gang, with many members of the organisation known to be affiliated with the Mexican Mafia and have deep roots within drug trafficking. One of the known traditions of the gang is have to 'earn your frogs', in order to have a frog tattoo'd on you. The only way these frogs are earned is through murder. In recent years however, many affiliated members of the gang were sentenced to federal prison. It was alleged at this time that 51 members of the Canta Ranas organisation were named in an indictment alleging violations of the racketeer influenced and corrupt organisations act (RICO). This was a major hit to the organisation and has attributed to a significant collapse in the organisational structure of the gang. Woody Rene 'Woody' Grajeda was born on October 12th, 1995 near El Rancho Blvd, East Los Santos. Raised in an area known to be at the time dominated by the 'Canta Ranas' (Singing Frogs) gang, Woody was indoctrinated into the gang life like many others from his family. Having a relatively troublesome upbringing plagued by neglect and abuse, Woody turned to alcohol and drugs as a form of escape from the obstacles of life set before him. From his early teenage age, Woody has been addicted to heroin and this continues to be a vice that dictates almost every area of his life. Amplified by his dedication to his gang and neighborhood, Woody was eager to make a name for himself in his neighborhood which in turn lead to him being charged with kidnapping and getting federal prison time. During his time in prison, Woody made aquaintances with members of the Mexican Mafia and earned a reputation for himself as being a reliable individual which carried throughout his tenure. Upon his release, Woody tried to return his life to some normality as he knew best and upon his release, Woody was given approval to transfer into Victor "Big Midget" Arroyo's crew.

  4. The problem isn't daylight, it's illegal roleplay. Some members of this community see this server as a safe-space and don't like to see others roleplaying what they enjoy. Every single murder is nitpicked and some admin interventions and decisions make zero sense, be it daylight or other circumstances. Because most of the people who rush to take these reports are ignorant and never roleplayed anything illegal in their lives and despise illegal roleplay. They simply don't know how half of this works, yet hurry to make decisions based on their personal opinions or "crime bad", pandering to legal roleplayers 90% of time. Except these certain few admins hardly ever listen and can't be reasoned with. I've been met with incredible toxicity for no reason. People who get killed don't value their lives, again, it's an IC problem, they will get killed. More CKs would solve this and give people a real reason to fear, but that's another subject. What you're admitting here is that you're trying to stop people roleplaying killing other people legitimately, instead of punishing people who don't roleplay fear, for example while interacting with a mob. Murder being common an IC issue, fight crime ICly. Sure, punish people when rules are REALLY broken, but what you guys are doing here is cracking down on every single murder you can find, picking out the stupidest details and punishing people for IC mistakes they've made. Not everyone's a professional Agent 47 kind of character, let the cops do some investigative roleplay too. "Crime that does happen is realistic and well-thought" is an oxymoron, half of the crime that happens realistically isn't well-thought and half of the criminals on the street aren't well-thinking individuals. Hell, they'd be in college if they were, not killing each other. But it just sounds like that's exactly what you want, destroy illegal roleplay in its entirety. So far I've got an impression that you would find the smallest irrelevant detail to contest the most perfect crime ever roleplayed, just to void it and ajail someone. May I ask what constitutes a well-thought crime for you? Last month I murdered someone in front of a garage, in a dark alley, covered with CCTV, in front of two witnesses, without wearing a mask. The kill was well-thought, risks were assessed, although time was ticking. It was realistic and quality of roleplay hasn't been infringed, nobody's immersion has been broken, so on. What happened is that the victim was mad over dying and reported. The first problem was reasoning, as the target blatantly lied that it was deathmatch. Fine, it wasn't, move on. Then the admin picked non-fear argument, since I did it despite there being CCTV. I hadn't even seen the CCTV before he pointed it out for me. Then it was that there were two witnesses, who were each minding their own business, hardly even looking. Then it was that I wasn't wearing a mask, even though my character was wearing a baseball cap tilted down and it was dark. Then it was that it was an open business, despite it being in front of one and there being zero customers, and I've seen this happen earlier without an issue too. Then somehow