It's with saddened eyes and a heavy heart that I'm writing this thread. Today was the demise of an era in the civilian role-play in Vespucci. The little corner store known as Rob's Liquor was sadly transformed without warning into an actual liquor store. A stranger outside of the situation would be like; "Yeah it makes sense". And to an extent I would agree. But Rob's Liquor was more than a 24/7 store, it was the centre of some character's role-play, it was a hub for creative role-play. Cops, civilians, gang members and factions often passed by for some quality and fun role-play. Sadly, it was taken from us. The store was the home for many of us, not only is my role-play ruined and destroyed by this little action that was done without thinking, and I'm not trying to point fingers to anybody in PM. But I must say I'm extremely sad on how things were handled, and no it's not about money if anybody is wondering. The profits margins of running a 24/7 is very low. The reason that I leased the store was to be able to manage employees, profits aren't important to me or to anyone working inside the store. A liquor store simply doesn't attract the amounts of players that a 24/7 does. Today instead of seeing my usual 10-15 hourly customers in an hour, I ended up having ONE in over two hours. So for me that's it, there's no point for me to run a liquor store, not only does it make no sense for my character, a store simply doesn't change in less than a day from a corner store into a liquor store. The young kids and teenagers that would come inside are no longer even legally able to enter the store. We were even helping the homeless by giving them expired food and free snacks, it was great. The amount of robberies were also very enjoyable. A lot of the robberies were casual and fun, and properly role-played (for the most part) On an out of character level, this store has been scripted as a 24/7 for over a year now, and I leased it as a 24/7 not as a liquor store. The city already has over six liquor store and within 1 miles of this store there's 2 other liquor stores... We didn't need more liquor stores inside the city, not only the ones currently scripted are struggling with role-play and money, they didn't need extra competition. Three Rob's Liquor were sadly transformed into a liquor store. For me what started as a way to earn money ended up being my greatest and my best experience on the server. I never expected that something as simple as a 24/7 would end up opening doors with quality role-play opportunities. I made so many friends in character and out of character, I'm literally so sad that this role-play for me is now ruined.. I hope that I can get some support from the community regarding this situation. I was even working to make an little intro like a sitcom for all of the employees, even that is now ruined ?12 points

Hello, Let me start by saying this. When the decision was made by Property Management to convert this to a liquor store, it was based solely on the exterior. In hindsight, I have no problems with admitting that this clearly was a mistake from our end, and I apologize for that on behalf of the team. Does it say "Rob's Liquor" on the front? Sure. But in this case, there is a clear history of this place being used as a 24/7 and this thread showcases the impact it has had on the local community, and it would be a shame for that to disappear just based on a technicality. So, how do we move forward from here? Personally, I am going to make sure that it is being reverted back to a 24/7 when it comes to the script, so that the roleplay can continue the way it has for quite some time now. This does however also mean that alcohol will not be sold on the premises for now, and that the conversion might happen in the future when this business is not actually being used by anyone anymore. TL;DR: We jumped the gun on this one, we are sorry and we are changing it back.12 points

Probably not the best thread to do this but I would like to give a big shout-out to Shane Mitchell for the great character portrayal and roleplay standards. Our characters did not come across each other for the best of reasons nor are they certainly on the best terms currently but he surely managed to make my experience and time interacting with him totally worth it.5 points

Maybe the ones in Oakland, CA. Each area is different, we're from the other side of the border (so Spanish is our native tongue, words such as 'Órale' and 'Barrio' are common Mexican terms and are in fact from the Spanish language) and in a state close to the border I'd say(?) Any problems or concerns about the faction please PM either me (Writer) or ElDiablo and do not derail the thread, thanks!5 points

There is an insanely limited amount of civilian oriented places to go that are not revolved around the scene of alcohol. Even more so when my main character is constantly surrounded by the criminal world. This place has been sort of a... breach in reality for him. A place to come and shoot the shit, relax, and enjoy some quality roleplay situations with a constant flow of people. It always felt so realistic - having conversations with one another, only to have brief pauses when others would come inside. More often than not, it has been an experience for those who came. A chance, for all, to have many characters from varying backgrounds that you may not ever get the chance to meet otherwise. If you were in a rush and needed items, that was fine! But those who gave the chance to allow the characters to interact always had an impactful meet (good or bad). Looking back at this store, I’ve found myself coming to this store even when others were closer. From an IC level, it was purely to see if any of these wonderful people were around, for Volk thrived on getting this type of social interaction. On an OOC level, it was because I genuinely enjoy the place - and wanted to give any new people the same vibes and quality that I have been given so many times. I like to think that everyone posting in this thread feels like they have put their own mark on this beautiful center for civilian roleplay. It breaks my heart to see it turn into a liquor store that will seldom be visited. I, for one, tend to stock up on any drinks in a one time purchase whenever something is open - if it even is.4 points

