  1. Chinese Immigration in America The Opium Wars (1839-42, 1856-60) of the mid-nineteenth century between Great Britain and China left China in debt. Floods and drought contributed to an exodus of peasants from their farms, and many left the country to find work. When gold was discovered in the Sacramento Valley of California in 1848, a large uptick in Chinese immigrants entered the United States to join the California Gold Rush. Following an 1852 crop failure in China, over 20,000 Chinese immigrants came through San Francisco’s customs house (up from 2,716 the previous year) looking for work. Violence soon broke out between white miners and the new arrivals, much of it racially charged. In May 1852, California imposed a Foreign Miners Tax of $3 month meant to target Chinese miners, and crime and violence escalated. An 1854 Supreme Court Case, People v. Hall, ruled that the Chinese, like African Americans and Native Americans, were not allowed to testify in court, making it effectively impossible for Chinese immigrants to seek justice against the mounting violence. By 1870, Chinese miners had paid $5 million to the state of California via the Foreign Miners Tax, yet they faced continuing discrimination at work and in their camps. The 1871 "Chinese Massacre" One of the darkest episodes in Los Angeles history was the 1871 "Chinese Massacre". The event was preceded by simmering anti-Chinese bigotry and, within Chinatown itself, conflict between two competing tongs (gangs). On the evening of October 24, several white constables entered Chinatown to break up an argument between members of the tongs. Whether by anger or accident, a white man ended up dead by gunshot wound. Shortly thereafter, a mob of 500 non Asian Angelenos began hunting down and assaulting every Chinese they could find. After five hours, the mobs had killed 19 Chinese men and boys (only one of the victims might have been implicated in the death of the white man). Chinese homes and businesses had also been looted. Eleven white men including Sheriff James Burns and prominent Angeleno Robert Widney had attempted to stop the mobs but were themselves overwhelmed. The mob even shot and killed one of the white men who was trying to protect the Chinese. The incident drew national attention and provoked a grand jury investigation. Seven men were held responsible and convicted for the riots, but only one actually served any jail time. Francis and Adam were born and raised in Los Santos San Andreas on 6th November 1990. Their parents married back in 1985 which lead them to believe they were not settling well in Chinese due to unemployment of their mother. They emmigrated to American soil, Los Santos in hopes of finding a better life. The twins never seen much of their mother growing up due to unknown reasons. Their father was the worker in a fish factory full time and claiming any extra shifts he could. At the age of 5, the twins mother sadly passed away due to medical reasons. This portrayed a financial difficulty in their family. While growing up, the twins would try and do small jobs for their neighbours such as washing the vehicles, working as a bartenders, passing the notes. This would sometimes supply food to the table for the twins while their father, would be working a lot. By the time the twins began working their own jobs, Adam worked mostly on the vehicles, as Francis was helping his neighbor at the business. As the years passed, their father was eventually able to take out a loan and use the money for their kids to college. They successfully finished their college and they have recently just moved to Chinatown in a small based two room apartment.

