Old Man Mahelona Posted May 7, 2020 Author Share Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) The Mahelona Crew are a small puppet organized crime group originating from Waikiki, Honolulu. They are mainly composed of Native Hawaiians, most of the posse said to hold a large Hawaiian and small Samoan minority. Rumoured to have a long and resourceful relationship with the city of Honolulu's subordinate Hawaiian crime syndicate, they are known for being Haikiki and Kaimuki locals from the city of Honolulu district. A small portion of associated members are also scattered half-way across the map leading to the infamous State of San Andreas, having settled down in Los Santos. The reason as to why this is, is primarily due to the fact that some of the clan wanted to avoid potential prosecution after the imprisoment of Lono 'The Old Man' Mahelona, the former Hawaiian native boss of the reputed Mahelona Crew. Mahelona was also mentioned to be an affiliate of The Company, one of Hawaii's lower ranking crime families of Native Hawaiian descent. Old Man Mahelona was convicted of five counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, illegal gambling, and is also facing gunrunning charges. Due to the Old Man's upcoming status as an inmate within a federal penitentiary, a phone call took place with one of the trusted members of his inner circle, Frank 'Frankie Ocean' Opunui. Frankie Opunui was instructed to officially take over the reigns as acting boss. After Old Man Mahelona's indictment, the ruthless Hawaiian clique suffered a major loss as most of their structure collapsed due to the feds whom which were finally given the chance to shut down every business that Lono was involved in, even if it had the slightest smell of crime. Not only this, but also the fact that they had their respectable leader locked up in chains. This was someone who the hierarchy looked up to for a long time, similar to that of a traditional chieftain in charge of a specific tribe. With The Company's blessing, Opunui's crew takeover led to Frankie Ocean's most trusted lieutenants; Raymond Mahoe and Alexander Keawe, vacating the streets of Haikiki and were ordered to establish the small but yet glorified Los Santos branch of the currently shattered Mahelona crew. This was slowly achieved alongside the help of Iosefa 'Sef' Lotomau, a small time Samoan-American street gangster known to be a Los Santos native. Due to the large Polynesian minority within Los Santos, some of them were said to be closely associated with members of the Mahelona crew, who at the time only held presence down in the poor neighbourhoods of Honolulu. After major government presence around the streets of Waikiki, every high risk crime the Mahelona's were responsible of committing was put to a stop due to the famous Old Man's incarceration. Hence the fact that organized crime was pretty much impossible within the crew's Honolulu borough, Opunui's new leadership structure led to the said lieutenants making an attempt to renew their operation within Los Santos through petty Hawaiian and Samoan criminals they knew throughout Vespucci Beach. The Mahelona Crew's main activities involved arms trafficking, illegal gambling, prostitution, and money laundering. Most of the money these high risk crimes bestowed upon the crew were also sent to the once great but now crumpling Honolulu's Hawaiian Syndicate, also known as The Company. OOC INFORMATION The Mahelona Crew's aim is to portray an organized crime group of Hawaiian descent. Our goal is to focus on our development into becoming a fully fledged crime family. That being said, this type of RP isn't for everyone. You'll need to know your basics about organized crime before you plan on rping with us. However, we're happy to help anyone who needs it, whether it be with RP ideas or anything in general. The reason as to why we made this faction in the first place is because we feel it's very unique, as there has not been any other faction we have come across that have roleplayed being of similar Polynesian descent. Our crew also accepts anyone with an Eastern Asian background - Japanese, Korean, etc - but to really progress with our faction, we'd prefer you to RP Polynesian.
