  1. That's my point! I want some clarification as that shouldn't happen for something as stupid as posting a picture on Facebrowser playing golf, lmao. For something so minor (especially as, I'm sorry, I haven't seen that golf club advertised once) to end up costing someone their character doesn't seem right. I get that in real-life it can happen but that court case definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and I can't support the owner's in that club going forward. I've never seen it used or advertised, no events, nothing. In situations like that, I don't think it's fair that it could cost someone their character's life if they simply can't afford a fine for an honest to God mistake. Guy just wanted to share a nice photo of him at a golf club and ended up CKed for it. That's a massive downfall I can see of the court system - but I'm hoping that OP can clarify the payment process if someone cannot afford a fine so we don't see people CKing over it all the time. It wouldn't be fair. Actually, I've just become made aware that the person has actually left the server. This is a massive failure on the courts behalf and this needs some clarification. This should enhance role-play, which most of the time it does, not force people to quit for posting a picture on Facebrowser especially in that situation where the owner's have done a terrible job owning that property as no one I have talked to knew it was even owned. I would really be interested to know how you plan on dealing with situations like this in the future as we can't lose members of the community because of unfair fines or sanctions placed upon them when there is definitely a factor of OOC to play. I feel for Sten, I really do.

  2. Can you tell us more about the process that happens if a person cannot afford to pay a court ruled fine? As we've seen with the recent Sten De Visser case, it resulted in him CKing his character. I'm unsure if this was due to being unable to afford the fine and finding no other option. That's just my guess! But is there a process in place should someone be fined an amount they simply cannot pay? Whether that's through smaller payments over time etc.? It would be a shame for players to feel the only option is to CK their character for admittedly stupid minor things. Like in the Stan De Visser case, I to would have gone on that golf course and not known it was owned as I've not seen a single advertisement or roleplay event hosted there whilst online. And I do not have a 90k bank account to pay either if I was in his shoes. Can you just clarify the process after a ruling has been made? The court cases have been very entertaining, a really impressive amount of work has clearly gone into it! (Rascals verdict was a joke tho lol)

  3. Just to clear things up, Sten had over $200,000 in cash, an apartment worth around $325,000 and a Paragon which is $400,000 unregistered. He could actually afford it all pretty easily, the player behind the character just did not want to pay it. He could actually pay the cost twice and still keep all his assets. Those are the type of arguments that could have been made if the person hired a lawyer. The outcome of the case went terribly because there wasn't a lawyer defending. The judge has to make a decision based on the facts provided. There wasn't much of a defense so the case ending up being one sided is just how the court system works. For the topic at hand, my thoughts are similar to Westen. There's been an increase in the interest in roleplay around mental health. This is both from players roleplaying mental health issues and from players roleplaying as psychologists and psychiatrists. It would benefit anyone involved with that kind of roleplay if there was clearer laws brought in for first responders, doctors and anyone rolepalying mental health issues.

  4. I don't believe screenshots are an indication of good role-play. It shouldn't be necessary to complement in-game role-play with fancy screenshots. This sort of mentality only helps to remove focus from out of the game and care about OOC presentation. By all means, if you enjoy it do it. However, I do not think a faction, LSPD or otherwise, should be encouraging their members to post screenshots. To go a little more on topic, I haven't had any bad experience with LSPD faction members. It could be circumstantial and I've only role-played with police three or four times. A few things I've noticed that have already been addressed such as American characters using British slang seems to be common. A huge problem from the server I'm from is that LSPD's duty was first and foremost to police the server. I don't know what it's like here as I've only been role-playing for a short time but a good mentality to hammer in on new recruits and faction members is that you're role-playing a character. Yes, we have all heard the same argument but let me elaborate as it's not an issue exclusive to factions with authority. There are issues with avatarism, unwillingness to role-play fear and a playing to win mentality in all role-playing communities. This is why in tabletop games such as D&D you are forced to pick stats and flaws. You can't trust most people to not want to win. I argue that a lot of good role-play can come from losing. If LSPD is to improve, we should as a community, encourage everyone to quit these bad habits. I don't know how exactly but I believe the best way to do this is through factions. Helping out good factions with good leadership that try to teach their members these things is a great step. It's a hard thing to gauge however. Who dictates what a good faction is? As a poor example of what I believe is playing to win was when two players parked up next to me and attempted to rob me. As they exited their vehicle my character ran off. If I was one of these players I would have given up right there, it's not worth the trouble for potentially a small sum of money. However, one of them chased my character on foot which is fine. The other got back in the car and attempted to ram my character twice. In the process, he crashed his car into a wall more than once. My character managed to find a ladder and climbed up. One of them followed me up and I kicked them down. It was a good fall where you'd probably break a leg or I dare say die. Injuries were not role-played. Vehicle damage, to my knowledge, was not role-played. Can you imagine if this played out in real life? These characters, who I assume are struggling with money, damaged their car which is a big inconvenience and nearly killed someone. One of them potentially broke a leg or something worse. I'm not saying people don't kill each other for even smaller things but I hope you get my point. I don't want to forbid people from doing these things even though I find them silly. But if you're going to do something so silly, role-play the consequences.

