  1. In a prior article release, FaceBrowser’s administration and community were discussed by multiple women, whom shared their opinion on the harassment received from various users and the site’s lack of administration. To offer an unbiased opinion, I have asked men about their perspective and opinions on the site’s matter, and harassment that they have received. Similarly doing so by questioning individuals that were previously accused, and ‘controversial figures’ about their association with FaceBrower’s system. This article’s primary focus is on alternative views, whilst remaining similar to the article classified as ‘Behind FaceBrowser’s Harassment: A Female’s Perspective,’ which addressed the site’s utilisation and the defamation that occurs on the site. With likeness to the previous article posted, four men’s perspectives are going to be investigated, to contrast against the prior article’s participants. The participants include Keinan Walker, Dean Bell, Keith and lastly, Rot Garden. The site was deemed as being ‘merciless, lacking administration’ and other labels in the earlier article; however, in this investigation, we seek out opinions to counteract the bias and to inquire whether FaceBrowser's services need to adapt to the users or the users need to adapt to the platform. Photo Credit: Kaylee Keeton Firstly, we identify Keinan Walker’s opinions and perspective against the allegations in the prior post, stating the harassment received on his part and creating an equalised story between the two articles. Posting regulated opinionated posts, Keinan’s a spoke-person for his views, and has a fighting-spirit and a misunderstood friendliness. As of right now, Keinan has a part-time job, and vocalises his perspective on the alleged harassment he has said to have given to multiple women across the site. Q: Firstly, in our prior article, there were allegations that you harassed the women who participated in the article, do you believe for this to be true? How would you describe the situation from your perspective? A: ‘It's so easy to play victim and get all the sympathy and attention. But there's always two sides of a coin. You simply can't judge a situation and come to a conclusion before you've heard and seen both sides of the story. Nobody wants to 'harass' people for the fun of it, it's not like I wake up and suddenly go "lemme harass a bitch today", no, that's not how it happens. From what I've seen during my few months on Facebrowser, nobody gets harassed unless they're straight up asking for it.’ Keinan states, continuing his paragraph shortly after. He adds, ‘In my case, which I may add is a case being used by a bunch of women to victimize themselves and get people like me banned, it all started with a woman named Sara. I'll be short and straightforward. Sara and I met, became friends quickly due to her extremely friendly nature, things escalate, she admits she has a 'crush' on me, but I ask for time because I know she'd been sleeping with multiple guys. Sara one day breaks down and cries after being abandoned by her friends, I help her out, talk her out of it, lift her up and get her going. She promises to change and find better friends, but I see her go back to the same old people and fuck herself up. She fucked the same guys who'd been using her, got played, called all men pigs and turned lesbian. I felt like she was being stupid. This pushed me away from her. We'd been barely talking ever since.’ ‘One day I post a meme about the LGBT. We ALL know memes are never meant to be taken seriously. Sara takes it personally, attacks me in the comments, following which I get annoyed and shit kicks off. Sara thought it'd be funny to capture slick, thoroughly cut-out screenshots of some of the messages I had sent her back when I tried to be nice to her so I could get her out of that dark place she was in, and posted them all over the social media site for everyone to see. How FUCKED up is that? You help someone who's been acting depressed, only for them to screenshot your messages and show them to the public to laugh at a month later? This fucked me up and I started exposing all of Sara's messages that she'd sent to me, which eventually shut her up. If anything, I should be the one bitching about being harassed because the shit she started with me was so uncalled for.’ ‘When you shit on someone who's literally saved your fucking life, you can't expect them to be quiet. People didn't find Isabella's activities cool, they started sending me material that I could use to 'expose' Isabella. I received messages of her agreeing to do questionable things for likes, as well as her nudes. Of course, I warned her I'd have to take the extreme step if she doesn't stay out of mine and Sara's dumb fight, but she once again asks me to fuck off, following which I release all her personal things as a proper response. I feel like what I did was justified, and it was all started by the same women who claim to be 'harassed'.’ ‘They both tried to get more women involved in the argument which was originally meant to be between just me and Sara and eventually die out. A few more women joined, tried having a go at me every opportunity they get, but I wouldn't back off. If I hadn't 'exposed' them, they would've kept going and going. My response was necessary, I had no option but to defend myself that way. So, there you go. Don't believe everything you hear on the internet without looking at both sides of the story. My response ended the situation, forcing them to delete whatever they'd posted about me, following which I deleted everything I posted about them. Now that I've narrated the whole thing, I actually find it so funny when they complain about being depressed and harassed... like they had every chance not to bring it upon themselves, it's like you play with fire then cry when it burns you, simply put.’ Keinan’s sentence emphasises on the importance of furthering questioning, and seeking the opinions of both perspectives, and how men are often targeted without receiving similar emotional support that women receive. Q: Have you been harassed on FaceBrowser’s services? And if so, has FaceBrowser’s support been limited? A: ‘I would say I've been harassed by the two ladies I just spoke about earlier. I mean you give them a helping hand, be there for them and shit, they accept the help, rise up, only to make a fucking mockery out of it. I've never done anything to deserve harassment, which is why I've never (the above case being an exception) been genuinely harassed by anybody on the site, or in real life. Even if I were harassed, I'd respond back with equal or more harassment, but that's just me. FaceBrowser's doing it right. They shouldn't get involved in people's personal feuds. The only thing they should be handling is illegal content. Apart from that, you just reap what you sow. Can’t handle harassment? Don't give people a reason to harass you.’ Q: How would you describe FaceBrowser’s services and community? Should FaceBrowser aim to improve these qualities? A: ‘The site, as well as the community are both completely normal, just like any social media site should be. Just because a few people want to make it look like the whole thing revolves around them doesn't mean it actually does. Admins of a social media site are not meant to involve themselves in personal feuds between site users, because they're nobody to judge and generally have better, more important things to do. Facebrowser is perfect as it is.’ Q: How would you describe your online persona, and do you have any final words to be included into the article? A: ‘I personally prefer to keep my circle small. If I have say, three or four friends in my circle that's pretty much all I need. I don't care about the rest. I work part-time and do spend a bit of my spare time on Facebrowser, where I post my thoughts, opinions and a meme or two occasionally. As I've mentioned before, memes are memes and if it offends you, then you should probably take a break from social media, or just avoid/block me if that sounds like a better option. If you're going to start genuinely fighting me or arguing with me over a fucking joke, you're just asking for more. I'm not going to change myself because Karen who is supposedly 'depressed' and 'harassed' lacks basic sense of humour. I've never actually made enemies on the site, nor do I ever plan to. Whatever I post, I do it in good will, to either state my opinions or to just make people laugh, and never to make enemies and find 'harassment opportunities'. In the end, I'll just remind y'all again that nobody's going to harass you until you force them to. Don't bring it upon yourself if it's something you can't handle. Oh, and stop seeking attention with that self-diagnosed 'depression', focus on the positive things in life. You're not depressed, you're just upset. Accept the fact that the world doesn't revolve around you, embrace it. Stop victimising yourself to be at the centre of everything. Trust me you'll love your life a lot more.’ Photo Credit: Dean Bell Secondly, Dean Bell’s viewpoint is explored with the harassment he has received for being apart of the LGBT-community, emphasising on the potential chastising that can occur against individuals that associate themselves with said community. Known as an activist, Dean Bell’s statuses are often those of social justice, and humour. Previously associated with ‘Baby, Bell & Jameson, P.C.’ Bell’s is now partaking in cases that revolve around his own law-firm, known as ‘Bell Law.’ Q: Have you been harassed on FaceBrowser’s services and if so, how did the harassment occur? A: ‘I have been harassed on Facebrowser, I posted on a picture of an individual being beaten up by a bunch of hoodlums, for over a week they have tried to get my location and threaten me, leave me alone!’ Q: Earlier in our discussion, you mentioned that you were targeted for your sexuality. Has FaceBrowser provided support to you throughout the harassment? A: ‘I did not report the harassment, the individual called me a “faggot”, due to my prior relations with Derek Freelander. I am sure if I did put in a report, they would help me, however.’ Q: How do you view FaceBrowser’s community and services? A: ‘I don’t know where all of the Nazis came from, but all and all… I am sick of the people who fight over Facebrowser… grow up kids! Just be Dean Bell, cool, awesome and respectable.’ Q: How do you think FaceBrowser could improve their services? A: ‘I think FaceBrowser is as good as it is going to get, I like it a lot!’ Q: How would you describe your online persona, and do you have any final words to be included into the article? A: ‘I would consider myself an intellectual revered by all lower IQ males, I am basically somebody that every man in Los Santos wants to be.’ This article-writer has to admit that Dean's confidence and perspective is interesting, to say the least! Photo Credit: Keith With a self-described ‘troll’ish and laid back’ personality, Keith’s good-humoured personality is often seen around the in Dazed Depot's store working as an affiliate, selling the newfound company’s well-reviewed and legalised products as a Sales Associate. Furthermore, Keith’s regularly posted modelling-based photographs can be seen across his FaceBrowser, and other social media platforms. Q: Have you experienced harassment on FaceBrowser’s services? Have you perceived harassment on FaceBrowser’s services and if so, why do you believe the reason it is that it occurred? A: ‘I've never experienced harassment and probably never will. A lot of harassment has happened on this website and it's mainly towards females, for some reason. There's no actual 'main' reason as to why that happens, in my opinion. People are just be jealous or hate the person because of what they've done to each other.’ Q: How do you view FaceBrowser’s community and administration? A: ‘FaceBrowser's administration? Who? Never seen any administrative work being done and I probably never will. This site's administration has been non-existent since the early days of the website, they've honestly done nothing. The community's a rollercoaster really, it's mostly accepting and friendly if you don't act like a total idiot. There are a few bad people out of all the good ones, though they can be easily avoided after you block them on the website.’ Q: How do you perceive FaceBrowser’s actions against ‘hate-posts’? How do you believe that FaceBrowser could improve its services? A: ‘More administration, really. While people have a freedom of speech, they should be mindful of others. Racism and anti-Semitism of any kind should be deleted, it only breeds hate between the parties involved in certain conflicts.’ Q: How would you describe your online persona, and do you have any final words to be included into the article? A: ‘I would definitely consider my persona as being more troll'ish and laid back, I like to have fun on the internet. I like to think that people do not take me seriously on the internet, I at least hope they do not.’ Photo Credit: Rot Garden Lastly, an affiliate to Sevencz is interviewed, known as their alias ‘Rot Garden.’ Rot Garden’s persona is fiery, entertaining, and welcoming. Although subtle with his answers, Rot Garden’s answers specify on FaceBrowser’s community being welcoming, and humorous to others across the site’s platform. Additionally, Rot Garden subtly answers the rumours associated with his character, and is the last participant included in the article. Q: Have you personally experienced harassment on FaceBrowser’s services? If so, how did it occur and did FaceBrowser’s services compensate against the targeted posts? A: ‘Yes, I'm actually being harassed by a band of rogue feminist who are either trying to fuck me, or fuck my friends.. Sevencz.’ Q: How do you perceive FaceBrowser’s community and have you witnessed indirect and or direct harassment that could have been avoided? A: ‘FaceBrowser's community is honestly hilarious as fuck and the best people I've ever encountered in my life. I love you guys.’ Q: How do you believe that FaceBrowser could improve their services? A: ‘FaceBrowser’s service is great, just stop verifying these people that don't do a damn thing.’ Q: How do you feel about FaceBrowser’s associated pages spreading rumours about you? Whether that may be falsified or truthful. A: ‘A lot of it was true, that is all.’ Q: How would you describe your online persona, and do you have any final words to be included into the article? A: ‘I am Rot Garden, the Sevencz gang-gang leader in training. Final words? When life has you down remember truck nuts, let them drag, let them spark. Follow me on FaceBrowser, Rot Garden.’ In contrast to the female’s perspective and initial response to FaceBrowser’s platform – the men associated in the article expressed a more so positive opinion to FaceBrowser’s services, despite some being harassed personally. The secondary article varies with the prior article, explaining a male’s perspective and detailing on four male perspectives on FaceBrowser’s platform and the harassment they have received, or lack of harassment received on the website. To the viewer reading, who’s opinion do you align with more? The women’s perspective or the male’s perspective? What are your personalised beliefs on FaceBrowser’s services and or administration? And lastly, do you the reader, believe that the individuals being harassed are justified in being harassed? - EZRA

