Ban ERP

The fact that the limit age is 16 yrs old still the same thing, 16 is illegal. Even if you change the limit to 18 guess what it's still illegal in the court eyes irl. Because the person rping as an adult could be underage behind the screen, and ERP is literally sexting, so it needs to be banned if you want to prevent the pedo issue. I don't see the point for ERP and I honestly think it should be banned.

While relationships can be an important part of character development I agree that there really is no point to ERP as there are ways to RP intimacy without graphically reenacting a porno through /me's.

While I understand that some people may enjoy it and some people may RP it responsibly the reality is there are what I believe is a large unspoken part of the player base who are not so much here to roleplay but instead are here to live out sexual fantasies. You could see this most prominently a few months ago before the new advertisement rules. At about 11PM EST every night you'd see a scourge of ads that were clearly intended to find an ERP partner. Originally I believed that the advertisement rules fixed this issue but it seems it has only forced the problem underground.

While I believe everyone should be allowed to RP the way they want (Within a degree of reason) this has clearly gotten out of hand. The server is now dealing with pedophiles and sexual deviants looking to exploit the server to fulfill their own sexual desires. Not for roleplay but simply to pleasure themselves IRL. This is disgusting and frankly quite a bigger issue then I think many people who partake in ERP realize. There are players in this community under the age of 18, you can point to the fact that this is an M rated game meaning 18+ in most places but that doesn't changed the fact that we have community members under the age of 18. Players who can find themselves in situations where they are having virtual sex with people much older then themselves.

100% support. No ones knows who they're erping on the other end, a large portion of this community is below the age of eighteen and if you don't know in America 18 is the age of consent. What you're essentially doing by erping is engaging in pedophile acts with a potential minor what's the difference between that and sending sexual texts to a minor? Nothing so why do we condone it because this is a RP community and we expect everyone to be above the age of 18? It baffles me. I was having a conversation with someone in /b and they told me there age, 14 and I know for a FACT she erps, it's sickening to see.

Maybe because I'm twenty I see the world different then I did but I remember the minute I turned eighteen I started giving a fuck to the women I talked to and there age because it actually matters once you past eighteen.

Now I'm not really a fan of this type of Roleplay, in fact I'm one of the people who dislike ERP but let me answer to what you've written above in your thread.

Grand Theft Auto V, which is the video game we are playing on GTA:W is rated M, that means it's considered as a +17y/o video game and that's in the US as far as I know, in other countries it's actually a +18y/o video game, which means it's restricted to adults and shall only be played by adults. Another thing for you to consider is the story mode, in fact if you have gone through the story mode you must have been through this mission where Franklin had to film some sort of a celebrity having an affair with a dude in her backyard, which is kinda DISTURBING for an underage kid to see and you can see that mission by clicking on HERE. Now for your concerns, if some parents allow their UNDERAGE children to play those kinda games, I might sound rude on this one but they are nothing but CARELESS and IGNORANT parents.

I'm not promoting for ERP, as I said above I've never been a fan of this kind of roleplay as I've been hating on it for so long now because I find it kinda weird, but yeah just wanted to get your facts straight there bud.

So if a kid potentially ERP's with someone and gets exploited by them, it's the kids parents fault for buying them an M rated game not the community for turning a blind eye to the issue?

So if a kid plays the story mode and reaches to the mission where they get to film two people having sex in the outdoors which is sickening on both parts, does that mean it's R*'s fault and they shall be sued for it?

Ngl, if I'm allowed to voice my opinion here. Personally im indifferent. It has its purposes, it has its flaws. But i'm sorry, nothing gives anyone the right to decide what person X and Y do, if its realistic, falls within the rules and doesnt hurt anyone else, it falls under basic freedom of what people do. Imagine your doing something lawful and you get forced to not do it? ERP is not against the rules, nor should it ever be. And unless your management or Nervous, commenting on what people do by themselves in their houses are not your business.

Why do people continue to make a big deal out of something WHICH DOES NOT AFFECT THEM. Please, explain to me in your reply how 2 people ERPing has anything to do with YOU personally?

GTA W operates an opt out mechanism, you have the right to refuse, or if you stumble on it and are uncomfortable, you have the right to leave. I don't swing either side of the argument these days, in my prior years yes I did used to ERP, these days I don't. I just think its out right stupid people keep sticking their noses in other affairs.

I'm sorry if this isn't worded as nice as it can be, but these threads are appearing constantly, people are ignoring genuine area's of RP which could and need to be expanded in favour of some kind of ERP witch hunt. If you don't want to ERP? Great don't do it. If you do? Well also great, you shouldn't be shamed for it.
