Issues with "security" portrayal at businesses.

"Visual look of guards and their armed status." I'm sorry, is this a security agency or a fucking PMC? I've also done my research, and I can assure you, the majority of "California companies" do not blouse their boots like paratroopers, nor do they wear tac vests and combat gloves paired up with cowboy hats like they're ready for the Boogaloo.

Y'all are doing a mighty fine job. Keep at it. :^)

As I mentioned, without undergoing specialisation courses or a police academy I cannot sit here and explain you why stuff happens. You got an opinion and I don't really want to spend my whole life explaining, not like I care either.

About the situation in the photo, it's not really a real man act to put out things from months ago, without even knowing the situation. It's been dealt with by administration and no issues have been found, nobody was getting pulled over, but the guard was questioning the rental new player abiut acts he did earlier on a guarded property.

The yellow light is not a legal law enforcement sign and everyone knows that it does not mean anything special. There is also no sound, megaphone, or any legal request to make a person pull over. The acts from the driver were voluntary and nobody made them stop. So yeah ;).

The only illegal thing I see in that photo is a ticket for illegal parking.

Looks like a PMC behavior to me right there. No security firm has the right to pull someone over. Though I know for a fact that bouncers irl are given vests that prevent being stabbed, they can not stop bullets but can take a stab and keep guard safe from being stabbed in his torso.

I don't know which company roleplay actual bulletproof vests, as none currently IG have such equipment, so your statement really brings stuff that never even happen.

Administrators don’t have to intervene with every facet of life. If the club owners consciously demand for better security companies you have self-regulation and the market would adjust itself accordingly. At least, that’s how capitalism is suppose to work anyway.

I doubt it's going to happen if we let them on their hands.

I meant irl there are vests that are stab proof, not bullet proof. For a fact I know a few people who worked security at clubs and were given those vests against being stabbed.

Yeah, that's true. And a anti-stab proof is a really nice thing, however people prefer to use bulletproof ones because usually (mainly the older plate styles) already have the anti stab protection as well, so if you're gonna carry a vest, many prefer to just get a bulletproof one.

The other half who don't carry vests are the "I'm immortal and vests make me look like a wannabe, look at them funny guys robocops" type who usually later on sadly end up being wounded or seriously injured.

Being cool most of the times is accompanied with being stupid.

However very little of that can be recreated IG, so it brings nothing to the original issue here, so let's divert back to topic.

Yea', people need to be less of trigger happy and think whether pulling a gun is something you can justify (if you licensed) or you can get away (with minimal witnesses)

I don't know where this idea that security is rootin tootin six gun shootin all the time. As the faction leader for Executive Security I can tell you right now that the amount of shooting incidents our guards are involved in is 1 or less per month. I can say the same about Gruppe 6, who I've never even seen get in any sort of shootout.

I've noticed freelancing guards can sometimes be more likely to do that due to a lack of training or experience, but that's about it. And as @zaXer. Mentioned, our access to non lethal options are basically non existent.

Which I'd love to see you guys get it. If a person has a GC he should get access to non-lethal equipment such as baton which can be useful in fending an attack.

I never really considered armed security as an issue. I do not know how security guards function in LA, and whether or not they are armed. However, I think it is sensible for security guards in LS to carry weapons given the environment and incidents that occur. Proper training should be accompanied with it, and the guards should understand many other methods to handle situations other than pulling out a weapon. I am not involved in any security company, so I can not judge whether proper training is given or not.

The short version is this: security is forced to use firearms for two reasons primarily.

  1. People start shootouts because people stepped on their shoe, constantly. People go to openings of clubs and bar specifically to find trouble and start script combat.
  2. Melee sync does not work. Period. It is, essentially, RNG. People generally don't roleplay fights, either, so even if you play a giant 6'0 bouncer, a 15 year old from the hood will still start left clicking you, at which point they're on an equal playing field where even skill at GTA as a game doesn't really matter, due to the sync.

These issues combined mean there's essentially no point having unarmed security.
