  1. With a heavy heart, I am announcing the closure of this faction. It's been a really good run and I appreciate the amount of work everyone put into it. There's been some really good RP in white scene from this faction. I'd like to thank @Netsrac for getting me in the mood to write up the thread, @JoeySaladsfor being my right hand man throughout the duration of this faction, and everyone else that was involved in the project. IFM can L&A.

  2. Feature Showcase: Lockpicking Information Breaking into a vehicle and hotwiring the engine are now linked to a lockpicking skillgame, allowing for less random-generated lockpicking and a more interactive experience. Rotate the Lockpin and probe for a Solution by holding the Left Mouse Button and inspecting the stiffness and resistance of your Lockpin. Once close to a Solution, your Lockpin will twitch less and you will hear fewer sounds of resistance from inside of the Cylinder. Once this is the case, hold the Left Mouse Button even longer, to drive the Lockpin in and loosen the internal Pin. Continue the procedure, until all Pins inside the Cylinder have lost their tension (Circular Progress). Be careful with your Lockpin, pressing for too long against too much resistance will break it. Anti-Theft Of course, better Locks and Anti-Theft Hardware provide a more difficult experience for the Lockpicker. The Lockpick will be prone to taking damage on quality locks and in general finding the pin will be more difficult as the width of the spot for a solution will decrease. High Alarm-Kits of course trigger once someone or something touches their Lock-Mechanism, so be aware of that when lockpicking highly secured vehicles. Breaking your pin and letting the mechanism fall back will likely (Random-Chance Based) result in setting off the Alarm as well. Commands & Keys /vbreakin - To start lockpicking a vehicle door. /hotwire - To start lockpicking the engine-ignition A-Key & D-Key - To rotate the Lockpick. Left Mouse Button - To stick the Lockpick in and try to rotate the Cylinder. F4 - To abort the lockpicking.

  7. Short description: When a player is below a certain HP depending on what the damage was dealt with players should have a slowed walk, fall over from ragdoll effects, etc. Detailed description: When people are shot in certain body parts the server detects it with "You've been shot in X leg or X arm" why not have it as when you've been shot in the leg and you try to sprint etc you rag-doll and have visual affects occur to your character depending on how much damage has been and how the damage was inflicted. Commands to add: N/A Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It adds a mass amount of realism towards shootouts regarding to general overall gun-play for both sides of the fence whether it was illegal or legal. I personally think it would be a positive outcome and would make players think twice before getting in a shootout and increase RP surrounding it. This would fit greatly with the 1.1 upon release. Additional information There probably has been a ton of suggestions surrounding this specifically but I thought I'd make one anyways.

  8. No for a million reasons, but for the main one, I don't wanna be rushed. There's a lot of stuff medic's need to type out to simply load a patient onto a stretcher. If I have a five minute duration, I'm rushing everything. I guess people would like that, so that reason doesn't work. Alright, here's the main reason. This is a very game-y system to a traumatic injury that is horribly complicated in real life. Yes, if you were shot in the brachial, radial, femoral or any other artery in your body, you can bleed out in less then 2 to 5 minutes. But gunshot injuries are so inherently complicated that people shot through the head seem completely fine. If the bullet was a through and through? The bleeding might be insanely minimal to the point it could take days to bleed out, if the wound doesn't clot naturally. Internal injuries might take days to bleed out as well. GSW's could use an improvement in general. But a blanket five minute timer is gonna game-y-ify to the point of, "Oh fuck, my boy is down!" /helpup. "Lessa go bro!" /me runs off with bro. /me goes to hospital. /me bro lives. /me yay. I hate the fact that helpup is able to revive injured script persons at all, a drag feature sure, I can see that. But a revivable means that people just don't roleplay injuries, and downing a person means nothing. I'd rather see /that/ script change then a blanket timer. It's especially disappointing that these things are pushed to be rushed anyways. They are rushed irl, but over a 10 minute to an hour period. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_hour_(medicine) Not in two minutes.

