A person at the scene initially complained to LSNN reporters, questioning to why an Air Ambulance was sent to the scene when resources was already on scene and that the nearby hospital (Pillbox Medical Center) and even went on to mention that the sound of the helicopter landing on the scene woke them up. The Fire Department was reached out to for an initial statement and provided the below statement.

"This incident is currently under investigation and the Los Santos Fire Department can not comment on pending investigations. As to the other requested information regarding the use of an aircraft when an Ambulance is already on scene;

Aircraft are used for critical calls and the call in nature was distinguished as a severely critical patient. The use of the Aircraft provided a much quicker MEDEVAC to the correct hospital. The closest Hospital is Pillbox Hill but Davis is the most advanced hospital we have in the state currently. Running the critical patient to Davis was the best option at the time and as such, the use of the Aircraft was justified. Fast Response vehicles are only used for ALS support and have no transport capability so that was not an option for the department. We will provide a further statement when the investigation has been concluded." - Captain II - Roxie Bauer, Commanding Officer of Air Operations Division
