  1. Avenues (Avenues 13/Aves/Avenidas) is the largest gang in northern Los Santos, as well as one of the oldest. The Avenues trace their roots back to the 1940s, beginning as a number of separate, very small youth gangs located around Tierra Alta Park. These gangs mostly took their names from the many avenues winding around the park and its surrounding areas (43rd Avenue, Avenue 57, Avenue 60s et cetera). When these varrios formed into a single larger gang, its cliques retained their names. The Northside Avenues, as they are sometimes now referred to in contrast to the Southside Avenues, are one of the most criminally active gangs in Los Santos County. The Avenues have strong ties to the Mexican Mafia, with at least a half dozen of their own members having risen to the ranks of the Eme. During the 2000s, this was the most ‘carnales’ hailing from a single gang within the organization. The area around Tierra Alta Park is considered a Mexican Mafia stronghold. Avenues members are indoctrinated in Mexican Mafia rhetoric and many are directly associated to Mexican Mafia crews. This influence is so strong that even prostitutes and food cart vendors working along the avenues are subject to Mexican Mafia tax, collected and enforced by the Avenues. Being situated in a scenic suburban highland, the territory of the Avenues began to see the first signs of gentrification in the mid 1980s. As the cost of living increased and the availability of low-cost housing began to shrink, families from areas under the Avenidas sphere of influence began moving into the southside of the city. Not only did these emigrating families increase the Hispanic and Latino demographic in South Los Santos, but they also contributed to the rise of Hispanic gangs in the area, including the Southside Avenues. Two 43rd Avenue members, Matthew “Bug Eyes” Estrada and Jorge “Elmo” Flores became the two most notable among original Southside Avenues members as they organized not only former Northside Avenues members into a whole new gang but also recruited the Hispanic youth in the area to form the first cliques claiming ‘Southside Avenues’. The early years of Southside Avenues resembled those of other “splinter gangs” and “new generation varrios” which sprung up around Los Santos in the 1980s. These new gangs were born into an era in which gangs were already violent and highly organized. They did not share the more humble beginnings of older gangs, which originated more as youth groups than as “gangs” the way they are known today. Southside Avenues was surrounded by older, more established gangs and underwent what is sometimes referred to by veterans as their “baptism by fire” - a period of intense violence as the gang fought to carve out its territory. Unlike some other “new generation” gangs born around the same time, the Southside Avenues had the benefit of tutelage under already-seasoned veterans from the Northside varrio. Young members were taught how to fight, how to shoot, how to care for weapons and how to profiteer from crime by their “big homies”. Southside Avenues could also call upon the Northside Avenues for some support in their conflicts, which usually manifested in weapons and bullets - which the older and much larger gang had in abundance and could spare for their younger cousins. This early assistance went a great distance in solidifying a permanent alliance between the Northside and Southside Avenues which still exists. By the mid 90s, demographics in ‘Metro LS’ had begun to swing. Strawberry became a crossroads for Latino and Hispanic factory workers due to the opening of new industrial sites and the abundance of cheap housing. Due to this shift in demographics, Southside Avenues went through a period dubbed by a few older members as “El Abrazo” or “The Embrace” where scores of local youth were being jumped into the gang to bolster the ranks and secure control of the area. Following in the footsteps of their northern counterparts, the gang was involved in anything from the extortion of street vendors to the distribution of firearms and narcotics. The violent retaliation against rivals and competitors became a double edged sword for the gang, on one hand it served as an intimidation tool against would be competitors but on the other it put them on the map with law enforcement. By the mid 2000s, the Southside Avenues gang became the target of Operation Super Tuesday where a series of raids throughout the Strawberry area led to the arrest of 67 members of the Southside Avenues gang. While street operations were greatly damaged and some cliques left defunct due to Operation Super Tuesday, the gang’s influence within the correctional system grew as Southern Avenues members took every chance they could to prove themselves and