  1. So I wanna start off by saying that most of these guys commenting here against extortion RP have probably just been fed false information by people who drive 300k cars, own 1m worth of assets and have a problem of paying 10k weekly for /genuine/ support of a criminal organization. And here I'm speaking to the portion of people here who have already been extorted, including the character of the thread poster. Your characters have accepted the weekly fee with a broad smile, ever since then most of the characters start calling the extorters every five minutes for them to solve your characters problems. Everyone who was extorted, including the thread poster can confirm and not lie, that the extorters have been solving their characters issues every single day - and that a petty fee of 10k per week is not even worth the hassle. By paying that stupid amount of money, your character pays for being backed by people who'll make sure the business works without problems. Here are some pictures of business owners gladly requesting help from their fellow extorters: https://gyazo.com/bddd7210e09a2e248865633ffb02358b https://gyazo.com/63a5164a26fbd68dd7b185a1b3a25e26 Also regarding the statement where you mentioned extorters burn businesses as soon as they say no? This is not the case, they give multiple chances to business owners to cooperate and provide them with good enough reasons for them to accept. Burning a business is not a process you do over night, since you need to go through IFM and have enough evidence in order to burn someone's business. Same goes for killing the business owner. So before you start bashing out on extortion RP and calling them money farmers and unrealistic roleplayers, think how many times you have actually used the extorters to deal with your problems. Tuck your PF pistols back and chill out. Also, @Daquan Kingston, @resick . You should be careful not to derail the thread. https://forum.gta.world/en/index.php?/topic/28669-aziz-jumayev-4-3/& https://forum.gta.world/en/index.php?/topic/29122-burim_dobraj-adnan_imeri-ylldrit_grajqevci-esad_kanani-1-2-3/ https://forum.gta.world/en/index.php?/topic/28909-daquan_kingston-3-14/&

  6. Richard "Ricky" Castellani was born to Joseph and Maria Castellani. He was the youngest of four boys growing up in a small apartment in Cerveza Heights, Dukes, Liberty City. The neighborhood was a mix of Italian, Chinese, and Hispanic communities all vying for their slice of the American Dream. Ricky spent most of adolescence hanging out on Huntington Street with the other Italian-Americans in his age group. Petty crime, street-corner scams, and fights with the Chinese and Puerto Rican youth “gangs” was a weekly occurrence in the neighborhood. As he got older, Ricky’s friends moved into more lucrative forms of crime as they began to associate with the local La Cosa Nostra members in the neighborhood. Not wanting to go down the all too common road ending in prison, or death, Ricky steered away from a life of crime and instead went into working construction for his cousin’s company in Liberty City. For ten years he worked as a contractor and a union foreman until finally deciding that he needed a change. Eventually, he made a decision that would forever alter his life. Ricky packed his bags, loaded up his car, and drove west, not stopping until he reached the sun-washed streets of Los Santos. Without a job, an education, or any connections, Ricky spent his first few days in Los Santos exploring. One day, he stopped in for a drink at the Rubicon and met Marco Caruso. Marco was kind enough to introduce Ricky to Carmine Gallo who gave him a job working at his café. Ricky was finally getting on his feet and enjoying his new life when Marco Caruso was brutally murdered in the street. It was at this time that Ricky connected the dots and realized that he was working for the same types of people that he had just gotten away from in Liberty City. Infuriated by the death of his only friend, Ricky began working side jobs under Carmine Gallo…some of which were legal, most of which were not. At the end of July, Ricky officially went on record with Carmine Gallo as an associate of the Conti Crime Family.

