  3. Really there isn't a debate to this - It's a loophole to engage in ERP with an underage character which should be blocked.

  5. As for UCLA students, I don't see how that relates to this topic? afaik most UCLA students are 18+ As for the community part, I didn't know we had a demographics test to know how old members are, especially on server that isn't exactly small. Bestiality isn't in Penal code either but remember Rocky? Nobody can effectively police what people do in private of their interior, that is right, but when you have borderline sick stuff like that happening, it's bound to leak eventually (throwback to Rocky, again) and that just brings the very bad reputation to this community and everyone that plays here, hence why you already have people opposing it. If people want to fulfill their sick fantasies and perversions I'm sure there are more appropriate places for such things, and that shouldn't be this server.

  6. Just ban erp, kappa. If it's a minor and an adult, its all besides the point, anyone trying should be taken out asap and is simply a matter of common courtesy. But overall I'm all for this personally. @Centi hit the nail on the head to add to it further.

  9. This thread showcases the life & development of Miguel Velazquez. Miguel Velazquez, a 30 year old of Mexican heritage raised and living within a section of Rancho, an area that is highly reputable for its crime & gang activity. Throughout Miguel's entire childhood and teenage years he was dubbed as an outcast due to his Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the local gang-bangers single him out for petty crime, varying from selling drugs on the corners to hot-wiring cars for scrap - work that resulted in chump change. Raised by his mother, Gabriela Velazquez, his father left the picture before he was born, someone who he refers to as a deadbeat for the lack of courage for tossing his single mother to the curb. His mother had fiercely encouraged him that his so called "friends" were singling him out for their own good, he was blinded. His ignorance caught on. He fell further into the grasp of the streets, and was hooked onto pot; allegedly helping him cope with his condition. Miguel dropped out of school to commit to the hustle on the streets, hoping he'd prove a point to the local bangers. Throughout his time with the local gang-bangers he stuck up multiple residents on the block, causing him to land in jail for prolonged time. Moments after his release, he latched on to a guilt trip. Regret had kicked in, the man struggled to earn a job and ride on. Miguel spent the majority of his time in the local bar, drinking his sorrows out. Only then had he established a relationship with the local motorcyclists in the area, the Vagos MC. Games of pool, cards, biking, women and the drugs. It had all appealed to him. Miguel caught on to the life and fiercely supported their club in hopes to stand among them as a Vago. After securing a job in a local convenience store, Miguel managed to patch his worn out Bobber up. He rode for a prolonged time with the Vagos in Berdoo, demonstrating his undying loyalty and support to the club. From voluntarily manning the bars to carrying merchandise, handing out flyers, etc. It was only a matter of time for Miguel to finally earn his prospect colors. Miguel wasn't the sharpest tool when it came to the stage, slip-ups were a common occurrence. Although his sponsor, Jackal, encouraged the man as an older brother. A mentor that had sought him to carry on and clash. Years later, the Vagos charter declared their rivalry against an MC residing within their area. Constant brawls and shootings took place, a lifestyle of which Miguel wasn't familiar with. Warfare. It was only a matter of time for Miguel to pitch in his decision to go Nomad, and was voted out unanimously. Miguel sought a group of Vagos Nomads in hopes to settle into Los Santos. Boogeyman and Bandit, a nomad and prospect affiliated with the Vagos Nomads were influential figures who helped him settle in. A life of biking, brotherhood and violence. A path that Miguel was well aware of, he felt a sense of belonging with the vagabonds and desired nothing else. Miguel and Scrapper had met up in a bar for several drinks during the night. Prior to the month, Scrapper was beaten severely into the cusp of death by several men. They had walked into the bar, Miguel was well informed on the situation. In turn, a hit was planned out for the week. It was a matter that wasn't handled lightly for the group of Vagos. The few men were spotted out an open bar in the midst of the night, Miguel and Boogeyman seized the opportunity to cruise through and attempt to execute the hit. Bullets went ablaze, automatic fire blasted through the night. Miraculously, the victims managed to flee the scene in critical condition. An off duty woman had tailed after Boogeyman in hopes to take him down with a firing gun. She left Miguel with no choice but to scramble out and leave the woman riddled with bullets. A choice he had made to bail a brother out. Fast-tracking to the next day, chaos had followed. The news blasted across several media articles and television programs. The off duty woman found deceased, the incident was classified as a co-ordinated hit on the off duty police officer. Struck fiercely with panic and paranoia for months, he pounced back and forth - eager for redemption. Although the suspect is yet to be identified, Miguel rides alongside the Vagos with an uneasy soundness of mind.

  10. This keeps coming up and getting nowhere. GOV is actually more active more now than it has been for a long time, it works more as a civil service than a political wasteland. Ultimately, things have happened to begin the process of turning government into a political institution and they've not worked, if anyone has any proposals that might actually work, I suggest them to send them to FM in a message, another general discussion post will do nothing to help.