advance their rank within the sureño underworld. It is thought that many of the gang’s veterans took this opportunity to attempt to catch up with their Northside cousins in racking up bodies in prison yards across the state. There was a period in the late 2000s during which Southside Avenues members had a reputation for raising their hand for violent missions (‘jales’ or ‘pegadas’), which would see at least a dozen transferred to the Secure Housing Unit in Paleto Bay State Prison, validated as Mexican Mafia associates. This reputation faded during the 2010s as members were paroled, released, killed or segregated and Southside Avenues members were perpetrating about as much violence as any other gang behind prison walls. Between the collective actions and reputations of both Avenues gangs, however, the name ‘Avenidas’ is still synonymous in Los Santos County jail facilities with “taking care of business” and “putting in work”. In the present day, the Southside Avenues gang finds itself with a new generation of street leaders as its more senior members send their orders out from various correctional facilities around the state. Younger members trying to prove themselves continue to emulate the brutality of the “varrio legends” that came before them. The Southside Avenues have begun to recover from a lethal combination of gang injunctions originating in the ‘race war’ era of the early 21st century, followed by a series of federal indictments which targeted both of Los Santos’ Avenues gangs and their connections to the Mexican Mafia. The generation following those who endured these low periods are evidently conscious of the weak state the gang is considered to be in by both law enforcement and rivals, and are actively striving to repair the varrio’s reputation through both the traditional ways (gang warfare and visible ‘representing’) and more innovative methods. Operation Safe Streets investigators of the LSSD have noted a trend among current-generation Southside Avenues of a focus toward criminal profiteering, which may be influenced from ‘on high’ by gang veterans and leaders who are attempting to keep their ‘young homies’ from repeating what they see as their own mistakes. Out of character This faction intends to portray realistic Sureno roleplay and to emulate a realistic and plausible culture. This faction wishes to cooperate with and work to enhance the experience of existing groups. Individuals taking part in direct roleplay with this faction expected to accept the consequences of their actions, especially those that result in a legitimate CK. Portrayal remains our utmost priority and individuals will be expected to maintain a high standard of roleplay whether they're a permanent member of this faction or just passing by. Play your character intelligently and most of all realistically and you won't have any complaints.

  2. FACTION VIDEO A GLIMPSE — FBI REPORT ON AVONDRE ROBERSON, NOVEMBER 29th, 2039, ONE OF MANY. MODUS OPERANDI — ORGANIZED CRIMINALS The group participates mainly in forgery, fraud, money laundering, tax evasion and grand theft auto. It is unclear how they are structured, however, it seems that a high degree of flexibility and independence is allowed within the group, as affiliates can go months without even communicating. Furthermore, the group seems to immediately drop connections with convicted felons, as seen with ██████████████████ (b)(6). Multiple potential money mules are currently under financial surveillance. While affiliates of the group such as Tanner Davis have been seen in the past involved in drug sales, it seems that for the most part the group does not actively engage in illegal drugs and as such unlike previous suggestions — as seen in reports ████████████ and ████████████ (b)(7)(A) — is not subject to being a Continuing Criminal Enterprise under section 848 of Chapter 13, Subchapter I, Part D. AFFILIATES AND HISTORY Avondre Roberson — ULSA alumnus. Suspicion of tax evasion and complex shelling schemes. Name was among the many listed in the second Panama Papers released in 2027. Numerous transactions occurred between shell companies stationed in Panama. Often accompanied by his cousin Carter Williams and Payton Coleman. Tanner Davis — Suspicion of vehicle theft and robbery. Phone location history surveillance show multiple overlaps between possible location and stolen vehicles' last GPS locations. CCTV along with physical monitoring show him in constant presence of Khalid Turner, Quantavius Chambers and Jay-Jay Firebird. CASE IN PROGRESS The majority of the individuals listed attended Davis High as the initial P.O.C. It is suspected that as early as 2022 the group had initiated in fraud (refer to case #██████ — acquired from the Los Santos Sheriff's Department).

