Prohibit Adult Video Companies from using /cad and /ad

(NOTE: I am explicitly referring to Adult VIDEO companies, not Adult Stores or Shops.)

I would provide in-game examples of this, but I'd prefer to place them in negative light.

During peak hours and the hours of the night, the chat is often spammed every 5 minutes by Adult Video companies. While I'm aware that Adult Video companies and the likes do exist in real life and have just as much freedom IG as they do IRL, it should be noted that pornography producers do not advertise their companies in a public manner as they do on this server. Sure, in some shady websites that might occur, but you will never see a billboard for PornHub, or have a PornHub ad play at the top of your local news journal website.

Frankly, I believe the persistent advertisements for Adult Video companies on the server is a very bad impression for new players, and displays an largely misleading message of what the server's direction is. In my opinion, it gives GTA:W the appearance of a sexually deviant community. While sexual themes, sexual activity, and Adult companies in general have every right to exist in this mature setting, I do not believe they should be so publicized. Online ads in the business section of the forums, handouts, any other form of advertising is perfectly fine, but being spammed every 5 minutes with a Porn Company announcing that they have the sexiest new content is admittedly degrading.

Not only does this provide a poor image for the server, it also takes up ad space for rp-providing companies and businesses attempting to attract players, create roleplay instances and economic stimulation.

As a whole, it's unrealistic. As stated prior, porn companies are not seen publicly advertising their newest productions on billboards or reputable websites. It shouldn't be seen in game. On the forums or any other means of advertisement is perfectly acceptable, but in chat every 5 minutes is not.

If a player asking for an escort in /ad is to be prohibited due to it's overly sexual nature, then why should Adult Video companies be allowed to advertise?

Not needed, it is fine at it is. A player asking for an escort in an ad is not allowed because prostitution is illegal, not because i's overly sexual nature. Let people advertise their companies and don't limit their roleplay and ability to reach players.

I don't agree with this, it is strictly in character, there are other things that give a bad impression to players, but this is not one of them imo.

I think the overuse of /cad and /ad for these compaines is a bit  annoying, and I can agree with the unrealistic point you're making if it's overused because- "you don't hear/see this stuff in real life all the time" however, I think /cad use is completely fine if they're hiring for their company, or occasionally promoting new videos "featuring x and x" and if it's not posted every 5 minutes like I have seen before too. I'm not against the ig companies because they do provide a bit of RP for different groups, and they are also often seen in a negative light IC.

/ad is supposed to be "you saw a flier, heard it on the radio, saw an ad on a website"..I think /ad is perfectly fine for them to use in a way if they're hiring models/actors because I have gone to some shady parts of my city, and I have sometimes seen ads taped to boards and fliers floating around promoting stuff like this. I'm not really against the companies posting /ads and /cads, but if they're doing it constantly, and preventing other businesses to promote their current active on-map business than it can be a bit annoying.

Like Rozi mentioned above, there are other things that give off bad impressions to new players, and this probably isn't top of the list imo. I can understand where you're coming from as a player who runs a business almost reliant on /cad, but they're in the same boat.

If none of this makes sense, it's because I just woke up.

I agree with OP.

I've been on this server for quite a minute and can see where they're coming from, from an RP capability. Without rambling on, this here sums up my argument.

Personally, this is what I think of an advert when I see it - either a billboard, news clipping or even a phone notification. I personally wouldn't RP an adult video company sending me a notification, saying that their 'NEWEST VIDEO, X HAS SEX WITH X. WATCH NOW' - it's nonsensical.

/ad and /cad would be open to the public eye, and would ICly be filtered through some advertising company - and released to the general public, as EVERYONE would see this. If this were real life and porn adverts were on every platform - we'd have Karens calling up and complaining, even potentially filing lawsuits and such.

I think this is a flawed view.

Everything takes up space for RP providing companies and businesses. Car sales and club advertisements are much more prevalent than this type of content, but you won't really see those at the top of the news hour either. I think it must be accepted that realism has its limits here. Ads are partly functional for the purposes of connecting characters for RP and offering/requesting services.

The poor image of the server seems to be a personal view. It seems like you are trying to enforce your own moral standards. This doesn't even come close to what is currently considered bannable offensive RP, so why should it be banned from ads?

Even if not entirely realistic, it's also not illegal and it'd be unfair if they were stopped from advertising their business. Hoooowever, If someone is repeatedly spamming adverts and not giving others an opportunity, then feel free to report them as rule 17 explicitly asks everyone to be considerate with their adverts and sets a precedent ?
