Name: Apollo Age: 5 Years Old Breed: Dutch Shepherd Specialization: Narcotics Trained Language: German Status: Retired Samantha Eilidh McGill was born on a rainy, August day. Her mother Mhairi was a nurse in the local hospital, as her father Robert trained as a police constable within the Strathclyde Police Department as did his father before him. Robert was always interested in the narcotics field and Sam's parents decided they had decided to emigrate the family to Liberty City in the USA to seek a career in the LCPD. Sam was born a year later. This is where Sam grew up and her brother James was born within three years. The family managing to gain a green card status and eventually full citizenship. Her mother continued her career working in the local hospital once and her father finally landing his dream job within the LCPD Narcotics Division. However tension grew in the family, and her father’s long hours and stressful position had left him bitter and a strain on the perfect family ideal. He turned to drink, abusive and it was a matter of a few months that her mother had started divorce proceedings that would never chance to finalize. It was not long after Sam’s fifth birthday and while her mother was getting her ready for bed a knock on the door echoed around the house. Her mother opened to the door to two young Officers and after one sombre sentence, Sam witnessed her break down and cry. Her mother was never the same again from that point. Her father had intel on a huge narcotics deal that had been traced all the way from the docks and Mexico. After finalizing the operation with a team of tactical officers, Robert was about to break a huge case but it would seem to leak from within the department had the men aware and ultimately on the night, Robert was shot in the line of fire and killed instantly. Her mother’s grief had grown to consume her, she failed to turn up for work and became clinically depressed and by the time Sam was six, she and her younger brother was in and out of care for the majority of their lives. However, this never stopped her. She progressed through school pretty well, she kept her head down, getting fairly good grades and graduating from high school with a score that a majority of parents would be proud of. LCU was her college of choice, choosing a major in criminology. However, Blue blood seemingly ran true and although with much protest from her mother, she proceeded to join the Liberty City Police Department not long after graduation. Sam was pretty driven and although it was tough, she loved her new role. She trained hard and after a few years was finally accepted into the K-9 handler training program. This was never enough for a mother and their fractured relationship was strained by the constant reminder of her father. Therefore, not long after her brother left for Dubai, Sam packed up her things and accepted a lateral transfer into the Los Santos Police Department, to continue her training and eventual get to where she is today.