  8. Is the goal to create the ideal fantasy world IG where no one is offended? Or is the goal to mirror the real world as closely as possible? Being offended is a part of life, both in the reality and in a game that's meant to simulate real life as much as possible. Experiencing offenses such as this should contribute to a char's development, rather than be something we aim to reduce because it makes a few people OOCly uncomfortable. And I've said this before in previous threads like this but where do we stop with the censoring? If all of suggestions for censorship were implemented, we wouldn't have anything close to resembling a realistic RP server. Don't deny character growth by pushing for a server where our character's are never offended by anything - simply because you're offended by it in RL. How do you navigate through RL? Don't you just push past the offensive things you see in RL? Or otherwise work to address it? Then you should do the same both OOCly and ICly when it comes to GTAW.

  10. Short description: Stream imgur links to static furniture objects in order to create unique artwork, signs, posters, etc. Detailed description: This idea arises from a discussion somewhere in the depths of staff discord channels. It started talking about art work and paintings, but the application can be wider, far wider. @Oggy came up with this suggestion originally in Discord. Essentially, in the same was as imgur links are adapted to notes, have imgur links/images applied to furniture. The concept would likely work something along these lines. A series of picture frames, sign frames and other flat (framed?) surface furniture objects are added, to which imgur links can be applied. These, when loaded as furniture in a property (or outside for admin placed objects/exterior furniture), would then simply show as graffiti/pictures/paintings/signs when viewed by a player. Commands to add: This highly depends on how it would be implemented. Commands could be part of the furniture menu, but at its core they would have to include some form of Items to add: Empty picture and sign frames, and an invisible frame in order to apply transparent pictures to existing textures/objects. How would your suggestion improve the server? This has the potential to open up a whole range of solutions for existing problems. Custom graffiti to be placed and visible by everyone. Just imagine being able to supply a custom/selfmade transparent .png and have it applied to a wall of your choice. Custom paintings and artwork Business signs If you go further, you could even look at streaming imgur textures to walls and floors, but that's a little beyond the scope of this suggestion. Additional information: This comes with a bunch of caveats; Technical feasibility, this is an obvious hurdle and one that I hope a developer can address. Avoiding abuse. It can be left up to the players where abuse is punished, in the same way as it works with notes. Alternatively, it could go through a confirmation queue, or simply a quick confirmation through /report and have it be an admin-restricted command. Performance. It might be an issue. If they are admin restricted commands, a check should be done to limit file size and file resolution to avoid performance issues.

  11. Preamble: There will be no TL:DR version of this. If you're interested in this topic, please read it in its entirety. As someone who actively roleplays in the medical field, there's been something that has been bugging me for quite a while now and I feel like it's about time to address it. Plenty of people insistently roleplay death in situations where medical personnel are on scene attempting their best efforts to keep them alive, and in a lot of cases they would realistically be able to save them, whereas they fail to in the vast majority of them because the decision of killing the character ultimately lies on the patient himself, which is acceptable. But at the same time, this poses a lot of issues for medical roleplay, often resulting in unrealistic scenarios where a character ends up dying not because their death is inevitable, but because the player is adamant on killing them. Now, let me quickly go through the criteria that all patients must legally meet before being officially declared dead: Irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions (no pulse and no breathing) Irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem (also known as brain death) What does this mean? It means that having no pulse or no breathing alone isn't enough for someone to be dead, which is a common misconception that most players have and something we come across more often than not. Someone's heart may not be beating, and their chest may not be rising and falling with every breath, but that doesn't mean they are dead, not from a clinical/medical standpoint. Technology has drastically advanced and we are lucky to be alive in an era where medical professionals are able to keep a patient's heart and lungs going by attempting resuscitation efforts, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, epinephrine injections, and many other treatments. Now, I know not everyone has the medical knowledge to understand this, and I don't expect them to. My opinion is that players who roleplay as medical professionals should have the responsibility to educate patients on an out-of-character level to ensure that medical roleplay proceeds accordingly, but this requires the patient to be interested in the roleplay itself in the first place. If you do not know what a paramedic, a nurse or a doctor is doing to you, please ask them out-of-character, don't just lay there motionless and make the roleplay one-sided. This is super frustrating for us, because the best part about medical roleplay isn't the treatment, but the interaction with the patient. With that being said, please stop forcing death on your character without giving medical professionals a fair chance to attempt resuscitation efforts. This feels powergame-ish. Yes, your character can't always be saved, and they won't. But before pushing death on your character, don't be afraid to confirm with whoever is trying to save you to see if it would realistically make the most sense in that scenario. Doing that is infinitely better than leaving them in the dark the whole time. This doesn't make you a bad roleplayer. Quite the contrary, it makes you a much better one. We wouldn't dictate what would happen to your character, but merely guide so you could make a more responsible and informed decision about your character. Additionally, do not do "/me is long dead" throughout the entire treatment course, unless it is a pretty obvious one (i.e. your character was burned to a level beyond recognition). This is inciting metagaming. Medical professionals are legally required to attempt resuscitation efforts if they see there's the smallest of chances that the patient may be saved. By openly announcing that you're dead while your character doesn't have injuries to warrant obvious and irreversible death, you may be inciting metagaming without even being aware of it. This makes it incredibly frustrating for medical professionals because they already know that their resuscitation efforts won't go anywhere, which as a result might make them unwilling to go through those efforts when they would under normal circumstances, and honestly they can't be blamed for it. At least accept death and CK first, don't let everyone around you try to roleplay and then ruin it for them. There's not much to discuss here, as this was mostly me appealing to common courtesy from players when roleplaying with the Los Santos Fire Department or Pillbox Hill Medical Center, but obviously if you have an opinion about this, go ahead and post it, and if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask away as well. Thank you for reading.

  12. Cameron "C" Moore Twenty Years old From Brooklyn, New York. Cameron Moore is a twenty-year-old once drop-out that is currently residing in the East-Side Rancho ( Billingsgate Motel ) after failing to comply and agree by the rules of Los Santos' very own University "ULSA", losing most of his education, money, respect for the system as a whole due being let down by modern-days society and ethics. His ambitions? becoming a well known peddler of narcotics and false hopes, clout-climbing, and hopefully becoming one of the scummiest influences in Los Santos with a little help of his cracked-to-shit phone, parties, sex and furthermore, drugs. 13. Short description: Adding a simple command such as "/hoist PLAYERID SEATID" to TP someone into a helicopter using a hoist rescue system. Detailed description: In the Fire Department especially, and I believe Sheriff's ESD, we often do hoist rescues using our helicopter (Police Maverick currently, later on the Valkyrie) but we lack any kind of script support. While we have our ways to get down from the helicopter, there's no way to get back up without the helicopter landing nearby on a area where it wouldn't crash. During any kind of mountain/cliff/swift water rescue it's pretty hard, sometimes impossible, to get back into the helicopter without risking the helicopter exploding / crashing due to it hitting nearby objects. I'd like to see a simple command being introduced for PD/SD/FD to use where they can TP someone into their helicopters after the proper roleplay has been done, with the assigned seat being used for it. We need at least a good distance away from the ID to make this useful. Best ways should be tested, but a hoist rescue rope can get quite far. Needs to be tested in game to get the right measurements considering how strange it sometimes is in-game. I'd start at 15-20 meters at least to see how that'd work. (Edit: it needs to be adjusted to be able to hoist down from a reasonable height above the large trees in game and without having to get too close to the cliffs etc. I'll be getting information of how far USCG's winches can go down to provide a justification in case it needs to be way more.) "/hoistto PLAYERID" to TP from a helicopter to a person, this to prevent dying during the fall. Commands to add: "/hoist PLAYERID SEATID" "/hoistto PLAYERID" Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? The suggestion would improve the quality of life during rescue operations and also give less work for admins in case we have to TP victims and ourselves away from specific locations to get them into the helicopter. Additional information: I'm suggesting this in a alternative to a fully working hoist rescue system where ropes, rescue litters etc. are visible as currently I don't believe there's a chance to even get this with the current issues of RageMP. I'm also suggesting this to be PD/SD/FD only, considering how rare it is to have a proper hoist rescue system on civilian helicopters and to minimize the chance of abuse. Proper roleplay should always be used during these commands and should not be an alternative to get out of situations easily. Picture example of what I'm referring to with hoist rescue:

  14. OUT OF CHARACTER This faction aims to portray an entirely fictional, highly organized cellularly structured group. This means that different people are partnered up with others that match their skillsets. Many things are taught IC'ly, as the leaders of this faction are academic. The faction aims to be even more organized than governmental organizations (LSPD, LSSD, etc), which is surprisingly easier than it sounds. At the time of posting, the organized nature of the group has yet to form. Development is done entirely IC. WHAT TO EXPECT If you're looking for the following, this isn't the faction for you: Shootouts of any nature. High risk high reward situations (robbery, breakins, etc) — There are very few minor exceptions and only a highly select amount of people will even be allowed to perform these actions. High adrenaline situations. Joining a criminal organization immediately. Committing crimes anywhere within a week of interacting with us. — There can be some exceptions depending on the situation and need. The entire concept of this faction is based on the idea that education along with preparation pay off. We like to take our time. You're literally going to end up being taught things IC before you're even allowed to commit any sort of crime. If you're calculated, tactical, patient and willing to learn, you're a perfect addition already. As such, it may take a considerable amount of time before you even commit a crime (given the need for planning and preparation on the architect's part, and the need to establish that you're reliable both IC and OOC). Being a felon is might as well be as good as a game over for your character, none of us have any reason to even continue actively being in the presence of a felon who has a caution code (unless if it makes sense IC to still have you around), so keep that in mind. APTITUDE TEST The faction is structured in a way so that OOC leadership matters very little. You have one or more partners (up to 3) and we encourage you to consistently roleplay with your partner(s). You're your own people, responsible for yourselves. The "IC faction leadership" is merely a group of individuals that creatively plan ways of making money, then they teach you any required skillsets to get it done, or get you in touch with people that can teach you, let you know what the plan is, and the rest is all you. That being said, it is clear then that everyone represents the faction. Thus, we've developed an extremely simple aptitude test that checks for these skills: Reaction time (reading and typing). Comprehensive capacity. Grammatical proficiency. Efficiency (capacity to perform intended tasks). The aptitude test is entirely in game, and symbolized through in character emotes. More information regarding how we test people that are interested in joining is in the faction discord (click me). WE DO NOT HAVE ANY FORMS OF OOC RECRUITMENT WHATSOEVER.

  16. 21ST CENTURY. After the end of the last centuries, different political parties became popular. They were gathering people, coming out in the streets. In 2003, after the Rose Revolution took place in Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, the leader of United National Movement became president and reformed the country. They found a new police, called "Patrol Police" which consisted of new, least corrupt personnel. Soon, after police regained the full control of country, many Thieves by Law were deported. Feared by many, Mikheil Saakashvili drove out Thieves by Law and their groups out from Tbilisi and remaining regions of Georgia. Many started seeing him as a legal criminal in the head of a country. The Georgian underworld was deported mainly to Europe and Russia, however some of them saw a way out to America. The Shulaya Enterprise operated through groups of individuals, often with overlapping members and/or associates, dedicated to particular criminal tasks. While many of these crews were based in New York City, the Shulaya Enterprise had operations in various locations throughout the United States (including in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Nevada) and abroad. Most members and associates of the Shulaya Enterprise were born in the former Soviet Union and many maintained substantial ties to Georgia, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation, including regular travel to those countries, communication with associates in those countries, and the transfer of criminal proceeds to individuals in those countries.
