  3. Short description: The Weather system, due to the fact people don't know or ignore it, they wear crop tops and what not when it's colder than usual or raining. Breaks realism, something we are trying to portray. Detailed description: Currently the /weather command displays the temperature & sunny/cloudy/raining state without actually saying whether if it's windy and such, you can have a 30c sunny day with winds as if it's winter time. My suggestion revolves around adding the wind factor to /weather to display. Moreover I've noticed people either do not know /weather exists (similar to /examine /attributes commands, where every 3rd person I /examine has it state there is none set), or do not care by wearing inappropriate clothing to the current weather. Also would be nice to have it shown at all times near the HUD GPS data, this way people can see it at all times, and there is no need to have a cmd that new people to the server won't know about. Commands to add: None. Items to add: None. How would your suggestion improve the server? Over all will make it that people will start taking weather into consideration when they take their character outside the house, and dress them accordingly. As such would alleviate the lack of knowing another cmd to check weather like many commands new-comers do not know about. Additional information: None.

  5. I have to agree with you, I have yet to see Robo-cops in the sheriff's department, so far I've seen great role-play with a lot of deputies being friendly whenever they pull you over. They generally seem to have a personality and it's great. With that being said, players might not notice if all they are doing is escaping/running from them. But most deputies seem to approach players in an opened friendly way, if you treat them like shit, expect to have shit in return.

  8. The thing that people will never understand about the Yugoslavs, even after the war, after everything they went through at the hands of one another, they still find this "brotherhood," finding unity in the shared culture, the shared language, the shared history and sometimes, the shared hatred. Even if you break them down, force them to turn to tribalism, there will always be that unity, that shared heritage, it returned after the split in World War 2, it returned after the split of the 1990's Yugoslav war. No where is this brotherhood more obvious than in the criminal underworld, there is no such thing as the Bosnian or Serbian mafia, it's the Yugoslavian mafia, always has been. There's always been a mixed bags of ethnic groups working closely together, that's what's given them strength, that's why they have been a force to reckoned with. Brothers remain brothers, even when they argue.

  9. MARA SALVATRUCHA MARA SALVATRUCHA HISTORY Mara Salvatrucha, known throughout Los Santos as the West Side (W/S) Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) is a predominantly Central American street gang formed in Los Santos, San Andreas during the late 1970's. The criminal gang was formed in the now-gentrified Little Seoul neighbourhood of Westside Los Santos. Criminal groups of Central American refugees were first documented by the Los Santos police in 1982. The criminal gang grew from the undocumented Central American population throughout the 1980s, and by 1988, had became an established gang in the United States. In the decades since its inception, the Mara Salvatrucha have grown from being a ragtag group of marijuana-smoking heavy metal enthusiasts into a transnational criminal enterprise. The first community, or barrio, for Central Americans in Los Santos was formed in Little Seoul. At the time, Little Seoul was an impoverished neighbourhood of Westside Los Santos with a predominant Latino and Asian demographic. It had not yet undergone any gentrification and had a reputation for its high rates of violent gang activity. Although Little Seoul's first Salvadoran barrio was established in 1979, other similar barrios were formed elsewhere in West Los and Vinewood during the decade. The first community leaders for these barrios were refugees and economic migrants who left El Salvador during the civil war. Legal entities and other organizations were created in the communities, by Latino Americans, to help their immigrant counterparts with settling into the country. Because many of the Salvadorans in particular were refused asylum upon entering the United States, they were classified as illegal immigrants. Throughout the decade because of this, more Central Americans from the Northern Triangle nations came to the United States without any documentation. Ethnic conflicts in the streets between Central Americans and the already established Mexican Americans quickly became commonplace. This was due to the incompatible cultural differences between the Central Americans and the Chicano sub-culture. In particular, Salvadorans were widely discriminated against by Mexican Americans through being denied local jobs, experiencing physical removals from community association centers and getting harassed while peacefully living in their neighbourhoods. These cultural differences resulted in ethnic clashing between Central Americans and Mexican Americans over a period of several years, encompassing much of the 1980s and parts of the 1990s. Many of these clashes came in the form of street brawls and violent crimes involving edged weapons and firearms. Criminal elements within the Salvadoran community in particular, later identified as the Mara Salvatrucha Stoners by the Los Santos police, were found to be responsible for instigating much of these violent clashes. Although the Mara Salvatrucha Stoners had originated as a criminal gang of juvenile delinquents with an interest in heavy rock music and consuming cannabis, it had morphed into a brutally vicious and violent gang by the end of the 1980s. This barbarity was borne out of their clashes with Chicanos in the streets, where they brought their experiences as insurgents in the Salvadoran Civil War with them. In the early 1990s, the Mara Salvatrucha in Los Santos fell under the leadership of a former Salvadoran Army special forces soldier, Mario Villatoro. Mario brought his military experiences from the civil war to train and discipline the gang. This ex-military influence lead some investigators from the Los Santos police and FBI to theorize that Salvadoran state actors were responsible for the gang's early growth, although these theories have never been proven. Around the same time period, the leaders of both Mara Salvatrucha and the 18th Street gang had a falling-out over unknown criminal matters. The resulting effect caused a bitter rivalry and street war between the two gangs that still exists today. Previously, Mara Salvatrucha and 18th Street were friendly towards each other because they both allowed Central Americans to join and were largely non-discriminatory. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, hostilities in the Northern Triangle countries in Central America came to a close. The civil wars in El Salvador and Guatemala were finished and the Sandinistas defeated the American-backed government of Nicaragua. With some stabilization happening as a result, the US government began deporting convicted Central American criminals back to their countries after they finished their state prison sentences. Many of the deportees were gang members from the Mara Salvatrucha and 18th Street gangs. When these deportees returned to their countries, they formed their gangs there and rapidly rose throughout the criminal underworld. These large-scale deportations began after the Salvadoran Civil War ended in 1992. Eventually, criminals stopped being the only ones targeted by federal immigration authorities, and raids were conducted in urban communities in Los Santos. Many law-abiding illegal immigrants, who lived in the United States for several years, were deported throughout the 1990s. Prior to these waves of Central American deportations, the Northern Triangle nations did not have significant problems with gangs or organized crime. The re-building process following their civil wars and revolutions were fertile grounds for criminal gangs and other organized crime elements during the 1990s. Mara Salvatrucha adopted its modern form during the late 1990s, when it had already spread throughout multiple districts and neighborhoods of Los Santos. The gang had also departed from San Andreas for other regions of the United States, such as the Western, Southwest and Northeast states. Central American communities around the United States began seeing Mara Salvatrucha presences, and this included power-bases in places such as Washington D.C. and East Island City, LC. The gang continued growing and becoming worse throughout Latin America, eventually expanding to Mexico by the 2000s. At this point, the gang effectively became an international criminal enterprise. THE MARA SALVATRUCHA TODAY As of the early 21st century, the Mara Salvatrucha are a transnational criminal organization. They are active in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Central America. Allegedly, they have criminal contacts in Western Europe, North Africa and as faraway as Australia. In Canada, the gang has been documented by the Toronto Police Service since 2008. The gang is said to also be criminally operating in Montreal, Quebec. Within the United States in particular, Mara Salvatrucha has lost a significant amount of influence in San Andreas over the past decade. However, they have been strengthened in the American Northeast. In particular, the police in Washington D.C., Maryland and Liberty City have had extreme difficulties with combating the gang. The gang has garnered the attention of mainstream American politics during the 2016 US federal election, as they were targeted by Donald Trump as a part of his election campaign. Calls for harsh crackdowns on the gang, especially in the East Island City neighbourhood, have came from both the general public and the Republican voter-base. These actions are supported by people who want a tough-on-crime approach to justice in the United States, but many immigration advocates and even Mara Salvatrucha itself has cautioned that these measures will make matters worse for Salvadorans living in the country. The Mara Salvatrucha are notorious for their barbaric brutality in their diabolical personal pleasures. Its members are infamous for their usage of knives, machetes and hatchets to physically assault, murder, torture and mutilate their gangland enemies. They are feared throughout the urban and suburban areas of Los Santos for their involvement in violent sexual crimes that include sexual assaults and rapes. The gang's members have a well documented history of sexually assaulting and raping members of the general public within their homes, private businesses and other open areas. However, some do not fear the Mara Salvatrucha but instead hate and despise it. Some gangs in Los Santos, such as the Playboy Sureños (PBS) and the Harpys (HPS), have waged street wars against the gang for the sake of weakening their influences across the city. This was allegedly ordered by incarcerated members of various prison gangs in the state, but this hasn't been proven by law enforcement authorities. Other gangs under the umbrella of the Sureños and 18th Street gang have co-operatively worked to take up former Mara Salvatrucha territories once they suffer losses as a result of these street wars. Throughout Mexico, the Mara Salvatrucha are contracted by Mexican drug cartels as muscle for their efforts during the ongoing Mexican Drug War against the Mexican government, federal police and military. These Mara Salvatrucha members who act as muscle for the Mexican drug cartels go out of their way to be as bloody and barbaric as possible. Horror beyond what was seen in Los Santos in the 1980s and 1990s and what continues to be seen for that matter is created by Mara Salvatrucha members acting on behalf of drug cartels in Mexico.

