  1. Hi there, First and foremost I would like to say I understand the amount of work the property team is under as I had the pleasure of peeking into the inner workings during my short stint as a Supporter in November of 2018. I should also state that I do not know the FULL extent of the property inactivity system, but I am under the impression it is now automatic. I would like to add I am also an advocate FOR the property inactivity system and I am happy it is in place. However there is some much needed backend to this system as it is currently very punishing for players who get hit by the inactivity. I for one was affected by the inactivity in February and it was more or less killed my drive to roleplay with the affected character as it is very hard to justify (ICly) how you randomly lost all of your assets in the one month period. Some ideas that I believe would alleviate much of the frustrations of the receiving parties of the system would be the following. Refund at Market Price: The system as it stands currently strips the property away from the inactive player and leaves them with nothing to show for it. I feel as if this system is more hurtful and helpful as money in-game is more or less hard to come by, and losing a property worth at least $100,000 in-game is a hard thing to recover. This will drive people to either leave the server, or to idly grind money and ignore proper roleplay as in most cases, players will put their money into properties and vehicles. Losing 1/2 of their investments is surely something to frustrate players and I believe the ideal scenario would be to simply refund the property at it's market value. This way it's non-arguable what the amount will be and the logs won't need to be scoured through, other than to show that the person did in-fact own the property prior to the inactivity purge. Again - I have limited knowledge on how the coding and system actually works, but from my understanding the property gets exchanged from the player to the "Property Management team," at least this was the case for my business property I had owned. If this was the case, it would just need to be confirmed when the date of exchange happened between the two accounts. A time limit can be set for this to promote players to active, and this could be based off the date. Warning messages: Currently the system comes at a complete shock. To my knowledge there is not a single notification of this happening and I wasn't able to find anything on the forums to suggest the rules that are set out by the system to follow. It can be argued that the player shouldn't get a warning and they should be accountable for their own activity, which I can understand. However the goal of the system shouldn't be to punish the inactive players, but to keep properties open for active players to further their roleplay. That being said, a simple message could bring a player back into it, especially if they get preoccupied on other characters OR with real life events. Something like this would definitely be an appreciated feature, especially for some of the earlier property inactivities as I don't believe there was any update or documentation in the game change log stating that this will be in effect. Of course an ignorant suggestion could be for a UCP account to auto send a private message to the associated forum account of the UCP member, or for a message to appear when you log into an alternate character that the inactive character has "x" amount of time before assets may be refunded/taken. Request processing: Obviously "refunds," of this magnitude would require a lot of processing, and I understand that. I believe the refund request format right now would suffice for processing requests of this nature, and that an ample amount of time would be expected to investigate and ensure that the properties were in-fact taken out of a player's ownership. From my understanding, there is logs but they are difficult to navigate due to being processed on an external application, however it is possible to seek the time if parameters were needed to show what date range the inactivity fell between. Another solution that could be used for this is an, "incident ID," being generated when a property falls inactive, as it is very much an unique event. This information could be uploaded to the UCP of the former owner at one point, and could allow for simpler processing of said requests as the property staff would be able to filter said ID into the external application, and be able to find the date and property information (hopefully) of the property in question. An example would be the following: Properties: 1017 Forum Drive (Inactivity: PA547821) Using a long string code like the example given would allow it to be unique enough for the Property Staff to be able to easily find this information in the logs, and it can be randomly assigned from the available codes not used. Final thoughts: My apologies to Pascal as I have been asking about the status of such a system for weeks and have been bugging him about it. I just want to make it clear I'm not trying to undermine anyone in Property Staff as it is very clear they are working hard on other projects, (e.g. multi-interior properties, etc). I am just worried that leaving something like this and not actioning it can cause issues in the future, if for whatever reason the logs were to be lost. I truly believe that something of this nature should be very much considered as the property inactivity system, as it stands is very punishing and although it does accomplish the goal of freeing up properties for the populous, it does feel very much empty on the other end of things as the players will just lose everything, currently without any notice of this happening. If I were to have it my way, I would see an interim request process being in place, as the general concern I have heard from Property Staff members is that the logs listed for the property transactions are difficult to filter through, however it does seem possible to complete. I encourage thoughts or suggestions adding onto this system, and would appreciate any feedback. ?

