Submit a character application for younger characters

I'm sure there's something in the works to address this issue already, but just in case this possible solution slipped through the cracks, here it is.

 

1 - Change the minimum age of a character in attributes to 18.

2 - Require a character application to be made for characters intended to be under 18.

3 - Only accepted character applications have their character's age changed to somewhere under 18 by an admin.

 

This will avoid factions and non-faction groups that rely on younger characters to exist running into trouble with the recent developments. It will also serve to weed out any unwanted roleplay as underage characters are all reviewed.

 

Some problems with this solution. How to deal with existing characters. They might all have to file an application, which could be very problematic.

Or just don’t be over sexual with characters who are under 18. We are trusted with commands to teleport, respawn vehicles, and revive ourselves but we still need admins to help us choose our characters age?

How about an application for buying a car from a dealership? 

 

Or an application to enter the 24/7?

Application to deposit money at the bank?

This is more in response to the anticipated change to disallow any characters below 18, except for those in gang factions.

This will be a total time waste in my opinion, even for staffs. While, they can already get logs, teleport or etc. If they see some char aged less than 18 gets involved in ERP. Instead of writing a wall of text in application then waiting to get approved, why don't take care of your character and don't involve him/her in ERP or any under age activity? Issue solved, right?

 

And yeah, there are already lots of things which are taken care by staffs, I don't think they gotta add more burden on themselves for this small little thing. Like, you have to wait for days (sometimes for weeks if you are not lucky) to get answer on your requests. So, staffs are already doing tons of things.

Well it seems like so far the rules are unlikely to change, so this isn't really needed.

Sure, ERP is a large issue, but I'd say it's disingenuous to suggest it is the only issue. There are several other issues which also need addressing, such as the creation and use of underaged characters in an attempt to escape or minimize consequences for their adult actions by using their age as a crutch.
