The LSPD have opened their second station in Hughes' tenure as Chief of Police this evening, in the pursuit of modernising the LSPD.

 

A public appearance from Mayor Vincent Rockford today, as he cut the banner on the Rockford Hills Police Station, prompting celebrations from the Hughes administration as they continue to reform and modernise the Los Santos Police Department. Opening the precinct to a large crowd with the backdrop of the old, yet refurbished station, Rockford spoke about the steps that the city has taken to continue to serve and protect the city, praising the hard work of the Hughes administration to bring the project to life, and briefly discussed the steps that the city will take to further serve the community.

Following the event, LSNN caught up with Chief Hughes to ask him about the work the department has undergone. He thanked his command staff for steering the department within his direction, before moving to compliment the boots on the ground and the middle management of the department, stating that their success is, ultimately, down to them, paying tribute to their commitment to their training, skill, and will. He also discussed the progress that the department has made - but warned against complacency as he affirms that there is still progress to be made.

 

In a candid conversation, Hughes discussed the need to move the department away from out-sourcing, instead, bringing back jobs to the local community through civilians in 'considerable amounts'. Stating that the department will move to increase jobs in both front-line and supportive roles, outside of law enforcement, including both jobs on a management level and on a ground level. He preemptively compliments the move the department is taking, stating that the key to effective law enforcement is through the correct support teams.
