  1. This topic is both complicated and very simple at the same time. Skip to the last few lines for summary. I'll put it like this: You don't roleplay to win, and you don't roleplay to constantly take Ls. Nobody wants a mugging to be a common occurance and those who happen to get robbed often or are exposed to crime simply grow to be insensitive to it. You hear gunshots, you go "Oh... shit. Here we go again.", you wait five minutes, maybe you go check out what happened when you deem the area is safe enough to report it or help the victims or whatever. This isn't shit roleplay. Shit roleplay is the fact that people will hop on a BF400 in a blacked out outfit like it's some fucking favela and go around looking out for marks, instead of let's say camping up an alleyway close to a club where you know people will not appear unless they want to get in and out of their car and where you know they might have money to rob them of. Low risk, mid-high reward. If you're being held at gunpoint in some shady ass alleyway, yes, roleplay fear. Nobody will help you, nobody will give a shit about you, one wrong move and you might as well die. But if someone pulls up to you on a BF400 in the middle of a street, where realistically there would be people around? I would not care, because only truly crazy individuals would have the balls to just pop a few rounds into you in the middle of a crowded street, with potentially armed witnesses or cops passing by. Now which side of the aforementioned scenario is more shit in terms of roleplay? The guy who doesn't fear his life, knowing he is getting robbed in a place full of witnesses and where cops are probably gonna come soon, or the guy who thinks he's in a fucking Brazilian favela on his dirt bike? My point here is that it's fine when robbers demand or expect good roleplay from you. We demand that from each other, the server standards have to be met somehow. But when you pull off scenarios like that, pulling up in the middle of streets, gunning people down there, doing all sorts of other crazy shit - it is fine. Fine, considering the admins do not do anything about it. They let it happen, and therefore your character can learn from it and develop accordingly. Someone who's used to living in such a crime riddled shithole will probably be insensitive to crime unless they're actually being held at gunpoint or with a knife against their throat. Your attitude does not get you killed in a robbery. A robbery is performed to gain quick monetary gain, you might pistol-whip someone for acting tough or disrespecftul, but by killing someone you put a lot of heat on yourself and you probably do not want to loot a corpse. Good roleplayers understand that certain people do not care about getting robbed anymore, because to them it's a sad reality they live in and they just accept it how it is. They will proceed with the robbery like intended, taking ones' belongings and getting out of the area as soon as possible. But a so called "shit roleplayer" will kill you for no reason for the sake of being tough or because their ego was hurt by your lack of the "OH NO PLEASE DO NOT SHOOT." reaction. TL;DR: Los Santos, in it's current state, is just Night City from Cyberpunk 2077 except we're missing drones, cyborgs and complicated tech weapons. The city is stuck in the 1990s because of a lack of something as simple as RICO laws. When you open a business in Los Santos, you do not think about when you're gonna get extorted, but rather how much and by who. It is inevitable. The city is a crime riddled shit hole, so people just roleplay it as one, and they do not care about you pulling up with a pistol to grab their money for the twentieth time in their shitty life. They will let it all go, and go get a new phone and withdraw some more money and move on with their day.

  4. Most gangs are not the problem, gangs hold themselves accountable most of the time, it's mostly solo rpers trying to get a quick pf gun, I think that pk wars on a whole should be revamped, gangs should have long term pk wars with single incidents instead of just shooting up the block every day and the list goes on, the way I see it PK wars aren't even fun, its just full of reports and people complaining ooc so what's the point, there's a lot of potential in gang rp outside of just shootouts.

