  1. episode 2 : schmidt in trouble Later that night...

  2. While I do agree that CKs should happen more (any death that's in front of your main RP acquaintances for that character or meaningful death etc should always be a CK IMO), people on GTAW kill for the dumbest reasons and I've witnessed it time and time again. A lot of people take roleplay entirely out of character even when they say they don't and it's seen in their actions. Whether it's a rival gang member getting up in their feelings OOC treating shit like they're actually in the gang or some dumb shit or random stupidity in the civilian world like "hurrdurr u cheated on my char fuck u cunt" etc, you get the point. It's not easy to just be like "ah fuck it every death's a CK" because it would cause WAY too much chaos. Shit's toxic as is, add in the fact that people will literally target you oocly cause they don't like you and find any reason they can ICly to kill you? Yeah. Problem. Given, that wouldn't be the /main/ happening I understand that, but it would be happening. Imho it's one of the main reasons why PKs are there, they kinda slow/inhibit that problem, just very sloppily. A PK is harmless. Woo, you lose whatever RP you were just doing which is usually meaningless in most cases. If a player's PKed in front of their main peeps and just go right back to RPing with them and forgetting that happened, then it's weird and typically questionable at best, most of the "hardcore" rpers if you want to call it that that I've met would more often than not CK in that type of situation or just quit the character since it'd be a weird shitty plot hole to continue it. It says something about their standards if they want to continue after that. (I understand character attachment etc, but imo if you get your character killed it should be a CK) Also one of the big issues with this that I'll use as an example: Gang members on Facebrowser going out of their way to pick fights with civilian/legal characters cause of some weird ooc spite 90% of the time just so they can have a reason to fight/kill them. Most of the time it doesn't really go anywhere, but I guarantee a portion at the very least of those types of people would actually go do something if it meant they could potentially CK that person and piss them off OOCly. A lot of GTA RP is fueled by making people mad OOC, especially in the gang rp world (arguing that is pointless, I witness it constantly and other people do as well, everyone knows it). It's easy to say "oh just ignore them and that wont happen brotater chip", but the fact that it's even happening is goofy as fuck. Gang members don't go around randomly provoking people they don't even know on social media, your ooc distaste for something shouldn't guide your character to do some dumb shit like that whether it's some menyoo thottery or one of those edgelord pages with cryptic posts like they're some FB hacker or some shit. That would be a huge issue if it was a no-PK, all-CK environment on the server. It'd be cool to see something like that actually work and flow easily, but I think the RP standards would have to skyrocket and ooc mindsets mature like hell if it were to ever actually work. Admins can only do so much, forcing them to have to deal with this kind of shit just cause it's a cool idea in part of the playerbase's mind is a bad idea personally. TL:DR; I love the idea of no PKs only CKs, but it would cause more trouble than it's worth because of the state of not just GTAW's rp but GTA RP in general, since the same problems exist on all the servers IMO. It's a pipe dream that it would actually work and maintain a high playerbase.

  3. Lol. I've seen servers come up and die within two weeks with auto PK rules (Permanent-Kill, same thing as a CK). These rules in my experience are often heavily abused and more or less make players less likely to take action. The overall conduct and general attitude players I've seen on GTAW lead me to believe it'd be no different. After all, there's always a player report that bemoans someone for not groveling and pissing their pants for FearRP. Big fat no, this idea is just meaningless and serves absolutely no one.

  4. Little Israel is the unofficial name for the Jewish communities within Los Santos, with the people living widely ranging in income and wealth. This thread seeks to document said communities within Los Santos. There are people from every background in the community, from doctors, policemen and students to thieves, delinquents and robbers. While the Jewish community tends to be more religious than that of other communities, it doesn't stop you from playing any sort of character you want - For a lot of Jews, religion is more of a tradition that is upheld simply to preserve the culture rather than strict adherence to all the rules. Please keep this thread for RP within or based around the Jewish community. If you want to post on the thread and you're not sure, send me a PM.

  5. This is the story of Hope Harrison (previously Sophia Harrison), a twenty-year old hippie, drug addict that found herself indoctrinated into a cult called The Saved - lead by the mysterious, charismatic leader - The Father, Rowley Fletcher. Hope becomes one of the Father's most loyal and devout followers, willing to do anything to protect the cult as it prepares for The Reckoning - the second coming of Christ where the world will be rid of sinners and non-believers, and allow the chosen believers of the Father to prosper as they re-build New Columbia, starting with their camp - the Sanctuary. This is her journey as she delves deeper into the cult, whose goal is to convert as many non-believers as they can to ensure the Father's vision of New Columbia is met. A dark tale of cultism, religion and acid trips. (May have role-play that some may find offensive, sorry! But we're trying to achieve the vision of a dark, mysterious cult. All dark or slightly obscene situations have and will always be okay'd with the other party before any role-play takes place and nothing is ever forced on a person that wishes to role-play with us! ?)