I share this sympathy. My character has spent plenty of time at the store, even working himself up to a manager because of how much I enjoy staying around with all of the roleplay. Now fewer people come by, and it kind of ruined the experience.2 points

It's a really sad situation because my character Ethan Parker has met all of his closest friends through this very store. We had a lot of great RP going, we were helping the homeless, offering free food and drinks for them. New players would come over and get hired, or even come over just to get some connections for their character. Rob's 24/7 was also a big RP hub during the not so peak times when I was manning the store just before I went to sleep, there would easily be 5+ people hanging out inside and outside. As a matter of fact, just before I went to bed this morning we had a group of 4 of us rping inside, then overnight it was just changed into a liquor store. While I totally understand that PM cannot eye every business for its rp everyday 24/7, we at least implore you to consider our case. It almost feels like we're being punished for creating a different and unique avenue for civilian role play rather than the typical bar, club repeat loop we're used to and frankly tired of.2 points

Short description: Toggle the Rockstar Editor on for better character screenshots and videos. Detailed description: For a long time, the Rockstar Editor wasn't usable on RageMP because it caused crashes. It's disabled by default. However, as of november last year, that's been fixed: https://rage.mp/forums/topic/6575-rage-multiplayer-10-developer-preview-1-release/ (ctrl+F rockstar editor) So, there's a little flag that has to be enabled, which is seen here https://wiki.rage.mp/index.php?title=Recorder::start I'm not a developer, I don't know how this works. According to this post https://rage.mp/forums/topic/2220-rockstar-editor-support/ you need to make the server use client side API to enable it. Frankly, I have no idea what that means, but that's what we have devs for! Commands to add: None. mp.game.recorder.start(mode); mode=1 or 0, maybe. Items to add: None. How would your suggestion improve the server? It'll allow anyone to make awesome screenshots using the Rockstar Editor. It basically works like this: you press a button, record a scene, then save that, then later start up the Rockstar Editor, and you can freecam around and add in some cool effects and stuff. That's something! The thing is, anyone can do this. You don't need the skills or patience you do for Menyoo or something, it's as easy as just moving the camera around, adjusting a very simple ui and bam, got a nice lil' screenshot! But this will just lead to everyone making unrealistic FB photos! No, it won't, because the Rockstar Editor doesn't allow you to add in any new objects, unlike Menyoo, which is already allowed and frequently used. What it will allow is making nice looking screenshots and videos inside interiors, which would be a great help for many things. Remaking interiors in Menyoo is very difficult, as you need to import the objects from interior designer into the propslist.xml which I've found is a really tiring process and God, I just can't get it to work. Additional information: I'm not a dev, I don't know how this all works. But according to these forum posts I found, it is possible.1 point

While, the issue may seem small.... I do not see the reasoning behind allowing people to offer work in /ads, but not allowing those looking for work to do the same.. Forcing them to use a forum system or a in game system that a solid majority of us never even look at. Not only does it make the people, who need such help; lives harder. It also makes it harder on the potentially new player who is theoretically posting their resume, and work experience. "24 year old with skills in the automotive industry looking for work" is a reason to be kicked from the server, yet someone who is already established is free to solicit as they please? It's contradictive... And it caters to the communities "founded" members who do not rely on such ads.. I assume it is because someone, with plenty of money and RP, is tired of seeing it... When I see ad's for someone looking for work, I try to at least get them to the office to have an interview, and potentially gauge their RP.. This contributes to their overall interaction, and as a new player, it means something.. Not allowing someone to post sexually related offerings is one thing, but an all out ban is a broad approach to someone RPing listing their resume, as you can find within the classifieds section of many niche news papers all over the US. You do not hear "Looking to hire a bartender" - OR selling a used car... On the radio during your morning commute to work do you? So, essentially, /ads would be symbolic of you reading a news paper and looking in the paid classified.... My solution... Ad a /wad (LFW ad, call it what you want) that is available for people to post LFW advertisements (resumes) as well as job opporunties.. Going further, make all add types toggleable to end the argument about people not wanting to see it. Frankly, I don't like seeing my screen filled with realestate and car ads... But I know its essential, as is looking for a RP Job! In my opinion, we are making (potentially new) people jump through hoops to appeal to those who may not like seeing someone needing a job every 20 minutes... But at the end of the day, I don't like seeing club advertisements every 3 minutes either, and I am sure a lot of people feel the same way. I deal with it because It is a staple part of a roleplay server, and it breaths life.. It let's you know that their is something going on, or someone hiring, and ALSO someone is looking to contribute to RP via offering their skills/labor. Overlooking the jobs section of the forums shows a wealth of posts that have little to no reaction... While I know that if I was to post an appealing "resume" ad IN GAME, I would surely get at least one call. And the /I job system.. Hell, I've played here over a year, consistently looked for help during my projects and just found out about it after overlooking a discussion in the forums that mentioned it. And now that I know, I'd still much rather be caught off guard and read it in the chat.. That's the point of an ad.. The only thing it is doing is unrealistically handicapping players from succeeding in game. 90% of a lot of peoples (As I cant speak for anyone else really) time is spent in game... So why make someone go to the forums and risk potential exposure by those who may miss it? And the last thing is... If anything, can we get an explanation of why we are targeting these ads but not others? Why is someone looking for work an issue?1 point