  5. because the only thing that happens is what happens in the server, everytime people are offline their characters dont exist and there's no consistent "ic" world right? :') this is dumb LOL. the only rules they need on menyoo is doing shit with stuff you can't get/don't have. A making up a little ic thing that doesn't happen RPly but just meant for fluff or some goofy post on FB is literally harmless. You're complaining about quite literally nothing lol.

  7. On 11/08/2019, RiA Organisation changed name into R-MOTORSPORT. Name change was caused by a reform our organisation has been through, and with the name change, we made some general changes. One of them is that people who want to join R-MOTORSPORT won't need to go through academy, there will be application for joining our Junior team, and from starting from there - they will get their chances to improve. Our goals and the main idea stays the same, and more about changes and what's new will be published through time. Our organisation awaist for an response from LSPD Traffic Unit, so our management can continue with the discussion about future events. We hope that we will start San Andreas Rally Championship and San Andreas Hillclimb Championship soon. We promise you many good things by our organisation, and guarantee professionalism. 9. We need a script for the public payphones to call people. So that way, we can stay anonymous. This would also provide better roleplay for civilians and criminals on their side. There's a lot more in the map and they should be all working scriptwise.

  10. Thanks for the response! That's reassuring to know as someone that tries to play a character living in the breadline. I'm sure there's a lot more like me that feel better with clarification. You guys have put the effort in and it shows, kudos to your efforts, it's entertaining and brings a super fun aspect to the community for sure!

  11. If I could give you a thumbs up on here, I would. Alas, I have run out of thumbs up for the day ? so here ???? I'm glad that you have opened the floor for this area, as it's something that is of interest to me. As of now, I concur with a question posed by others already. I would love to know if there will be more clarification for the field of general medical & mental health, i.e. people wanting to RP doctors, psychologists and even psychiatrists. Someone who wants to play a doctor or psychiatrist could obviously give out medicine prescriptions and such, opening up more avenues for people to RP getting treated, even abusing the medicine, etc. Psychologists can obviously provide mental health counseling/therapy and even coordinate with available psychiatrists and doctors for further treatment. There is a whole world of possibilities out there. There hasn't been really anything "official" for this field from the state/government level. There just doesn't seem to be much legislation/clarification on how one can go about operating within the legal bounds of San Andreas. I feel there should be more IC steps to take a route (state licensing requirements, exams, medical boards etc.) and become officially recognized by the state/city. Obviously I feel it has to start at the state level to lay out laws/rules for people to pursue these professions. Any plans to explore this area further from a legal standpoint to bring this avenue of RP to GTAW?

  13. Emote fighting can easily be fixed by one simple tool that we already have. The lovely /roll feature. Ask OOCly how the opposing player would like to roll, either out of 100, 10 or a classic 20. And then work out a system of successive emotes. Maybe three successful punches and you’re out like Christmas lights. That’s how I usually do it, works pretty well, and the roll feature is honestly underutilized as a roleplay tool. It’s not only great for emote fighting but for making mistakes when doing things. Just a thought however.

  14. I have personally always seen that as another means to put your illegal faction on the map, exactly because they are much smaller, and unless you're roleplaying on a specific street/in a certain neighborhood you might not even realize that the organization is even operating there. Therefore it's a way to stand out from the crowd of similarly sized groups. Nonetheless, it's not for everyone and the reasons mentioned above do not apply for most legal factions since those are in the spotlight pretty much by default. I personally never liked putting too much about my characters on the forums, as it then takes away from actually meeting and learning about that character. There are different approaches to forum screenshots and I would argue that not sharing the full development of your character on forums can be a conscious choice and there's nothing wrong with it.

  16. I see no issues with just taking photos of your own character or friends, as long as you just stick to the GTAW assets obtainable in the server. Easy. ?

  23. Short Description: Most RP servers far and wide have flavor text/description commands that are put in place for players to detail in brief what their character looks like, sounds, etc. Criminal RPs take advantage of this by choosing to not describe their characters. Detailed Description: I know personally speaking to people who have been long-time community members, to admins have expressed their disapproval over players not having descriptions. It's not entirely a needed component to RP but it allows your character to be an individual to others. Non-Criminal RPers don't see much of an issue to this, sometimes they have joke descriptions. But having a description doesn't necessitate that you are a criminal. However criminal RPers can take advantage of this easily. Dressing up in all black or an extremely generic colored outfit and masking up without a description can very easily allow you to commit crimes and get away with them. I find this as slight vergence into powergaming and well just bad RP in general. Not everyone is going to look, sound, and act all the same. People have been easily captured IRL due them being a specific height, they have a limp when they run, or some other crucial feature. Most criminal players I've seen on the server(often are made up of groups of friends who going to be actively using discord or similar) roll around with no descriptions. How will this improve the server: I fully believe that if there is an enforced description policy for all players to come up with a basic description, it could promote healthier RP. Criminal players would now have to effectively RP smarter to avoid getting caught. As it stands my experience and witnessing groups of not-descript people robbing/murdering are often people RP poorly and are mainly here to cause some grief. As well it will help newer RPers or people to the server to make their character stand out more.

