Chapter 1:

"Kolya, who did this to you?":
(Birth, Brothers, Education, Work, Kristina Miller, Jonathon Miller.)

It all started on the 9th of September when Nikolai was brought into the world in St. Petersburg by his mother, Irena Mazurkiewicz (Polish) and his father, Vladamir Volkov (Russian). He was mostly kept company by his 6-year older half-brother, Nikita Volkov with who he was linked through his father; as well as his 2-year older brother Jaroslaw Mazurkiewicz-Volkov to who he was very close. 1.1.1

Nikolai attended a public school, which he enjoyed despite the occasional bullying which was quickly resolved by his protective brothers. This allowed him to focus on his education, allowing him to progress up to and above the intelligence of his brothers. His above-average IQ was made clear by his lack of heavy involvement in crime, drugs and mischief - the main hobbies of his 2 brothers. As an effect, Nikolai got a job at a mechanic garage at the age of just 17 which was based in Poland, where he had moved temporarily due to family tension involving his parents. 1.1.2

During his time in Szczecin, Poland, Nikolai met Kristina Miller of Slovak descent who had escaped her family home in Slovakia at just the age of 14, being 3 years younger than Nikolai. This was due to the imprisonment of her brother, Jonathon. This meeting triggered a sense of intrinsic guilt inside of Nikolai which pushed him to take care of her, eventually taking her home to Kaliningrad 2 years later, where she resided with him and his 2 brothers. The two shared a relationship closer to that of siblings rather than friends or couples. 1.1.3

"On one condition":
(Life until the US, a gift and a promise.)

At the hectic age of 23, 4 years after living with Kristina, Kolya was visited by Jonathon who had 'escaped' from prison with a generous gift of $5,000 - on one condition. Kolya had to promise to take care of Kristina following any disappearance or death of Jonathon. Kolya happily agreed, departing his family home to go to the US and leaving Kristina to go back to Slovakia with her brother. 1.2.1

Chapter 2:

"Long time, no see."
(VolkovMotors, and a reunion.)

A year into his life in Los Santos, Kolya had gathered enough cash And knowledge of the language through bartending and racing to start a small business, KVMotors. Here, Kolya bought and sold used vehicles, refuelling his passion for cars. This eventually made Kolya hit his first $300,000 which he partially spent on a house and the stock within his business. 2.1.1

A visit from Jonathon occurred not long after, where Kolya was told that Kristina is coming to LS to join him as Jonathon has personal issues that will keep him away from Kristina for a while. Shortly after, Kris was already moved in with Kolya, helping out with the KVMotors. 2.1.2

"For those we've loved, and those we've lost.":
(A profit, and a loss)

Kolya hits $400,000 through his automotive business and receives a phone call informing him that his mother has disappeared. He tells Kristina to sell all of his cars while he's gone and takes a trip to Kaliningrad in search of his mother along with his 2 brothers. 6 months pass and not a single soul is found. 2.2.1

"Yes Kris, it's necessary.":
(An impulse purchase, a wise sale and the start of something more than motivation.)

Kolya gives up and returns to LS empty-handed, but is met with enough cash to make his first large purchase to drown his sorrows. A Coil Raiden and a Tattoo despite being told multiple times by friends to not buy anything stupid: 2.3.1

Raiden:

3 weeks into owning the Raiden, Kolya's life becomes meaningless and bland. He decides to sell it, despite it being his most valuable possession. That choice bounces back with an additional $300,000 in his pocket, with which he decides to reopen his dealership, re-branding to VolkovMotors. This choice takes Kolya's mind off the past, And focuses him into the future, making him work long hours in order to do so. This arguably starts his workaholism. 2.3.2

Chapter 3:

"He's dead Kolya, he's fucking dead!":

(Jonathon's death and Kolya's confinement to responsibility)

9 months after Kolya's and Jonathon's last conversation, a letter arrives at the door with the keys of Jonathon's old car, signed for Kristina Miller and accompanied by a Sabre turbo Custom parked outside. This implied the death/disappearance of Jonathon Miller and resulted in Kolya's fulfilment of their agreement (1.2.1). In order to remind himself of his promise, Kolya got a tattoo: 3.1.1

"Hey Blondie":

(Kolya meets Steph Babaev, results in an important life lesson. Impulse purchase #2 and the end of Volkov Motors)

Sometime during running VolkovMotors, Kolya stumbles on a certain Steph Babaev ( @Perstephone ) and an acquaintanceship develops into a relationship. This relationship sadly falls to bits after Kolya's workaholism becomes apparent, Kolya sometimes losing full days while working and not seeing Steph for long periods of time. He still strongly believes that the breakup was fully deserved, however, those were not his first impressions. 3.2.1