  7. Hello everyone! Myself @Leecho (Isaac Freeman) and @DoctorJxy (Pierre Cloud) have started PlaybackFM, Los Santos' only IC Talk Show and Radio station. We are currently in our infancy, and are working with FM to get the ball rolling. In the meantime we've been on air and have had a lot of fun engaging with you guys in-game. We've ran a few small competitions, a few dilemmas and general topical talks, that accompanied by an ever evolving playlist of music. The love we have been getting from you guys that have tuned in to station 108 has been great, and it boosts our morale to want to keep going on air. On an OOC level we are offering a non-profit service and aim to keep this going as we have a passion for radio. In Character we hope to monetise where possible and make a loveable radio station that brings a level of fame to Los Santos. We aim to work with a lot of media related factions such as Magnolia Records and also Los Santos News Network, but this is only the beginning. We will be offering advertisement space for companies, regular news updates and more. At the moment our shows are sporadic and not scheduled, this is due to a few real life commitments, but mostly our broadcasts have been more of a test broadcast to see if the public like what we're doing. We are now leaving our beta phase (so to speak) and are ready to start bringing scheduled live entertainment to Los Santos!! We have a lot of ideas to expand but that can only happen once this ball really gets rolling. We will be getting callers (you guys) on the radio and having your voice heard across Los Santos. Hosting massive raffles for cash prizes, cars and more! But ultimately none of this will be possible without you guys, the player base. So as such, this post is here to ask what YOU GUYS want from an IC Radio Talk Show, and any other ideas Thanks for reading, your comments are greatly welcomed!! To help support us IG we have also created the following suggestion if you would like to take a look:

  11. You have zero idea what you're talking about. He didn't get 9 days for conspiring to kill a legal business owner. It was part of a whole sting operation where he conspired, with the person he was extorting, to murder someone at the behest of the extortion victim. The case is more elaborate than you're giving it credit for and I suggest you go read it over before throwing out misinformation like that. Also there's tragedy all over this thread--people taking simplified summaries and running with them as if those summaries could draw light to the facts and specific and different circumstances surrounding every individual case of [attempted] extortion. The fact that the example where a player, John Reynolds, is literally rule breaking to avoid roleplaying as an extortion victim yet is somehow getting sympathy points from others is mind-boggling.

  12. I have no issue telling people what they're doing is wrong - this thread is literally that. And you've read this thread where I've done that and then replied to ask why I've not done it. It's bizarre. If I wanted automatic full stops and capitalization, I would've suggested that. But I didn't and I don't. This suggestion is to correct a very simple and persistent issue which has endured despite me telling people about it over and over for ages. We have had more than ten years of GTA roleplay and this has always been an issue, no matter who's told what. Correct it and I can then focus on giving people advice about the actually substantive stuff - and not just small punctuation mistakes. I don't care if you're mad about people for joking about ERP. It's kind of inherently funny to a lot of people. And if we stop joking about ERP, next you'll want us to stop joking about anything. Slippery slope. (As an aside, it's awesome that possibly the most humourless post on these forums, which includes a po-faced paragraph about people being mean about ERP, is accusing everybody else of not being funny enough.) I'm not trying to get into your weird ERP versus non ERP culture war, I'm just trying to help people out with a system that will teach them to avoid a single enduringly bad punctuation error - that's it.

  13. Slippery slope, you'll want text to be capitalized at the start of sentences and automated full stops next, no support from me. If someone's having a problem with their grammar just shoot them a PM and let them know. "It'll also help out newer players who might otherwise fall into bad writing habits." is bullshit because you're reinforcing lazy grammar by allowing them to use an automated system as a crutch, "-.." I can understand because it translates to a proper em dash symbol but ".." translating to "..." is finishing their text/emotes for them and I'd argue way worse for a newer players learning experience. Once again and in the most respectful way possible, grow some balls and make contact with people who you see struggling with grammar, not laugh and joke about people misunderstanding grammar in your little friendship groups, not only is it unfunny low hanging fruit along the same old jokes about ERPing but it's also counterproductive and doesn't help new players, I can tell you from experience people messaging me and helping me in areas I struggled with did way more for me than petty members of the community with a RP superiority complex.

