  2. Short description: Just as the title states, something simple which can improve the realism behind the tints and thus giving them some meaning other than just cosmetics. While it promotes realism, players will now have the curiosity as one would in real life when someone rolls up with blacked out windows. This also reduces the chance of metagaming, which naturally it's up to the player to judge, but let's look at it from a realistic perspective. Ask yourself... Who's that? Is it a driveby? Is it Jenny from the block? Is that a fugitive trying to avoid the police? Detailed description: I'm suggesting a simple script which determines the opacity of the player's name based on the tint levels. The lower the level (Exception of 0 which is no tints) the more transparent the name will appear. TINT LEVEL | LAW | OPACITY % LEVEL 0 | Legal |100% Opacity (No Tints) LEVEL 3 | Legal | 75% Opacity LEVEL 2 | Illegal | 50% Opacity LEVEL 1 | Illegal | 10% Opacity Keep in mind, I'm not suggesting strictly based on U.S. state laws, only merely suggesting to fit the current server's penal limitations and laws. Any suggestions are welcome, as always! Commands to add: N/A Items to add: Opacity Script How would your suggestion improve the server? 3. THE START OF A NEW ERA FOR THE YEE HING ASSOCIATION | CHAPTER 2 TUESDAY I'd like to mention, on an OOC note - thank you so much to the LSCF for their wonderful roleplay and how well this whole scenario has panned out in the past week! 4. They're all about money and that is the only motivation most people have which is accurate portrayal. If you only know people who limit themselves to that then you're either RPing with extremely low level criminals ICly or with a group of people who can't portray criminals properly. Nothing's stopping you from trying to join people who are involved in thing beyond robbing random people. You take what they own. 1. You can force them to tell you where the money is or give you access to it. 2. I wouldn't mind reviewing requests for vehicles, items and so on if that's the case. If he doesn't have the money then bleed him dry in terms of other assets. You'd obviously have to request it from me and get my approval but beyond that I don't see a reason not to take what's yours by hitting the scammer's assets rather than his pocket(directly).

  7. [DISCRETION WARNING: SOME SCENES MAY BE HARD TO READ DUE TO GRAPHIC VIOLENCE] Leonardo Nervetti, a 47 year old father of two children who is believed to have ties in the Los Santos Crime Family, a prevalent crime family within Los Santos, San Andreas. From a background rooting from Italy, he resides in Los Santos, San Andreas, where he was born and raised, however, he is believed to have many connections in San Andreas including San Fierro and Las Venturas, whether it be through family or friends. Early Life Leonardo was born on the 25th of July 1973 to Carmilla and Lucius “Luca” Nervetti, the eldest of 5 siblings consisting of two sisters and two brother. The family was by no means rich, living on borderline poverty for the majority of his childhood, where he has lived on Covenant Avenue, Davis, South Central Los Santos. His father worked in construction in San Fierro, spending the majority of his time there. His mother worked nights at a coffee shop across the street from the house. Leonardo’s father lack of presence no doubt has a severe impact on Leonardo’s upbringing, the only financial security the family faced was the rent being paid at the end of each month when his father would return from work. With little money for food, and any form of luxury being a distant wish, Leonardo the eldest child and the man of the house, felt responsible to provide for his family, therefore he turned to business; selling and buying candy and soda as an early teenager at school where he made a good amount for his age. He would do this up until he was 16 years old where he began to work at the Coffee Shop across from his house, the owners of the coffee shop eventually recognised Leo as a young entrepreneur, seeing his abilities in business, they started to give him more work, selling off illegally imported cigarettes to stores around the city. He did this for a few years until he was 18 becoming an associate of Abe Caro, one of the owners of the coffee shop bringing him into an earner crew, he started to bring in a lot of money for the family and for himself, he decided to recommend Marcello Nervetti, his little brother, to Abe Caro. Abe brought Marcello under his wing and the brothers started to work together, forming a relationship that would one day turn sour. 8 Months after Leonardo was brought in as an associate into the family, he was shipped out to the Gulf War in 1991, he fought in Baghdad for the remainder of the war, however when the war ended he remained in Iraq fighting the Iraqi NFZ enforcement until 1999 where he returned, meeting his now ex-wife, Viviana. Marriage, Children, and Current state. On the New Years Eve of 1999, Leonardo went out to a Vinewood club with his fellow associates and brother to celebrate the arrival of the millenium and his return from the army, that night he was believed to meet Viviana Nervetti for the first time. His first and only wife, and the mother of his children. They married on the 29th of June 2000, and they had their first child on the 5th of July 2000, Ines Nervetti. One year later, also in July, his son followed, Lucius Nervetti, named after his father. Now with three extra mouths to feed, Leonardo's ambition for success sky rocketed, he started to enduldge into business. He started a massage parlour in Los Santos which was later discovered as a brothel. In 2017, Joey Capril, Abe Caro and 28 other made men of the family where indicted under extortion and racketeering. Joey Capril and Abe Caro faced an extra charge of Conpiricy to commit homicide, after plotting to kill Dave Simmons, a biker from Paleto Bay. This event sparked wide interest in the family, and associates began to be dragged in for questioning regarding their opperations, and the buttoned members they are associated with. In order to skip the limelight, Leonardo left the city with his wife, son and brother sending his daughter to boarding school in Liberty City. The family returned to Los Santos in 2019, Leonardo's brother, Marcello decided to stay in San Fierro, the connections their father had brought Marcello under the wing in the San Fierro Crime Family, Marcello's future plans did not match Leo's, Marcello being a bachelor with too much to lose, security was his best bet. Whereas Leonardo had two children and a wife, settling down in a city where his family has the best opportunity to propser was his main priority. By the time they came back to Los Santos, the brothel had been discovered and the majority of the legitimate cash was seized from the business. It is believed that Leonardo had assets elsewhere, or was using a shell business in the form of a coffee shop to launder money, as on his return he reportedly bought a new house, two new cars, and a car for each his wife, son and daughter. At this point, Leonardo was left with no friends, and no form of income, and that is when he met Thomas "Sunshine" Alo, a buttoned member of the Los Santos Crime Family. He met Thomas whilest sellling his house, Tommy and Leonardo later went into business together, starting a Cigar Lounge "Pipe Down" in Downtown Vinewood. Eventually, Leonardo became an associate of The Los Santos Crime Family through Thomas Alo, during this period Viviana Nervetti left Leonardo due to their consistent domestically absusive relationship that grew to strenous on both Leo and Viviana. Leonardo found this tough, however the prospect of his success, his children, and hew new found friends helped him through the period. As time went on, Leonardo met Peter Conti, a buttoned member, whilest buying a watch at his store, they also went into business, starting another massage parlour out of Peter Conti's warehouse. During this period, Nervetti aquired a pizzeria, he hired Talia Tudor to design, through her he eventually met Grayson Tudor the president of the Sinful Kings MC. They started doing business together and Leonardo eventually entered the weapon traffiking scene. The Del Perro Pizzeria was being used as a primary gateway into laundering the cash gained through Nervetti's illicit deals, which he grew weary of, when Thomas Alo retired from the Los Santos Crime Family, he left the Cigar Lounge; Pipe Down with Leo, this quickly changed the situation, now with an external business, not connected to his name, Leonardo felt much more at ease with his deals, starting to expand. With Peter Conti being the new capo, and the head figure of the only crew within the family, Leonardo watched the family shrink and crumble. On the 19th of July 2019, he made one of the most risky and significant moves he has ever made, he stepped away from the family. His business still prospers, and he still moves nowhere but forward, yet moving forward is only definate whilest checking over his shoulder. Leonardo is now living in Paleto Bay, alongside his business partners and weapon suppliers. He still supplies South Central Los Santos gangs with guns, however the majority of his long-term apperiances occur within Paleto Bay. He plans on starting a cash intensive business in Paleto Bay, a way to filter the weapon money. Leo has taken a different route to the expected, and where he may wish things turned out differently, the future is as bright as the day it was that Thomas Alo brought him under his wing. With more guns coming in and profit increasing, Leonardo has started to look further into the trade, figuring out ways to expand. Wether it means going out of state, or using multiaple suppliers in order to be able to forefill demand in unknown, but Leonardo has been known for his pondering, and wether this is a goal or a halloucination is yet to be seen. Marcello Nervetti and The San Fierro Crime Family. Leonardo and Marcello worked together for the majority of their life, however when Marcello stayed in San Fierro to join the San Fierro Crime Family, Leonardo lost that bond with him, seeing Marcello as a traitor. News spread quickly within the last few months that Marcello had been made within the family, and the possibility of Marcello becoming a CapoRegime was likely. The San Fierro Crime Family saw what has happpened within the criminal underworld of Los Santos, the boss of the Los Santos Crime Family gone into hiding, a significant decline in men within the family, no consigliere, and with the Capo in jail. For them, they see potential, they see a way to grow to the city and expand their business ventures. With that being said, Marcello, one of the highest earners, one of the most loyal members, and one of the wittiest soilders within the family, is expected to be bumped soon to form the crew leading The San Fierro Crime Family's ventures within Los Santos. Regardless of if Marcello comes to Los Santos or not, Leo still sees Marcello as a traitor, and can't rely on him. Vincent Agrusa. Vincent Agrusa is Leonardo's first cousin, his father's brother's son. He is a Caporegime in the Las Venturas Crime Family. As children they had a close bond however have lost primary contact throughout the years. Vincent contacted Leonardo about expansion into Los Santos, this was a huge turn-around for Leonardo, up until this point he was losing hope. After 28 years of being in a crew, Leo finally saw hope again, and the ability to finally have his button. Family means a lot to Leonardo, offering Vincent a place in his home with his children, and offering a piece of his life, the possibilities are endless. [ DEVELOPMENT SHOWN THROUGH SCREENSHOTS ] Leonardo's apperance Leonardo is always seen wearing a 24 karat Rose Gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding on his left wrist, he bought this watch along with a 999 Silver Jesus pendant, and a Platinum ring with a flawless bagette diamond from Peter Conti's jewellery store, Rothstien's. Jewellery isn't the limit to Leonardo's vanity, he distinctivly smells of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Forte, a very expensive bottle of after shave. Leonardo's personality Past Leonardo's vanity, he is a respectful man. He doesn't step out of line without prompt, however if he rubbed the wrong way, his temper shows. Leonardo is extremely hot headed, he is seen yelling more times then not. He is old school, and therefore he doesn't agree with the new wave breaking of steoreotype's, he believes men are men, and men act a certain way. Leonardo, where he may be aggressive and have an extremely short temper, knows his boundries, he knows who and when to get annoyed with. However, apart from this, he is a loving father, compasionate, and he is not scared to reveal his emotion, unless his emotion makes him appear weak. He does not concider expressing his love for his family as a negative, or weakining emotion, instead a human and natural emotion. Gallary: Leonardo with his late little brother, Rocco Nervetti. 9. And which one might that be? Sorry but the identity should be hidden both OOC and IC. It would completely change dynamics if my best friend learned ( OOC or IC ) that I'm robbing them. It would RUIN the shock of finding it IC. Also, I don't want people to know that I am robbing them, whether it's on an IC or OOC level. If they find out OOC they'll treat you as less trustworthy, even if they do so without realising it. Then we might as well make an OOC thread of every robber and criminal player. Why do you support features that make metagaming easier? What benefit is there in the mask showing your actual name? That you know you're talking to Bob and not Mask1331? What's the benefit here?

  12. As odd as Westie’s analogy is, I’m inclined to agree. The traffic bobby got one crucial point there and that is the fact that this is a heavy roleplay server. At the end of the day the nametag is going to be visible regardless and should not be used either way unless the IC stars have aligned and you know their name. While tints do obstruct both the view of the driver and persons outside of the vehicle, that should be roleplayed between the involved parties. Not supporting this but in support of Westie’s blatant advertisement of Tims Tarantulas.

  13. My favourite thing about this server is that police and fire staff are more than just the duty command. It's good to see some actual depth and development put into our first responders, not like I know, but I'm sure a character with a lot of development gives criminals something to think about sometimes when the shit hits the fan. Good luck to your second character! @akari I wish my characters didn't like Akari, I sure as hell don't!

  17. I think it could be feasible if you settle on the idea that there's less female characters and the conditions for them would be different. At first, probably not, but I'd like to see it happen at some point so that there's a separation and bigger realism in prison. One thing that always bugged me on other servers was the lack of separation, it was just unrealistic and goofy.

  19. Good evening, fellow citizens of San Andreas. I, Bawon Jean-Marx Mouri, intend to produce a temple that is dedicated to the Voodoo religion along "Strawberry Avenue" and "Forum Drive". As you have witnessed, criminal activity has run rampant amongst the lower-income populations of Los Santos, often caused by a lack of leadership, authority, positive role models, substance abuse, poverty, and moral spiritual values. We, the members of "The Voodoo House", desire to construct and own this temple as a means towards increasing the standards of living for the average lower-income family. The "House of Voodoo" will not only be formed for ritualistic purposes, as it shall consist of outreach programs that guide the misguided souls towards a prosperous future with countless job opportunities that enhance their leadership within Los Santos. Why resort to investing one's taxes on a prison system that is designed to increase the recidivism rate of criminal offenders, when one could invest in a one-time donation to rehabilitate these negative habits of society? Whether it may be one dollar, one-hundred dollars, one-thousand dollars, or one-million dollars... your donation would be highly appreciated. 21. Many people have misconceptions on how to use language tags, and TODAY I will help u understand how to properly use them and what is good and what isn't, which can make your "foreign language roleplay" look much better with a few simple steps. Remember! When using language tags, it is important to fully understand how to use them dur To begin, I would recommend that you always write out the full name of the language that you're speaking (i.e don't put [SPA] for Spanish, write out [Spanish] or [RUS] instead of [Russian]), while it may seem more of a hassle to do this, you could easily just copy it and then paste it every single time rather than having to write it out every single time as it may seem like its more to type, but in the end, this effects how you're portrayed in RP scenarios, and if you put forward that extra effort into doing it properly It is also very important to remember when and how to use language tags, and that you're not supposed to use them while speaking that language, for example: You're not allowed to do "[Spanish] hi wats up ESE" as ese is a Spanish word, so it wouldn't be using language tags as you're speaking the language within the language tags which are originally supposed to translate it from English to whatever language you wish. As an alternative, you would use "[Spanish] hi wats up bro" but end up getting the same result because Ese means "bro" in English. Just make sure you never speak a foreign language within language tags or even use any phrases if you're saying it with language tags. Also, a very common mistake is people making sounds in "foreign languages" as you cannot make a sound in a different language, its the same sound, if you 'say' "Hmm" in English, it would still be "Hmm" in any language, whether it'd be Swahili or French, while it may seem common sense to not do this, it is a common mistake seen everywhere. Exceptions for this could be made such as if you're doing it mid-sentence or just writing after it, (por ejemplo: "[Italian] Hmm, Give me a pepperoni pizza") This is a small yet very important list which could help you look much better as a roleplayer.. while roleplaying. If you have any additional suggestions for the guide, feel free to post them below and i'll add them!

  23. Short description: Add, if there is any, graffiti animations. Detailed description: I recently came across this video on youtube about the monkey mosaic's on GTA 5, now if you find them all it'll trigger a random event where you'll see a dude spraying graffiti on a wall. My idea was to implement it, if possible into the server so it adds a new thing to roleplay. Commands to add: Maybe something like /graffiti that'll pop up a menu which makes you able to write something that'll be sprayed onto the wall. ( It was done on Los Santos RolePlay, no idea if it can work on GTAW. Items to add: Spraycan. How would your suggestion improve the server? It adds something new for people to roleplay for both people that want to roleplay something illegal but not drastically illegal and it would add a variation of roleplay for the law enforcement instead of just the same old stuff. Additional information: The video I was talking about: Click me.

  24. DISCLAIMER. This is general legal information. The law of contracts and other areas that are related to auctions is in its infancy and largely underdeveloped in San Andreas. You may rely on the information to decide whether to seek specific legal advice from a bar practitioner; but you must not rely on this general advice otherwise. Your situation must be examined independently and for that you are encouraged to seek legal advice specific to your situation. This advice is general and not suitable for use in court. You have been warned. If you proceed further, you agree to release the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG) and its contributors from any liability arising from the use of this general advice. "Auction" = a sale by competitive bidding. "Auctioneer" = someone who sells something on behalf of another (the seller) by competitive bidding. "Agent" = same as auctioneer, but it can also be a representative who makes a purchase on behalf of a buyer. "Principal" = the seller who retained the auctioneer, or the buyer who appointed a representative. GENERAL TIPS AND ADVICE FOR BUYERS How does an auction work legally? In an auction, like all contracts, the transaction happens like so: offer + acceptance + consideration + performance. An offer is made and communicated; the acceptance is then communicated as well. Once accepted, in the context of an auction, the accepted offer creates a binding contract and there is performance by deliverance of the property. The consideration, in the context of an auction, is the payment of an agreed amount in exchange for the property; this is typically paid out before delivery. What is an offer in the context of auctions? In answering this question, it is helpful to remind that a seller’s (or auctioneer’s) advertisement of a starting bid is not an offer. It is only an invitation. It is, thus, not amenable to be accepted. The offer is the buyer’s bid, which the auctioneer or seller accepts by communicating the acceptance (as seen below) When is a contract formed? In basic terms, the contract is formed once the seller (or the auctioneer acting on behalf of a seller) accepts a buyer’s offer. In a formal auction, this is occurs when the hammer falls. However, on the online marketplace, it is when the seller or auctioneer communicates the acceptance to you -- it can be online or by any other reasonable means. There are rules for communication of the acceptance. Can the seller or auctioneer use friends or associates to prop-up the price? No. Again, because San Andrean law is underdeveloped, the “no” is actually less definitive than it sounds. Generally, however, the law will only give effect to legitimate bids. So, neither the seller nor the auctioneer may invite illegitimate bidders to boost the price. This is complicated and tends to be difficult to prove. A seller may, according to the law of restitution, may be liable to a reversal of his/her gain even if he or she is unaware of the auctioneer’s misconduct in injecting illegitimate bidders. The standard which the court will try to arrive at is ‘fair market price;’ this will be used to calculate the amount of the restitution to be paid. Because this is a complex area of law, you are encouraged to seek legal advice if you suspect it applies to your situation. Can the seller or auctioneer withdraw from the sale after he or she has accepted? What happens if it is withdrawn? No. The seller’s advertised sale can only be withdrawn before the communication of the acceptance of your offer; once it is accepted, it cannot be withdrawn. Similarly, you (as the buyer) can withdraw your offer at any time before the auctioneer or seller accepts it. If it is withdrawn after acceptance, you may have a claim for breach of contract. You can, among other things, ask the court to order the auctioneer to perform the sale. If it would be impossible to perform the sale at no fault of either party, the seller or auctioneer may have a defence called “frustration;” in which case the court would resolve that the contract is frustrated and release both sides from it. Failing to meet an expected number of bidders will probably not suffice to frustrate the contract. If performance is impossible at the fault of the seller or auctioneer, then a breach is likely and the court will consider other damages, such as loss of chance. Damages is a significant area of law. For this reason, you are encouraged to seek legal advice on damages. If the sale is withdrawn before the acceptance, then nothing of legal significance occurs because there is no contract without communication of the acceptance. So, the seller or auctioneer can withdraw the sale so that he/she may arrange for another auction or to sell an individual who is not a participant in the auction, but only if your offer was not accepted. What happens if someone tries to auction something which he or she does not own, and I paid only to find out that it was not his/hers or that he/she was not authorized to sell by the owner? The actual owner may bring a complaint for what is called “conversion”; as for you, you may bring a complaint against the auctioneer/agent under contract law for misrepresentation; i.e. that the auctioneer misrepresented either having good title, ownership or authority to sell. This type of misrepresentation is consent-vitiating; this means it is capable of “erasing” your consent to the trade. What if the seller or auctioneer has sold me something not as advertised? This is, generally, a misrepresentation. If the seller misrepresented the nature of the thing which he puts for sale or authorizes an auctioneer to put for sale, then you may have a claim against the seller; but if the auctioneer mistakenly misrepresents what the seller has told him, it is unclear if the seller is also liable for misrepresentation. In any event, you may have a claim for negligent misstatement against the auctioneer. The negligence claim, however, is under the law of torts and not contracts, so the court won’t void the transaction; for this, you would need to claim consent-vitiating misrepresentation against the auctioneer if the seller is unknown, or against the seller if known. For the negligence claim, the question of what damages (or relief) is available to you can be complicated. You are encouraged to seek legal advice regarding damages for a claim in negligence against the auctioneer. Can a seller or auctioneer sue me (a buyer)? Of course. They can, among other things, sue if you make an offer, which they accept, and then you refuse to follow through. Only submit a bid if you are prepared to follow through with it after you receive communication of the acceptance. Can an auctioneer act for a seller who remains anonymous, and not tell me who the seller is? What if I want to sue? Yes. As with every other question, there is no law in San Andreas on this question, but the general position across Anglo-American jurisdictions is that the seller need not be disclosed. However, if the auctioneer does not disclose who the seller is, he/she is personally liable even for breaches which are typically attributed to the seller. The reason is that it is assumed that a buyer will not contract with someone who is unknown (or anonymous) unless the auctioneer acting on behalf of that unknown seller makes himself or herself personally liable. So, for example, if an anonymous seller makes a misrepresentation and conveys this to an oblivious auctioneer, normally you would have a claim against the seller; but if the auctioneer does not disclose the seller’s identity, your complaint is against the auctioneer who must accept being liable. If a seller insists on being an anonymous and the auctioneer does not want to accept the legal consequence of the seller’s anonymity, the auctioneer can refuse to provide his service to the seller. Any auctioneer who gives effect to anonymity must be prepared to accept liability for a seller in breach of contract. Can an auctioneer charge the buyer extra to make a profit from the sale? No, but as a buyer, it is unclear whether you can recover. Typically, this is an issue affecting the principal (the seller) who hired or retained the auctioneer. Under the law of fiduciaries (trust), because an agent (auctioneer) holds the property of the seller in trust, any money which he/she generates is also held in trust and must be given to the seller/principal; so even if the auctioneer were able to generate five times over the starting bid on the sale, no amount of that can be withheld by the auctioneer as commission or a profit. Only where the principal (seller) has consented to paying a commission can the auctioneer make a profit. An auctioneer should not be charging you (the buyer) a fee as commission on top of the agreed price. ADVICE FOR SELLERS Do I have to use an agent/auctioneer? No. You can sell your own property by auctioning it yourself. You are not required to hire or retain an auctioneer. However, all the usual formalities of contract still apply even where you sell directly instead of through an agent or auctioneer. If I use an auctioneer, how do I guarantee that they will act in good faith and not rip me off? First, auctioneers owe you what are called fiduciaries duties. They include a duty to account (account for any money they receive and produce it at your request); duty to avoid a conflict of interest created by bidding for a buyer; and duty to avoid a conflict of interest created by purchasing the property for himself or herself. If these duties are breached, you may have grounds to bring a complaint. You are encouraged to seek legal advice if you suspect an auctioneer was in breach of any of those duties. Second, find an auctioneer you can trust. Also, if he/she causes a loss from the sale owing to some lack of competency and/or knowledge, or if she/she makes a misstatement as to the condition of the property put for sale, you may be able to recover. You should seek legal advice if you suspect an auctioneer’s performance fell below the standard of the ordinary competency of an auctioneer. How do I make sure the auctioneer does not sell below the amount for which I’m willing to sell? Use a reserve price (this is not the same as a “starting bid;” a starting bid is the minimum bidders must offer, but a reserve price is the minimum which you as a seller are willing to accept). While an auctioneer whom you have authorized has implied authority to accept offers and take payments on your behalf, they do not have the authority to sell below a reserve price. Are there any special rules for authorizing an auctioneer when I hire/retain one? No. A lot of the authority of an auctioneer is implied, but if there are particular things unique to your arrangement, such as paying a percentage of the proceeds as profit or commission, those should be documented in writing. You should also document if there is a reserve price. ADVICE FOR AGENTS AND AUCTIONEERS The seller and I did not agree on a commission before undertaking the sale, but I spent my own money to make the sale happen (e.g. purchased upgrades, or another e.g., incurred expenses such as gas); is there anything I can do? Yes. You should first try to resolve this without a complaint; ask if the seller is willing to pay you. However, you may have a claim in restitution by way of unjust enrichment. This is a complicated area and you are encouraged to seek legal advice in this area before pursuing a complaint. The seller and I agreed on a commission or remuneration, but the seller has not yet paid me; what can I do other than go to court? If you have not been paid, you may withhold any property or payments in your possession until the seller has paid you. This is called a lien and is permissible at law. A lien attaches to the money you receive from a buyer; you are entitled to withhold it until you are paid. If you have already given the seller their money generated from the sale, of course this becomes difficult if not impossible; but if you did not make an agreement to be paid, you do not have a lien and withholding the seller's money puts you in breach of a fiduciary duty (a civil issue) and could see you with a charge for theft (criminal issue). You can always consult a lawyer before withholding money to make sure you have a lien. AGREEMENTS IN GENERAL A prospective buyer made an offer by e-mail and sent me the terms of their purchase; I subsequently replied to accept and asked the buyer / offeror if they had someone to draft a document. They relied “No need; our e-mail is proof of the existence of an agreement.” Is this true? Yes. A written agreement is one which has permanency. Permanency is what distinguishes an oral agreement from a written agreement. Because an e-mail has permanency, unlike a verbal exchange, it is binding as long as there was an objective intention to enter into legal relations / create enforceable obligations. Agreements can even be written on napkins and greeting cards! A more common example is a receipt slip for proof of purchase; these receipts are proof of an agreement (an agreement for the sale of goods or a service). You do not need a specially-formatted document — a receipt printed in any format, or e-mail containing terms laid out in any manner, will be binding if there was an intention to enter into legal relations. For this reason, if you seriously intend to make a property sale, make sure you do not communicate anything by e-mail which you don’t intend to be binding. IMPORTANT This general legal information will periodically change. There will be updates to this after the enactment of new formalities or after relevant judicial rulings. Reforms should be expected soon, but not often.

  26. This is a heavy roleplay server. People should not be metagaming based off nametags. As a cop, I'm stopping a car for tints regardless whether it's Mrs Miggins on her way back from Tim's Tarantulas with her weekly bag of dog food, or whether it's the second reincarnation of Hitler living in Forum Drive.