After his breakup with Steph, Kolya realised his flaws and gave up on his business, selling everything that he associated with the business, including his beloved Raiden (2.3.1). This resulted in a very large sum in his bank account, which he chose to re-invest in a mechanic garage, pursuing his passion for cars and giving him an activity to focus on while coping with loneliness: 3.2.2

Chapter 4:

"We've come to offer protection":

(Kolya's protection racket, a threat at the workplace)

A normal night at the garage turns sour when a duo of mafia members decide to target Kolya's garage for their 'protection' proposal that would cost him a hefty sum a week. Kolya, not knowing the full ramifications, declined the offer and got assaulted, leaving him injured. These assaults persist, to the point where the police were patrolling his garage. However, after Kolya's brothers found out, there was no going back. 4.1.1

Video of the attacks:

"They're both dead, and it's all my fault":

(The death of Kolya's brothers.)

After Kolya's brothers, Jarek and Nikita, found out about the situation, it was only a matter of time before they died. Jarek was found in Vespucci with a bullet in the back of his head a few days after the attack. His brother Nikita returned to Kolya a few days with "The Jarek" and a final goodbye before, he too, died. However, his body wasn't found. Kolya swore to avenge his brothers, no matter what it took. 4.2.1

Chapter 5:

"Oh, sweet revenge."

(Kolya's fulfilment of his promise to avenge, and tattoo #3)

A few days pass after the death of Kolya's brothers and men come down to Kolya's garage in order to "Have a talk". After multiple threats involving extortion received from the group in his own office, Kolya calls his friends to come down to the garage, being outnumbered. The situation settles slightly before the men steal a hammer, throwing it through the window of one of Kolya's very good friends. This action is not taken lightly, and as a result, guns are pulled and shots are fired towards the escaping thieves, dropping one of them dead as he is getting into his car. 5.1.1

Body Disposal:

His body is then disposed of and payments made to Kolya's friends as a thank you. This marks the end of the chaos at the garage, for the thieves never return. The death of Kolya's brothers is marked with a tattoo on Kolya's back, reading "Bullet Proof", acting as a half-pun for Kolya's close encounter with death, as well as being the only Volkov left. 5.1.2

'Bullet Proof':

"Why not?"

(Kolya starts getting a grip, impulse purchase #3 and #4)

During Kolya's state of emotional instability and troubles, he meets an individual that helps getting him back on his feet by the name of Lily Ross. Kolya had known Lily for a while beforehand, seeing her a few times at VolkovMotors, where they had acquainted. This sparked a certain happiness within Kolya which tore him away from his work and responsibilities. Despite Kolya's attempts to get closer to Lily, she always seemed to keep her distance, but Kolya didn't think about it too much in order to not ask for too much. 5.2.1

Due to his happiness, Kolya decided to make another 2 hefty purchases: A "Speeder" boat and a Pfister Neon, adding up to almost $800,000. These purchases he adored very much often taking friends, including Lily, out for boat rides. 5.2.2

"Nightclub Kolya"

(A good sale, and an even better purchase, #5)

A few weeks after owning the Speeder, Kolya contacts the owner of Out of Towners club in order to buy it and has to sell his Speeder for a loss of $30,000 in order to afford it. After this purchase, Kolya decided to expand his field of work from Automotive into Entertainment. He ends up changing the club into an evening bar. 5.3.1

Chapter 6:

"It was all going so well..."

(A terrible death and an emotional breakdown)

(Read the text before checking out the screenshots - there's quite a few of them :P)

A few happy weeks pass, Kolya continues spending time with Lily Ross, enjoying boat rides, going clubbing, taking her off-roading etc. His garage is turning over a steady income and all is going well until tragedy strikes on a certain Saturday evening. 6.1.1

A phone call comes in from a very concerned and tearful Lily Ross, where she apologises for everything, blames herself for distancing herself from Nikolai, and tells him to take care of everyone close to him. The call ends and Kolya immediately falls into a panic, driving around and eventually finding Lily stood on a tall bridge barrier, surrounded by a group of police cruisers... Kolya was then found by Kristina Miller and Lily's best friend, Chloe Reid, who were both waiting at the bottom of the bridge during the tragedy... 6.1.2

Chapter 7:

"Please, just take one of them."

(A hectic search for Lily's vehicles and a pleasant gift.)

After Lily's death, Kolya makes it his duty to find and repossess Lily's 2 beloved vehicles. Her Hakuchou, and her Kamacho. After a few sleepless nights, Kolya finally manages to track down both vehicles and persuade the owners to sell them, overpaying massively due to their sentimental values. People thought that his mission here would be done, yet Kolya still had plans ahead of him. 7.1.1

Lily's old Kamacho:

QWJX13N.png

A few days after acquiring both vehicles, Kolya calls Chloe Reid (6.1.2) and offers to meet her. He has a talk with her, checking up to make sure she's okay and bringing her outside in order to show her the 2 vehicles. Gobsmacked and aware that Kolya has lost a few days of sleep in order to retrieve these vehicles, she politely refuses to take either of them when offered both keys. Eventually, Kolya persuades Chloe to take the key of the Hakuchou, the bike that meant a lot to both her and Lily. The Kamacho, Kolya keeps for himself and swears to take care of it. 7.1.2

"Another one?"

