MartosG
I'm curious what people think about how radios are used, from non-law enforcement, casual people. I've noticed some people using it casually to hang out, and it bothers me. You don't see people walking around with radios in their hand so they can chat with their buddies in a group. To some extent I understand businesses such as nightclubs, casinos, using them, but even those bother me personally. People will just argue it is possible, therefore acceptable, but I think that's a dumb argument. Perhaps there are ways we can fix this, such as group text chats in SMS, but I don't know how possible that is. Link to comment
onefortyseven
Terribly odd and as some people would call it 'immersion breaking'. If you're not portraying a character that'd realistically use it on daily basis, please stop using radios for everything. Cops, medics, security and other agencies and companies that'd use them IRL, fine, it's expected and also realistic. Random people that use radios for little to no reason tho, that wouldn't use them in real life, no. Edited September 25, 2020 by Brian Link to comment
DLimit
I often observe it as people using bluetooth or some sort of device on their phone that conducts massive Zoom/Skype calls, in this case. Link to comment
Tennplugg
Retarded. No normal person would use radios daily. unless your a cop, medic etc Edited September 25, 2020 by Tennplugg Link to comment
KinnyWynny
its very silly looking radios are not magical voice boxes. they occasionally sound garbled and unless you’re on an advance freq, its limited by range and geography. Link to comment
Seanny
Radios usage by regular citizens outside of their workplace is highly unrealistic. I think their should be more restrictions on radio usage regarding this. Edited September 25, 2020 by Seanny Link to comment
Monster.
I agree with what was mentioned, it is direly weird for a person to be walking around with a radio unless there's a reason that warrants it. You don't see a company or a business whatsoever using a radio as a mean for communication between employees or whatever hell reason. The only explanation, which is not near accountable, I see for this is that people are really in a dire need to communicate with each other thus using the radio for that. Perhaps something like a group SMS chat on phones can work? (afaik that's viable on facebrowser - so use that rather than walking like a goon with a bulky motorola radio in hand) Link to comment
Ketamine Kowboy
Even worse is criminals who use radios during hits, like they're fucking Seal team 6 Link to comment
Mescalero
Radios are group OOC chats , I've seen some people putting it into good use but... Other than few people, it's just a way to chat OOCly when you're not near your buddies (totally my experience and what i've seen, i haven't seen it's being used by illegal roleplayers) Link to comment
Sim
I use Zello with my friends a lot to troll each other, usually moan into the microphone during lunch time so they have to explain themselves to their family. However I've heard of it being used for work too. Look it up. Zello, realistic enough for in-game usage. However, not everyone RP's it like that. Link to comment
