Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Staff Update. Though, this month we have a lot we'd like to talk about regarding our plans for 2021. Firstly, the Management Team will be going through a restructure and welcoming two new members to the team. For the upcoming year, the team structure will look like this: Management Head of Factions: Notbond Head of Roleplay Quality: Jester (NC-Bjork) Head of Staff: FearnR Head of Properties: Bombie This restructure will allow for more fluid functioning subteams that will be directly ran by members of Management. Furthermore, we will also be opening a new staff sub-team, Moderation Team. The Moderation Team will be a team focused directly on Managing the forums (i.e. asset transfer requests, refund requests, forum maintenance, etc). This is an area that has been lacking care and we're looking forward to having a dedicated team for that. At this point, the team is not completely ready to be implemented but it is something that we're looking to have finished for the immediate future after some internal work has been put into the team and it's ready to go. In terms of Faction Management, @Notbond will be stepping up to officially be the Head of Factions with @Sharvit taking his place in managing Legal Faction Management. @Knoxville will be stepping down to Assistant Head of Illegal Faction Management and will be helping @Shanks in his transition to Head of Illegal Faction Management. Sharvit and Shanks have been working very hard lately and we're very excited to see what they can bring to the table for 2021. In other news, @Canadian will be stepping down from his position in Management with @FearnR taking his place as Head of Staff. FearnR has been working very hard and is more than capable of this new position. We thank everyone for the great year we've had and we're looking forward to a strong start for 2021. Description: Make it so when someone uses /sendlocation X, it posts the /ame that is usually posted when you text someone, the one that states 'X has typed something on their phone' Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server?: Right now it seems to be the meta for people to call for backup by just spamming /sendlocation rather than actually texting or calling because it means the other people have no idea that backup is on the way, this then deters from a requirement of actual smart strategy for having backup ready. It stops the metagame of people just spamming the command while stalling until RP comes, with the other party having no idea that the person is using their phone to send a location, which people can't just do using their mind. They'd HAVE to have their phone out, fiddling with it in their hand.

Police Artist drawing from mugging incident- Volgograd 23/06/2011 Kirill Sorokin and his family are from Volgograd, one of Russia’s most important industrial powerhouses. Growing up on the outer edges of the city poverty was rife, the men working long hard days in factories and chemical plants while the stayed women at home taking care of the children. Kirill and his younger brother Slava did not have the best upbringing, ever cast in their oldest Sister Natasha’s shadow. Kirill and Slava where forced into labour at a young age doing mediocre jobs in the plant factories, crawling into small spaces, attaching small bolts, their child hands being put to good use. Natasha however received better treatment, being the family’s ticket to a higher class. In school Natasha excelled, outshining the rest of the pupils, receiving great commendations from teachers, and students alike. Her parents put all their spare money into Natasha’s health and education, feeding her more food than her brothers, buying her new books leaving Kirill and Slava with hand me downs, and worn clothes. This reality carried on into Kirill’s mid-teens where he began to forge his own path along with his younger brother, sick of his parents neglection, rather than following his Sister up the ladders of greatness, he stepped down the stairs into the criminal underworld. He began creeping the streets at night mugging and robbing helpless tourists, with his partner in crime Slava. During his time, he made some close friends in the underworld, not just associates friends for life, Yuliy Safaryan and Fyodor Arseneyev. Yuliy was the duo’s close friend and means of escape, Yuliy was a corrupt cab driver, extorting tourists by overcharging, and pickpocketing, he helped the duo by picking them up a few streets away after the incident. This continued for some years, the duo delving deeper and deeper into the void of crime. They progressed from street muggins to grand theft auto. However, their small criminal world was flipped upside down. By the time, the duo was in their twenties, the unlawful brothers were experienced in their craft, what was once a side job, was now a profession. The duo was stalking a well-dressed middle-aged couple, they clearly had some money, the perfect target, Kirill and Slava waited till the couple reached a dark spot, then they attacked. They done the same thing each time, Kirill would do the talking, Slava would stand behind them ready to strike if necessary. Unfortunately, the man had company, before Kirill could even finish his first sentence, there was a thundering boom, too stunned to speak all he could see was Slava’s shocked face, and a thin line of blood dripping down from the small hole in his head. His brother collapsed to the floor; all Kirill could do is watch as the well-dressed man nodded his head to two burly fellows dressed in black behind him. Kirill ran like a coward, chased by the two men he used his knowledge of the streets to his advantage evading death, leaving his poor younger brother behind. Upon returning home he told his parents everything, they blamed him for his brother’s death, they told him it was all his fault, he should never have gotten into crime. Kirill pleaded for their forgiveness and their mercy, but he was shunned, they disowned him. They did not call the police for they did not want to ruin their precious daughters’ reputation, in fact they wanted nothing to do with Kirill or Slava at all anymore. Guilt ridden, Kirill stopped his crimes, he went back to labour work, landing a job in a chemical plant, he tried his best to live a regular life, constantly reminded of his actions, having friends helped distract him, but in the end, he was still alone, he needed to leave this city, start a fresh, leave behind what once was. Now Kirill is 28 years old, it has been 7 years since the incident. Seeing online that there was an influx of people going to America looking for work, he began saving what money he could, starving himself some nights for that little bit of extra money. He applied for a working visa in America putting down that he has experience in plant production and factory work. After a lot of fees and meetings in the US Embassy in Volgograd his working Visa was accepted, this was it, his escape, his fresh start, his chance at living a life far from his guilt, and far from crime. He packed little what possessions he had, resigned from is job, said his farewells to Yuily and Fyodor and left Russia, ready to start his new life. He does not know just how deluded he is... An intelligent robber would simply ask for three items: 1. Your wallet 2. Your phone 3. Any VISIBLE jewelry They'd quickly pat your waist to detect any firearms. If there's a firearm? Snatch it and leave. If not? Then leave. The reason for snatching the firearm isn't primarily for earning a firearm. It's to prevent the victim from shooting them when they leave.

The /createdrink script is used purely to rename items for immersion purposes, but it doesn't show the BASE alcohol item used. Someone walks in and wants a Budweiser, a bartender can use /createdrink and rename a BEER to BUDWEISER. For example: 1) A bartender can currently take a BEER item (costs $60 from the liquor store) and use the /createdrink script and rename it to "Margarita". A Margarita should be using Tequila as its base, which in-game costs $120 or more (I believe). The customer OOC'ly will never know it was a beer to start, since the item name just reads as "Margarita". Why? Pure OOC money hungry. Its cheaper for the business owner or the bartender to use a cheaper item and pass it off as a more expensive item. There's no way for the patron/customer to verify the item was made with the right alcohol base, as the script doesn't show that. It makes more money for the bartender and the business owner doesn't have to buy the more expensive (albeit, correct) alcohol base items.

I agree and disagree with that. Yeah, alot of SUR/Crip/MS/18/Blood gangs on this server act the same, that's what I agree with, but what I'll put out there aswell is that when portrayed properly, SUR gangs can be alot different to eachother, same with blood and crip gangs, the only thing they really have in common is their race. The reality is that most of those gangs are worlds different to eachother, but that's only reflected IC in some circumstances and some people don't really see the differences in Hispanic gangs & their various cultures. ion think they shouldn't have agency to do it tbh. If a Yakuza fac popped up where they were doing Yakuza in the states related shit such as credit card fraud, identity fraud and other white collar type things, that'd be cool and i'd support that shit. Imagine running into a bunch of Jap dudes IC as an underage char and then finding out that they can get you fake ID's, passports and all kinds of shit, or another example would be a gang leader who wants to launder his or her money, the Yakuza could help with that aswell. It'd open shitloads of doors for roleplay, not only for the Yakuza faction, but for every faction they came into contact with. But i wouldn't support it if they popped up trying to act like the Yakuza groups in Japan do. if they did that in LA? They simply wouldn't survive very long. Especially if they tried to establish a street presence in K-Town for example, the issue I'd see with that is that Koreans despise the Japanese, infact when alot of Korean criminals spell the word 'Korea' in tattoos, writing or graffiti, they write 'Corea' instead, because the 'K' comes after J, and Koreans don't want to be below the Japanese. So if the Yakuza tried operating like they do in their homeland? pretty much be very easily messed over by either Hispanic gangs or by the Kkangpae and the Korean gangs that work under them. It'd be the same if MS-13 started acting like the Mara gangs in El Salvador and stopped paying taxes to La eMe, they'd get destroyed. Bit of a shitty comparison but hey, it's the point im tryna make. yeah i think it's overdone and poorly done most of the time aswell, but i still have nothing against them doing what they wanna do. I mean yeah I can see what ur saying, there's good and bad shit about the whole real-life california groups thing, but tbh i have such strong feelings about the matter because this was a serious issue on previous servers that I've played, you'd have a bunch of players for example portraying Southern California gangs, such as F13 or MS, then all of a sudden a random Norteno faction would pop up on the block next to them and try to start a war simply because 'Yall are SUR and we're NORTE', and half the times those groups not only don't fit in the environment they're rping in, but they ruined the vibes for all the other factions around them, that's mainly why I'm glad that IFM chooses to go off of real life when they accept factions, even though it means that certain concepts that might actually be cool to see would either be harder to get approved, or flat out denied.

More esex. No but in all seriousness tho my new year's resolution that relates to this game is I plan to turn over a new leaf and try to stop being a dick to everybody. IRL my new year's resolution is to get this fucking money and also to cut down on cannabis & alcohol abuse.

Disabled head movement. Properly roleplayed white supremacist factions, maybe I just miss rolling with PEN1 for all my years in LS:RP but jeez these out here don't come close to what they've offered. DEFINITELY a better portrayed PD, although I appreciate the effort they have about asking players what's what. I wouldn't mind at all if they just straight up copied LSRP's PD.
