  1. settle down ok? Sarcasm isn't needed in a suggestion. The current system which has been in the server for quite sometime now is /ph, /call and /sms. This is fairly reliable. There are some restraints to what developers can code in, AND make stable for a 500+ server. Imagine if every 10 or so players made a group chat at 500 players peak. That's fifty group chats. Just because one feature isn't available now or ever, doesn't mean you stoop down to /r, which makes little to no sense. Please for the love of God, add this. I've thought about this since Day One. Here's the pill, as some would say: If you use a radio more than you use a phone, you're not doing it right. If you use a radio like you're a LEO/Security guard. You're still not doing it right and frankly, trying to justify /r through a mobile phone app is just dumb. In my whole life, and many other people's lives, I've never once seen someone use a radio app on their phone. +1.

  2. Short description: It would be more realistic and help with unrealistic response times by adding a one minute or so delay for 911 calls to appear for law enforcement. Detailed description: Currently, police officers can instantly see incoming 911 calls at an instantaneous speed. Now, you might be thinking, what's the issue with this? Well, it's quite simple. In real life, police dispatchers (the people who answer 911 calls and relay the information to units) are not robots. They cannot simply relay information instantaneously to units after taking the call. Dispatchers in real life are humans too, and it takes 30 seconds to a minute for them to fully relay information on average. This wouldn't be an issue if there was an actual dispatch faction ingame with people roleplaying relaying information but it is unfortunately all NPCed through a subpar script. Commands to add: N/A, devs should just implement a delay after calling 911 for the call to appear for units. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It would resolve one of the most debated issues which is none other than police responses for one. It would add a layer of realism and is both a middle ground for both LEO RPers and illegal RPers. It makes it realistic while not making it overpowered at the same time. Additional information:

  3. Short description: New business type: Jewelry stores & Accessory items revamp Detailed description: So what's the issue? We have a ton of players who are running around and looking like Christmas trees while wearing a lot of chains, watches, bracelets and etcetera. Sometimes we are able to see random employees who are wearing a ton of jewelry while doing simple jobs. So what??? Right now every player is able to buy fancy looking chains and necklaces from any clothing shop. Anyways, somehow we are not allowing for players to buy watches from simple clothing stores. As far as I know, we have separate stores for watches and bracelets (I don't know or there is a certain business type for that). Anyways, this thing that anybody can buy and wear fancy looking items should be limited if possible. And? It kills immersion when everybody is wearing fancy items on them. So what's the solution????? At the moment, when we have a proper item "value" system, that allows us to create custom watches and bracelets we can move forward and offer a new business type to the server - jewelry stores with actual items! šŸ’ Those lucky owners of jewelry stores would be able to sell actual items that would be VISIBLE for the people while carrying them in the inventory. They would be able to take a certain accessory, as an example - some kind of necklace, and give him a custom name and an actual value. What's the point of this offer??????? Golden chains, fancy watches and expensive looking necklaces would be something more unique/special. In the meantime people would be able to understand that this kind of "chain" or "bracelet" has a value. Commands to add: None. Items to add: None. How would your suggestion improve the server? Golden chains, fancy watches and expensive looking necklaces would be something more unique/special. In the meantime people would be able to understand that this kind of "chain" or "bracelet" has a value. Additional information: Explanation 1: 1. You are going to the X jewelry store and buying an item that appears in your inventory like: "Very fancy watch [$25000]" 2. You are getting a watch on your character skin. Explanation 2: 1. You have bought an item from the jewelry store: "Very fancy chain [$10000]" 2. You have that item on your character skin. 3. You are going to a club. 4. Partying. 5. Leaving a club. 6. Getting robbed. The robber takes your chain from you. 7. You are giving your "Very fancy chain [$10000]" to the robber. 8. You are loosing your "chain" from your outfit. Explanation 3: 1. You are going to a pawn shop and buying a "Very fancy bracelet [$5000]" 2. After you are getting the item, the item appears on your "characters" wrist. Explanation 4: 1. You have a "Very fancy necklace [$8000]" 2. You are putting that item into your property inventory while using /pinv. 3. The item disappears from your character. 4. After you taking it from the property - it appears back on your character.