  2. WESTSIDE (W/S) CARSON CAMPANELLA PARK PIRU The West Side Barson ❝Campanella Park Piru (CPP)❞ also known as The Nellas is an African-American Blood street gang located in Davis & North Rancho, also referred to as ❝Risky Roy Boulevard❞. Their neighborhood stretches from Brouge Avenue to further up North Rancho at the Hawick Terrance Apartments and Roy Campanella Park on Roy Lowenstein Boulevard. They named themselves after Roy Campanella Park, which is located on Roy Lowenstein in between their Davis territory, around Davis Ave and Innocence Boulevard. With the gang entering its fifth decade, the gang has a mixture of newer as well as older generation of Bloods in the gang. But before they adapted the Blood banner, they were originally called the Park Boys in which they named themselves after the park of Roy Campanella who was a black baseball player for the Negro League. A first generation gang member by the name of Jackamoe, along with 5 other of his friends, formed the Park Boys in elementary school. A little after the mid 1970's, members of the Park Boys attended Davis High School with other teenagers from different parts of Davis and eventually saw each other as family. One day, two Davis High School students by the name of Ralph Carter and Lil' Vince approached the Park Boys and told them that they were not going to roll with the Crips as they were taking over Davis as well as different areas in South Los Santos, but rather strike back. This created the Davis Piru umbrella, a Blood alliance, with the W/S Davis Campanella Park Pirus falling under the umbrella of Piru gangs in Davis. The first sets/neighborhoods to join the Piru alliance in Davis was the 151 Block, Fruit Town, West Park [currently defunct, no longer in existance], Campanella Park, Leuders Park, Cedar Block & Elm Street. Currently with the W/S Carson Campanella Park Piru growing in membership, so did it's turf which expanded to Brouge Avenue, Carson Avenue, Macdonald Street, & Roy Lowenstein Boulevard as previous gangs that were once in these areas went defunct (no longer exist) and also used these areas to expand drug turf to collect more money for the gang. All Piru gangs in Davis had a common goal: protect their neighborhoods from the Crips and push them off of their streets. Boulevards/Eight-Line (Area #1) The Campanella Park Piru in South Los Santos is comprised of two cliques known as the Ace Line & Eight Line. The two cliques hold down different sections of the Campanella Park Piru gang territory. The Avenues or Ace Line are located on Brouge & Carson Avenue, hence the name Avenues. The Avenues clique typically sport Los Santos Angels gear in support of their clique heritage. Roy Campanella Park & Warwick Terrace Apartments (Area #2) Roy Campanella Park is considered the headquarters of the W/S CPP gang. The Avenues & Boulevards heritage stem back to the park, therefore, no one clique controls Campanella Park. The CPP controlled park has historical value to the gang as this is where CPP was birthed back in the 1970s. The Warwick Terrace Apartments, which is located right behind the park is apart of the CPP heritage. Most of the gang members that claim Campanella Park Piru are housed in these apartments, Avenues & Boulevards both. ALLIES & RIVALS The Campanella Park Pirus considered themselves allies of all Piru Gangs, especially the West Side Piru. However, they have a history of feuds with blood street gangs in Los Santos (South Central), such as the Davis Lane Gangster Bloods, Bounty Hunter Rancho Bloods and the Carson Mafia Gangster Bloods Gang. On October 23, 1995, Lil Laniak 2 (LS Denver Lane Gangster Bloods), who was a member of the Damu Ridas (Rap Group) was allegedly murdered by the Campanella Park Pirus in front of his child. Their main rivals are the Original Swamps Carson Crips, Twilight Zone Carson Crips and the Tragniew Park Carson Crips. Other enemies of the Campanella Park Pirus of the Carson Varrio 155, Florencia 13 due to their neighborhood residing on the borderline of Davis and South Los Santos. Up until recently the Campanella Park Pirus were enemies of all Hoover Criminals until their shared rivalry of the Denver Lane Gangster Bloods came to a head. This led to peace talks in 2016 between the Hoovers & Campanella Park Piru gang, forming a truce between the two gangs. WESTSIDE CARSON CAMPANELLA PARK PIRU GANG INSIGNIAS AND LOGOS These logos & insignias are commonly worn by gang members of the W/S Carson Campanella Park Piru and each logo represents their gang and their turf. The Philadelphia Phillies baseball team (red "P" logo on the bottom right hand side in the below image) as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team (gold color "P" logo on the top left hand side in the below image) are logos commonly worn by all Piru gangs in Davis with the "P" logos on both teams representing the Piru gang. The Washington Nationals baseball team (red "W" logo on the bottom left hand side in the below image) represents the west side of Davis in the heart of the Campanella Park Piru's turf, the logo can also be worn by other Piru gangs that are located on the west side of Davis. Other gangs outside of Piru gangs in Davis are also known to wear the Washington Nationals baseball caps but an individual's gang affiliation can vary based on the color of the hat they wear. Wearing gang hats with insignias representing your gang is a highly common culture for street gangs throughout South Central Los Santos and even certain street gangs outside of South LS. The Cincinnati Reds baseball team (red "C" logo in the middle of the bottom row) represents (C)ampanella Park which is why they wear this particular team and logo. The Rosecrans logo below is often seen on the gang's t-shirts and other clothing to represent the gang. Rosecrans is the street that runs through the heart of the gang's turf and they created a logo for the gang and also eventually turned it into a clothing brand. 8. Short description: Adding text descriptions for vehicles, allowing players to further enhance the specifications of their vehicles Detailed description: This new addition would allow players to examine other players cars. This would increase the level of immersion allowed in roleplay scenarios, specifically those that revolve around car culture. It's just an addition to the attribute system, because if characters are allowed specific attributes, so should cars, because cars play a large part in a lot of character's personalities, and being able to display that personality on your vehicle in a clearer, more user friendly way, would definitely enhance the ability of these types of characters to develop and grow their car collection, and by proxy, their character identity. Commands to add: /vattributes, /vsetdamages, /vexamine [license_plate] Items to add: None How would your suggestion improve the server? Would make the car culture a lot more detailed, and would make it easier to play out specific details about one's car. It stops people from spamming out scenes at car meets to detail their cars. Would add a new level of detail to the roleplay, and increase overall immersion Additional information:

  10. La Casa-La Vista, Baby The following takes place a few days after the Devils Bastards had met with the Vagos. During a particularly slow evening at the Liquor Ace Store in Sandy Shores, Wilding receives a phone-call that irritates him. Instead of lashing out and breaking friendships as he usually would, the man envisions an idea to boost the Club's cash-flow all the while taking his anger out. 'This is business. Simple as that - Y'don't pay me, I take my payment as I see fit.'

  16. FAMILY The following events transpired a few days after Orleans' murder; Though a few days before the above. The Devils Bastards found themselves on a fairly smooth ride after the Orleans situation - Lucia Santana, a close friend of the Club, seen as Family to most of the members, had wished to learn to ride a Motorcycle. Seeing nothing wrong with it, and encouraging Motorcycle Enthusiasm, Wheeler, Toothless, (Banana) Santana, Wolf and Pike had hit the city to purchase the woman her Motorcycle. Looking for a place to teach Lucia to ride, Wilding picked Sandy Shore's Airfield. 'Such broken people, all bonded together. To laugh together and to cry together; From the deepest, most sorrowful pit at the darkest hole, to the brightest futures of which we thrive - We are Family, and nothing, nothing can break that.'
