Introduction

So you decided to make an Serbian character and most common things you will want to roleplay will be mafia life.

People around the world have a very low respect for Serbians because they are "filthy criminals" who do anything they can to earn money on ways that doesn't include working for it. Well Serbians aren't just criminals by default, there are ways and traditions revolving being a Serbian mobster and not anyone can call himself that.

Respect is the key

Something that has to be most present is mutual respect. What do I mean by mutual respect? Respect is meant to be given to everyone you meet. Giving respect must not go over to "licking someone's ass" to put it that way. No one likes kiss asses, it's someone who just cares for being liked but with no learning ways what so ever. Always be respect full to people you meet, it's just one of those starter things everyone should do no matter what. Having a big mouth and disrespect towards anyone you meet considering them low-life can end up bad. I have been engaging with illegal Serbian factions long enough to experience some things that you must not do to others, disrespecting is one of the top things, don't forget that.

Starting out

Another thing that you must not forget is that while you start out, higher ranks of the faction will not even talk to you because you are unknown to them and you haven't been "vouched" for inside the faction by any superior rank. Once you start engaging with the members of the faction you must be respect full as I said to everyone you meet, while meeting another Serbian try to talk with him about your character story and from where he comes and about his age (never roleplay a character who has over 25 years of age). Try to ask the guy who you just have met about jobs and people who give out jobs around here. He will most probably introduce you to one of the faction business. On the start you will must work around bars roleplaying a bartender which is normal. Working as a bartender is just learning first things around the business. Be as active as you can around the businesses.

Engaging into the illegal side

So, you have been roleplaying within the illegal Serbian faction and you no longer want to be a bartender, what can you do? First things you can do is go to your supervisor or the man who gave our your jobs. Ask him is there any other jobs you can do besides bartender, remember to stay polite and show respect to the supervisor. Best thing that can come out of it is that he introduces you to the illegal side showing you and giving you things that you can sell (drugs, weapons, etc), second option is he introduces you to the illegal side but not with narcotics, but with selling "illegally imported"
cigarettes that you sell to people. You will earn a cut after doing any of the option, some supervisors take money on start not on the end so you will have clean cuts on the end. Being present around the community helps a lot with getting on top.

Becoming supervisor

Once you have proven yourself to your supervisor by being around and good amount of narcotics you will be introduced to one of the "top dogs"
of the faction. Those are the people who run the faction for the long run, they appear only on special occasions, so you must have been vouched for so they gotten respect for yourself and a name also. They will introduce you to the faction rules and things that you must give when you get "inside"
and become an "insider". Remember respect is always the key...

Tips:
-Serbian mobsters don't expose themselves as rich people, they don't ride sport cars, they act like normal people so they don't gather police attention, that is a realistic and good type of roleplay for someone who roleplays an Serbian mobster.
- Always roleplay having weaknesses, and your character should have some kind of addiction (it doesn't have to).
- Follow server rules at all times.
- Post screens on the faction thread in a generous amount so you can prove being active, and you can show your development.

Casual language among Serbians

Every culture has it's casual sayings, so Serbians have ones too, I will go over with ones here:

Dobro - means: "OK, good" you will use this a lot.
Vidimo se - means: "See you later".
Hvala - means: "Thank you", "Thanks".
Brate - means: "brother".

Utoka - means: "Pistol"

Mitraljez - means: "SMG"

Koks - means: "cocaine"

Trava/vutra - means: "weed"

Pljuga - means: "cigarette"

Noz/brica - means: "knife"
