OP, if you got the money, SSDs are very cheap nowadays, look into getting another one if possible. My HDD is like 2 or 3 months old, bought it new. And I couldn't get my hands on another SSD yet to test if the problem stops there, but I'll try as soon as I get one. Link to comment

Checking your thermals can be a good idea as well, I spoke to someone today who had a similar issue to you and it was his CPU thermal throttling, shoot me a message, I'll explain how to measure the temperatures. 1 Link to comment