  15. "Forward" Alan Oscar Barker Holmen, Wisconsin9 JUL 1986 EducationUniversity of Wisconsin-La CrosseAssociate's in Criminal Justice Notable Work HistoryNational GuardSpecialist (E-4) 15T UH-60 Helicopter Repairer 2003-2007Onalaska Police DepartmentPatrol Officer 2008-2015Los Santos County Sheriff's DepartmentDeputy Sheriff 2020-Present Los Santos Police DepartmentDeputy Sheriff 2021-Present San Andreas Park RangersCorporal 2021-2021 Background Born in the rural town Holmen, Wisconsin with a tiny population of a few thousand, Alan's story begins by being born into a large family of 7. Him, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. His father was a mechanic and his mother a florist. He was the youngest in the family, with the oldest sister being 8 by the time he was born and the youngest one being 2. The household was doing well. An average middle class American family.By the time Alan was ready for school, things were not going as well as they had been a few years prior. The eldest sister had developed a habit of hanging out with undesirable crowds. Taking after their eldest, two other sisters also developed a frequent habit of delinquency. His older brother and sisters started staying out late, coming home inebriated, or just not coming home at all days in a row. While in fourth grade, his oldest sister, Abigail, was arrested for breaking and entering. The parents, naturally not wishing for their child to spend time in jail, bailed her out with savings that were already being depleted by the mortgage and other bills that started piling on as time went on. After bailing her out, she with the help of the oldest brother, stole the entire college fund they had set aside for the children. With Abigail gone with the money and Jason, the oldest brother, left to blame, the mother's heart was broken. She resorted to the only drug that she could get her hands on without a prescription - alcohol. As years went by, Alan's mother became an alcoholic, his parents were separated, their house had to be sold to make end's meet and the family was separated with half of them living with the mother and the other half living with the father. Alan remained with his mother. The town was small and rumors spread like wildfire. The children at school, vicious little creatures as they are, began bullying Alan and everyone else in the Lawson family who still went to Holmen High. To make matters worse, this being early 2001, Alan became to realize that he wasn't attracted to girls. Trusting one of this "friends" with this information, it backfired on him terribly. Labeled a faggot, a fairy, and all kinds of other horrible things by other teenagers, Alan became incredibly distrustful and self-loathing, even to the point of suicidal thoughts, though he never tried to carry out these thoughts. When word of Alan's orientation reached his mother, she had to do her due part as a devout Christian - she sent him to conversion therapy. Pastors and holy men abused him, physically and mentally, "exorcising" the demons that held over him to make him a straight man. It worked. Coming out of a grueling ordeal of many weeks of making him believe that laying with a man was wrong and the work of the Devil, Alan convinced himself that they were right. "Lying with a man as with a woman" was sinful. Unnatural. He would have no part in punching his own ticket to Hell.He didn't know, or admit this, but he had a lot of pent up anger bottled up inside of him. Between his family separation, bullying and loathing himself, he needed a way to express his anger. Unable to swim, the marines were not an option so he went to talk to a National Guard recruiter. Two weeks later he was in Fort Benning. 3 months later he was in Fort Eustis, learning to become a helicopter repairman. 4 years later he was out. Never saw any action. He was deployed once, but never went on a patrol. Instead, cooped up in Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, repairing helicopters. He did not find the alleviation he needed from the military. Having always had a good rapport with a local police department in another town, he found himself talking to another recruiter. Almost a year later, he was hired on as a police officer. He was off to a rocky start. Being a hot headed 22 year old army man with pent up anger, he had to puff up his chest and be a big man. A lot of condescending attitude towards civilians, minor use of force violations, and a few formal complaints filed against him. Rather than firing Alan, the chief at the time instead sent him to counseling. This was a monumental 180 for Alan. He had never had anyone to really talk to about how he'd felt, how angry he was, how his childhood was marred with abuse and family infighting and how much he wanted to make someone else feel as rotten as he did inside. With all of his inner struggles laid out to bare, he finally got the professional help he needed. While the counselor was not able to fully extinguish the fire burning in him, she was able to at least dim the light a little bit. He no longer had any complaints against him (that were sustained at any rate), he did not use excessive force and he started speaking to people with respect, rather from a perspective of authority. In the military it was simple. A higher rank than you needs a salute and a "yes, sir!" and you're golden. With no one listening or breathing down his neck, he got carried away with the power that his badge gave him. As time went on, he started following the habits of his mother. The stress of being a police officer started getting to him. He thoroughly loved the job. The office on wheels, the similar camaraderie he got in the military and the relationship with the small community of Onalaska and the pay wasn't half bad. But the job introduced him to a world he never knew existed and not simple things one can just brush off and forget. Talking about it helped, but when left to his own thoughts, he developed a sorrow that words could not help. Having matured a great deal, and recognizing the footsteps he was following, he handed in his badge. It was an incredibly tough pill for him to swallow, but a necessary one.Fast forward a few years, he works in the civilian sector in customer service in San Andreas. Free of any alcoholic tendencies, and the bad memories of policing fading, he wants to give a badge another shot. Maybe Blaine County will be different. WISCONSIN 1848

Would like to see your thoughts. How would your suggestion improve the server? It gives people a reason to buy weed or coke since the screen effect literally lasts 1 minute.