  5. LOS SANTOS GANG WARS: BACKYARD JOKERS The neighborhood of East Vinewood has been home to violent street gangs since the early 50s. Originally a middle class white neighborhood, with the influx of Hispanics to the area the demographics of the area quickly changed. A good dozen amount of gangs sprung up in the area claiming their territories with graffiti and fighting in parking lots, alleyways, and in the streets of East Vinewood. One such gang that sprung up during the 90s was Baby Ryders or simply the Ryders. It was started by a group of males who simply meant to protect their homes and people that lived in the area. Baby Ryders were predominantly Hispanic although allowed non-Hispanics to join their ranks. This allowed the gang to control its area and able to stand toe to toe with much larger gangs out of the area such as the W/S Rockwood Street Locos, and the W/S Temple Street Gangs, a Hispanic American gang that would eventually become an ally of the Baby Ryders. E/S BABY RYDERS 13 The E/S Baby Ryders 13, also known as Barrio Ryders 13/Backyard Jokers 13 is an Sureno gang located in Vinewood, Los Santos. The Backyard Jokers, is a known, but small, tightknit member base subset of the Baby Ryders 13 gang. Although the Backyard Jokers gang is a small subset, they are still known for participating in major criminal activities, from kidnapping to homicides. The gang adopted the number 13, linking them to the Sureno car. Throughout the Eastside of Vinewood, the Backyard Jokers gang have claimed their territory by kicking it at the main hotspots, which can be pinpointed to the North Vinewood Park Recreation Centre and Mirror Park Boulevard. Since the up rise of the Backyard Jokers gang, LSPD has released a statement of an increase in gang activity and violence emerging in the East-side of Vinewood. Thirty-six-year-old Edgar 'Maldito' Lopez is a known, high ranking member of the E/S Vinewood Baby Ryders 13 gang, and has links to the subset, the E/S Backyard Jokers gang. In 2015 Edgar 'Maldito' Lopez bought himself a life sentence at San Andreas Correctional Facility when he shot down Asante "D-LOCC#3" Jackson at a block party in the East Side, Los Santos. D-LOCC#3, 25, at the time, was a known rival of the E/S Baby Ryders 13 gang and murdered in cold-blood after attending a Birthday Party on Nikola Avenue. Local law enforcement arrested 19-year-old Pedro 'P-Wicked' Luna and two other members from the Backyard Jokers gang on a murder charge, 18-year-old, Tyquan Wilson tragically lost his life back in July 2020. LSPD has confirmed that this was a gang-related attack in control of Narcotics distribution in the East Vinewood vicinity. Pedro 'P-Wicked' Luna, 19, Michael "Travieso" Hernandez, 16, and Samuel 'K-Wyno' Valez, 16 are currently awaiting trial and are being held at Los Santos County TTCF. All known participants are said to be affiliated with the E/S Baby Ryders 13 gang. Due to the increase of gang violence and activity within the East Vinewood community, business owners and residents are fearing for their safety. Local stores are being vandalized with gang-affiliated graffiti and the local Police Department has had numerous calls of young teens stealing/loitering. Due to being surrounded by upper-middle-class citizens, the East Vinewood area has seen an increase in armed burglaries. Local residents from the neighborhood have mentioned they're too scared to leave their homes late at night as it is "getting out of control." Local youths in the area are said to attend East Vinewood High School, which is located West of Mirror Park. Many young teens are using local schools to recruit. East Vinewood High reputation is drastically decreasing and many Parents are seeking to send their children elsewhere. Frontyard Locos vs Backyard Jokers (2010s - present) It all started on the night of June 23th, 1982. Antonio "Lil Shooter" Vino a notorious Backyard Jokers (BR13) leader was leaving the store on East Mirror Drive. He noticed a black BMW following him down the road. The four-door eventually came to a stop around the corner when Sean Lopez a.k.a Speedy leaned out with a Benelli M1. Antonio was held at gunpoint for about five minutes. Both parties kept mouthing each other off until Sean accidentally pulled the trigger and blew Antonio's head off right on the spot, killing him instantly. Word got back to other Backyard Jokers members that the car was packed with two individuals from Frontyard Locos. Brandon "G-Listo" and Giovanny "Wicked" Alzarta, another well-known Backyard Jokers leader and Antonio's brother, organized a hit to avenge Antonio's death. Four Backyard Jokers members packed up in a red four-door and set out to seek revenge. It all went down when they open fired at an ongoing backyard party on York Street, killing around four people and leaving three injured. These consisted of innocent bystanders, women, and children as well. The feud was officially established, as it stemmed further such incidents that'd continue to go on for years. Baby Ryders 13 considered the iternal beef as a threat to their business in East Vinewood shortly after tensions started rising. A confrontation occurred between the two cliques on the evening of July 8th, 2017. Three Backyard Jokers members mugged a few Frontyard Locos members on Bridge Street, leaving them with nothing but empty pockets. As soon as word got back to the leadership of Frontyard Locos, they set out to deal with the matter himself. What started as an argument between him and the Backyard Locos members ended up in him getting shot up not two minutes later. He was shot twice in the stomach and once in the shoulder. Javier the man shot eventually succumbed to his injuries and died on the same spot after emergency services failed to respond on time. From there on out, both groups realized the war was infact destroying the E/S Baby Ryders 13 faction, a ceasefire was forced upon them in 2019 and the two groups have limited interaction between themselves. OOC INFORMATION We aim to portray a realistic environment around the East Vinewood Park in which the local gang E/S Baby Ryders 13 resides. However, we are currently a private faction. The reason behind this is the factor of realism, BR13 is a very, very small gang in real life and we put the realism factor above the amount of members. If you still wish to join, pm me with your character details and screenshots of you roleplaying so we can assure that you fit into our RP-standards. We will then discuss anything further through discord. You can get more information about the faction by adding me on Discord. Cbones#6071

  6. FIB - briefing - Classified - Black Market & Laundering activity When Immigrants arrive in new countries they often gather together in communities, places that familiar and remind them of their home. Such places allow them to speak their own language, eat their own food as well as bring their own culture, work-ethics, and services alongside it. As such, these communities often grow to have their own norms, morals, and ‘rules’. A popular type of market in the middle east and eastern Europe, known as Bazaars or Street markets. These markets often sell anything the heart desires, from fabric, pots, and pans, dogs to car parts. However, these also have an illicit side to them. These sides are known as black markets, often not open to the public eye. Black markets are often not physical in place, they’re mobile, a network of on-demand trades that can be purchased for the right price. Firearms, narcotics, prostitutes, stolen goods, and many other things can be offered through these markets. There is yet to be uncovered a larger black market within the state of San Andreas, however. Reports of increased theft and illicit goods being shipped between Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Port of Los Santos are being sent out through the Interpol network. While on the surface level these groups appear to be nothing more than your average street criminal, FIB intelligence provided by our friends at Interpol leads us to believe that these groups are implementing complex money laundering schemes previously only found in eastern Europe here in the United States. Methods involving the theft of vehicles, insurance fraud, and black-market activities. The cash from these activities is shipped out of the United States through goods that can be sold in Eastern Europe with ease. As of recent local authorities from the LSPD uncovered a large number of containers in the Port of Los Santos with fake shipping manifestos, the containers contained luxury SUV’s from Italian and German carmakers, and it was believed these were being sent to Eastern Europe for repurposing, and sale. OOC: This group aims to portray an organized crime organization with Eastern European & Russian roots that specializes in Black Market operations. This meaning that our purpose is not to take over Los Santos and roleplay a regular criminal grouping with extortion and alike. Our primary goal is to create a ‘trade’ hub, a highway for illegal goods, and a roleplay hub for various types of roleplayers in order to create a deeper black market of Los Santos that doesn’t revolve around the regular concept of an illegal faction, our end-game goal is to achieve a money-laundering ring along with a black market for the new systems being put in place. Our group is open to any ethnicity, any gender, and any age. However, our group is easy to approach if you prove that you can provide quality roleplay, a plus is also that your character speaks or is willing to interact with Eastern Europeans and Russians on a daily basis. If you have any questions regarding our projects, or how to become a part of it? Please don’t hesitate to contact Mahiko the king of gods#2991 or fascia#8556

  7. Man-hunt in progress after three police officers slaughtered, one wounded. DAVIS, Los Santos -- Two deputies, one police-officer involved in a high-risk traffic stop were shot dead by a suspect with a fully automatic assault rifle. One police officer was wounded and is now in critical condition. The County Sheriff's Department tweeted 22-year-old Victor Vasquez is wanted in relation to the attack and should be considered armed and dangerous. Vasquez now faces several felony murder charges, however it is likely it could be upgraded to capital murder, depending on his intent, detectives said. Early Tuesday morning, authorities believed he may have been inside his mother's house in the area of Carson Avenue and Brogue Avenue in Davis. Officials, including members of the SEB team, surrounded the home. After members of the tactical team stormed the house, it was revealed that the suspect was in fact not inside. Authorities said his mother wasn't aware they were searching for him as she had been at work. "This a nightmare scenario for our city.” said a City of Davis official. “Davis is a city where everyone should feel safe, and the Police and Sheriff Department help in that goal. I implore anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the suspect to contact authorities.” Anyone with information about Vasquez’s location, whereabouts or any relevant information is asked to call 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

  11. Sports logos specifically play a large part in gang culture and are defiantly great to have. With that being said this isn't 2002 color banging has died out, although it would be nice to have branded items (not even sports hats but stuff like Nike Cortez/Nike hoodies in general), its not the end of the world if they aren't added to the mods that will come with 1.1. Would they be very nice to have? Yes. Is it the end of the world if they aren't added? No. Just gonna have to settle for the BIGNESS hoodie.

  12. When I was younger, role-playing 25+ felt 'old' and 'wise'. That my character would be a police Sergeant with a marriage, a child, two cars, and a house seemed completely reasonable and attainable not just in-game, but in real-life, too. Now that I'm 30 and have lived the crushing weight of our hypercapitalist reality, that once reasonable idea now appears more like an exceptional aberration, and being 25 is neither 'old' nor does it make you particularly 'wise', I've discovered. You can't really fault people for not having a couple decades of life experience if they haven't even been on this Earth for a couple decades, and I'm not really in the habit of confirming people's life experiences just so I can make a judgment. I role-play my character in her mid-50's. Is it weird that she'll meet 20y/o's who own a business, are married, have a kid, and two cars? It sure wasn't weird to me when I was the one doing it. More importantly, that it was a bit fantastical and not strictly statistically accurate didn't really matter. I had fun, and I was within the allowable rules, and what my character had collected over his lifetime was done through role-play. When you meet said 20y/os with a laundry list of accomplishments, it would be much more reasonable and generous to assume that they've accumulated those accomplishments through role-play. After all, you can get an astonishing amount done in one year in-game compared to a year in real-life -- nobody actually makes it to a Lieutenant from Academy in that time, for example. And aging up is always a weird and tricky thing when you have many people in your role-play orbit.

  13. On the 19th of January, 2020 we officially started our faction and we opened Twin Towers Correctional Facility. We started mainly as custody deputies and had a handful of people who had patrol permissions. Throughout the time we've expanded and expanded. Units and bureaus were made, we've seen significant in-game events (like the Davis riots), our member count raised to ~120 members and we evolved. I want to thank all the people that are still here from day one but also the people who recently joined. Everyone is apart of the faction and we couldn't have half of the things today if it wasn't for our faction members. We'll continue to strive to give the best experience to the community but today is the day we recognize ourselves and the effort everyone puts in, day in and out. I also want to thank the GTAW community for its support to our faction, it means a lot to us! Happy anniversary!