  11. It's a common misconception that the Gov is inactive. I can't be bothered writing up a wall of text again, but I explained the Government's activity in the past: Most of what you mentioned is already being done, Since hiring a Curator of Culture, the Gov have hosted several IC events, such as Thanksgiving dinners with the Mayor, a Christmas event in Legion Square, and a meet and greet at the GWC Golfing Society. This already exists, it's responsible for the courts, which have actively responded to cases. It would be a massive project. We already had a Gov based energy firm in the past, it required a player with specialist knowledge to setup and a lot of time investment, but ultimately went nowhere. I spoke about it a bit on the link above. This role already exists and is behind all of the Government's financial decisions. Most of these things exist, I think they're just not easily visible to most players. Ultimately, having a good PR person(/s) would help Gov a lot, as while they have a lot of responsibility, they don't have someone broadcasting it. When it comes to Government, a lot of people need to understand that it's a huge investment. It requires time and knowledge to setup right, and while many people would be eager to jump into the role, not everyone would do it well. Elections would especially be iffy, as they'd become OOC popularity contests that would likely end up with someone who isn't up for the job.

  15. The misuse of pedophilia here is troubling. For clarity: This doesn't mean a 21 year old in love with a 17 year old is a pedophile, nor a 17 year old dating a 16 year old. There are many healthy relationships IRL with significant age gaps (some being under the legal age in their respective country) who enjoy their lives, as uncomfortable as the moral implications may be. The lack of distinguishing IC from OOC is also an issue. OOC sexual abuse has and never will be tolerated. People also have a choice; if a player happens to be 15 OOC but RPs an adult in a sexual relationship with another adult, that is their choice. IC should remain IC. If anybody has an issue they are entitled under Rule 9 to refuse the graphic sexual RP at any time. The Rocky incident was mentioned but what people fail to realise is that these encounters were done in private, with adults playing those characters and with mutual permission. If we adopt this attitude we should ban rapists, drug dealers and eventually murderers from interacting with underage characters next.

  16. I'm not sure how any of this is a discussion. It is already a rule. In my opinion if a character is being rped under 18 sexual interactions icly should be cut to a fade to black through /do. It doesn't matter if its a 16 year old and another 16 year old taking part. Because guess what, it's very likely that at least one of those 16 year olds is at least 20+ irl. If someone's concern is character development, a fade to black is more than enough because they can roleplay the "experience" and talk about it and do whatever else they want.

  20. 9) Offensive Roleplay The purpose of this rule is to find a balance between allowing players to be comfortable when playing while still allowing some freedom during roleplay. The roleplay that is restricted under this rule falls under the broad term of "Offensive Roleplay", but it does not mean that any roleplay that offends a player is not allowed. Offensive Roleplay includes the following; sexual roleplay, which includes but is not limited to sex, rape and sexual touching of any kind; torture; dismemberment; other roleplay that may disgust another player, for example a graphic description of an injury. To do any of the roleplay listed above, it must be done with the OOC consent of all players involved prior to the roleplay being started. Offensive roleplay must be conducted away from other players and areas where players are likely to stumble across it. If an admin deems a location too public, it can be considered a breach of the rule. It is the responsibility of the players participating in the offensive roleplay to try to keep it away from players that may be uncomfortable with witnessing it. Players knowingly entering an area where offensive roleplay is occurring are assumed to have consented for the purposes of this rule. An example would be entering a strip club or a location where they know a character is being tortured. If a player is uncomfortable with the roleplay and they are a participant, they may request that it stops at any time. If a player witnesses offensive roleplay and they do not wish to see it, they may remove themselves from the scene. Examples: participating in sexual roleplay at a public swimming pool; torturing a player without making sure they are fine with participating in that kind of roleplay; initiating rape roleplay without receiving clear OOC consent from all players involved. The following types of roleplay are not allowed to happen on the server at all: cannibalism; bestiality; necrophilia; paedophilia. ↑

  24. As an outsider to this sort of RP, I've noticed through screenshots and reports that every now and then that /me's end up containing phrases or descriptions using Slang or words associated with gang culture. I get that you're enjoying your character and you might find it immersive, but doesn't it make it harder for people to work out your actions or lead to issues when people are trying to RP with you? I remember a report a couple of weeks ago which ended up being mistaken identity because when he asked why the person shot him they responded with pretty much "Mandem got gatted blud no ting haha OwO xD" and so they reported them, but it turned out they were just messing around. This is me just being curious I guess. I'm not interested in that side of the server when I do play and this is 'General discussion' so...Why do it? I understand your character talking like that, but why make your actions harder to read when it's just that, explaining an action?
