How would you tackle the issue of compensating players who already have paid for it, and what would you offer as an alternative?

Without prior announcement;

- Remove 'verified' as a reward for new subscribers. Add something else instead.

- Leave the feature available for existing subscribers, the length depending on the subscription time. (Star expires in 2 weeks, Hot expires in 2 months, Ultima expires in 1 year, VIP does not expire at all.

For the IC moderation comment.

It is not gonna happen, people outside staff will NEVER be FB moderators. They can see emails and what not which is way to sensitive information for someone not in Staff.

As for the checkmark, this is still a game not real life. This server costs money to keep rolling. FB is on an entire separate server because of its usage and resources need. If people wanna continue playing for free these are things we have to do to stay alive. Sure we can make FB for donators only if thats making you more satisfied, remove the check and add a "FB access" perk instead.

We cannot suddenly remove donator perks which people paid for without a good reason or whatsoever

But a relatively good reason and options were given. Besides all that is suggested is rework of blue check mark to be more IC, no other perks are suggested for change. People who want to boost or appear as “pro user” will still appear as one, just their check marks will be removed after the donator timer runs out. That’s it.

The ONLY thing being suggested is changing the verification system. Looking to be a "Pro user" or "Hot member" along with boosting perks would remain purchasable.

Something should still be done about it. We can't take the next step and start selling cars, houses and businesses in-game just because the game server costs money to run as well. There's workarounds - for the server, some cool perks that were non-essential and didn't give anyone an unfair advantage just because of OOC wealth - has been found. Why not look for something for Facebrowser as well?

The solution is not to remove it entirely, not to keep it like this but to find a different way. And there's plenty of solutions here already.

The verification system is also a massive metagaming breach. From an IC perspective, what did those people do to get verified? Have their parallel universe master pay make a payment in a different currency and economy? What would be the IC reason why a random police officer is verified and a police captain isn't, while having the same social status? It's literally legal metagaming.

Everyone and their mother has a blue check mark on Twitter, it's nothing special lol. Restricting them won't change a thing. My character ain't even got one and strangers recognize him in public, even tho he's just a mechanic.

then don't do it suddenly but announce that the feature of the check mark is going to be removed in xx time. I don't know how many people bought a year or a lifetime package but they could be compensated in a different way? if there are any people who did it.