OOC INFORMATION Beyond the ambitions raised in the IC thread, our main goal is to create a community composed by all kind of role players who wants to contribute to our concept. We wish to animate this little community and interest other people by organizing various events, creating legal businesses then find a place in the server’s factions environment as we are gradually becoming a MC 1%. Our objectives over the next few months could be summarized by internal growth & stability plus the creation of a solid member base. We would train, shape newcomers and all those interested in joining us with guidance and tutorials about MC Roleplay and about our faction's Roleplay. Of course, all of this would be achieved by respecting the rules imposed by the faction management administration and more broadly the server’s rules. Beyond compliance with those rules, you agree to the risk of being character killed by joining or leaving our faction. Before starting to post screenshots on our thread, please ask Solari or oggY's approval. If you need any further information about the faction (or any concerns), please do not hesitate to message us : Discord : Solari#8904 / Forum : Solari1 point

Alright, it's time to have a conversation about Non-RP driving and more specifically driving at unrealistic speeds. In the past few weeks, my faction has had five people ran over by different individuals. In most cases these incidents are caused because someone is going a ridiculous speed across town or on a straight away with little concern about pedestrians or on coming traffic. At first I tried to view these incidents as random, one off events but after tonight it's becoming increasingly clear that many players in the community don't see the need to drive correctly. They don't see the need to roleplay driving in a congested metropolitan area, instead any stretch of pavement longer then two blocks is an excuse to floor it to your destination. Chamberlain, Morningwood, Vinewood. These are all area where multiple factions spend time RPing on the sidewalk or in front of their homes, if this was a server with AI traffic? We wouldn't see nearly this much speeding and disregard for RP but because there is nothing stopping these drivers from just flooring it? They seem to see little reason IC or OOC to slow down. Below I've created a map to better illustrate the issue. RED: Straightaways where players commonly speed and crash into Pedestrians, other vehicles and sometimes buildings. Yet have multiple intersections, high civilian population and in some cases are in areas where taking an expensive sports car is a unnecessary and a pretty Non-fearRP idea (See the Southside). GREEN: Areas where speeding makes sense, offers little to no obstructions and because of the way GPS works, rarely brings other drivers on to the freeway. An ideal location for people to mess around where their sports cars with little worry about hitting a pedestrian or passing a PD vehicle hiding in a speed trap. I am not against street racing and I'm not against speeding, what I am against is people driving at speeds upwards of 110 MPH, flying through intersections with no care in the world because they know the server doesn't have any AI vehicles that could possible cut them off and cause them to crash. We have players who are driving so fast that their own PC's can't load objects and players fast enough as was argued in the following video. The player stated that he was driving so fast that things weren't loading in properly and that he didn't see the people he hit till after he cleared the intersection: https://streamable.com/p8ickl# Now, some people might say this is an IC issue or a law enforcement issue but I disagree. We can't hold PD responsible for arresting these people if these people aren't really RPing in the first place. This is a staff and management issue that needs to be resolved or at least looked into sooner rather then later. I'd like to know the communities thoughts, have you had similar incidents occur to you or your faction?1 point

I think if we wanna talk about fixing the economy we first need to address two things: Firstly, for the longest time the argument has been "Get away from script jobs", that there are too many people who grind them for money and that it's an issue. But on the flip side of this all the new scripts that are required to start a business cost a ridiculous amount of money. So even if you want to claw your way out of poverty to start your own business your still going to be forced to grind to get there. Sure you could get a job as a mechanic or a bartender or a security guard but if that doesn't fit your character? Your pretty much shit out of luck. Yes you could get a loan but as we've seen these also cause an incredible amount of issues. Secondly, I believe we've entered a period where so many of the lucrative clubs and businesses have been bought by the same group of 25-50 players, this groups wealth has become so great that they basically cycle the same group of properties and businesses between each other at a higher and higher cost. Look at the recent properties and business being sold for 500k-1.5Mil. Barely any character has that type of wealth sitting around, definitely not a new character. So how are new ideas and new characters supposed to take hold on the server? Truth is they really can't. Personally I think the best solution would be to force asset and money forfeiture upon CK unless specified beforehand in a last will and testament. I know of Way, WAY too many players who are recycling the same two or three million over the course of three or four characters using it as a magical trust fund whenever they need money. Forcing these properties and assets into the public domain would give new players the chance to snatch up valuable properties and stop the same group of players from recycling wealth over and over again. It would also give more status and prestige to the characters that have legitimately developed their wealth instead of letting people pop up overnight with 2.4 Million and a NC.1 point
