What do you like about GTAW?

So, I'm new to the community. I've been here for about a week now and I've just been feeling out the community and the server, I'm actually really impressed with the level of role play I've seen on this server, the amount of updates the team pushes out and overall the community vibe.

I'm curious what parts do you like about GTAW? Would you like to see improvements anywhere?

I was in the same boat back in May last year. I put off joining for the longest time because I came from LSRP, where there was a big stigma about the roleplay quality with regards to GTAW and GTA 5 in general. Lambchops and Rammstein convinced me to give it a go and I never looked back or regretted it. Initially, I was dreading having to grind some repetitive job to make a decent amount of cash just to get a basic car and a house, so you can imagine how overwhelmed with joy I was when I found out that you get $5,000 off the bat for the first 40 hours.

That aside, I was impressed by the content on the server and the amount of updates that were being churned out - albeit the server crashes got a bit annoying. They aren't as bad as they used to be anymore. As for what can be improved, I'm struggling to come up with anything that hasn't already been covered in the suggestions area - there's a lot of great ideas in there that I'd like to see in the future.

In my opinion it's the first place I've seen organized crime work well, and where organized crime didn't just mean four Russians or Italians with AK's driving around in a car. There's a lot of depth to it on this server and politics between gangs is a major thing. I also like how most proper gangs are somehow or somewhat affiliated to an organized crime group, yet still respects the politics and instead of total war between groups a lot of agreements are brokered or hits are handled smart. If you have an issue with one guy, instead of going for total war, as I've seen on most other servers, people will politic the hell out of the situation if they can't hit the certain individual themselves and might lure another group into doing it, who's otherwise on good terms with the guy. I feel like on this server illegal crime isn't simply who's able to hit the most people, but also who's the most convincing, turning it into a mind game, as soon as you reach the upper echelon of illegal RP.

In much of my experience with roleplaying, from forum written, to The Specialists Roleplay, various MMO communities, and even a number of gmod servers, I have to admit that I have never before experienced the quality of administration that exists in the GTAW community. The decisions made seem balanced, thoroughly based in facts, and with an interest in helping the community thrive. At points I am even almost suspicious with just how well the administrative team is operating.

Top shelf performance, allowing for a fun environment that is traditionally somewhat tilted by staffing drama in other communities.

Well, I'm not by any means new to roleplay and have done so quite extensively over the years- However, after a hefty hiatus, GTA World is the first sever that really struck me as a qualitative one, and that's due to many factors which I'll get into in a few seconds. First of all, the platform, Rage MP, albeit not as stable as it should be, allows for pretty good immersion and I really believe the opportunities with this game are virtually endless and rely solely on how far human imagination is willing to (and can) go. Now, one thing I really enjoy about GTA:W is how this isn't just the classic "Cops n' Robbers" type vibe that you'd usually get from a SA:MP server, but instead offers a pool of alternatives with civilian RP being up there and treated with due respect (you can join a business, create your own, join a faction such as the Government or even Coroners).

Furthermore, I have to give my props to the staff team for doing an extremely good job, as mentioned above, at remaining balanced and objective. I appreciate how admins are not always trigger happy and ready to pull the ban hammer, instead they take into account multiple perspectives and give everyone a fair chance, that is something I really look up to. Last but not least, I like how the bar is held high- and RP standards are where they should be, given the limitations of a text-based server (which in my humble opinion is much better than a voice one, but alas).

I must admit. I haven't seen very much kicks or bans in the server, nor have I heard any real serious complaints about the administration team. My brother had a minor bump in the road with his application but I couldn't complain the way Selena handled it. I really hope the standard this server has set stands tall after a few years of running, looking forward to seeing where the server goes!

As stated above. I do like the way there are not many kicks nor bans apart from serious reasons. I've had to deal with people failing to show proper roleplay and instead of punishing, the admin took a different approach and I feel that it worked a lot better ensuring that the player will learn.

I also genuinely like the way the ads system is set up as well as the fact that the player base is rather friendly and I have thus far have had bad roleplay experience on this server. Coming from LS-RP (played from 2011-2019) I was actually surprised by the level of roleplay and detail people put in on this server as I was honestly expecting less.

Looking forward to seeing where this server will go.

If there is one thing everyone can universally say they like about the server is: the updates. Compared to a server that I'm sure a majority of this community comes from/knows about that I won't mention, the updates on here are insanely common.