  6. Little Seoul, Los Santos Little Seoul is a Korean-influenced neighborhood within the city of Los Santos. It is a highly diverse, dense and working-class enclave with a sizable Korean minority and has a far higher proportion of foreign-born residents than the average Los Santos County district. The neighborhood is characterized by small, local businesses which commonly have English and Hangeul names, as well as the dense apartment blocks that the majority of residents reside in, the largest of which is the thirteen-story tall Dream Tower. The district is distinct from many American Koreatowns due to the coexistence of commercial and residential life and demographic change in recent decades. Although the name suggests Little Seoul is a traditional ethnic enclave, there are a variety of ethnic and cultural minorities in the neighborhood with the Hispanic population now being a larger minority group than the Koreans themselves. In spite of this, the area remains culturally Korean with Korean businesses and traditions, such as food, remaining predominant. Korean culture within Little Seoul has began to draw from and blend with other cultures and groups, most notably Hispanic culture, with cuisine such as ‘Korean-Mexican fusion’ and lowrider culture becoming increasingly adopted within modern day Korean-American society. History Korea’s self-imposed isolation was brought to an end by the United States-Korea Treaty of 1882. The resulting diplomatic relations between both the United States and Korea enabled the start of Korean migration to the United States. Koreans travelled to the US in several major stages, the earliest of these was between 1903 and 1905 to newly annexed islands of Hawaii to replace striking Japanese labourers. Of the 7,226 Koreans who were drafted into labouring roles in Hawaii, approximately 2,000 later migrated to the West Coast. This wave ended in 1905 as a result of the Japanese occupation of Korea. Migration largely ceased until the second wave brought about by the Korean War which resulted in approximately 14,000 Koreans, many of whom were war orphans, wives, or relatives of American servicemen migrating to the United States. The third wave of Korean migration to the United States occurred as a result of the 1965 Immigration Act which ended the national quota system, which previously disincentivised Korean migration. The impact of the third wave of migrants was far more profound than previous waves in terms of background and numbers of migrants. The third wave of migrants were much more middle-class than previous migrants, consisting of mostly college educated Koreans hoping to make a lateral transition into American society. Upon arriving in the US, Koreans without medical or engineering degrees found such a transition difficult, resulting in many to become store owners and merchants. As a consequence, Little Seoul business owners were predominantly Koreans who either migrated or descended from Korean migrants, a predominance which remains to this day. It was during this time in the 1970s that Little Seoul became a distinct urban district as the third wave of Korean immigrants built upon a small Korean enclave within an underserved area produced by racial and economic segregation earlier in the twentieth century. Los Santos Civil Unrest In 1992, four police officers were acquitted for their use of excessive force and violent beating of an African American taxi driver during his arrest for speeding. Footage of the beating was taken from a resident’s nearby balcony and sent to a local news station, which fast became a worldwide topic covered by news outlets all over the globe. In the footage, officers could be seen participating in a prolonged beating of the suspect as he lay down on the floor beside his vehicle. In the resulting trial, the jury acquitted all four officers of assault, much to the astonishment and outrage of the local population. Soon afterwards, crowds began to fill the streets in protest of the result of the trial, which were met by an outnumbered and unprepared police force. A series of incidents between protesters and police resulted in violence breaking out, and by the end of the 29th of April, a riot had begun. Hide contents The riots continued for six days until order was restored, by which time, much of the surrounding area had been looted, vandalised and destroyed causing several hundred million dollars worth of damage. Many Korean Americans refer to the events as ‘Sa-l-Gu’, which means “four-two-nine”, referring to the date the riots in the area started. The Korean community were significantly impacted by the riots as law enforcement opted to defend more affluent areas and abandoned many other businesses to the looters. Koreans sought to defend their businesses, communities and livelihoods resulting in numerous dramatic scenes of armed Koreans patrolling on the ground and rooftops. In spite of these efforts, just under half of the businesses destroyed during the riots were Korean-owned and only a quarter of Korean businesses survived the riots and the immediate aftermath. Hide contents The impact of the riots were profound on the community, changing how Koreans saw their relationship with America, their community and each other. Korean solidarity was increased while attempt to bridge the divide with other communities were undertaken and over time a deep connection between Koreans-Americans and Hispanic Americans was built up. The area was redeveloped, rebuilt and is stronger than ever. The area was redeveloped, rebuilt and is stronger than ever, and although it still suffers from socio-economic problems, it is a vibrant and multicultural centre for Koreans and other minorities alike. OOC This community attempts to emulate Los Angeles’ Koreatown and will largely feature community-based roleplay, centred around many locations and Korean-owned businesses in the Little Seoul area. There are no race/nationality restrictions in place, as the real life equivalent of Little Seoul is a melting pot of many different races and cultures. However, we encourage you to research the groups of people that predominantly exist in the Koreatown LA to ensure you have an accurate understanding of the lifestyles and culture Little Seoul may have. Characters of all ages are welcome. We advise you to PM one of the leaders (@Atiku, @Morning, and @Pascal) before joining this community. Whilst we cannot control who roleplays in the Little Seoul area, if you wish to RP with the community and be affiliated with us as a group you will need to to speak to us to both ensure you can provide a fitting character/roleplay for the area or to provide advice if you need it. We encourage all those who join to send us their character concept so we can provide feedback and ensure it has a reasonable amount of depth to it. With that in mind, we are willing to accept players who may be inexperienced with this type of roleplay, so long as you can provide a good attitude and willingness to learn. Unless you have been approved by one of the three leaders, you must request permission to post screenshots on this thread. Whilst highly unlikely due to the civilian nature of this community, we reserve the right to CK you in the extreme circumstance it may come down to that. CKs will (hopefully) be very rare and will mainly be applied against carelessly designed characters who are poorly/recklessly portrayed, i.e. a generic badass character who terrorises the community in a poorly roleplayed way continuously. We may also choose to apply a CK if your character gets jailed for a considerable (i.e. felony) offence. 8. Short description: A selection of lore-friendly low-medium range cars, motorbikes and vans. Detailed description: Okay so we all know that when cars are added to the server, a lot of the time they're of the higher end. But it would be nice to see more low-medium range cars added. So I've spent the time to look at multiple possibilities that I feel would make nice additions to the server and create more variety for players. This is purely a list for MODS, not base game cars to be added. I know a few will say "no, add base game cars instead of more mods" but for whatever reason, they haven't done that as of yet. SUV and Pickups Vapid Contender (Replacement) - So this mod replaces the current Contender which, if I'm honest is overpriced for what it offers and there are near enough little to no modifications that can be added to it. I have not personally looked at each and every one of these cars in game, due to the time that this has gone up, but I'm more than happy to check them out myself, with other players or the modding team to determine whether they are of good quality.