  25. Does this server have Rockstar Editor Recording thing? So I can just record and then edit the recording in my rockstar editor later? If so then what's the hotkey? I know this has been asked before since I saw the post from 2018. But, in case it's fixed and apparently this server does have that feature and I'm just not aware, I want to know. Thanks a lot!

  27. True and agreed, but we still can't just ignore inactive businesses like that as well. Sidetracked a bit, you mentioned about "protest", it'd be great if we got like Election or something, no need to be scripted, just something to argue about In-character. scratch that, I forgot there's literally GOV in this server, sorry I was drunk.

  28. Feature Showcase - Los Santos County Sheriff & Jail Showcase Overview The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department faction, in conjunction with the DoJ, LSPD, Faction Management Team & Mapper Team are proud to announce a rejuvenation of the server's Criminal Justice dynamic with both criminals & Law Enforcement alike. The upcoming update brings forth a host of new changes regarding the Judicial System & Law Enforcement process. Criminal roleplayers within the server will now face physical penalties for their actions, as well as pre-trial detention depending on particular circumstances. Law Enforcement Officers will now have to in-process arrestees at the newly-mapped Los Santos County Jail, operated by the Sheriff's Department. Commands /releaseme - Exit the jail permanently after your time is up /jailtime - Check how long remains before you can be free'd /jrequest - Request a deputy if any is available, offline guards will be notified on Discord through an IC notification channel /cellinfo - Prints information about the cell /jevent - Report an event to the guards, for example : /jevent You would notice a body left in a blood pool in front of cell A001. Guards will receive the event on Discord to notify them OOCly about the event that they would discover ingame. /onduty - Check how many guards are online /jlockdown - Open / close all doors of the current interior you're inside (guards only) /assigncell - Change the cell of an inmate (guards only) /release - Releases an inmate (guards only) /checktime - Check how long an inmate is jailed for (guards only) /showwristband - Show your wristband information to another player /setjailstatus - Set a special status written on the prisoner's wristband (guards only) Jail time will decrease 3x faster if you actively roleplay (This current value is temporary and might be modified in the future) How Arrest Works Former System: Arrest > Temporary Detention at Police Headquarters > Potential Court Case or Release New System: Investigation > Warrant > Arrest(starts with arrest if 'on-view') > Booking at County Jail > Detention > Bond Hearing > Due Process > Release or Sentencing/Conviction Expected features of the jail The Los Santos County Jail will provide an interesting roleplay dynamic for both Government & Criminal Roleplay. The circumstances of the jail allow for criminal gangs to manifest within the incarceration system, as sentenced inmates will be assigned to the jail to interact with pre-trial detainees. Features in development include: Bond System - allowing inmates to place surety/collateral to bonding companies in exchange for release from the county jail, on grounds they may loose assets or finances if they do not show up for court. Commissary / 'Books' - this serves as a means of both sustenance and institutional currency for inmates within the county jail. [In development] Weapon features - inmates are able to fashion weapons from items they find or create, to include shanks. Booking - inmates will have their arrest record & incarceration status on-file with server Law Enforcement entities. Conviction / Sentencing - inmates facing sentences may be assigned to the county jail for long durations of time. 'Prison Gangs' - long term inmates may be able to create gangs 'within the walls'. Phone System - inmates will be able to place calls from the jail. [In development] Other features to come. Full album : https://imgur.com/a/zSH60EK Additional Information Judicial Faction Los Santos County Sheriff's Department Special thanks to the Mapping Team for the hours and hours of hard work that they have dedicated to this. Not only in building, but research, discussion and reworking when it became apparent mid-mapping that things were not going to work as the floor plans dictated. As a server we are lucky to have people who will selflessly give up their own time to provide interesting and immersive features, from the Mapping Team right up to the administration team, past and present, who have worked to make this project what it is. Looking forward to our next grouping of projects, and working to manage such an amazing group of people.

  29. This argument has been brought up a thousand times, been beaten like a dead horse a thousand times, and repeated. Your complaint about it stems from a video that a friend made, with his character driving up to work, or what you call a “party” at the construction site. Most of the NPCs there were in uniform, eating, on their break, on a HUGE skyscraper construction site that would realistically be busy and populated just like that. It’s not powergaming to make the city seem alive, like it should be. Now, it’s a different problem when you’re spawning in some ridiculous car, weapons, etc for pictures when you don’t own it IC or have any means to borrow it. THEN it could be considered powergaming.