  10. *This thread will follow the life of Doris Malloway.* Early Life. Doris Harrison (maiden name) was born on the Second of March, 1952 to the British couple, Irene and Norman Harrison who at the time resided in the small town of Jefferson, Texas. She was raised to be prim, proper, and always have outstanding manners. She was a polite young girl, and excelled in her education as she was incredibly bright. She learned a multitude of languages which would help later in life. She was quite shy and reserved, and only spoke when spoken to. Her parents always told her - "Children are to be seen, and not heard, Doris!". Talking to peers in her early education was often a struggle, and as a British girl in a Texas school, she was often the subject of ridicule, teasing and nastiness from her peers. She did however make one good friend, going by the name of Beatrice Wagner. Beatrice always stood up for Doris, always challenging her bullies, and protecting her from the pokes and prods she would endure as a young child. They quickly became very close and sought comfort in each other, as Beatrice's home life was not great. Her father would often use cruel punishments such as beatings, and screaming in her face. They were two peas in a pod. As Doris and Beatrice grew up through high school together, they began to get extremely close. The comfort that the shy young woman had found in Beatrice, had quickly evolved into a romantic nature. They would often sneak off during class to enjoy lunch together, or to kiss each other in private away from prying eyes. Doris quickly fell in love with her, and she would become the first of only two loves in her life. One day, in the blazing heat of summer, a group of friends walked outside during gym class and found Doris and Beatrice holding hands and were disgusted. They mocked them, and began to beat them up. Neither were strong enough to defend themselves against the torrents of fists, and both went home with bloodied lips and black eyes. When Doris's mother found out, she acted as if it did not happen and simply swept it to one side, fearing that her daughter was gay. However, when Beatrice's father found out, he beat her violently and near to the point of unconsciousness Loss of a loved one. After months of homophobic attacks, bullying and fearing going into school, the two officially ended their relationship. A month later, Beatrice committed suicide by hanging. She left a note which read - "My dearest beloved. It is with great sorrow that I cannot continue on this path, and so I must reunite with the heavenly father. My home life is as you know, not the best. I have suffered beatings, anger, drunken fights, and abuse both sexual, and physical. I feel as though there is no kindness in the world, and now that the flame of our undying, but forbidden love has been extinguished, so has the light in my life. Please know that this is not your fault, I love you more than I can ever express in mortal words, but without you I have nothing. Nobody cares about us, nobody cares how in love we are, and nobody cares about the suffering and pain that we go through. I love you. I am so, so sorry. My dearest, I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me, and know that I only harbour resent to those who have hurt me. A million stars up in the sky. One shines brighter - I can't deny. A love so precious, a love so true, a love that comes from me to you. The angels sing when you are near. Within your arms I have nothing to fear. You always know just what to say. Just talking to you makes my day. I love you, Doris, with all of my heart. Together forever and never to part. - Your sweet, your love, Beatrice" This note sent Doris into a pit of despair and hopelessness. She would often write letters to her deceased friend, and write letters to herself on behalf of Beatrice, acting as though she were still alive. This event would be something that she would never recover from, and would hold ramifications throughout her whole life. Early Adulthood. At the age of 18, Doris could no longer handle the trauma of the loss of Beatrice, and her and her family decided to leave Texas, and return to England. She would have achieved the necessary qualifications, and began studying communications at the University of Cambridge, and after 5 years, completed her master's degree at the age of 23. She felt accomplished, and decided to move back to her hometown of Jefferson, Texas to seek work. Only a few days after she landed, she saw a recruitment poster for the C.I.A and applied, and her outstanding resume along with her impressive range of language got her hired. She started off filing, and translating documents, but the director of the C.I.A at the time, George H.W. Bush, quickly took notice of her impressive ability to perform under pressure and keep a quiet and reserved attitude to her work. Within a year, she was able to apply for a field agent position, and was accepted in 1976. She went through all the required training and passed with flying colours, and was quickly given a position as an informant in the Italian Mafia in Liberty City, as the RICO Act was beginning to screw the big mafia bosses. Her duties were simple - observe and report. She did basic work for the mafia, taking calls for the boss, filing sensitive documents, acting as security and listening in on meetings. In 1981, she was taken off her position and her work proved to be valuable. She remained undetected the entire time. (Pictured: Doris Harrison as a Mafia Security Guard, Circa. 