  4. Hi there. I am a working dog handler IRL and work with both patrol, and various search capable dogs. I have worked work explosive search (Who also search for weapons) as well as drug detection dogs. The first point to look at here is the idea that these dogs are only capable of remembering four or five target scents. I am not sure where you got your information from, but this is simply not true. My own working dog, who is trained in weapons and explosives, is able to detect a wide variety of target scents from military grade explosives, to commercial grade explosives like the ones used in mining, and homemade explosives. He is also able to detect weapons based off of a number of various scents that are somewhat unique to a weapon, such as GSR, or gun oil (Gun oil is one of the ways they get you when you haven't even fired the weapon) There are various different explosive products and target scents that fall into each of theses categories, but I can assure you, it is not just four or five that they detect, more like twenty to thirty, and we are regularly training the dogs to find new target scents. On the note of LSD, this is something drug detection dogs are trained on, extensively. While LSD may be considered odourless, humans have just five million scent receptors on average, whereas a dog has an average of around three hundred million. This combined with how a dogs olfactory system is constructed, allows a dog to detect scents at concentrations up to one hundred million times less than a human would be able to detect. As for locating the scent and where it comes from, this is down to how the dogs take in air and scent through their nose. Unlike humans, who simply breath in and out of their nose using the same passage, dogs take in air and scent through the nostrils, but expel air through the slits in the side of their nose/nostrils. This creates swirls of air that only help to pull in more odour molecules to give a better sent picture. They are also able to use each nostril independently, much like how chameleons can use both eyes independently. This allows them to track where exactly the scent is coming from and follow the scent to it's source. You made one last point at the end of your suggestion about the quantities of drugs present before they can be detected by the dogs. Drug Detection dogs are also trained with something we call Soaks, these are simply items that have been in contact with the target scent (one way of creating a soak is simply keeping the soak in a box, alongside the target scent. The target scent would not be just loose powder, but in a sealed bag.) One of the soaks we use is actually a small page of stickers, each only about half the size of a fingernail, if not smaller, and the dog will still locate this with some guidance from the handler. Now, onto the point you may like a little better. Dogs are not robots, they are not perfect and like humans, they will make mistakes. They may pick up on scent, but not indicate it to their handler. They may even miss the scent altogether due to being distracted. Dogs can have off days too. So, my suggestion to you would be not to suggest limiting the scents that the PD and SD dogs can detect, but instead suggest that a 5% or 10% failure chance be added to the script, so that even if a dog sniffs you, there is a chance they will not indicate on the scent. I personally would argue that this is an unrealistically high failure rate, but I am thinking of the enjoyment of the game for everyone here. I hope this information is helpful to this suggestion, if anyone has questions on the subject, feel free to ask away.

  5. Short description: Add a range for radio usage. Detailed description: People sometimes forget what a radio is in this server, it's a hardcore RP server after all. I see people use them on a daily basis from ranges that not logical at all, sometimes even from Vespucci to Sandy Shores just walking around. If you are in a trucking vehicle or something like that with a big antenna then sure but if you are just simply walking around with a walkie talkie the range isn't that good. If you are in a crowded city (Los Santos compared to RL should be pretty crowded) you would get a maximum range of 500meters with a walkie-talkie. Maybe up to 2-3 miles if you are in the middle of nowhere like in Sandy Shores or somewhere around the hills. Commands to add: None. Items to add: Just a range on current radios or revamp the whole radio system with new types of radios for longer distances. How would your suggestion improve the server? Stop the unrealistic roleplay scenarios where people just pass information around from miles away with a simple /r command without any RP following it. Additional information: Add an item that you can buy from a store or no matter where like there is with /cameras, it would take inventory space and cut people off from using them without any RP or IC money spent on it.

  6. Background: I regularly work with drug dog handlers. Friends with a few of them. Ran this by a K9 handler I know. Took a second to explain that I'm not trying to help Euros with international drug running lol. Tl;dr - Not unrealistic at all in the States. One dog can be trained on LSD and other substances, and cross-training between a half dozen substances minimum is not uncommon anymore due to departments trying to get the most value out of one dog. Although most focus is on heroin/crack/meth/weed in one dog, LSD detection is not unheard of and has been utilized in a lot of areas. However, and quoting him - "If you want the ultimate drug dog then youā€™ll have to spend at least a year or two training it to make it efficient." Edit: Worth noting that the power of the script is also why there are heavy limits on how many dogs we can have in-game, what they can do, etc. It's already regulated and scrutinized by staff to a large degree.