  2. A rustically themed nightclub based in the town of Paleto Bay, on the northern coast of Blaine County, newly opened and renovated. We boast a drinks menu to suit all tastes and a dedicated radio station, HEN HOUSE FM (Station 69) which plays a mix of classic rock and country music. With plenty of seating and a fully lit dancefloor, DJ booth and dance podiums, the fun never ends. Whether it's boot scooting, line dancing, rocking out or simply drinking the day and night away, expect fantastic company. On staff are our Hens; uniformed waitresses who'll be sure to keep the party going! Nothing is too much trouble so just ask. What are you waiting for? We're looking forward to seeing you!

  4. I agree with this 100 percent and would like to add a bit of context (bullet points). I also think that by extending the range a bit, especially while mobile, this would reduce the likelihood of lag ramming a vehicle in front of us as we need to be so close to get a plate reading. It's like one dog chasing another while ramming their snout up the other dog's asshole. Technically effective but disgusting and unnecessary. It also just looks stupid. ICly ALPR is only on traffic division vehicles. These take up 1-3 active patrol vehicles on average per my own patrols out of the total at any given time. OOCly ALPR is only on Police3 cruisers and not on Police1, Police2, or the police motorcycle, even if those vehicles are in the traffic division and have ALPR ICly. ALPR does not show things like whether someone is driving on a suspended license or even if the vehicle was reported stolen. IRL variant does this automatically based on (in my state) database information provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles, FDLE, or NCIC. Current ALPR usage is extremely limited in scope. Since the road tax change, we can see who is insured. The rest of the information obtained is generic. IRL ALPR can capture vehicle plates at up to 160 MPH. This may vary slightly between ALPR systems depending upon who made them. IRL ALPR can capture 3,600 images per minute. In-game ALPR can capture and look up 1 plate at a time and takes longer to produce a result than the IRL equivalent. Also, I have not even had the success I've seen in @Connor's video capturing plates. I will post some screens myself later on this. I agree that ALPR in-game does not need to be exactly as effective as it is in real life. The real life variant is over powered. It can capture license plates from vehicles going the opposite direction on the interstate at 75+ miles per hour and it can run the plates of numerous vehicles at the same time. It's basically like a giant drag net for law enforcement on the road. This is from almost 9 years ago but has some solid information. The music in the background is annoying but I didn't make it and if you have a better one post it.

  5. Akari is a blunt, headstrong Asian-American woman with an unchecked mental disorder and a chainsmoking problem. Originally born in the ghettos of Osaka, she immigrated in her early adulthood to escape prejudice and discrimination in her home city. Now nearing her 30s, she's comfortably settled down in a new continent. While initially coming off as benevolent and caring, anyone who gets comfortable with her can quickly realize she has a well-kept strategy of sweet-talking others to get what she wants from them. The closer of a relationship someone gets with her, the more harsh, apathetic, and controlling she'll become. Overall, her priority is garnering complete control over her social circles and those who she deems "beneath" her. This comes with a catch, though; she's also rather easily intimidated and can easily be power-played into submission. As such, she primarily preys on the shy and naive - those who don't know how to defend themselves, verbally or physically. On the occasion that she does truly care about someone, it becomes incredibly difficult for her to show it. Instead, she prefers to push people away if she notices herself getting too attached. (Psst! Click me! I'm a character playlist!)

  6. GTA V is such a pretty game so it's not surprising to see a few people roleplaying professional/casual photographers. Do you RP a photographer in any capacity? If you do then what do you like most about it, what do you find challenging, what would make it better etc? If you don't then why not - is it just because it doesn't interest you or do you think that it's just not viable currently? Tell me more pls (it's all for a good reason I promise!) ?