  9. Short description: Add a function that allows the player to choose wether a certain furniture piece has collisions or not while furnishing. Detailed description: Pretty simple, when managing furniture, in the same menu where you can sharpen rotations and duplicate and all, ad a simple function that toggles the collisions of the furniture on and off. It is pretty known that the seats in most interiors are far too close to sit normally on them, so you either have to leave comically large space between the seatd and table or you have to awkwardly sit sideways or sit on air. With the addition of this function (which is availble in RAGE:MP btw I asked), we can fix this problem easily. There are no cons in this except maybe when somebody exploits the function to have an invisible door/passage to a secret room through a wall which can be punished for if it's not justified or properly RP'd. Commands to add: Just the function under furniture editing. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? This will improve things drastically visually, no more floating sitters, no more sideway sitters, no more ontop of the table sitters either. Additional information: N/A

  16. Short description: I believe on character creation, it should give you a brief template that you have to fill out regarding your character's appearance something /like/ below: Approximate age: Notable features: Accent: Other (Including jewellery, tattoos, smell, unusual articles of clothing): Detailed description: For one, I always begin every encounter in roleplay by examining the other party. It gives you something to react to, creates depth in social interactions and most characters react totally different to somebody based on things like advanced age, foul smelling, overweight, unusual accents etc, so when somebody doesn't have attributes it always adds that added disconnect where you have to resort to /do to discover these things, whereas if it was mandatory RP would flow far more effortlessly. I believe this would generally enhance immersion significantly, as well as adding the nuance of being able to display that expensive engagement ring, watch or whatever that you just bought from a jewellery store. Commands to add: On character creation an attributes box to fill out. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It will add to immersion significantly, give everybody more roleplay socially in the form of reacting to things such as accents, smells, unusual appearances etc. It'll add an extra layer to PD police work as people will be more distinguishable and unique. It'll make Jewellery and fashion items more sought after and thus create more roleplay in that form for different stores and brands of fashion. Additional information: I know people can just do /attributes and fill this out themselves but the overwhelming majority of people don't bother, leading to back and forth in /do to learn more about other characters thus stunting and breaking up the rp with needless OOC confirmations.

  20. Support, but also backing what Syrike & roozles said. Technology has advanced like CRAZY. Apps like Snapchat can broadcast your precise location in your own house to your friends, whether you're on wifi or regular cell tower data. There's high-accuracy GPS tracking now for most modern phones, though that starts getting vague when you're in an area with bad reception. Make it a varying radius depending on the phone.