  3. Jamestown Mafia (JTM) is a greenlit Latino street gang, claiming Rancho in South LS. The fiercely protective gang is deeply rooted in this low-income neighborhood, known for its Sureno heritage and gang history dating back to the 1960s. Infamously, it is one of the most recent Sureno gangs from Rancho to be greenlit by the Mexican Mafia, making it an outlaw among outlaws. The gang is a family for those without one, valuing community and the protection of Rancho. Un-inked locals who respect JTM are treated with respect in turn and looked after. They support local businesses, as it's in their interest to bring traffic to the area. Some are forced into the gang lifestyle because they have no other option, or they're born into it, whereas other locals seek to prove themselves to the gang for money, so they can feel safe, or because they want to be part of something. Jamestown Mafia's main source of income is drug dealing, however, members have been linked to armed robberies, arms dealing, assault, burglary, prostitution, larceny, and motor vehicle theft and in some cases homicide. Jamestown Mafia 41 After a collapse of Sureno power, a group of Rancho teenagers was left to fend for themselves with no guidance from older generations. The group started as a clique of small-time hustlers, claiming 'Jamestown Mafia 41' for Jamestown Street and the number 41 Rancho housing project. They wanted to make a quick buck, at first not caring about race or tradition. Soon locals started repping JTM 41 in ink to make a name for themselves and step out of the shadows of previous sets. Jamestown Mafia X3 As profits and police attention increased dramatically, the gang decided to organize itself under a single shot-caller and integrate nearby cliques, becoming the uncontested power in Rancho. After defending their turf from rivals and surviving a prolonged conflict with white gangs, JTM re-established Rancho's relationship with the Mexican Mafia prison gang, becoming one of the most prominent Sureno powers in Los Santos for it's time. Many locals celebrated this return to tradition, remembering how older family members (many now incarcerated) had proudly repped the 13 and the Southside. Tattoos and tags were changed to reflect this, tax was kicked up to "La Eme" in return for protection in prison, and JTM's membership was restricted to Latinos. A few members who weren't Latino stayed, but never received "X3" ink nor the benefits of protection within prison. When JTM's shot-caller was incarcerated, the Mexican Mafia sent a replacement with roots in the community, ensuring profits continued and taxes flowed upstate. This interim shot-caller took the gang in a more efficient and ruthless direction until his assassination by a disaffected member. But thanks to his reorganization, the set stayed strong until the release of the original shot-caller. Luz Verde Rancho By the summer of 2019, JTM X3 was proud to be the oldest active Sureno gangs in Los Santos, steadily kicking up their dues to the Mexican Mafia, proving to be a stable and prime source of la Eme's illicit tax revenue. JTM stayed while other gangs formed and crumbled. But something changed upstate and Rancho's tax collector disappeared. La Eme sent new representatives with a new approach. One night, during an assassination attempt and massive police operation, the new Mexican Mafia representatives made a series of appearances in Rancho. Rumors around South LS say JTM members felt these visits were dangerous and disrespectful, because la Eme was trying to conduct business in full view of enemies, police, and seemed unaware of their taxpayer (JTM's shot-caller) falling into a bloody coma on the sidewalk nearby. Regardless of what really happened that night, the Mexican Mafia gave other Surenos the "green light" to attack JTM in the streets and in prison. After a series of massacres, Rancho came together in church pews and on the streets. In this Rancho, community, and family meant more than the cold practicality of surrender, so JTM dropped the 13 from its name and prepared for life as the largest green light gang in the city. NOTE: The faction's history is 100% IC, everything from the gang's formation to the present green light status has been RPed in GTAW. Information: Jamestown Mafia is the current gang that stakes claim to the Rancho housing projects and Jamestown Street. While our key focus is development, we aim to portray many aspects of life in and around the lower-income area of Los Santos, from locals portraying the day to day struggles of living in the hood, to gang affiliates hustling and everything in between, and our latest development, the struggles of a green light gang in South LS. Not all members of the faction are gang members, some are simply just locals from the area. Our main goal is to provide illegal roleplay, neighborhood roleplay, and bring activity to South LS, mainly in Rancho. Jamestown Mafia is a fictional gang which is not based on any specific real-world gang, however, we take a lot of inspiration from various predominantly Latino, and west coast gangs and their culture. If you wish to post RP screenshots, then please PM me for permission. Recruitment is done entirely in-character. If you're interested in joining the faction and you're unsure where or how to get started, then I recommend PMing me here on the forums or on discord (Dashing#6097), and give a brief rundown of the character concept you intend to play just so we can make sure they'll fit in right with the faction and possibly offer tips on the concept. Members of the faction are held to a high standard throughout their time roleplaying with us, so it's important to get your character right from the start. If you wish to join the gang and get more involved with illegal activities then your best approach would be to roleplay as an upcoming Latino from the neighborhood, somewhere between 14-16 would be the ideal age and you may age up your character in time as you develop. Other types of characters are welcome but don't expect to be getting involved with any of the illegal activities if you're RPing as an older person. Feel free to hit me up via forum PM, or Discord PM if you need any help or just want to give a heads up that you’re gonna swing by on a character. You can also send a PM with any concerns, criticism or suggestions about the faction. CK agreement: Faction leaders hold the right to character kill your character if they see fit. Upon joining the faction you hand over the right for your character to be character killed if the situation arises. Faction character kills can only be decided upon by the faction leaders.

  5. The speed limiter & the cruise control feature are two completely different things. While the speed limiter helps you maintain a fixed speed so you do not go over the limit you've set - the cruise control supports automatic acceleration & driving without the need to hit the gas pedal (or press 'W' in-game). You will still need to manually steer with both options. Just felt the need to clear that up as it seems many confuse these two features with each other!

  8. It is also worth of mentioning that such a system to determine which businesses and open / closed was already suggested by @Atiku & forwarded.