  2. MODERN (UPDATED) NOTE as per 2020: This guide is rather outdated as many circumstances have changed in real life in the CDCR prison system, and was a forewarning I do refer broadly to the general conditions of the gang-based political nature inside Californian prisons. These prisons are dominated by racial politics, so in this guide "whites," "blacks," and beyond are used to describe racial groupings. Keep in mind this is of course a very general guide, but this is quite literally how these gangs are structured in real life. I also moved the RP warning and rewrote some of it to better describe IFM's stance on these kinds of groups. Please note: I get fucking paranoid about registering to sketchy forums to find some of this info so you don't have to!! FOREWARNING: Before anything else, understand one thing - we are portraying white gangmembers, some of which are white supremacists. White gangs in California inherently have a racial aspect due to the nature of historical prison segregation. Before you approach this brand of roleplay, I HIGHLY recommend you leave any actual real life biases at the door, otherwise you will mix IC and OOC and not create a realistic character. Just as an actor portrays a character in a film, we are portraying a character in the context of a videogame. If this sort of thing is uncomfortable, you obviously can entirely avoid this brand of roleplay, but we are trying to mimic a criminal underworld which exists in the penal system of the United States and in the streets of California. "Peckerwood" gangs and skinhead gangs inherently have a very dangerous racial element to them due to the historical context of the locations they spawned in, and on a psychological basis, they use this racial element as a recruitment tool. This means that these characters can be racist and hold extremist fringe views. IF YOU HOLD THESE VIEWS IN REAL LIFE, DO NOT USE THIS AS A PLATFORM TO LIVE OUT YOUR POWER FANTASY. Not only is it inaccurate, you're probably mentally unhealthy, and mixing IC and OOC. There's little point to me listing the numerous reasons that Neo-Nazism or far-right ideologies are bad, if you're a believer in one of those ideologies then you shouldn't be present at this diverse community in the first place. At the end of the day, this is a videogame and a hobby - while the nuances of white gangs is exceedingly interesting due to their use of insane outdated racial ideology as a recruitment tool, it is NOT something that should be praised, and you can easily compare these messages to the same sort of recruitment strategies used by groups like ISIS. Far-right terrorism is described by the FBI as one of the most significant domestic terror threats in the United States for GOOD reason. Just like you would portray a ruthless orc in a game of DND, a peckerwood gang member is a VILLAIN. Anyone high-up in this line of roleplay are here to play a game. We don’t condone racism. Emphatically, Neo-Nazism is wrong, it is a detestable ideology and there is no place for it in the modern era, and white supremacism is not the focus of this roleplay. AND FINALLY, DON'T BE THAT IDIOT REPLYING "KEEP IT WHITE" or "THAT'S WHITE" TO A FACTION THREAD!!! You're literally spouting racist nonsense on an OOC basis because of characters interacting. You're mixing IC and OOC. San Andreas, based off of California, is on an in-character basis home to one of the most diverse communities in the United States. While basing our community's efforts on portraying Los Santos as Los Angeles, there's many open opportunities for gang roleplay. However, one part about all California gangs one person should understand is that many of these gangs are part of a large hierarchy that has tentacles stretching down from the highest security prisons in the state. Organizations like the Aryan Brotherhood, Nuestra Familia, Mexican Mafia, and Black Guerrilla Family all have varying degrees of control over street gangs within the state of California. These structures are insidious and organized. Therefore, it is sensible to represent this on an IC basis in our server. This guide is dedicated specifically to white gangsters, so we'll only touch on that branch. WHITE GANGMEMBERS IN CALIFORNIA White gang-members throughout California can be classified into two branches - peckerwoods and skinheads. Often times there's no distinction, but many white gang-members are not white power skinheads, and many white power skinheads would consider being called a "peckerwood" an insult. Peckerwood is an archaic slur from the South for white-trash poor whites. It has survived to the modern day in referring to any unaffiliated prisoner within some penal systems in the USA, and outlaw biker organizations also use it. Here's a great writeup from Wikipedia about white gangs within California: As written, there is a clear hierarchical structure within the Californian system. There are independent, unaffiliated "peckerwood" gangs which do their own thing, and then there's specific groups attached to a statewide hierarchy. Aryan Brotherhood | Nazi Low Riders PENI | Affiliate Peckerwood Gangs (not all) Who's at the top of this hierarchy? The Aryan Brotherhood, a prison gang dominant inside of California's Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I'm not going to go into much detail about who or what they are, but it is roughly equivalent to the Mexican Mafia or Nuestra Familia in terms of structural power. Aryan Brotherhood members are inducted after a long-term prison sentence. Generally, their members are one of two things or a combination of the two things - hyperintelligence and ruthlessness. You can be very intelligent and make it to the top by ordering other people to do your dirty work and outsmarting competitors, or you can just kill your competitors. Or you can do both. That's how people make their bones and get into the Aryan Brotherhood. They run everything in prison, and therefore most white gangs or motorcycle clubs pay some form of taxes. Ironically, one can't really consider the Aryan Brotherhood to be a skinhead gang. One caveat - not all peckerwood gangs abide to the Aryan Brotherhood. Some peckerwoods hate skinheads as well. Some peckerwoods are more closely aligned with Northern Mexicans and ally with them. A well known Louis Theroux documentary has a white Norteno part of the Northern Structure. Even in the Nazi Low Riders, there was a potential for a war with the AB and a faction of the NLR still dislikes the Aryan Brotherhood. This guide won't cover these special cases. WHITE GANGMEMBERS - RACISM and MISCONCEPTIONS Peckerwoods do not strictly follow any ideology and can be as insular or composed as they choose to be. Peckerwood gangs exist with black membership, some peckerwoods align themselves with many races. The only place race matters within the context of peckerwood gangs are self-avowed skinhead groups and prison. White gangs are incredibly sophisticated but also have ample room for meth-smoking idiots who have had their brains destroyed by years of drug use. You could be a ruthless robber, a drug pusher, or a white-collar criminal with card skimmers. There's lots of open opportunities. And one key thing that separates white gangs from other gangs is their lack of territory. They are very mobile. We'll touch on skinhead gangs and their racism. Real life skinheads are a flurry of ideologies. The main focus of this guide, however, is criminal skinheads. Criminal skinheads are a distinct group separate from the more commonly associated political ideologues, the legitimate neo-National Socialists/fascists. Political skinheads are not gang-members and are motivated by racial hatred. They are the domestic terrorist types, the guys who post on Stormfront, members of the KKK or NSM. They aren't into crime or drug dealing. If you're looking to roleplay a political skinhead, white gangs are a horrible and inaccurate place to do it, and by extension it's against server rules. If your intent is to roleplay a meth-head criminal gang-member, white gangs are a cool place to develop a character. Criminal skinheads have an attachment of hate, but most criminal skinhead gangs use race as a tool for recruitment or motivation. The context of white gangs within places like CA should be looked at within history - after the desegregation of prisons in CA, gangs of men coalesced into large racial groups, which in turn developed into prison gangs, which in turn brought street gangs up after many members left to the outside. Skinhead gangs established themselves in mainly heterogenous "transitional" areas. You can't find skinheads in Compton or Inglewood. You can find them in areas with a mixed demographic. The reason for this is simple - skinhead gangs, and many peckerwood gangs, recruit "latchkey" kids who are neglected by their parents or groom them for membership in the gang through parties and personal relationships. Gang recruiters are predatory and seek mainly the most vulnerable. Criminal skinheads are not inherently racist by themselves - although they use racist symbols, many members of skinhead gangs are don't necessarily care much about ideology. Keep in mind, it's California - incredibly racially diverse, regardless of the fact that there's a large white demographic in some places. The truly ideological skinheads that are part of skinhead gangs have been documented to connect with groups like the KKK, but this is a tiny minority and really only exists within a vacuum. Racism does exist within skinhead gangs for certain, but that racism is not fostered among the "latchkey" recruits until prison. Most skinheads don't care about racism outside of prison - the main drive for them is money. Gangster skinheads have been documented to have Latina girlfriends, black "business" associates, and beyond. Money is the ultimate motivator. If you're not making much money as a low-level peckerwood dealer in a small gang of young dudes, you might be enticed while in county jail to do work for a skinhead gang. If you do work, you advance up the ladder and receive more money. As you go deeper, you develop a potential addiction to drugs. As you develop addictions to drugs, you do more crime to fuel your addiction. The crimes you're used to doing don't fetch enough money, so you do more work - the work becomes violent, things like robberies and home invasions. Soon enough you're in prison. There, the ideology is fostered - you are cordoned off into your own race by the rules of higher-ups, and you're with people from your county and locality. You make connections. When you're back out, you're doing drugs again - but the connections come in handy. The connections ask you to kill people, injure them. At that point, you're invited in. And things continue to sink. You will most likely end up dead or in prison for life, or, rarely, make enough money and have enough respect that you can escape the lifestyle through permissions of your higher-ups, albeit knowing they can call upon you at any time. Gangs are blood-in, blood-out, but people do retire. Gang life is not glamorous. PRISON A person who has been in county jail will go through their court case and ultimately be found innocent or guilty. Most of the time, you will be guilty - we don't have the luxury of portraying a county jail, so assume that your character has spent several months behind bars in county jail and received a basic primer about how San Andreas prisons work. Prison in California, and by extension San Andreas, is divided by race. As mentioned previously, desegregation led to self segregation. Within the prison system, the hierarchy is most clear. It's where the racial politics are at their height. It's where racist ideologies are fostered. But money is still the same goal. Selling drugs in prison brings a massive profit, but you can't sell drugs without consent. And as a white prisoner, you must obey the rules set by shotcallers - members of the Nazi Low Riders and PENI. Gang modules separate individuals based on membership, and membership is ultimately race-based, but most prisons are so overcrowded that many races are together in one pod. When you first arrive to prison, you are separated based on risk and segregated based on sentence - levels advancing on a numerical basis separate inmates throughout the system. Level 1 and 2 yards are dorms due to overcrowding, and this is where low-level offenders or gang-member affiliates end up here. Level 3 yards are where intermediate offenders are placed with a cellmate in a cell. This is where inducted gang-members might end up on basic offenses or felonies. Level 4 is the strict "mainline" for murderers and heavy hitters. Prison politics are most clear here. Outside of this, "non-programming" yards exist for people who want to avoid gangs, of which you may consider Protective Custody such a case - that's where former COs, police officers, snitches, and sex offenders go. Gang dropouts also go there. PC also has gangs of its own. Then there's the SHU and ADSEG - the former is for permanent segregations, and that is no longer based on gang membership. Adseg is based on disciplinary actions. If you commit a violation of prison rules, you're sent to adseg after a rudimentary trial with the COs. Shotcallers receive people coming from reception who have been placed within one of those levels based on their risk. They receive them by demanding their "paperwork" - a 128G is a form given to all inmates after they've been cleared from reception. The form, through the numerical classification system, indicates if the inmate is a sex offender or informant. All new arrivals must demonstrate they're neither of these by showing their form to the relevant keyholder for their county. At this point, they're given a rundown of the rules - everything is divided on race. The basics are this: Whites and Southern Mexicans are allies, their enemies are North Mexicans and Blacks. Neutrality is generally held with people in "other" races. You cannot affiliate, associate, or hang out with people who are from the "enemy" section, or