  9. Short description: Make the drug dog system more realistic by making it more in line with reality, where drug dogs on average are only trained to detect three-four types of drugs and at max five. Detailed description: To quote the report that made me want to even make this suggestion: And even on that note, even if a dog is trained to smell less olfactory potent drugs, LSD comes to a mind, as non-processed/tainted/contaminated LSD is quite literally odorless, it has to be in a high enough concentration for it to even trigger a dog sussing out the smell. Now. What does this specifically mean in implementation however? Drugs such as marijuana, heroin, cocaine/crack, methamphetamines end up being basically unaffected. Drug dogs, even especially more-so in LA are trained to pick up at least two to three of these drugs listed. They're common, they're generally viewed as a societal threat and as such law enforcement generally warrants it a necessity to take extra pre-caution towards ensuring that such drugs remain off the streets. As a result? Extra pre-cautions and measures are taken to ensure that such drugs are found and confiscated. In regards to drugs such as LSD, mushrooms, PCP and ecstasy? Unless a dog is specifically trained to detect such in favor of resources being utilized to train it to pick up other drugs? Then no, your average run of the mill drug dog is not going to be finding these on a usual basis and this should be reflected in game. The only scenario in which I'd imagine a dog such as these are taken out is when they are specifically looking for these drugs, such as during a manufactory bust of such drugs or when police are aware that these goods in specific are being exchanged in bulk. Along with this, even if a dog is trained to find such a drug? Ensuring that there is a large enough amount/concentration of such an illicit substance there that the dog would realistically end up finding it is another necessity. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? Adds further realism to LEO and Illegal RP. Additional information: N/A

  14. First of all, as a HAM radio operator myself, those apps are utter dogshit. All of them. 95% of the time it wont connect you to a server to chat, and if it does, youre in a skype call from 2003 where everyones mic has gone through a washing machine. Twice. Second, those shitty walkie talkies dont even work a quarter mile unless you have clear view of the person. Anywhere urban or residential even? Not a chance. Maybe if you were chilling in a field.

  16. Mm, OK. No, I donā€™t see this being anywhere near practical honestly. Youā€™ll have to take into account the consequences thatā€™ll come by implementing such an idea. A more play-to-win stance (even if unintentional) towards the criminal roleplay scene; the whole world doesnā€™t revolve around criminal roleplay. Iā€™m afraid such suggestion is an example of how most situations will thereafter lean towards constant easy and rapid executions of scenes before flying away. I bet you thereā€™ll be a topic posted within a few days after this gets implemented. Take this as an example: Take into consideration that not each 911 call is sourced from ā€œillegal roleplayā€. Thereā€™s a huge pot of other calls; spontaneous or brush fires, natural injuries - Bob falling down the stairs and breaking his ankle, MVAs, accidents &cetera. A rather slow-paced environment which no one really looks for. Solve an issue, another one will pop up. Youā€™ll have people queuing their 911 calls whenever they see something ā€˜suspiciousā€™. Easier getaways with foreseen precipitating events; a new ā€œI have one minute till the police gets notifiedā€ mentality will shine and oh boy I assure you it will. Most previous replies highlight why this wouldnā€™t be an excellent idea to implement. Thereā€™ll be consequences and they will not be pleasant to most. A script-wise limitation, in my opinion, is just cutting corners and isnā€™t the ā€œmiddle groundsā€ youā€™d be looking for.

  17. Is this a Los Angeles simulator? No. Let me quote another reply here. The crime rate in Los Santos is on a completely different realm compare to any city in real life. And LEO's are the only thing that's controlling the crimes IC'ly. You want cops to simulate Los Angeles, then criminals should also simulate Los Angeles crime rates. There's no way that we can simulate Los Angeles on this server without some stupid OOC limits that prevents roleplay. Shorter response time is is the thing that makes it a more fair play between legal and illegal roleplayers. If everyone can get away with robberies because cops take 10 minutes to arrive, God knows what this server's gonna become.
