Properties for Unique Characters

Last week I made a character who’s a young adult enriched with social anxiety and awkwardness, you could picture a young Mark Zuckerburg mixed with McLovin, but eventually his ambition is to attend ULSA. Since he’s currently homeless and takes up low pay civilian jobs to get by, I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to build a unique interior for the future residence of a student character? I was picturing a 90/2000’s themed room in the attic but I don’t know if building such an interior would suit the current property exteriors and environment.

Perhaps I haven’t looked hard enough but I’d like to know how other roleplayers deal with situations they have to compromise on, maybe someone could also suggest an alternative to fitting the current property situation to my character.