  8. I'm Russell Tobias in game, who runs RT Photography. I initially bought the camera just for fun, until I really started getting serious with it. It has allowed for some pretty nice RP, as my character was just taking pictures of his friends on the side, until another photographer @Charlotte Mayfair taught him how to level up his photography. Now it is my primary business in game, and people pay good money that I don't even have to work another job. What's difficult is the animations being so clunky, really. The camera doesn't move too, so you have to lay down on the floor for different angles and such. This makes most of my RP in photo shoots in /b telling people what to do lol. What's hard is the lack of appreciation for the photos, in the beginning I had to shoot for free just to build my portfolio, and then I only charged 800, which was literally NOTHING. But using FB it really brought a lot of attention, and I increased my prices. It allowed for me to meet a lot of people in the server, and it's gotten to the point where people recognize me from FB in game. It's a really niche part of the server, and I'm glad to fulfill it. 9. That is a fair suggestion, however, creating further processes for the staff (who have a heavy and stressful workload atm) to be drafting and then later on enforcing would only create more of a backlog in other departments which later on down the line causes frustration from both staff members and the players. This is all preventable by players just simply not going inactive with properties in their possession and selflessly selling them to other players pre-departure or even back to the market if they can't shift it. It'll create a fluid economy around housing if it's kept as IC as possible rather than the staff having to intervene to take the properties back from players. That's why systems are here like this, to assist staff in revoking these dormant properties from players that have just fell off the activity map. It's a dog eat dog world and unfortunately inactive dogs get eaten.

  10. I agree the system should be changed, especially the hot-wiring process, a percentage of success that is given to the hot-wiring script is too easy, and really makes car stealing such an easy thing. Maybe adding some kind of a quiz or something to make the process of it harder, this will also give the owner more chance to react while an alarm is going off (which currently is the main problem). We basically solved 2 problems at once.

  11. This, unfortunately. Amongst several other issues. A fresh start over here looks far more promising than LSRP’s future.

  12. We really need an option for other business members being able to spawn in business vehicles or spawn them in automatically or anything similar. For example, currently our business owner is unable to login (or access computer(s) at all) for the next 10 days, thus thanks to the server restarts all our trucks aren't spawned in and we won't be able to do anything in our business for that time thanks to this cause we are a trucking business :S

  14. I used to run around rp'ing with the camera quite a bit as my character's hobby, climbing all kinds of buildings to play around with the shots. Sometimes even using the sitting animations that make you float a little bit off the ground so it looks like you held the camera up. Telling the other person to move just slightly, or angle around to fix the lighting on their face.. I'd set the resolution to 4k in game and make my computer cry as I obsessively hit F12 or spam-clicked the camera to try to find the PERFECT moment that the other character actually looked at me. & A few times my character looked like a crazy person, sprinting off to find a building with a ladder or staircase to climb, because the city looked pretty/weird due to some odd weather change (click & click) Due to some of the limitations, I've been using Menyoo+Rockstar editor a lot more lately, though. If RageMP ever enables Rockstar editor again, it'll be a million times easier again.

  16. Could those who are just posting +1 and little else please be a little more descriptive as to why you support the suggestion? Posting +1 doesn't help anyone. The more detailed feedback we have the easier it is for us. That said I think changes to the alarm/breakin system could definitely be beneficial if it's proving too easy and the community (from initial feedback at least) is in favour of it. I'll leave this open for now for a little more feedback.

  17. Photography was a natural development for my current character, who was always very paranoid, curious, and always looking around for danger. So all of my early IC camera use was to take advantage of the zoom feature and take photographs of suspicious people/vehicles. Later on I started getting more expressive/creative: It has been very useful ICly and OOCly to get me to see Los Santos in a new way. I can spend hours in just one neighbourhood, enjoying the way the light changes, the way the fog alters the landscape, the way new angles create new perspectives. I think /camera is a great addition to the server. But my previous character was very impulsive and probably would not think to use a camera. For me it is all about how my current character literally views the world.

  19. I like this suggestion as the chat becomes quite crowded with ads anyway during peak times. I don't think a queue is the right way to go about it though, because with the amount of ads that get posted, you'll end up with a massive backlog. And most of the times ads are about current events, and you don't want your ad that's in the queue being posted hour(s) later as it may be redundant at that time. A new ad system could be developed however. Maybe the notification system just above the mini-map could be used to do this. These could show the 150 characters at the smaller font size causing minimal HUD disruption and fade away after a number of seconds. Different colours and icons could be used to differentiate between ADs, BADs and CADs. It would also be neat if companies & businesses could set an icon with their logo via forum submission. An 'Advertisements' section in the inventory UI could allow you to see past ads if you missed them. As well as making the chat sizeable, this would reduce ad congestion in the chat and clean up the HUD a bit more.