  12. What's not true? That LEOs want to avoid arresting someone as much as they can? Because I assure you, man, it's very true. Just give us the slightest reason not to. Just the slightest. And we won't. We're happy to let someone go, because then it frees us up to continue interacting with others and exploring other avenues of roleplay that doesn't include actual, real OOC work for us and performing a roleplay we've done a thousand times before. Sometimes it's enjoyable, depending on the other player. Most times it's not, and it becomes routine, boring, and downright draining. Don't you think we'd rather avoid it if we could, and replace it with some good, quality character development / interactions? But, if your character (or the player) acts like a dick, you learn to treat them like a dick. If putting someone in jail means you don't have to deal with them for awhile, so be it. As for why OOC guidelines are bad, why don't you read through my previous post again? There is nuance in every situation. And yet you want us to treat all situations the same and develop guidelines for how an individual should portray their character when interacting with a certain age group? People don't need guidelines for that kind of thing because every situation is different. Every character is different. If an Officer is acting like a dick to juvenile characters, rarely is it an OOC issue - and instead more of an IC issue in terms of how the "juvenile" is acting. Sometimes, too, the development of an Officer, of the player's desire to portray their character a certain way, takes the front seat, and maybe they've become a hardass who treats everyone the same in the eyes of the law, with little to no lee-way? Or, they don't like loud, obnoxious children? Or they don't like kids at all, especially ones who commit crimes? Since there's not a legal alternative, they are simply left with the option to treat them as an adult. Do you really want to be told how to portray your character in such a broad way? The most important aspect to roleplay is agency as a player to have their character act as they would act, do what they would do, and not be limited in those terms except in ways that are cringy or unethical / immoral to the point of near illegality IRL. I think a more beneficial suggestion would be opening up avenues of juvenile detention with actual alternative pathways for Officers to take instead of it being a situation of arrest / not arrest in terms of misdemeanors and felonies.

  15. I’d like to suggest renaming server rule 11) Property Destruction to Property Rules and place additional guidelines people should acknowledge and follow. I’m certain that the inactivity timer for properties is there to prevent people from holding assets frozen for too long but with people logging in to keep refreshing this cycle, it should be punished if caught. Another rule that could be added is keeping interiors realistic, not only to their exterior and environment, but having to roleplay ‘extras’ renovations like a hidden room. I’m not sure if there’s any internal discussions about these issues, but having them present on server rules would hopefully deter people from cheesing the properties.

  18. A lot of the statements in this seem pretty broad and vague, I think it's unfair to slate two entire factions for the actions of few. i'm quite content with how SD and PD handle juveniles with the limited resources that jail currently provides. I RP a youngster myself, and also people within my faction RP younger people, and we're quite often treated accordingly when people appropriately RP their character's age and mentality around that age. From experience, if you do a decent enough job of RPing your character's age, displaying that to the handling officers, then you will likely get the outcome and RP you desire. I get why this is being suggested, but at the end of the day, it goes both ways. You can't really expect a cop or sheriff to RP differently when we have some teenage characters driving cars, shooting people with automatics, acting without an ounce of remorse, or show no fear at all when faced with long sentences. That's all something that needs to be developed in time as your character gets older, hence why I enforce strict internal faction rules on this within my own faction. In an ideal world, we could have all the separate housing in jail for juveniles, females, males, etc. but it's not feasible at this current time, so PD and SD are RPing around what they currently have. And no, banning minors is not the answer to solve any of this. You're essentially messing with entire concepts of gang roleplay by doing just that, I could understand having a minimum age set to like 15-16, as I do think it's weird having someone RP as a stick thin 13 year old, but their character model is a fit 6ft dude, and the age is still reasonable enough to get initiated into gangs.

  19. May I suggest /toglow instead of /autolow?

  20. A solution I would use is to run AHK and scripting a simple line where upon pressing a key like L instead of T, it’ll open chat with /low already entered. Though you’d have to backspace the /low if you wanted to enter a roleplay command like /me. As for the suggestion, would definitely make life easier. EDIT: L is used for locking but it’s just an example of a key.

  25. Written by Callie Palencia Additional Reading: Roy Capra's attorney, Leonard Lewandowski, appeared before a judge this morning, appealing the decision to restrict his client from visitation during his sentence of 75 years. The appeal was made on the account of Capra's recent terminal lung cancer diagnosis. The attorney says his client wishes to 'make peace' with family and friends before he loses his battle with the disease. The Judgement was handed down by Justice Monroe merely two days after the petition was filed. Credits - LS Noire Blog Capra, 68 years of age, was a devoted member of Cosa Nostra for the majority of his life. Authorities have offered several opportunities to lessen his sentence that would surely see him die behind bars - to which the elderly man has declined every time. Capra was arrested by FIB Federal Agents back in July 2019 and was handed three life sentences for the murder of Anthony Scutari, Carmine Basciano and an unnamed male. He was also accused of being second in command to an LS based crime family, which initially began as a faction of the Kansas City crime family sometime in 2018. Lewandowski commented to LSNN reporters outside the Davis Courthouse "I'm incredibly happy by the recent ruling by Justice Monroe, my client wishes to make peace with his loved ones and friends" The court declined to comment on the matter. #advertising (( @Chef ))

  27. Hello there! First of all, I'd like to thank the management for working on this as we needed something done to stop 'pop-up' dealerships that have 1 week lifespan and to improve the quality. However, I've just watched the video and I think there are a few things wrong which we have spotted, and would like to explain them below: • This change actually decreases the amount of role play required when purchasing vehicle and removes the human element. • People arriving to dealerships will not see the stock list in the form of parked up cars, that means that their visual modifications, colors etc... will not be displayed or shown in the stock image presented by the menu. “Flashy" cars or cars that have been designed to a specific taste won't need attract people anymore as it's just a list... with stock images on and nothing personal to give that car it’s own identity. • This actually removes one of the key traits of a car salesmen by removing the player to player interaction. There will not be “test-drives”, car thieves and the opportunity for 'sales talk' anymore. Cars can be sold pretty much already by any player on the server, what gives dealerships a unique experience is the skills those individuals have in purchasing cars for good prices and equally selling them at a price the customer feels is a good deal, 95% of the time this feeling comes from the discussion with the salesmen and I feel we would lose that should we go to looking at images in a GUI. • It'll be really hard to negotiate on the price, going back and forward in and out of GUI menus between dealerships waiting for offers to be reviewed instead of simple conversations. That applies with trade-ups or trade-downs. • Again, highlighted in the point where I said anyone can sell vehicles but without any marketing skills or communication skills they will be able to 'run' a dealership without putting effort in it, an exact opposite of what we try to achieve as the server matures. • No-one will properly role-play purchases anymore, just like at the mechanic garages, where you get your car re-painted in 4 minutes. We'll be seeing people just coming to the checkpoint and checking the list, buying the car with a 'forced' role-play. This will eventually turn into those mechanic garage roleplays. Get ready for pre-set emotes by the salesman. Basically, it's a roleplay-killer and not realistic at all. At any open dealerships in the world, you'll see cars parked up and you'll have a walk around, inspecting them. I feel like this will be perfect for people who'll run a dealership for just the money and are not in it to roleplay. Sunset Autos as an example is a bit of a social spot, people come to browse the cars but also catch up with people they know and generally encourage various types of role play with different audiences - I feel like this update will be perfect for people who'll run a dealership for just the money and are not in it to roleplay. If someone wants to list it, we have two places for it (facebrowser and the forum) Please do not implement this as it is and let us community work with you on this with the community to bring a better idea with functionality which actually sids and increases role play rather than discouraging it. -We need scriptwise help but what do we actually need? So let's talk about a few ideas, I'm sure we (dealership employees in-game) can come up with great ideas. • There could be dealership businesses. • Vehicles be controlled (sold) by the people above 'supervisor' rank in the business with commands similar to existing ones. (Such as /sv => /bsv) • The money will go to the business bank/cashbox. •• There can be 3d text labels on the cars, where people would see its details just like in a dealership in real world. • Anyone in the business can park up the cars, edit their labels. • There'll be a record of sales/purchases in the business page. Also, the admin that brought this script up is welcome to role-play with me at the dealership for a week to get some insight before implementing this as it is. Thanks for reading and please share your ideas too.