even the neutral section. You must program with the whites. You cannot disobey orders given by your county car. Everything is political and must go through a shotcaller or keyholder. You need a greenlight prior to attacking someone, going after a debt, or sorting out racial issues. More often than not, politics is peaceful before becoming a war. Wars are fought with shanks and fists. But negotiations between racial representatives is almost always attempted first. Juveniles are inherently separated within their own facilities. PENI has been documented to run mainline prison yards in level 2, 3, and 4 facilities. Up until recently, this was always the case due to the fact that if you were validated as an NLR or AB member, you were in segregation. Due to a court case which judged segregation based on gang affiliation to be unconstitutional in California, Nazi Low Riders are now running a select few level 4 yards, although the majority are being put on isolated “special” yards. Even some AB members have returned to the mainline as a result, but the majority are still segregated due to crimes committed in prison. ROLEPLAYING A WHITE GANGMEMBER ACCURATELY Everything that you should know contextually has been laid out to some degree already. If it applies to California, it also applies, to some degree, to this brand of roleplay. Obviously we can't portray everything accurately. But we should aim to portray most of it. If you're aiming to join a white gang, your best bet is to roleplay a local teenager or other white peckerwood. Locality is a key part of prison politics - almost all internal prison politics are based on an individual's home county. When you enter prison, you are subjugated to a "county car" which is a large body of people from your neighborhood and area. If you want to join Vespucci Skinheads, for instance, you shouldn't roleplay a guy from Paleto Bay. You'd be a Paleto Bay peckerwood, and you would associate with people from around there. Be warned - if you approach a gang and roleplay someone from another location other than their own personal location with a clear intent to join, you will probably be taken advantage of. In prison, you should try to roleplay being from somewhere with an active gang population so you're able to clique up in the county car, otherwise you'll be the sole Blaine County guy there. Your character shouldn't be from somewhere outside of San Andreas unless they moved as a child. You also wouldn't be sent to a San Andreas prison unless you were charged in the State of San Andreas. Some federal prisons turn felons over to state systems to serve the rest of their sentence if they have state charges, but you should avoid roleplaying this due to the complicated nature of federal prison, and your character would likely be in segregation. Female membership in gangs is nonexistent, as they cannot be inducted, but they can be given power based on their significant other's status within the gang. Female gangmembers often are the conduits for drug smuggling, money transfers, and other assorted crimes. Powerful female associates do exist, but their power comes solely from someone they're with. Drug use is ubiquitous in white gangs. If you're not using a drug, you're supplying it or rehabbing off of it - drugs are used prior to hits, attacks, robberies, and all assortments of things. Some stories have shown that many gangmembers are completely trashed on drugs outside of prison and very intelligent and squared away inside of prison. Meth is the drug of choice for whites. I highly recommend you roleplay a young latchkey kid if your intent is to join on the outside, no younger than 15. Don't roleplay being older than the age of 40 unless your character has miles of development. If you're a random 40 year old trying to join a white gang, you should've already been in one or your character is a huge fuck-up and nobody will associate with you. As I said, people in this life have three routes officially, with a "special" one for dropouts. You can die, end up in prison for life, or VERY rarely retire. If you're just getting into prison, there's more room to roleplay an unaffiliated peckerwood already involved in criminal affairs. If you want to jump in quick, this is a good route. Some people don't get involved in hardcore crime until prison. CREDITS The inspiration for this guide is from a multitude of guides from other communities, most notably written by Pie and Warren Borbeck. Not everything that could be included is definitely included in this guide, but I will add on numerous other things as time goes on. Mainly, I was tired of people copying things from other communities, and wanted to see something written in-house used as a guideline. This is a good baseline for roleplay. If you're looking for information, I highly suggest looking for interviews of prisoners on YouTube. The CDCR has produced a number of videos. If you’re not familiar with the California prison system, ensure you read more about it. Let me know if there's any errors or typos, I wrote this pretty quickly.

  3. Preface In this guide, I will be mentioning the phrase ‘American Born Chinese’ which for ease of use, I will abbreviate to ABC. The purpose of this guide is essentially to extend some of my personal knowledge to others in an in-depth manner, in an attempt to bolster Chinese-American roleplay. To many, this form of roleplay is quite niche and unfortunately misportrayed by many. The first mistake I see people make when attempting to play a (specifically) Chinese-American character, they immediately believe they speak in thataccent. You know, the “Herro! Wercam to Beijing!” - in reality, there is no ‘Chinese-American’ accent, it’s completely indistinguishable from your typical American accent, depending on where you may be from in the U.S. Generally speaking, many Chinese-American’s mainly originate from Southern China, from the provinces of Guangdong and in more recent times Hong Kong - this mass immigration is exacerbated by the fact that since the handover of Hong Kong in 1997, many have been seeking economic refuge in the United States. Despite the fact that many ABC speak fluent English, it isn’t exactly uncommon to hear the Cantonese tongue being spoken between family members and fellow ABC’s - this fact is attributed to how the culture has been passed down from generation to generation, and generally speaking the ABC’s are still very homogenous in their own distinct ethnic enclaves in the U.S, for example the numerous Chinatowns in places like Los Angeles, and New York - which brings me onto the next section. American Chinatown’s and their inhabitants In many cities across America, distinctly Chinese neighbourhoods have sprung up in a phenomenon which started in the late 1800s, wherein these neighbourhoods truly began to take form. These areas still retain Chinese culture, and the predominant language - Cantonese - is often heard within such neighbourhoods. Even in the younger generation, which are often taught fluent English often converse in Cantonese with friends and family. Tong’s and their long and arduous history With the pacific railroad underway on the West-Coast from the mid-1800s up until around the 1890s, America had a labour demand. In this time of need, the Chinese came over in mass droves to help quench this need for labourers. This influx of mass migration was further exacerbated by the gold rush. These labourers did not go for long however without being discriminated against by the majority white population, as they were seen as cheap labour who were merely coming over to take the jobs off of the working class ‘white’ folk due to their willingness to accept such meagre wages - and this is where the Tong associations came into play. In their purest and most ideal form, these buildings were meant to act as social halls, or gathering places for Chinese immigrants working on these projects. ‘Benevolent Associations’ were soon formed to help aid these tongs, and in an ideal scenario these would be just that - benevolent. However, this was not an ideal scenario. These associations and the tong buildings faced extreme hardships and financial issues. This unfortunately meant that many tongs either had to shut down, or resort to criminal activities in meagre attempts to keep the organisations alive. This next section will be directly taken from this as I feel it does a perfect job of explaining what exactly a criminal tong may look like.: https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/Digitization/148447NCJRS.pdf Tongs hold themselves out as, and in some cases are, legitimate business associations. Many of the tongs in the United States are national organisations with chapters in cities that have large Chinese communities. These tongs engage in a variety of legitimate activities and take an active and public role in their communities. On the other hand, tongs also have secret initiation ceremonies, and they are, in some cases, fronts for criminal activities. The economic mainstay of most criminally-influenced tongs is illegal gambling, Not all members of such tongs are involved with illegal activity, but officials and members of such tongs have been known to direct criminal enterprises that include extortion, drug trafficking; robbery, and alien smuggling. Thus, tongs, while not triads, do in some respect imitate triad activity. The typical organisational structure of'a tong is similar to that of a corporation, headed by a president and vice president, officers- often including an auditor, public relations officers, counsel, and collector and the regular members. The regular members typically pay dues and have little involvement in the operation of the tong. The evidence that tong leadership is involved in criminal activities is substantial. In September, 1990, the New York On Leong Tong, along. with local chapters in Chicago and Houston, were indicted on racketeering, gambling, and tax charges. After a 5 month trial, the jury convicted the Chicago On Leong and three other men of tax conspiracy but was deadlocked on the racketeering charges. Other On Leong members were convicted of individual tax charges, and the Houston On Leong plead guilty to racketeering. A retrial on the deadlocked counts is scheduled. In Boston, Harry Mook, a leader of the Chinese Freemasons, recently plead guilty to involvement in a substantial money laundering operation and for bribing Boston police The former president of the Three Mountain Association, a now defunct New York-based tong, is currently jailed on drug charges. In order to protect and further support their criminal activities, tongs have, in many instances, affiliated with Chinese street gangs. Most major New York City tongs are affiliated with a street gang. Kenneth Chu, a former member of both the On Leong Tong and the Ghost Shadows street gang testified to the close association between the Ghost Shadows and the On Leong Tong. He asserted that the Ghost Shadows would not continue to exist without the On Leong. Tong Wars Crimes that were rife within tongs can range from gambling, to prostitution - to extortion of local businesses. Most of these associations comprised of young and eagre men who wished to delve into the criminal underworld. The word ‘tong’ soon became synonymous with a criminal underworld - further worsened by how these associations often used to battle each other, in a period known as the Tong Wars. This period lasted from around 1880 all the way until the early 1900s, seeing numerous tongs pitting themselves against each other for control over Chinatown’s and their criminal enterprise. These tongs often used men named the ‘boo how doy’, essentially these boys were the hatchet men of the tong, used as muscle. Most of these hatchet men consisted of the lowest of the low, impoverished men who essentially had nothing to lose and thus resorted to working for these tongs. At their core, the tongs were supposed to be legal organisations, so in an attempt to clean their act up they instead employed the use of street gangs whom often did dirty work for the tong. Whilst these street gangs acted mostly on their own terms, allying with certain tongs would certainly bring benefits to these would-be gangsters - as they could use it as a bargaining chip when entering conflict with another more powerful, or weaker street gang as they’d have the backing of such an influential organisation. These wars were most prevalent in cities such as San Francisco and New York, where mass immigration was rife from China, the tong wars were fairly contained in the ethnic enclaves of Chinatown, however this only meant far more bodies piled up, as it was hard to remain safe within these neighbourhoods with such vicious crimes taking place. What brought the end of the Tong Wars? It was by force, the local governments clearly saw that this couldn’t go on, and thus they had to employ the use of force against said tong’s and their street gang subordinates. Notable tongs include (source: wikipedia) Bing Kong Tong - California, Washington On Leong Tong - Predominantly in New York Hip Sing Tong - New York Suey Sing Tong - California, Oregon, Washington - even extending so far as to British Columbia in Canada. Chinese-American street gangs, and how to properly portray them From around the 1960s, many ABC’s began to form their own street gangs as a means to combat discrimination and racism against them. These were seen very predominantly on the West-Coast of the U.S in cities such as San Francisco which carried quite a large Chinese population. Notable gangs formed in this era include the Wah Ching, Asian Boyz and the Chung Ching Yee, who branded themselves the Joe Boys. Many Chinese-American street gangs take inspiration from latino gangs, and Afro-American gangs - even going so far as to use lingo and their dialects. The general mentality of these street-gangs remain an ethos of the quite a lot of the Chinese people, they’re very forward and confrontational and may often resort to violence. An example of which would be their lack of empathy towards civilian casualties, a prime example being the Golden Dragon Massacre wherein numerous civilian deaths, a few of which were tourists, occurred. This was apart of an ongoing feud betweenJBS (Joe Boys) and the Wah Ching. Most of these street-gangs have a fairly loose ranking system, and most often members are recruited from a very, very young age - mostly in high school. These young boys are often lured in with the promise of wealth and power, which infatuates these boys. A lot of the time, these footsoldiers run businesses of their own, which can range from counterfeit operations to gambling. Many street-gangs choose to align themselves with tongs - even in modern