  9. Alright that sounds good. It would be nice if more community members could give their feedback regarding the suggestion before deciding what to do with it.

  10. To be honest I was already considering suggesting this back in the day, but somehow it slipped out of my mind. The city currently lacks motels / hotels and I know for a fact at least some players would like to have this kind of roleplay. God, I miss Jefferson motel.

  12. I don't think it should snow. For me its less so about the unlikelyhood due to the geographical location of San Andreas that it would snow and more about people not really rping it properly or if people do rp it properly, it will effectively kill any RP that you can do outside of interiors. Idk about y'all but when its cold and snowing, I'm taking my happy self inside and I'm staying put in there unless I have to leave. We already have an issue of its hard to keep people out of interiors outside of events being hosted.

  13. Yes.. I want snow with the other 68 people. The reason being is because this is a game and weather can be roleplayed very easily, hence the name roleplay. We're already playing as fake characters in a whole new dimension, so why not have snow to bring another level of RP and make Christmas feel more Christmasy in a game we can enjoy together.

  16. I mean, if people were as switched on with the server as they think they are, they’d for sure as Hell know we don’t roleplay Los Santos as Los Angeles or California. I have no idea where that even came from and where it continues to be stupidly recited. I’d like to see where a member of staff has been adamant that we roleplay LS as LA. We roleplay LS as being a city on the West Coast of America and we roleplay the weather accordingly with the hottest parts of the West Coast (before anything decides to link me to the snow in Washington) I think it’s wildly ignorant to assume that Christmas needs snow to be Christmassy and like I’ve said multiple times, it’s interesting to see who understands heavy roleplay properly here and who actually treats the server like a playground for fun. Nobody said roleplay isn’t or can’t be fun. Do it properly and it can be fun. “How do I do it properly?” You may ask... and I’d reply by saying: “Research your faction concepts, your character concepts and act accordingly with the concept you have created within a realistic boundary.” But hey, I’m just a small minority of the server that understands that continuity is essential to keep our high standards at its highest.

  17. the mindset of "everything must be 100% accurate and portrayed in perfect realism or else it's invalid" is a good way to take a roleplay server and just rip all the fun right out of it

  19. The entire 911 system as it is needs a revamp because it isn't fit for purpose anymore (except for the 911 map, that's class). Realistically, 911 calls would not be able to be picked up by anyone unless they have a direct line into the telephone network, and it would be encrypted to all hell so you wouldn't be able to pick up on calls for data protection reasons. With respect to hearing the actual transmission, that's fine as it's sanitized (and some frequencies aren't encrypted in the US, but definitely not in the UK!) but at the end of the day this is a game and some sort of arbitrary line needs to be drawn in the sand as to what we can and can't do. I think at the end of the day, 911 calls should only be received when: - You are on duty (pduty, fduty) - Your radio is on, or you're in a police vehicle. What I also did think of was a Discord bot for the appropriate servers (PD, FD) that would print the relevant 911 calls to a channel for a log of all calls. This would require a rework of the 911 script but I think that's on the books anyway. If people are worried about there not being anyone to handle calls whilst you're off duty, then perhaps don't go off duty. I understand that it is selfish but at the end of the day you joined the faction to perform that role - shifting responsibility onto other people for not being on duty to accept it isn't fair on them either.

  20. I believe the official status for factions has been playing an important role in this particular server and any other GTA roleplay community I have ever been a part of. It was not only encouraging faction leaders and members to provide an outstanding roleplay experience for the whole server, but was also offering a hope for affection and recognition server-wide upon achieving the official status. The perks that came with this status were a good incentive as well, so by the end of the day everyone was happy. Now I am all up for new ideas regarding this subject, but on the same hand I am also interested to hear what is planned to be done in order to encourage players to roleplay in a faction and contribute towards its success. While the official status should not be the end goal it most often is so a proper replacement needs to be thought of.

  23. If you think it breaks immersion for it to snow for a week in December when it snows literally every time the admins all sign out for up to hours I don't know what breaking immersion is. Yes. Why is there no vote with comments disabled.