1977. Captured using the Kodak Brownie Six-20 F) Meeting Victor. In 1981, Doris met Victor Malloway during her debriefing period from her time in the Mafia. They were both positioned in the same area, unaware of each other and after the fact, they quickly formed a close relationship. They would go to the beach, diners, drive in movie theatres, and their relationship would rapidly become romantic, and they both fell in love with each other. Doris was finally getting over her grief and anger at the world for taking Beatrice from her, and although she kept her a secret, she was ready to move on and give love another chance. In the spring of 1982, Doris Harrison and Victor Malloway married, becoming Mr and Mrs. Malloway. They then took out a mortgage on a nice home and began to work together more closely at work and at home, never getting sick of each other's presence. Doris was more content than ever, and was finally at a point in her life where she was truly happy. She had a place to call home, a loving and devoted husband, and a stable job that she loved. (Pictured top: Doris Mallow and Victor Malloway as Mafia security, Circa 1977. Captured using the Kodak Brownie Six-20 F) (Pictured bottom: Doris Malloway in her home, Circa 1980. Captured using the Nikon FA) Adult Life In 1983, tensions were at an all time high between Russia and the United States of America. This only increased and was further exacerbated when President Ronald Reagan branded the Soviet Union an "evil empire" Because of this, The C.I.A. gave Doris a post as an informant in the Soviet Union, and her duties again were simple. Observe, Report. She succeeded for quite a few years. Regularly updating the USA with information and Russian information. However in 1985, a Russian operative caught her making transmissions to the USA, and she was arrested and sent to Perm-36, A Russian forced labour camp. She was held for 24 hours a day in a special regime facility, the only one of its kind in the country, to house political prisoners in twenty-four-hour closed cells. She was eventually freed in December of 1987, when the camp was shut down. As prisoners were being escorted out of the camp to more conventional prisons, she made a run for it and managed to escape, albeit with a bullet graze on her arm. She eventually made her way into a local town, where she broke into the Town Hall during the night to make an SOS transmission to the USA. Before the mission, they had agreed on a meetup area should things go south, and within 12 hours, US operatives picked her up just outside of Kuchino and got her out of the country. The mission was supposed to last until 2000 (provided that the cold war did not end) but she requested immediate evac. The mission was not a total loss, and she was able to provide the CIA with invaluable information, that directly helped bring an end to the cold war, and in 1997 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her efforts and bravery. (Pictured: Doris Malloway after receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Circa 1997. Captured using the Nikon FA) **This image would have the medal around her neck, but due to OOC restrictions, there is no clothing item like that in Menyoo, as far as I am aware** For the next several years, she stayed off the field, as the mental toll and PTSD of being imprisoned in a forced labour camp proved too much, and she was no longer as sharp or witty as she once was. She remained in the C.I.A, but as a translator of documents and intercepted messages. She took an early retirement in 2003 after 27 years of service, to focus on her home life and her relationship with Victor. However, 3 years later, Doris was diagnosed with early onset dementia after several months of memory loss, mood swings and difficulty concentrating. In 2006, Victor also retired from the C.I.A to take care of Doris full time, and support her needs. The loss of Victor. After just a year into their retirement, Victor fell extremely ill and was rushed to the hospital. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and they had caught it too late. The doctors gave him just 7 months to live, and so in that time Doris and Victor began working down their bucket list. They went skydiving, scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, rented and drove a sports car around some of their favourite spots, and made many more happy memories together. As the year went on, they did as much as they could before Victor was bedridden. He managed to live longer than expected, but died after 14 months on the 19th of October, 2007. He passed away in his sleep, and his funeral was held shortly after, and his remains were cremated. This event worsened Doris's condition over the coming years. Her memory loss would increase, her mood swings became more violent and her awareness of her surroundings became extremely bad, claiming that she was in different cities and time periods. She would also fall into a pit of paranoia and loss, believing that her teenage love, Beatrice was meeting her for lunch, or coming for dinner, or writing her letters. Doris began her habit of writing letters to herself from both Beatrice AND Victor to cope with her loss and sadness. These memories would become some of just a few that she never forgot. (Pictured: Doris and Victor Malloway, Circa 2007, a few months before his death. Captured using the Nikon FA) Late 2000's - Present day. In 2010, Doris was forced to sell the home that she and Victor had bought, and decided to move to Los Santos where she bought a crummy apartment on Ginger Street, Little Seoul. She brought almost everything, including the entirety of the contents of Victor's study room, and so her apartment was rather cluttered, and filled with hoarded items. She also sold her car, and instead purchased a Faggio and a Surfer minivan to drive around the unfamiliar city. As the years went on and she was medicated, her feelings of paranoia mellowed out, as she forgot what she was even paranoid about. Her situational awareness became less dramatic in the new location, but she still suffered from delusions of Beatrice and Victor, firmly believing that both were still alive, just away on business trips, or vacations. Her life for the next decade would be fairly uneventful, she simply watched the years go by, not really doing much or making new friends. However, in early 2020, her pension ran out as the medical bills for her medicines, and Victor's cancer had forced them to spend a chunk of it, and she was forced to get a job. She decided to look around the city, and went into Trinity, where she met and befriended Valon and Lexi Gashi, who own the bar. She was honest, and asked the two for a job as a cleaner, or a bartender and she was brought onto the team to serve drinks and wipe down the tables. She didn't grow as close to Valon, but her friendship with Lexi quickly blossomed, and although they're vastly different in age, Doris considers her one of the closest friends in her life. They go drinking together, they go to clubs, and they hang out and chat over coffee. Lexi even helped her to clean her apartment, ridding some of the things that she had hoarded over the years. **The rest of this thread will exist to showcase her day to day life activities and important events. They will all form naturally ingame. If you have high quality screenshots, and wish to share your interactions with Doris, please post them as a reply to the thread, Thanks for reading!**

  11. Short Description: An item that property owners/tenants can install the same way they install a door lock, a safe, or an alarm. Detailed description: Basically the idea is to install the item (and have the furniture installed correspondingly), having a similarity with the alarm or the safes. This way the owner/tenants can see a registry with all the RP that has happened in the past in that interior. This registry could be accessed with a simple command such as /cctv or /managecctv which would open up to a UI where we would see the logs of the /me, /do and all the entrances and exits to the interior. In that UI we could also manage other settings such as how far in the past do the cctv logs save, or if we want to save a specific cctv extract for the future (for example for robberies and their corresponding investigations). For the exterior cctvs this could also work but with a limited area around the building (and always roleplaying on where the cameras aim, and their weakspots). Adding automated "[Name] has entered the property." messages could also be an option, even if the characters don't actually roleplay inside. Commands to add: /cctv or /managecctv, /installcctv Items to add: cctv as a purchaseable item such as the doorlocks, alarms and safes. How would your suggestion improve the server? This way we can reduce the load on the admins without having to ask them for the logs in case something happened. This also helps reducing the powergaming done by the workers in a business for example that don't roleplay some situations, or roleplay them badly. Also, it'll help in situations where actual criminals would refuse to accept cctv, thus forcing them to actually roleplay having their actions being saved. Additional information: I'm open for any suggestions, but this would be all in the overall, it'd specially help the businesses and the legal factions.

  12. THE INTERVIEW Anthony Rossi places himself onto the couch and looks straight at the camera equipment, adjusts his aviators and clears his throat. “So, where do I begin? D’Arco wasn’t really a big name around the strip at the time. In Las Vegas they were more known for bein’ pickpockets and guys you could hire if you had a problem. Now, this was during the late 80’s. I was with those guys, we saw each other as brothers. We ended up doing a few security jobs at this casino called The Dune.” The reporter squints her eyes, interrupting Anthony’s story. “The Dune?” “Yeah. We didn’t know at ta’ time, but they had Raymond Patriarca as one of the main investors. So we end up together on a shift one night. 19th October, 1988. I’ll never forget that night. I was working the front that night, all of a sudden two guys walked into the casino. They were from.. what’s now known as Donna Street Crips or something like that. I tell ‘em to get lost, we didn’t appreciate them coming in, all trouble. They didn’t wanna leave, next thing.. they tried to swing at me...'' “Then what happened?” “Then Joey DiNunzio and Johnny D’Arco happened. They were only a little bit bigger than me, I was a kid at the time. So they threw them out of the casino faster than they came in. Hehehe.” “Aha, I see.” “First thing that happened? Raymond Patriarci took the three of us up to the VIP and I had my first glass of Dom Perignon. After that night, we started getting more and more jobs outside the casino.” “So this is when you started getting involved?” “Yeah. A few days after this happened, a guy who worked for the Patriarca’s, Joe Bianchi, called us and had a meeting. He paid us five grand to go and shake up a guy named Renaldo who owed a lot of money. So we went there, found the guy and gave it to him.” “You gave what to him, exactly?” “We beat him up. Joey and John almost killed the guy, I tried to calm ‘em down but they were like animals. So we went back to Joe with his money. That was our way into this life.” “So tell me about the bust? How did it end up like that?” “Right, that’s a long story. What happened was Johnny and Joey flew out to Los Santos in 1995 during the largest crack epidemic that San Andreas had ever seen. I joined them a year later after they had set everything up down on Atlee Street, across the precinct. It was a smart move, the area was crime-free while the rest of the city was on fire. It was the golden years of selling and trading drugs. But anything comes to an end. And as you already know, Joey DiNunzio got picked up and was given 15 years in the can for the cocaine bust in 2002.” “So how did you and those guys recover from that?” “It’s pretty simple, when one person gets off the streets another one bumps up. Things started to spin out of control, there was internal conflict for years without an end. This is where Jerry Limone is brought in. He was a long-time friend of Johnny and helped sort it out.” “What about today? Are they still out there?” Anthony lets a slow smirk appear on his face before he says. “They’re out there, don’t ever question that.” The New Era After the release of the known mobster Joseph DiNunzio, it was well known that there was work to be done internally in the crew. The dispute had come to an end after years of chaos and instability. The crew had suffered during these years and it was estimated that it would take a long time before they were back at the same heights in the underworld as they were known for. They still conduct most of their operations out of Downtown Los Santos, counting multiple rackets and schemes such as loan sharking, smuggling drugs and illegal gambling. OOC Information: The D’Arco Crew reserves the right to carry out a character-kill to any character that aspires to become a part of the faction. Screenshot permission, questions or concerns can be directly forwarded to @Jägerbomb and @KC..

  13. History The 5th and Hill gang is a gang that was formerly located in Downtown Los Santos. It was formed in the 1970’s by a group of Mexican immigrants who made a living as day laborers in the 5th Hill streets in Downtown Los Santos. They started their career as criminals by robbing pedestrians who passed through their neighborhood, before starting sales in Heroin in the 1980’s. Authorities believe they received the Heroin in bulk directly from Mexico. The gang is mostly known for being one of the few Mexican gangs in Los Santos that didn’t adopt the Sureno identity, Rather joining the “Paisa car” in Prison, and adopting “22” to their name, 5th and Hill 22. The 22 symbolizes “BB”, the Border Brothers gang. They’re known for having close ties to the Sinaloa cartel, the Border Brothers gang, and various other criminal organizations. Everything was looking up for the gang, heroin was their best selling product. Downtown turned out to be an ideal spot to find clients and dealers because of the low-income immigrants that were easy to spot and recruiting was easy because the gang offered a better, easier way to make a lot of money rather than doing manual labor. The gang was known to be the top drug dealers in Downtown LS, though not everything went as planned. In 2007 the LSPD launched an investigation into the 5th and Hill gang. Months long crackdowns affected the sales and many high profile members of the 5th and Hill gang were arrested. “The police, after the raids were over, found over a million dollars worth of heroin. Police say that they recovered over 45,000 balloons of the product. They also found 85 pounds of tar heroin, enough to fill half a million balloons when diluted. Officers arrested 31 people, alleged leaders of the gang, as well as scores of alleged street sellers that worked for them.” https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2007-mar-15-me-heroin15-story.html Present After the crackdowns on the gang and a lack of clear leadership the gang was near being defunct. Property values in Downtown LS grew higher and higher, driving more and more members of the gang out of Downtown and into the ghettos of South Central. Juan Garcia, the gangs former leader, is currently serving a life sentence in the Twin Towers jail for the murder of a member of the 18th Street gang, though there are rumors that he is currently continuing to run the gang. The remnants of the gang fled to Northern Rancho, where property prices were much cheaper and being a gangster was overall easier to do than in Downtown Los Santos. The 5th and Hill gang are now located in North Rancho, neighboring with the Innocence Family Gangster Bloods, and Florencia 13 Culture and beef The gang is known for getting along with most blood gangs. They have a few beefs, but their biggest one is with the 18th Street gang. The gang had beefed with Florencia 13 in the past, but buried the hatchet so they could band together against 18th Street. They’re known for throwing up an H, or the number 5 with their hands as their gang sign. They wear mostly orange, and sport a variety of different hats. Most hats seen being worn by the gang members are the Florida Mariners, Houston Astros, Atlanta Falcons, and the Pittsburgh Pirates (for Paisa).