times, with the promises of protection and wealth. I will again be taking a section from this document, https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/Digitization/148447NCJRS.pdf Chinese street gangs generally consist of males in their late teens and early twenties. While some gang-members join voluntarily, others are coerced into joining. Chinese gangs sometimes conduct initiation ceremonies modelled after triad tradition and ritual. While the organisational structure of the Chinese street gangs in the United States appears to vary, all have some type of hierarchical structure. The Ghost Shadows, for example, have three organisational levels. The top level consists of gang leaders referred to as "dai-lo" or big brothers. These leaders are the ones most likely to have contact with other groups and are the farthest removed from the actual execution of any given crime. The second level consists of the lieutenants of the gang who manage the ordinary members. Finally, there are the members, or street soldiers, known as ma-jai (little horse). The soldiers carry out the assignments of the leaders. Chinese street gangs function on two related, but distinct levels. First, the gangs engage in their own independent criminal activities such as extortion and robbery. Second, the street gangs work for and with other Chinese organised crime groups such as tongs or triads. For example, a tong that runs a gambling house may hire a gang to protect the gambling house from other' gangs or from local law enforcement. In exchange, the gang receives the prestige of being associated with the tong and has access to the tong's protection and resources, including lawyers. Gang members often belong to both tongs and gangs. The relationship between the Tong and their 'subordinate' street gangs In this diagram, you can see how each gang may be affiliated to a specific tong association, e.g the Flying Dragons in New York affiliate themselves with the Hip Sing association, who operate out of the Hip Sing Tong. Going more in-depth into the ranking structure of the tong association itself, most tong buildings consist of a president, a vice-president, a secretary and an auditor along with several elders and public relation ministers (wikipedia) - many tongs run themselves as legal organisations, doing things such a typical NGO charity may do, such as run events, festivals and the likes. However some still remain associated with the criminal underworld. Most street-gangs which are affiliated to tong's often consist of your average run of the mill gangbangers, mostly filled with young Chinese men. Following these men, you'd have the 'Dai Lo' essentially meaning big brother. These men would then report to the 'ah kung' who are pretty much enforcers for the 'gwan dai' or 'red pole' - the Gwan Dai are essentially the top dogs - without going to mainland China wherein the main triad organisations lie. The Gwan Dai pretty much run the tong, with the tong's president being a figurehead of sorts - with no real power over the street gang - at least in the modern day. If need be, the street-gangs could even oust the president of the tong and put someone in favour of their gang in its place. Many gangs may run under one single tong association. Triads in the United States When people start up their own factions, I see many people beginning with Chinese triads - these being the heavily tattoo'd suited men, trawling the back alleys - often taking inspiration solely from the game Sleeping Dogs. The triads are essentially a TV trope, at least to an extent in the United States. It's heavily disputed whether these triad organisations actually have that much prevalence within the U.S, though they're extensively documented within places like Hong Kong and Macau where membership ranges into the tens of thousands. At least in San Francisco, the only real 'triad' remains to be the Wo Hop To - which since the early 1990s attempted to branch out internationally into the United States. Whilst they experienced early successes in the form of gaining power within the Hop Sing Boys and the Wah Ching (after assassinating their then leader Danny Wong). Not much is known about triads in the United States, apart from the fact that they may in fact be operating there in secrecy. I would personally tend to stray away from triad roleplay, at least in the setting of Los Santos. Whilst there certainly are triad members on the west-coast of the United States, it's nothing to the extent of a full on triad being in operation. If, however, you do choose to start up a triad faction, please keep in mind these organisations are extremely secretive. Often times, you're unable to distinguish your average Joe in Chinatown to a triad member. They're not really your typical suit and tie boys either, many people seem to draw comparisons between the La Cosa Nostra and the Chinese triads in typical TV tropes, however this is certainly not the case. Gambling, extortion and prostitution In Chinese society, gambling has played a pretty substantial role - I'd personally even consider gambling apart of their culture. Even with most forms of gambling outlawed in mainland China - unregulated and illegal gambling is still rife. With games such as: 'mahong' 'sic bo' or 'pai gow' many of these games tend to have quite a long history in China - with mahjong being around since the formation of the Qing dynasty. Prevalence in the United States; gambling is extremely popular in many Chinese communities. Most of this gambling remains unregulated and illegal, with many back alley games taking place. In fact, you're extremely likely to see places like mahjong parlours cropping up in tong buildings due to the fact that they aren't exactly easy to regulate. In Chinatown districts, it's more than likely you can see a member of these tongs on a daily basis. Not only this, but also members of a street gang in the local area. They tend to try and blend in a little bit - in terms of extorting local businesses, this practice still remains quite common. People are often afraid to report such to the local authorities due to the fact that it would simply put their lives in danger. Asian gangs also take advantage of legal gambling venues to further their criminal activities. Legal casinos operating in Nevada and Atlantic City, as well as legal card clubs in California, have, in recent years, made special efforts to attract Asian customers. The marketing efforts of the various casinos have attracted not only the legitimate gambler, but some Asian organised crime figures as well. Numerous Asian organised crime figures, including some from Hong Kong, patronise American casinos. They are usually known as "high rollers" who gamble for high stakes. They are suspected of laundering money through the casinos. Efforts have been made by Asian organised crime members to become involved in legal gambling operations by means of purchasing ownership interests, subcontracting to operate Asian games or other services, and by providing Asian entertainment. Onto prostitution - quite a touchy subject on roleplay servers. In real life, prostitution carries a long history in Chinatown. This was exacerbated by the fact that many tongs and 'triads' specialised in people smuggling. This was mainly due to the numerous bills being passed to restrict Chinese immigration, such as the Chinese Exclusion act of 1882 - this law was extended again in 1892. This meant that those still living within the U.S couldn't reunite with their families, as they'd be denied entry. This ensued a mass wave of people smuggling. At the time, the Asian population was mainly men. With many Chinatowns being dominated with 90% of the population being men, this led to said people smugglers bringing in women to work as prostitutes, and to marry the local men. As it stands in modern times, the adult film industry remains a prime example of these organisations poking their fingers into the adult industry. Prostitutes are often far more low-key in Chinatowns, given how they remain quite touristy and conservative - however it's not uncommon to find them in back alleyways. Most of these are affiliated to bigger crime rings, and most of the time - street gangs. Roleplaying a Chinese or Chinese-American character The 'fresh off the boat' immigrant, commonly known as a first-generation immigrant today mainly consist of those from Hong Kong, Macau and southern China. The mass immigration the United States is currently receiving from Hong Kong and Macau can be attributed to the handovers of both cities, with H.K being handed over in 1997 and Macau in 1999. Most of these immigrants tend to be economic migrants, fleeing the communistic government for fear of persecution. Whilst Hong Kong operates a one country two systems policy (essentially Hong Kong is apart of the People's Republic of China - however it currently operates with its own system) this hasn't stopped mass droves of people leaving Hong Kong to seek the American dream. As such, this has led to more waves of immigration into the U.S - it's not particularly uncommon to see broken English and the Hong Kong accent being spoken in Chinatown's across U.S cities. A lot of immigration also comes due to students, especially in the setting we roleplay in - Los Santos. Many Chinese immigrants may be coming in to study in the Los Santos University, much like in real life Los Angeles. These students tend to be typically more educated than the common labourers who came over decades prior, and often have some sort of English capabilities - though accents are still prevalent. If roleplaying second-generation, or even third-generation it's highly likely you'd have gone to a typical American school and speak fluent English. Many Chinese families are rather closely knit, and often parents do indeed pass on their language onto their children. Some children of Chinese parents may speak Cantonese and Mandarin, though this is more often found in Chinatown districts where Chinese is still the dominant language and commonly used on the streets to talk with friends. The typical jobs vary, if roleplaying a first-generation immigrant 'labourer' it'd be unlikely you'd be working outside of Chinatown - given language barriers. Though, it wouldn't be unlikely to see such labourers working at the docks, or in the construction business as the Chinese people are very, very hard workers as seen from their long and arduous history in the United States. In Chinese society however, money is king - and that brings me onto my next point. The Importance of Face Essentially, face can be defined by your 'dignity' or 'prestige' within a community. Quite literally the worst thing that can happen to someone within a Chinese community is 'losing face' - it's something so distinctly Chinese, that it's almost unheard of anywhere else. An old Chinese saying goes “Men can’t live without face, trees can’t live without bark.” Essentially in Laymen terms, a person's face is a person's reputation. Causing someone to lose face can be considered one of the worst disrespects possible. Actions that may lose face may be as minute as disrespecting your elders, or calling somebody out on a lie. Ways of showing face may be giving somebody praise, giving an expensive gift or something like that. A thing to note, face is definitely more prevalent in the older generation. Those who may be first-generation immigrants are also familiar to the concept of face, a Chinese-American kid off the street would probably care less what his elders think of him. Roleplaying an illegal alien I cannot stress enough how important it is to realistically portray an illegal alien, if going down this rather niche avenue of roleplay. A lot of the time, people I see often can't stay true to their character and may 'asspull' objects for their own gain for fear of a CK. If roleplaying an illegal alien, you should ALWAYS fear CK, not only from the police and ICE, but also those who actually 'smuggled' you in. Chinese alien smuggling rings have been increasingly active in recent years. There is evidence that organised Asian criminals attracted by the high profits, up to $30,000 per head, and low risks (penalties, even if smugglers are caught, are low). Most smuggling organisations have 'snakeheads', essentially these snakeheads are the ones who will be transporting you over to the United States. Most of these illegal immigrants hail from the poorest regions of China, namely Fujian in the P.R.C which, as it stands, remains the most common birthplace of these illegal immigrants. In fact, an INS agent recalls saying "If you have $30,000 and live in Fujian Province, there is no reason to leave because you are one of the richest people there." The actual process may require you to be first taken to somewhere like Bangkok, where you'll then be transported to central America or in some cases South America, this is usually because visas are able to be easily bought by the Snakeheads - whether this exodus is by air or sea is usually determined by which is the safest option for the Snakehead. Most of these people have little money to pay the smugglers when they actually arrive in the States, and thus are indebted to these smuggling organisations and often times street gangs are recruited to put pressure on illegals, even resorting to kidnappings and extortion. Roleplaying an illegal can be a very interesting experience, and if done correctly can produce extremely entertaining roleplay. A thing to note, most of these illegals come from the poorest regions of China and thus wouldn't be particularly educated, and so a language barrier would certainly be a factor to put in place when roleplaying an illegal. This would most likely mean you'd have ZERO knowledge on English whatsoever, although this can vary from person to person. Sources and Reading Material https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/Digitization/148447NCJRS.pdf - A bit outdated, published in 1992. Considered in-depth and a fairly long read. 4. This isn't a server rule, it's something done by the departments themselves. Approach the leadership of both the LSPD and LSFD if you want it to change. As a senior member of Player Management I can confirm it didn't come from us. Whoever told you is giving you false information. I don't see it changing myself. It's in place for for roleplay quality reasons. You don't have people with enough money to drive a fleet of sports cars moving on to a $50,000 a year job. They wouldn't be able to maintain their current lifestyle. It's one thing having over a million in the bank but living in a low end apartment and driving a cheap car. It's another if you have actual assets that wouldn't make sense for a firefigher or police officer to own and maintain.

