The new “ERP Rules” require more elaboration.

Before I start off; don’t come into this thread woth “dont’t ERP at all go to pornsites” or similar. People have sex. Characters have sex. Some tend to roleplay it fully, some partially, some fade to black. All three should be respected. You dont get to see it against your will so dont bother about it?

 

Onto the topic; recently a new ruleset was put in place to ensure protection against predatory behaviour. However, me and other community members have already established these rules can be easily exploited by underaged children playing in GTA World. To avoid these exploitations, some clarification is always welcome, primairly to the enforcement of the new rules.

 

Lets say for exemple, my character starts engaging in sexual intercourse with a different character. I make sure to ask; “/b According to the rules you must be 18+ for this, are you?” and the person answers with “Yes” or similar.

Then later down the line I suddenly find a report against me for breaching these new rules and with the person now providing evidence he or she is infact a minor. Would I be as fucked as I would be in the american justice system, or would I have myself covered? Would the person be punished for consciously trying to set an other community member up?

 

Lets say for exemple, a player thats OOCly a minor, but ICly above 18, enter a stripclub / gentlemen’s club. All kinds of sexual roleplay is being performed here. Should everyone leave? Should the underaged leave? Would the stripper/prostitute be punished if people find out the customer is a minor? Would the minor be forced to leave? And if he/she doesnt want to, what punishment is issued and to who?

 

Lets say for exemple the porn industry. Should players send in their actual IRL ID to have their characters work here? How does GTA World does its age verification?

 

And most importantly; what falls under sexual conduct in these new rules? Is kissing already a no-go (as it is by law)? Or a slap on the butt would be okay? Where is the line between normal flirting and sexual conduct?

 

We really need more clarification on this. Right now these rules are exploitable to the point where minors can literally just get anyone banned if they want to, which is not okay.

If we have evidence someone lied about being over 18, they'll be the ones punished not you if you truly didn't know, it's as simple as that. It's very easy for us to check logs if needed for situations like this too.

 

I think for a lot of this post your overanalyzing the new rules, we'll just have to deal with each situation as it comes up. It's not something we can make premptive judgements about because every situation will be different but I can assure you, nobody will be punished for the fun of it.

 

I'm going to lock this thread since I doubt it'll lead to anything good judging from the responses, but it'll be forwarded to management all the same incase their response may differ to mine.

I want to add onto what Moonsong has said here but in regards to the topic of stripclubs, this is quite simple. If you run an explicit business that is clearly unsuitable for anyone who may be minor then you are liable to ensure that characters are over 18 and players are over 18. it's as simple as asking at the door and everyone will answer you, if they do not report them and we will prevent them from going anywhere near it. Neither side here will be shown leniency if you are an adult breaking rules you will be punished, if you are a minor breaking rules thinking the adult will be punished in your stead, you will be punished as any other rule breaker would.