I get told I powergamed too??? All so the salty legal RPer who thought they were invincible would get unPKed. If that's not nitpicking, I don't know what is. Admin discretion means inconsistency in standard, subjective judgement and heavy bias, it shouldn't be a thing and rules should instead be elaborated better. Thankfully, it was unvoided by the management, although my ajail remains somehow because "I wasn't wearing a mask" and that's still non-fear somehow, despite hardly anyone ever masking themselves like an IRA terrorist when doing kills in real life. Hell, I'd argue that wearing a mask every single time you commit a crime is play2win and low standard roleplay. What also happened is that the admin deleted my casings and the body, totally ruining the roleplay for the cops and the progress of their investigation. I'm now struggling to help the cops through Discord and even agreeing for them to roleplay ghost casings and the body and what not so the roleplay can go on. The most likely outcome here is that cops won't be able to do work with what they have and my character won't take IC consequences for his IC actions because someone thought about fucking with roleplay OOCly for zero reason. Example of some hits, as realistic as they can get: The "GTAW city is big, there would realistically be more witnesses" doesn't stand, NPCs can't be RPed for other situations, you can't pull them out in your favor to argue this either. tl;dr don't intervene at any cost if rules haven't broken, don't make up shit to ruin someone else's completely legitimate experience just because you hate criminals or Serbs IRL, let IC stay IC

  6. "I'd rather die after injecting frying oil into my veins than work at a fast food place ever again. " 💅 Chapter I Born in the nineties, growing up in the zeroes. Mia’s the third of four daughters, but has always considered herself a little different. Being a mediocre student in high school, she realised academics wasn’t for her. She dreamt of a life that was more than serving at Shake Shack forever. Having boyfriend after boyfriend and party after party she knew she wasn’t going to make her father proud anyway. Life changed right after her uncle was arrested, a day after her eighteenth birthday. After hearing he murdered a prostitute by beheading her by a samurai sword, uncle Robbie really quickly fell down the ranking of favorite uncles. After the media disaster that was her uncle’s court trial, she had to change her last name into her mother's. It took a few years for the newspapers to leave them alone, but Mia never minded the attention. [There are pictures of eighteen year old Mia waving at the camera while her family joins the trial as members of the public.] - Uncle Robbie, serving life in Southport Correctional Facility after being charged with murder, manslaughter, extortion and racketeering. Chapter II After a few years of making money as a personal assistant to prosperous people, she started dating one of them. In the two years of dating, she got accustomised to the lavish life of those not paying their taxes correctly. Flying business class from New York to Los Santos almost every other month, eating out at fancy places, going to the most expensive festivals and parties: Mia felt like she made it. Until she discovered her boyfriend had a wife at a party they were both invited to. Kicked down a flight of stairs by the angered spouse, she ended up in the hospital for a month. Obviously, she was single thereafter. As she was treated for a broken leg and some wounds, she also thought weaning off the cocaine would be a great idea. So her new lifestyle kicked off: gone were days of surviving on energy drinks and drug binges. Chapter III Nowadays, Mia comes by doing various jobs for various people. Her attention to detail make her a valuable asset to most companies. Mia has an eye for fashion and a nose for finding the best parties and connections. Will she survive in Los Santos or will old habits and connections catch up with her?

  10. @Mike @Everett I hate being annoying or to give off an impression like that, but it has been quite some time now. Has this idea been forwarded? Is there anything that is being discussed or done? Currently, we have resulted to the option that I own all the buildings scriptwise, which only allows for me to hand out the keys to individuals. The problem is though, we at the resort have over 30 active memberships, and at least 40+ people who get access to it, alongside 10-20 staff which go through the business page. We have a clear seperation from /tenants to /bmanager to have a better overview who has scriptwise access to the complex. Due to a lease update, the ownership went back to another person and I got about ten people waiting for keys, as there is obviously the timezone struggle and lack of availability on all sides. Having this suggestion up would not only ease my life and give me more time to roleplay, but also for a lot of other people facing similar problems. A response would be highly appreciated.

  11. I agree. People will shoot anyone anywhere. Someone PK'd someone at my character's business in Rockford Hills just over a week ago or less, maybe. It's entirely unrealistic to have crime occur in high waves on World. People are seen to be treating non-violent areas of San Andreas like South Central and it is starting to look like The Purge. But, regarding the element of the thread and purpose of it; I agree with OP. Crime don't care what time of day it is. EDIT: Not everyone is online when the server hits night time, some people are only free to play on the daytime hours. My friend from New Zealand is an example of this. It would be unwise to limit someone's RP to the server's time-zone, just because of their chosen sector of roleplay.

  13. Avenues (Avenues 13/Aves/Avenidas) is the largest gang in northern Los Santos, as well as one of the oldest. The Avenues trace their roots back to the 1940s, beginning as a number of separate, very small youth gangs located around Tierra Alta Park. These gangs mostly took their names from the many avenues winding around the park and its surrounding areas (43rd Avenue, Avenue 57, Avenue 60s et cetera). When these varrios formed into a single larger gang, its cliques retained their names. The Northside Avenues, as they are sometimes now referred to in contrast to the Southside Avenues, are one of the most criminally active gangs in Los Santos County. The Avenues have strong ties to the Mexican Mafia, with at least a half dozen of their own members having risen to the ranks of the Eme. During the 2000s, this was the most ‘carnales’ hailing from a single gang within the organization. The area around Tierra Alta Park is considered a Mexican Mafia stronghold. Avenues members are indoctrinated in Mexican Mafia rhetoric and many are directly associated to Mexican Mafia crews. This influence is so strong that even prostitutes and food cart vendors working along the avenues are subject to Mexican Mafia tax, collected and enforced by the Avenues. Being situated in a scenic suburban highland, the territory of the Avenues began to see the first signs of gentrification in the mid 1980s. As the cost of living increased and the availability of low-cost housing began to shrink, families from areas under the Avenidas sphere of influence began moving into the southside of the city. Not only did these emigrating families increase the Hispanic and Latino demographic in South Los Santos, but they also contributed to the rise of Hispanic gangs in the area, including the Southside Avenues. Two 43rd Avenue members, Matthew “Bug Eyes” Estrada and Jorge “Elmo” Flores became the two most notable among original Southside Avenues members as they organized not only former Northside Avenues members into a whole new gang but also recruited the Hispanic youth in the area to form the first cliques claiming ‘Southside Avenues’. The early years of Southside Avenues resembled those of other “splinter gangs” and “new generation varrios” which sprung up around Los Santos in the 1980s. These new gangs were born into an era in which gangs were already violent and highly organized. They did not share the more humble beginnings of older gangs, which originated more as youth groups than as “gangs” the way they are known today. Southside Avenues was surrounded by older, more established gangs and underwent what is sometimes referred to by veterans as their “baptism by fire” - a period of intense violence as the gang fought to carve out its territory. Unlike some other “new generation” gangs born around the same time, the Southside Avenues had the benefit of tutelage under already-seasoned veterans from the Northside varrio. Young members were taught how to fight, how to shoot, how to care for weapons and how to profiteer from crime by their “big homies”. Southside Avenues could also call upon the Northside Avenues for some support in their conflicts, which usually manifested in weapons and bullets - which the older and much larger gang had in abundance and could spare for their younger cousins. This early assistance went a great distance in solidifying a permanent alliance between the Northside and Southside Avenues which still exists. By the mid 90s, demographics in ‘Metro LS’ had begun to swing. Strawberry became a crossroads for Latino and Hispanic factory workers due to the opening of new industrial sites and the abundance of cheap housing. Due to this shift in demographics, Southside Avenues went through a period dubbed by a few older members as “El Abrazo” or “The Embrace” where scores of local youth were being jumped into the gang to bolster the ranks and secure control of the area. Following in the footsteps of their northern counterparts, the gang was involved in anything from the extortion of street vendors to the distribution of firearms and narcotics. The violent retaliation against rivals and competitors became a double edged sword for the gang, on one hand it served as an intimidation tool against would be competitors but on the other it put them on the map with law enforcement. By the mid 2000s, the Southside Avenues gang became the target of Operation Super Tuesday where a series of raids throughout the Strawberry area led to the arrest of 67 members of the Southside Avenues gang. While street operations were greatly damaged and some cliques left defunct due to Operation Super Tuesday, the gang’s influence within the correctional system grew as Southern Avenues members took every chance they could to prove themselves and advance their rank within the sureño underworld. It is thought that many of the gang’s veterans took this opportunity to attempt to catch up with their Northside cousins in racking up bodies in prison yards across the state. There was a period in the late 2000s during which Southside Avenues members had a reputation for raising their hand for violent missions (‘jales’ or ‘pegadas’), which would see at least a dozen transferred to the Secure Housing Unit in Paleto Bay State Prison, validated as Mexican Mafia associates. This reputation faded during the 2010s as members were paroled, released, killed or segregated and Southside Avenues members were perpetrating about as much violence as any other gang behind prison walls. Between the collective actions and reputations of both Avenues gangs, however, the name ‘Avenidas’ is still synonymous in Los Santos County jail facilities with “taking care of business” and “putting in work”. In the present day, the Southside Avenues gang finds itself with a new generation of street leaders as its more senior members send their orders out from various correctional facilities around the state. Younger members trying to prove themselves continue to emulate the brutality of the “varrio legends” that came before them. The Southside Avenues have begun to recover from a lethal combination of gang injunctions originating in the ‘race war’ era of the early 21st century, followed by a series of federal indictments which targeted both of Los Santos’ Avenues gangs and their connections to the Mexican Mafia. The generation following those who endured these low periods are evidently conscious of the weak state the gang is considered to be in by both law enforcement and rivals, and are actively striving to repair the varrio’s reputation through both the traditional ways (gang warfare and visible ‘representing’) and more innovative methods. Operation Safe Streets investigators of the LSSD have noted a trend among current-generation Southside Avenues of a focus toward criminal profiteering, which may be influenced from ‘on high’ by gang veterans and leaders who are attempting to keep their ‘young homies’ from repeating what they see as their own mistakes. Out of character This faction intends to portray realistic Sureno roleplay and to emulate a realistic and plausible culture. This faction wishes to cooperate with and work to enhance the experience of existing groups. Individuals taking part in direct roleplay with this faction expected to accept the consequences of their actions, especially those that result in a legitimate CK. Portrayal remains our utmost priority and individuals will be expected to maintain a high standard of roleplay whether they're a permanent member of this faction or just passing by. Play your character intelligently and most of all realistically and you won't have any complaints.

  14. Short description: Create a carrier role for the purpose of exporting drugs from San Andreas to the rest of the USA. Detailed description: What if rather we had factions with a carrier role? This carrier role's sole purpose is to export drugs from San Andreas and transport it to other states in the USA or even Canada? The idea is that since San Andreas has a large and important commercial port, it is used by criminal organizations to bring in drugs and distribute across the country. In return for exporting drugs from San Andreas, these 'carrier' factions get a certain amount of dollars for every type of drug they export. As for how often they can do this a month and the actual prices they get? Well that's up to decide. At the end of the day we still have a weak drug market on the server and sitting on the wishful thinking that people will stop cosplaying as Pablo Escobar and instead be Ketamine Kyle is clearly not going to solve anything. Bare in mind it has been four months since I first suggested: Since then, drugs like meth and heroin are now worth dookie balls. It's literally just weed, coke, and x that has any sort of demand. We need to create demand from other avenues somehow. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? * Stimulates the drug market so it's not just one party reselling to another party. * Creates a demand for drugs like heroin and meth which are outright neglected and unwanted Additional information: Based on the continuity changes to the server it makes sense to have a role like this.