  6. Well, we CAN force everyone to start as hobos with literally no money or take it a step further by forcing them to start as toddlers who can then progress through life one dollar at a time but most people want to jump in as adults who lived in this world for awhile so logically they'd have a bit of money or a place to stay at the ages of 20-80 so that's why you have those starter paychecks. If you think that driving around in sports cars and living in mansions is good portrayal of an entry level police officer or firefighter then this isn't the server for you. What we aim to achieve is realistic portrayal by all players while also not forcing them into 9-5 labor on a RP server over basic assets. We're not here to turn PD, FD or any other organisation on the server into formula 1 playboys who ride around on yachts by day and issuing parking tickets by night so that's that. Keane summed things up quite nicely so I'll be locking the thread on that note. If you have issues with faction standards, contact FM. You have issues with portrayal, contact PLM.

  7. You get around $5000 an hour for the first 40 hours for a total of around $200,000. This is to allow players to roleplay rather than focus on grinding jobs. You can get a mid end apartment and a decent car with that money. It helps played get started with whatever roleplay they have planned. Players are forwarded to Player Management if they don't have characters suited to the amount of assets their character has. It's not a blanket ban, each player is spoken to and we take their character development into consideration. It just seems like a communication issue that it was mandatory for players applying to be forwarded to Player Management. It's entirely up to the departments themselves.

  9. Eastern European Organized Crime Group Russian organized crime or Russian mafia and other organized crime groups based in East Side of Europe are a collective of various organized crime elements originating in Europe. The organizations are primarily involved in smuggling, arms trafficking, heists, drug trafficking, prostitution rings, protection rackets and illegal gambling. Unlike other international criminals groups - such as La Cosa Nostra (which specializes in protection-extortion) or the Mexican cartles (drug trafficking) - Eastern European organized crime groups are involved in almost every criminal activity. Name a crime, and the EEOCG circuit is bound to have it in it's extensive repertoire. Organized groups are composed into the smaller groups, which in turn have wider networks throughout Europe and America. The Organized Crime groups are organized in a horizontal fashion, with no strict hierarchy and a high degree of independence. Since the early 1970s a rising demand for a variety of illegal drugs has fostered the development of an international drug trade from producing to consumer countries and the emergence of nationwide drug distribution systems in all European states. This was followed by a second wave of expansion involving the rise of a human smuggling and trafficking industry, which was largely triggered by the enactment of increasingly restrictive immigration policies in most Western European countries during the 1990s. Despite the re-conversion of many professional criminals to drug trafficking and dealing, several other - traditional and non-traditional - profit-making criminal activities have continued to proliferate. EEOCG - is a newly formed organization around the eastern side of Los Santos, primarily around Mirror Park. The group's orchestrator is still unknown. He has been and out of the United States for a long time, making a profit off business investments in some of the markets. The group is now formed of people from ex-USSR countries, who have came to United States for the usual American life dream with the offer of making money through illegal activities. Crew includes people from countries such as Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine and others, forming an Organized Crime. What unites groups from these countries is the same common language (Russian) and the fact they used to be one country until the somewhat recent fall of the USSR. The faction's essential goal is to illustrate a fictional interpretation of legal/illegal based Eastern European Organized Crime Group, with our own taste of roleplay. Which takes place in Los Santos. At the current state of IC, there's no hierarchy, no existence nor plans for the crew. Which leaves plenty of room for development and paths. This faction aims for realism, and by realism comes time. Players who wish to sonic through the ranks, then this isn't for you, everything will be ICly decided by occurring events. Everyone's capable of putting a mark in our role-play and be the leader, no matter the OOC leadership. The faction welcomes every ethnic group, even though it's mainly of Eastern Europeans descent, that being said. It will be more difficult to reach the ring of the faction, hence a crucial need of an important character will heavily outdo the difficulty of any ethnic group. By joining this faction you must understand what you are getting into and do some research before diving into such role-play. We will always do our best to help those in need of it, with that being said we want players to role-play proper and not off the boat characters. If you need some insight on how to role-play or wanting to join hit up Rokas on the forums. CK permissions will be required upon fully joining the faction, mostly after the character gets implicated in illegal activities with the other members of the association.

  11. Going to try out a screenshot thread, it'll keep me motivated and encourage me to find the ghost of Los Santos and roleplay with them. Dorian McNamara is a twenty year old high school graduate who hails from Boston, Massachusetts but is currently living in Los Santos with his uncle working a hated roofing job that he's only involved with to keep his uncle from kicking him to the curb. He pays special attention to the fashion industry and is trying to use his tiny internet following and connections to become apart of just about any brand that would entertain having this hooligan represent them. The man lacks common sense, is funny, a genuinely kind person, but he will fight somebody for less, and also dabbles in petty crime. Underground rap culture is his life changing influence for better or worst. This guy has absolutely nothing to live for other than a bottle of fireball and the ability to forge his own "designer" clothing or spend all his money on it because he's young, dumb, and trying to impress his internet idols. Dorian is going down a dark route as of late. Trap house scumbag fashion icon drug dealing sexual deviant internet personality gun peddler?

  19. We should be able to delete our own facebrowser account so we don't have to hazle poor Nervous about it all the time! This leads up to three things. 1: The admins can focus on important things. 2: The admins will have more time to roleplay. 3: It will make it easier for said user(s). The command should be under edit or general setting.

  20. I 100% agree with this idea, as I had deleted 100% of the content on my account and changed it's name in order to apply to my new characters. It's time consuming for both the players and administrators. Much support.

  22. I am up for this when prison gets released, where you can actually roleplay with people. (DOC, Sureños, Norteños, White supremacist, BGF, etc). For now we can keep it the way it is, but when prison comes out, this should be a thing. Also the sentences should be increased. People will actually think before committing a crime.

  23. I spend a lot of my time pushing for getting the DoC and a prison operational, I've found mappers who have answered the call and we're just waiting for the go ahead to get the process started. I'll say this, however, if anyone is expecting an easy ride when it comes to prison who aren't already connected criminals on the outside it's going to be one hell of a rude awakening. People who try and flirt with crime with their rich buddies(see: Mallrats) and then enter the system are going to be hurt the most as the real-life Cali prison rules WILL be enforced and there WILL be CK's for people who willingly bring violence upon themselves by refusing to go with the politics.

  25. Whilst I get that on very, very rare occasions, it can be character development between consenting parties, on every occasion I’ve noticed somebody attempting to do it, it’s been entirely apparent their motivation wasn’t character development or story progression but rather a spontaneous rape perms request over dms usually followed by the token “your loss” or whatever when the person declines that roleplay. In my opinion, most of the time it’s just the individual being motivated by their own..questionable fantasies, rather than any legitimate roleplay intentions, so I suggest that either A, people can roleplay rapes or other offensive sexual assaults but only in so much as a quick time skip ‘fade to black’ scenario with two consenting parties, where an emote in do like “A rape takes place” and it’s left at that. B it’s forbidden full stop and punishable Under the terms of the rules. C, like house breakins, an admin has to be present if only briefly to assess that it’s absolutely a situation where it’s a total character progression thing and an entirely IC affair rather than a horny boy behind the screen. Just my two cents, I don’t agree with rape rp in the casual ‘spots a female and drops her a message asking for random rape perms’. I think that should be a bannable offence.

  26. Simply put - if murdering another character results in a CK, then the penalty for that crime should be a "life in prison without the possibility of parole" CK. The only reason I abstain from mentioning the death sentence is because California politics are such that it would never become law, but life in prison absolutely would. The ability to permanently remove a character from the server should not come without the potential for an equivalent consequence.

  27. Contents Introduction How to roleplay as a resident living in gang territory How to roleplay as a gang member / gang banger Being a female within a street gang The General Environment Gang & Ghetto terminology Conclusion Introduction Welcome! This guide will mainly be to do with Hispanic gangs, but alot of what will be said here also ties in with other types of gangs (Such as Afro-American gangs) In this guide I'll be going over the terminology used by certain gangs, the way they operate, the types of people who join these gangs aswell as other things relating to this subject. I've written this guide in hopes of inspiring higher standards amongst the gang community on GTA:World, I don't intend to say that the current gang factions aren't doing good or aren't portraying things correctly, They're all great factions in their own right, but there's definitely room for improvement in all of them and improvement is something that every faction in general should strive for. Which is why I'm here to hopefully educate some people on this subject and to inspire better, more realistic portrayals of street gangs, gang related characters and the ghetto environment in general. How to roleplay as a resident living in gang territory There's one thing I always tell members of my factions, and that it's that you need to think about what you want your character to be BEFORE you make it. Decide early what kind of person you want your character to be along with how old he/she is going to be. (If you wish for your character to eventually be inducted into the street gang, he/she MUST be a teenager in most cases, there's usually no exceptions. If not? You can pick whatever age you'd like) First off decide what nationality you want your character to be from. If you're trying to join a crip or blood gang, it's obvious that your char would be Afro American or just black in general. Though with Hispanic gangs, there's a range of nationalities you could choose from. Although, depending on the gang and their culture, some nationalities are more valid than others. For example a Mexican gang is more likely to strictly accept Mexicans, a gang like Ms-13 or 18th Street is likely to accept almost any central american nationality, aswell as Mexicans. Decide aswell on your background story and your character's personality traits. If he/she's Latino, Are your character's parents illegal? Is your character himself or herself illegal? Does he or she speak English? Or just Spanish? As for why your character would want to join a gang? Well here are the main reasons teenagers anywhere join street gangs, among other reasons. Kids that want to be or feel tough Kids that want to be respected Kids that want to feel loved or needed Kids that want to be apart of something bigger than them Kids with broken families or mental issues Kids that want to be feared by other people They love feeling like they're powerful Kids and Teenagers with these personality traits and similar personality traits are more likely to join a street gang than a sheltered boy who knows nothing about street gangs or the way they operate. Moving on, your character should 90% of the time be from the same neighbourhood as the street gang that you wish to have your character become apart of. Nobody is gonna go through a move from Chicago or Miami to the slums of Los Santos just to get affiliated to a street gang when he/she arrives, that's senseless and a shitty, lazy way of portraying a character. They'd most likely attend local schools with gang members. As a teenager from the ghetto, your character (Even non affiliated) would most likely very vividly understand the street gang culture that goes on within the neighbourhood, he'd hear shots and sirens at night, he'd see drunken cholos hanging out in alleyways and at the park. He'd know which gang is which, what their graffiti looks like aswell as who they don't get along with, where their territory is located and he'd most likely know exactly how the area he lives in is carved up when it comes to street gangs. Keep in mind that your character, as mentioned before is more than likely from the slums of whatever neighbourhood you choose to RP being from. He or she may have lost somebody in his/her life, he or she may have a broken family. He or she may suffer abuse at home, They may have family members who are affiliated with certain gangs. This may or may not influence the gang your character would want to join. In some cases families can be completely torn apart based on which gang a certain family member chooses to affiliate his or herself with. We're talking about a very savage environment where the vast majority of these prospect gang members are uneducated and generally feel like they don't have much to offer society, so they turn to the streets and to gangs for guidance. Roleplay your character as a desperate teenager from the ghetto, don't try to pull any of that 'WhAt iS dRuG' or 'WhAt iS GuN' bullshit, PLEASE. Your character most likely VIVIDLY understands what guns or drugs are. As mentioned before, he'd hear shots almost every night. He'd see the drug addicts prowling the streets at night when he looks out his window, he may even have family members who've fallen victim to said drugs. It's not meant to be HARD for people to become affiliated to a gang, but it's best you dont approach leading members straight like that, you're not gonna get any respect that way. Instead, befriend the members that are more around your character's age range. They're your character's key into the gang. If he or she plays their cards right, your character should very easily become a full blown gang member. A good idea and something great to roleplay would for your character to be a tagger, basically a member of a local tagger crew, a young cholo or chola. (You could either form a tagger crew IC with a couple of friends, or roleplay that your character is simply a lone tagger/graffiti artist.) He or she would most likely come into contact with the gang eventually and over time be jumped in, leaving his or her crew (If he/she is in one ofc) behind to become a member of whatever gang resides in his neighbourhood. Just know that your character doesn't actually have to kill anybody to become a valuable part of a street gang. MS-13 for example is focused around money and they thrive through their drug sales. Yes, certain gangs are extremely violent, but that doesn't mean every single person that hangs out with or is affiliated with the gang is a murderous psychopath, which is why people need to consider WHAT they're gonna RP before they come IG and roleplay with the faction. 90% of young gang members in LA haven't actually killed anybody yet, shot at them maybe. But not killed. Lastly, please don't try to carry your character as a hardened gangbanger right off the bat. It's okay to be a rowdy teenager that's extremely down for his or her gang, but keep it realistic. Your character isn't a killer yet, he/she's a teenager from the slums of LS who most likely hangs out with a local street gang. Your goal at this point should be to befriend members of a gang of your choice and over time work your way into the gang. This process could take days, weeks or even months. Depending on a variety of factors. Your ultimate goal is to show interest in the gang when possible and to work your way towards a jump in. How to roleplay as a gang member / gang banger First of all, I'm going to stress that there's a difference between a gang member and a gang banger. A gang MEMBER is somebody who's part of a street gang, but isn't actively putting in work. A gang BANGER is a more dedicated member of a street gang who actively commits crimes for the benefit of his/her gang. This is a difference that not many people are educated on. Your average street gang member most likely isn't actively commiting crimes for the gang apart from selling the occasional dimebag or the likes. Usually after your character passes the age of 18 he/she makes the transition from a gang member to a gang banger. Also keep in mind that just because your character is a gang MEMBER, doesn't mean they have no obligations when it comes to their gang, or that they completely avoid banging. It's more of a choice, an option. Once your character is inducted into a street gang of their choosing, he or she would most likely feel a great sense of pride, belonging and power. He or she would be most likely schooled on the gang's rules and his or her initiation process would be complete. Though this depends on how organised the gang is and how they operate. Some gangs have a strict code of conduct with rules that result in death, beatings or being jumped out. Some are completely based on respect with no type of code of conduct whatsoever. Your character may now have to pay a certain amount of money as "rent" to his or her gang's leader and would also quite possibly be required to attend meetings. (Though once again, this depends on the gang and their structure) Now there's alot of things your character could take part in after he or she is jumped in. He or she could start selling drugs out of the gang's trap house (If he/she doesn't already have permission to sell. As mentioned before. It depends on the gang. Some gangs don't allow outsiders/residents to sell drugs for them) he or she could start trying to extort local street vendors and local stores. He or she could even start selling fake ID's, trying to pimp girls or even selling alcohol to minors. Anything goes within most gangs aslong as money continues flowing. Your character's main job as a newly inducted member would very likely be to bring money in for the clique and possibly to bring new members in to the clique. in most of my factions, It's entirely up to the jumped in members to do the recruiting, Higher Ranked members usually have more important matters to attend to ICly. In general, if your character is initiated into a street gang. He or she becomes not only an IC representative of the street gang, but you as a player become a representation of your faction on an OOC basis. Try to keep this in mind when roleplaying with ANY gang faction. You'd be surprised how easily one simple fuck up can permanently taint your faction's reputation. Try not to be that one person who simply stands there facing the street or selling drugs on corners, that kind of mentality is outdated and just looks stupid. If you're gonna be ingame with your faction, have your character out there doing things, not just standing there like a statue. Create your own roleplay, enhance the environment that's being portrayed. It's also worth noting that alot of gangs nowadays generally have morals and high standards when it comes to so called 'honor'. I can't speak for African-American gangs, but I know that the majority of Latino gangs heavily frown upon heinous crimes such as rape, child molestation, drive by's and the murder of innocent women/children. Take proper precautions while roleplaying a member of one of these gangs, even gangs like MS-13 have toned things down when it comes to things like molestation/rape and the murder of women or children. This is something that you should take into account when roleplaying your character. Unless he is a complete psychopath or his gang is one of those gangs where it doesn't matter what you do, your character isn't likely to get any enjoyment or respect out of doing things such as what's mentioned above. Keep in mind that realistically, if your character goes to jail for killing a kid, innocent woman or for raping somebody, he is more than likely to have a massive target painted on his back by the Mexican Mafia or the Aryan Brotherhood, or even by other prisoners who simply frown upon those types of crimes. He may not even make it out of jail alive if he slips up. Take proper precautions and think about what your character's worries and feelings would be, this ties in with my next point. Lastly, keep in mind that your character is not only a member of a gang or faction. He/she is a human being. He/she should have feelings, hobbies, problems, possible mental issues, imperfections, prejudices, morals, addictions and pretty much everything that makes us humans. Nobody likes roleplaying with a robot like gang member who has no feelings or regard for human life. Yes, your character may very well be a violent person who either has killed somebody or may kill somebody in the future, but this doesn't mean your character wouldn't feel bad after he/she ended another human's life. Most people who commit murders in real life spend the rest of their lives living on edge, jumping as the wind blows aswell as having severe sleeping issues (Night terrors, insomnia, etc). Also tying in with my previous point about heinous crimes, if your character raped a woman. How would he cope with the fact that some girl's life has been irreversibly shattered? That chick will most likely never see life the same again and your character would most likely know this very well. Maybe your character's a complete psychopath and gets enjoyment from that simple fact, but what if he isn't? He's surely gonna feel atleast some shred of remorse. This type of roleplay creates great opportunities for character development. Will your character be able to handle taking a life? Will he/she end up taking drugs to numb the feelings of guilt? What will that lead to? Will they eventually clean themselves up following pressure from the homies or their family? Will the drugs corrupt them turn them into a shell of their former selves? That's all up to you and how you choose to go about your character! The best way to do this is to put yourself in the shoes of your character. As in seriously think. What would you do if you were in a street gang and had just committed a murder on behalf of your gang? How would you cope knowing that your face, voice or gang's name was the last thing somebody saw/heard before everything went black? Would you think about that person's family? Would you wonder if he/she had children? Parents waiting on them to come home? A boyfriend or girlfriend? How would these thoughts make you feel about this? How would you feel knowing you caused an irreparable impact on somebody's family or even their entire community? Just think about these points, and you've got a well rounded character on your hands. All in all, make your character feel alive and like a functioning human being! Certain things that happen IC may not affect you as a player, but they'd CERTAINLY affect your character in one way or another. Being a female within a street gang I'll start this off by saying that I in no way condone the act of restricting anybody's roleplay or forcing them to roleplay in a certain fashion, but if you wish for your portrayal of a female gangster to be taken seriously by most seasoned rpers, you're advised to follow what is said here. Most females end up joining street gangs for many of the same reasons males do, they want money, respect and power. To feel like they're apart of something much, much bigger than themselves. Maybe they want to be feared aswell, maybe she has other reasons to join. That's up to you, the person portraying your character. Much like their gang brothers, most female gang members come from the same squalid conditions that their male counterparts come from. Many of them have extremely messed up lives at home, some of them have been through severe trauma (Sexual, mental or psychical) which sometimes was inflicted on them by a member of their family. Some may have mental disorders such as severe anxiety or PTSD as a result of these circumstances. Females also often join gangs because it's the same street gang their boyfriend or brother is from at the time. I'll also note that taking this route is actually a very good way to become affiliated to a gang, especially if your character dates a member of said gang. It'd most likely motivate her to become affiliated even more. Some people see roleplaying relationships with a fellow gang member as whoring for ranks or as trying to take an easy way into the gang, though this really shouldn't be the case and I personally frown upon people who see things this way, This type of mentality completely ruins roleplay opportunities within gangs. Almost 50% of women IRL join gangs as a result of a significant other or a family member becoming or being part of said gang, peer pressure is a REAL thing! There's not really much of a difference between male and female members of most street gangs (Such as African American ones). However, in some gangs They're different in that females are forbidden from gaining leadership roles. The closest a female gang member will get to being a leader in certain gangs is being put in charge of the other girls within the gang, or in rare cases where they're allowed to speak for a boyfriend within the gang if he somehow cant speak for himself. When your female character gets put onto the street gang, she's most likely going to be given two choices. Either a sex in or a jump in. It's usually a trick question, because as a sexed in member, your character is little more than a sex slave for the gang, she gets zero respect from her homegirls and is looked at as a fuck doll by the homeboys. The most popular way for females to get into street gangs is to be jumped in, as it gets them the most respect. Also keep in mind that as a female, whether you like this fact or not. Your character IS looked at as a softer or easier target by rival gangs. Some gangs (Such as MS-13 again) specifically target women from rival gangs with the express purpose of raping them or simply to kill them and cause a significant impact against the enemies. Keep this in mind and remember to roleplay proper fear as a female gangster. Just because you have to approve sexual assault roleplay, doesn't mean it's any less of a possibility from an IC standpoint. When your female character is roaming the ghetto alone and without her homeboys/homegirls, walking through alleyways and such, she's putting herself in direct danger of being targeted by rivals or even just by a local drug addict or homeless person who hasn't had a good fuck in a while. It's a sad fact, but unfortunately it can't be more true when it comes to the ghetto. I'm not saying that females should constantly break down ICly and cry as a result of every confrontation or potentially harmful situation, or that they shouldn't involve themselves in gang feuds or the likes, I'm just saying to keep in mind that females are generally more emotional and easier to intimidate than men, whether or not they're affiliated to a gang. Your character is still a woman and your rp should reflect this fact. If your character was surrounded by four or five rival gang members who attempted to jump her or shove her into a car, she's more likely to freak out or get scared in this situation than a male would be in a similar situation. She might try to put on a brave face, sure. That's acceptable. But how long would that last once the reality of what's going on sinks in? All in all, your character should be a female first and a gang member second, not the other way around. Putting all of the above aside for a moment, roleplaying a female within a street gang can be a very fun and rewarding experience if done right. Your character could go on to lead her own all female clique within the gang, she could involve herself in fights with females from other gangs, she could shoot at females from other gangs, she could stab people from other gangs, she could assist with drug dealing, she could drive for the homies on drive bys or even assist in such hits, she could assist with the gang's finances, assist with paying taxes to La Eme (If she's a Surena and not a bloodette/cripette/ruette of course), hell, she could attempt to set up rival gang members or simply unsuspecting victims on social media to be robbed by her gang, she could also take part in seducing and luring rival gang members to the gang's turf so that they can easily be picked off. Females within gangs are generally more ruthless and cunning simply for the fact that they're biologically weaker than men, so they HAVE to be more calculating than their male counterparts in order to actually get any sort of respect within the gang. Females in general are very manipulative whether they know it or not and most can very easily flip certain situations around to be in their favour. Incorporate this fact into your roleplay and you'll notice people's perception of your character rapidly changing, for better or for worse. But most likely for the better! When roleplaying a female within a Latino gang, just know that Sureno/Hispanic gangs are usually VERY male dominated, males are put before females, always. That's how it is within most Hispanic gangs and it most likely wont change. Basically, your character is a dirty, street-wise and most likely extremely troubled Central American/Mexican/African-American girl from the slums, NOT a white girl from the suburbs with no worries or trauma. Act like that and you'll find yourself enjoying your character much more, aswell as being more respected ICly and OOCly in your faction. The General Environment The type of areas and environments that spawn street gangs are usually riddled with broken homes, low income families and drug abuse. As mentioned before, your character has most likely experienced or is currently experiencing at least one, if not all of these issues. Most people in these neighbourhoods are generally very distrustful of the police and some may even fear calling the police or fear the police in general. Maybe out of fear of being deported or fear of retaliation from the local street gangs. It's highly recommended that you do some sort of research on neighbourhoods such as these, take Westlake/Macarthur Park, Mid City, Southern Koreatown (Pico Union / Rampart) and pretty much all of South Central Los Angeles as inspiration. You can find countless articles and stories about life in these neighbourhoods through a simple google search and it's highly recommended that you do. Not only are these neighbourhoods plagued with fear, drugs and crime but they're also heavily populated by undesirable people (Such as robbers, kidnappers, rapists and child molesters) who prey on people within said communities. Roleplay proper precautions when RPing in the ghetto, basically remember that your character is legit from one of the most violent neighbourhoods in Los Santos. He/she's not walking through Vinewood or Rockford Hills. Gang & Ghetto Terminology In this section I'm gonna go over some of the terminology and slang that street gangs & gang members in Southern California use on a daily basis, some of the slang will be strictly related to certain street gangs (Surenos, Crips, Bloods, Hoovers, MS13, 18th Street) and some will be universal and used by most gangs of a certain background. I'll also go over certain words that can be used to disrespect rival gangs, as that's something that seems to be lacking on here. I've seen people refer to Pirus as slobs, which isn't correct COMMONLY USED DISSES Napp - Disrespectful term towards Neighborhood Crips Tramp - Disrespectful term to 'Tray' Crip and Hispanic gangs with 'Thirty' in their name (For example, 38th Street Gang would be called Tramp ocho, 36th Street would be called Tramp Six) Scrap - Disrespectful term towards Surenos. (Not to be used by Surenos, ever. Even if it's in the context of a fight. ("Lets scrap, ese"). The only exception to this is if your Sureno char is nicknamed Scrappy. Crab - Obviously a disrespectful term towards Crips Slob - Disrespectful term towards Bloods Snoochies / Snoovas- Diss term for Hoover Criminals Hoochies - Diss term for Hustler Crip gangs Faketeen - Diss term for 18th Street Gangs. Okay - Commonly used by Hoover Criminals gang members. It stands for what it sounds like. 'oK', Rollin O killa. So it's basically a disrespectful term towards all Neighborhood Crip gangs. Mierda Seca / Monkey Shit - Diss term for Mara Salvatrucha Dieru - Disrespectful term towards Piru gangs Bike Rims - Diss term for Brim gangs Maggots - Disrespectful term for Mafia Crips There's countless other diss terms that refer to certain street gangs but I'm not gonna add them all here because that'd not only take forever, but it'd be impossible for me to name them all. You can easily find diss terms for gangs by finding their streetgangs.com page or finding videos by said gang on youtube. SLANG Damu - A word used to refer to a member of the Bloods gang B-Dog - A blood, used similarly to the word damu. Verz - Used by Hoover Criminal gangs, usually combined with the word 'Okay' (Okay Verz). Loc (Pronounced as LOWK not LOCK) - A term of endearment for Surenos/Crips that originates from the word 'Loco', this is also used by Crips to refer to eachother similarly to the word damu/b-dog. ("You my loc, nigga.") ('Shoulda been a loc') or (Wassup, loc?) Rip Rider - A term used to refer to a Crip Blood - Pretty obvious. Used by Blood members to refer to their homies. (Wassup, blood?!) Cuzz - Also pretty obvious, used by crips in the same way that Bloods use 'Blood' Maje - A word commonly used by Salvadorans, particularly amongst Ms-13 members. Cerote - Another Salvadoran slang word. It's like saying 'nigga' when used amongst Salvadorans, though if someone who isn't Salvadoran or Central American uses it, it's like adding the 'er' at the end. Ese - Obviously a word used by Surenos. Dog / Perro - Used among Hispanic gang members, usually. Cap / Capping - Lying (This is mainly black slang, but Hispanics can use it too, depending on their generation) Homeboy / Homie - This is obvious. Can be used by any gang member. Ranker / Ranked it / Ranking out - Usually used by Hispanic gang members. Used to describe somebody who isn't as down for their gang as they claim they are. (Such as refusing to fight for the homies, running from gang beef or simply being a pussy. ('Damn foo, you ranked it on us.' or 'Don't be a ranker, ese') Tweak / Scante / Ice - Slang term for meth White - Pretty obvious, Cocaine. Green / Yeska / Loud / Mary-Jane - Marijuana, obviously. Carga / Tar / Brown / Chiva - Heroin Pookie - A meth or crack pipe Tweaker - A crack, pill or meth addict. Basically any form of junkie. Twacked out - Extremely high on meth/crack. (Usually meth) Fade - Not really gang slang, it's more of a word used amongst people in the ghetto to describe a fight. ('Run my fade.' is basically like saying 'fight me') I feel like this one's pretty obvious, though. Bando - An abandoned house that's commonly used as a hangout spot for gangs. (This is NOT a trap house!). Hangout spots such as these are sometimes referred to as 'destroyers', particularly by MS-13 gang members. Trap house - A house, abandoned, rented or privately owned that is used to sell drugs Casita - Spanish for "Small house" A gang controlled establishment (Usually set up in a home) similar to a trap house that sells alcohol to minors, hosts illegal gambling, hosts prostitution aswell as drug dealing. (These are very popular amongst Hispanic gangs such as MS-13 and 18th Street.) Chavala - Not really used that much nowadays, but it's usually a word used by Hispanic gangs to refer to a rival gang member. Nowadays though people usually just refer to their rivals as 'the enemy' or the 'other side'. Hyna / Ruca - Hyna typically refers to an attractive female, Ruca refers to a girlfriend. These words aren't used as much nowadays, but are still relevant and used occasionally. No good - This term is typically used to describe a person of very low social standing. Such as a rapist, child molester or a hard drug addict. ('Man, I saw that foo tryna rape that lil girl from around the way. That motherfucker's a damn no good' or 'She's a tweaker, straight fuckin no good') Chomo - A child molester Leva - Not particularly used as much nowadays, but it's used to refer to any type of punk, traitor or pussy. ('That fool's a leva, man. He said he didn't bang when the enemies pulled up and pressed him') Burnt / Burnt out - Refers to somebody who is either tripping bad or extremely messed up on drugs. ('Man that bitch stays burnt out' is basically like saying 'She's always on drugs.') Somebody being labelled as 'burnt out' usually ends in them being labelled as a no-good if that person doesn't straighten themselves out. Watered down - Somebody who has seemingly forgotten what it means to be apart of a certain gang. This could be someone who suddenly stopped showing their face at the hood, focuses on things that hold no significance to the gang, or simply by being disloyal. Press / G-check - To verbally harass somebody and enquire as to whether or not they're part of a street gang. ('See that foo over there wit the Pirates cap on? Go press that foo, ese. I think he's from Peanutbutters.' (Translation: "Go check if the guy in the Pirates cap is in a gang, I think he's from PBS13") Green Light - A kill order G Ride - A stolen vehicle Hit up / Placaso - A tag, usually gang related. Bombing - To do graffiti, this is usually used by taggers. ('Yall gonna go bombing tonight, homie?') Whacked out / Whack out - To cross out a rival gang's initials on the wall. ('Man, the slobs tagged our shit. Whack those lames out, ese') Caiga - Means 'come' in Spanish slang. Caile - See 'Caiga' Clique - A subsidary of a street gang, can also be used to refer to one's territory. ('You tryna get down wit the TGS clique, dog?' or 'I'm in the clique right now, where you at?' ) Set - A tagger crew or one's territory. Some people make the mistake of thinking 'set' means a gang, when it doesn't. Barrio / Pandilla / Hood - A street gang Put on / Jumped in / Rushed in - To be initiated into a street gang. This is typically the term used nowadays, the whole 'ragged' thing doesn't exist at all. You don't even get a bandanna when you're jumped into a street gang, why would it be called being ragged? Blessed in - To be allowed into a street gang without having to go through the initiation or having to perform sexual favours Sexed in / Fucked in - To be initiated into a street gang through sexual favours WHAT NOT TO SAY Holmes / Vato / Cabron / Orale / ETC - These are words that were typically used by Surenos of the 90's and 80's. These words are part of a type of chicano slang known as 'calo', nowadays this type of slang is not used as much because of the Americanisation of Chicano gangs. Don't use words such as these if your character is of the younger generation of his gang. However if he/she's of the older generation, it's a little more acceptable. Chica - Means 'chick' or 'girl' and could also be considered calo. This typically isn't used amongst Latino gangs anymore, it's a very outdated piece of slang. In general you should be careful when speaking Chicano slang as a Latino gang member, try not to use outdated words or try to overuse it. Hispanic gangs are pretty Americanised nowadays and most seasoned rpers frown upon the constant usage of Spanish. Conclusion All in all, make your character feel alive, we don’t need statues posting up on the corner facing the street. If you’re going to do that? Might as well log out If you’re not effecting the scene in any way? There is no point in you being there. Create an atmosphere around your character by creating RP! You can get others involved by doing so, causing some great IC scenarios. To conclude this, I'll include a few ideas for things you could roleplay doing, especially as a resident when your character is only just starting to affiliate his or herself with a gang. These suggestions were written by a friend of mine in one of my factions. Talking Who would have guessed? Talking to someone is a great way of creating roleplay. This is something that I would prefer over everything else. There’s just something about yapping with your homies about stuff that makes your RP experience 10x greater. Talk about school, life, girls, hell even porn. Its also a way of getting information across to another person, who would have thought? Its only your imagination that is tested in terms of “talking”, you can go as far as you want. Let’s be honest, would you want to talk to someone who has an interesting story to tell or an anti-social person who stands on the corner for five hours before /q’ing? Yeah? That’s what I thought. Paper chase You’re a teenager going through the struggles of the hood life, why not try to make a couple bucks? Shoot some dice, steal something, buy and resell for more. Get a job, not every person in the hood becomes a gang banger. These are just some examples of hustling. Make sure you RP your money REALISTICALLY, I don’t want to be hearing about a teenager who owns diamond grillz, a golden chain and the latest iPhone. Have a REALISTIC source of income. This also leads into illegal profits. If you are one of those who are lucky enough to get linked up with a homie, make sure you deal drugs realistically. Don’t be making your deal obvious, tell them to park up behind in an alley way or a secluded spot. State realistic prices too, I hate when people say that they’re selling cocaine for $2,000. That’s not on, we’re setting a realistic example. NOTE: Making illegal phone calls about “bidness” isn’t realistic at all, do not be giving out your phone numbers to people who swing around. Go to a payphone if you MUST make an illegal phone call. School If you’re a teenager? RP going to school and such, do normal teenage things. Get into fights in school or don’t, beef with people or make friends in school. Realistically gang beefs start off from school then accumulate into something bigger. RP talking shit about your teachers or speak otherwise. The only limits is your imagination. Parties / BBQs This is an excellent way of creating RP, your parents are out for the weekend? Invite your homies over to get wasted, or something happened on the block? Throw the party on the corner. Your Character is who you want them to be, make them into something. Your character’s personality could be built through the events that occur around him/her, which could lead them into becoming a hustler, a pimp, a gang banger or a flat-out ranker. Another note, try to avoid tabbing for long periods of time where people can see. It makes your faction look very bad. If you NEED to tab out, go inside or simply log off until you can return. I'LL BE ADDING MORE TO THIS AS I COME UP WITH MORE THINGS TO WRITE ABOUT OR NEW POINTS COME TO LIGHT. THIS GUIDE IS CURRENTLY IN A SKELETAL STATE AT THE MOMENT. IF YOU'VE GOT KNOWLEDGE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN OR HISPANIC GANG RP, FEEL FREE TO SEND ME THINGS TO ADD. I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO INCORPORATE OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK INTO THIS.

  30. Short description: I've found it very tedious to have to keep track of inventory, log each employee's hours and pay my employees without support from a script - considering it's supposed to run similar to how other businesses such as General Stores, Parlors, etc. This simply suggests the addition of orders onto items that are created and/or items that the business has in its inventory to sell so employees and business owners have a fair chance at wages, commissions, and the same chance as any other scripted business. Detailed description: How custom businesses (Business Created Items) work right now compared to other scripted businesses does not make sense. If you hire an employee, how will you assure that they will do their job, or receive a commission for items/orders they sell if that's how it is intended to work? Say I have an employee that opens the shop at (x) time and I am not there for the day and I have another employee who closes the shop at (x) time. Between that time period, I as a business owner have no way of knowing how many hours they have worked, how many items have been sold, etc. without keeping a spreadsheet and micromanaging - hence - the roleplay is basically gone because I am now dealing with spreadsheets and numbers instead of actually playing the game. Imagine having a restaurant where instead of having to type /giveitem to the player, they can just place their order like a real restaurant, and when the food is ready, the employee can fulfill that order roleplaying taking it to the table, serving it through a stand, etc. Possibilities are ENDLESS. It's just such a better option than unrealistically having to keep an item in your inventory or withdraw an item from the property's inventory. HOW WILL IT WORK? Similar to how General Stores have their set items and prices, the implementation will allow custom businesses to allow the sales through the same system placed in the generic scripted businesses like Genetal Stores, Mech Shops, etc. For Orders - Just like the mechanic shops, players will have to approve the order of the selected items, ensuring roleplay partakes when making transactions. Example 1: Bill walks into a restaurant, sits down, orders a custom recipe created by the owner of the restaurant... (Roleplay Ordering The Food / Then Pressing Y - Similar to Mechanic Garages and how they roleplay). Jen, the waitress, can now roleplay taking the order, walking to the kitchen line, putting the order towards preparation. When the cook/chef has finally finished the meal, the waitress will then take the food to the table and do /acceptorder [###]. This eliminates the pointless use of /giveitem while providing a more realistic and pleasurable environment. Example 2: Say you run an electronics store. You have a super sweet Xbox One w/ a 55 4K TV Inch Bundle. Once you 'order' it and have it in your inventory, you can do: /bpitem 1 1 500. The item will now be available for players to buy when walking into the shop when there is an employee working a shift. Customers will now be able to roleplay accordingly, press Y and create the order for the employee to accept - Example could be: The order is then customer carrying the item to the cashier / Order acceptance is the cashier ringing up the customer. This will now grant the employee the commission they deserve as well as simplify the process between employee and customer. Depositing Items From Stock The store owner deposits the item(s) that they wish to sell through a command: /bpitem [itemid] [itemamount] [pricetoselleachfor] /bpitem - Deposits an item into the business stock [itemid] - The ID of the item from your inventory [itemamount] - Self-explanatory [pricetoselleachfor] - Sets the price each of that item will sell for ** Employees will NOT be able to edit the stock whatsoever. However, possibly manager roles could solve this issue. ** ** For now in order to re-price an item, it will all have to be taken out of stock and be put back on with a new price. ** Withdrawing Items From Stock The store owner withdraws the item(s) that they wish to take remove through a command: /btitem [itemid] [itemamount] /btitem - Withdraws an item into the business stock [itemid] - The ID of the item from your inventory [itemamount] - Self-explanatory TO CHECK INVENTORY: /binv Components & Depletion: As each item depletes so do components. This would be equal to or maybe greater to the standard depletion rate of generic scripted businesses. And again, exactly how Mechanic Garages currently work. The number of components each item will take, I will leave that up for debate. How Do Customers Buy? As simple as it is for generic scripted businesses, the customer will walk into the business and press Y to oversee a menu similar to how you would see in General Shop, Mechanic Garages, etc. HOWEVER - In order to keep the element of RP (after all that's what we're aiming for) - There must be an employee currently working a shift at that business. This could actually be mirrored through the mechanic shop system where if there is no active employee, they cannot use the script to order any items, prompting there is no employee available. And that's pretty much it. It's straight to the point and I believe a fairly simple system to implement (At least from my point of view, I know programming is a pain in the ass. Lol.) Commands to add: /bpitem [itemid] [itemamount] [pricetoselleachfor] /btitem [itemid] [itemamount] /binv Items to add: Inventory/Stock Management System Order System (When Pressing Y) Possible CEF System Through: "I" > Business > Manage Business > Inventory How would your suggestion improve the server? This will enhance the economy ruled by player markets which can value and devalue common items over time, hence, producing a thriving unique economy which is not governed by static value. it will also increase the urge to roleplay businesses and make sales just like real life due to the competitive nature it can possibly bring within businesses whether it be general goods, specialized goods, etc. Overall, I think it's a great input to the QoL of the server. In addition, this will be a great system for anti-griefing for employees businesses hire - reducing or completely eliminating non-rp actions such as stealing from the business property's inventory.