(Kolya buys another boat, impulse purchase #6)

After successfully running both of his businesses, Kolya decides to reward himself with a "Marquis" boat. Though the many criticisms towards Kolya's recklessness of spending money unnecessarily, Kolya stays convinced that his purchase is worth it. He later repaints the black bodywork to an ice white to better suit his preference. 7.2.1

Marquis:

"Shots fired, shots fired."

(Kolya's minor mishap with a car thief)

One day at the garage, Kolya gets an alert from his phone stating that his car's silent alarm system has been triggered. Without 2nd thought, Kolya grabs "The Jarek" (4.2.1) and heads outside, shouting at the thief to get down, pointing the gun at him. Surprisingly, the suspect runs and Kolya immediately recognises the man as someone who had previously assaulted Kristina, also ramming her car at high speeds, sending her into a wall. This forces Kolya to believe that the theft here is personal rather than just a coincidence. 7.3.1

After a short foot-chase, Kolya unloads a few shots into the thief, making sure that he is who he had suspected, and unloading a final shot into the back of his head out of adrenaline, panic and sheer madness at the thief - also in order to avoid the risk of the loss of his reputation, as just like his brother Jarek told him, "dead men can't talk". 7.3.2

Chapter 8:

"Nikolai, you're going to work yourself to death"

(Grand re-opening of VM, and a buildup of paranoia.)

A few weeks pass after Kolya's unfortunate incidents and purchases, and Kolya's boredom starts taking over. As a result, he decides to re-open his dealership, Volkov Motors in order to give himself something to do. Unfortunately, this action of his wasn't supported by most of his friends as he is already known to work too much, and the addition of another business isn't likely to impact well on Kolya's mental health. 8.1.1

The conversation between Kolya, and his garage manager Steph:

974sUuc.png

A few days after, Kolya's dealership is already open and running out of Mirror Park, turning over a steady profit and giving Kolya a distraction from real life. Due to the dealership being located in open terrain with not many routes for escape, Kolya's paranoia starts building as he is constantly reminded by the previous attacks at his other businesses and the death of his 2 brothers. 8.1.2

VolkovMotors 2 days after opening:

"The more you distance yourself from reality, the smaller distance you traverse"

(A step to achieving more than money)

Stress perseveres as Kolya tries to keep control of his businesses, often resulting in multiple sleepless nights where he has to catch up on work from days before. This results in a valuable lesson, that the one critical part of life is enjoying the happiness brought around by it, rather than drowning out the negative aspects with more negativity. 8.2.1

This shifts Kolya's perspective on what he wants to achieve and pushes him towards another hobby: exercise. In order to feel better about his decisions, Kolya realises that he needs to be successful in many different aspects, not only work - which until then was his first priority. Due to this decision, Kolya brings it upon himself to become a more active person and start exercising - bringing a whole new meaning to his definition of happiness. 8.2.2

Chapter 9:

"It wasn't making enough money anyways..."

(Kolya sells his club, buys a house, impulse purchase #7)

After Kolya becomes aware that sometimes less is more, he decides to sell his most inefficient source of income, Out of Towners (5.3.1). This meant that Kolya could afford a new house. His location of choice? Right in the middle of mirror park. This decision meant that he could finally move out of Kristina's condo in Hawick. 9.1.1

2600 Bridge Street:

"Every silver lining has a cloud"

(A return to how life should be)

After a few weeks of peace, Kolya has started to bring his senses back to normal, appreciating his work and prioritising making himself happy in non-materialistic ways, still enjoying running and exercise. Continuing his life in a normal way in which he psychologically benefits, Kolya fell blind to what was going on outside of his view. 9.2.1

A casual Sunday run:

xNGv4QW.png

"For fuck's sake Kris!"

(A close suicide)

As Kolya comes back from his run, he notices Kristina's car parked in his driveway, heading inside. After only finding Hiromi inside, Kolya walks upstairs to find Kristina passed out on her bedroom floor with an empty pack of anti-depressants laid beside her. Going into a slight panic, Kolya follows his instincts. 9.3.1

An attempt to save a life:

After removing most of the drugs from Kris' system, Kolya drives her to the hospital where he and Hiro await news from the doctor anxiously, unsure to whether Kris will make it due to the excessive amount of Fluoxetine in her system. 9.3.2

Anxious waiting in silence:
