Hate Beach Skinheads

Two years ago, a skinhead arrested for beating a Chinese-American teen-ager in Vespucci told police that he and his white-power friends knew where to go in Los Santos to meet up with other like-minded youths. “Vespucci Beach is the hotbed for skinheads,” said the 17-year-old caucasian boy. Since the mid-1980s, Vespucci Beach, famous for its surfing scene, has also been something of a magnet for skinheads. Its pier and downtown area have been gathering spots for young people whose shaved heads, swastika tattoos, steel-toed boots and racist philosophy mark them as “skins.”

Hate Beach Skinheads (also known as HBSH), is a white supremacist street gang based out of Los Santos, San Andreas, having close ties to the infamous Aryan Brotherhood (AB / The Brand) and the Nazi Lowriders (NLR). The members are commonly found in the Vespucci Beach area which crosses paths with the Vespucci Canals, Vespucci Beach Sidewalk Market, Bay City Avenue and other areas of West Los Santos. The gang was initially formed in 1998 as a punk rock gang to protect members from rival white street gangs. It was and remains to this date rooted in the punk rock scene in Southern San Andreas which was highlighted for its drug use, violent and overall antisocial behaviour. Throughout this time, HBSH has rivaled many other gangs like the Seaside ABZ (ABZ),  Vespucci Metal Minds (VMM), The Vespucci Peckerwoods (VP), and many others. The gang peaked in the early 2000's, at the height of punk rock, later became identified as a street gang in 2007. By the early 2010s, the fall of the punk rock coupled with pressure from law enforcement led to the decline of HBSH membership. In the mid-2010s, HBSH became active again and has since remained criminally active with members often in-and-out of juvy, and prison.

Members of the skinhead gang commonly wear white laces in their boots, which means that the gang members indetifies as a white power skinhead. Some of them however, have red laces worn in their boots, which are also commonly worn by people who drew blood and assaulted a minority. Aspiring gang members go through twenty three second jump in (23 for the letter W from the English alphabet). Most members are white, but there have been cases of half-hispanic members who are also in the skinhead gang. HBSH graffiti can be seen littering the streets and walls of buildings located in Vespucci Beach. Members of the gang are in and out of juvenille, and prison. The gang has grown and older members try to get younger members to avoid bringing in unnecessary police attention. Hate Beach Skinheads covers a broad range of crimes ranging from petty assault, theft and vandalism, to more violent crimes such as credit card fraud, and identity theft. Vespucci Beach is plagued and infested by hate crimes, and all members of the gang are to be considered violent, as their reputation in their neighborhood and sometimes even in the county jails and prisons of San Andreas is at stake.

Some Hate Beach Skinheads gang members are also tend to gravitate towards surfing and skateboarding, two sports being engrained in the culture of Vespucci Beach since the early 1970s. The gang also has female members, who are not to be jumped into the gang due to the gender restrictions in the crime network. Usually they are just girlfriends of members, and identify as skinbyrds. More often than not, they are just as violent as their male counterparts. There have been cases of female members taking parts in assaults, drug sales, fraud cases, identity theft, and even murders.

But while that scene might have flourished in the late 2000s, some teens say it is now on the decline. “The movement’s dying down in Vespucci Beach,” Brian said. “It used to be a lot of white people, but now there are too many minorities coming in.” Brian’s girlfriend, Cindy, 17, who attended Hate Beach Skinhead meetings in her hometown of Vespucci Beach, said many skinheads are leaving Vespucci Beach because they feel increasing hostility from people on the street and from large amount police officers lurking on the street.

OOC Information

We're aiming to portray a realistic skinhead faction which is influenced by the Punk Rock scene, surfing and drugs, based around Vespucci Beach. If you wish to join our faction and roleplay with us, you have to agree to let us to CK your character whenever we feel it is necessary, under any reason or circumstances. That is to say, a slashing on a fellow comrade, causing that player to be removed from the faction, will also be considered a CK. As will your character checking into protective custody / turning into a rat, because of their roleplay with the faction. Please send this message to Floyd_Campbell on the GTAW forums with the title 'CK Permission - (Character Name)'.
