New and need help

So i just joined the server and i dont see anyone playing, no npc cars or npcs and im just confused, my /ooc when i type nothing pops up?

Everything is correct, there are no NPC, because our computers would explode if there were. And use /b, not /ooc

There are no NPCs/NPC Vehicles on Rage or at least, GTA:W. GTA:W is the has the most pop out of any Text RP server in English on Rage too. If you do /online, it'll tell you how many people are on.

 

Mostly for RP hubs you should look out for hotspots + business openings, you can also join a faction and RP with the people there. RP isn't sparse, nor concentrated - however it isn't as diffuse across every area - you don't need to look far to find RP.

Like the previous poster said, there is rp going on, but it takes a little effort to find.

 

Make sure you check out the player guides if you haven't already.  They have a lot of useful info about the chat commands and so on.

 

Use the /help command in game to bring up more info.  Explore that menu because it's very useful.

 

Look for green announcements for open businesses.  When a business is open, no matter what it is, go there just to meet people and check it out.  You can find it by a green icon on the map or by calling the number listed with the ad and asking where the business is.

 

You enter businesses by pressing the Y key.  There's supposed to be a blue or green circle on the ground in front of the door.  When something like "Press Y to enter this building" pops up in your chat, you're standing in the right place.

 

Make sure you have cash on you, because many businesses have a cover charge of $400 to $500, and drinks cost money.  If you have $3000 you should be fine.

 

If you don't have a phone, get one at the phone shop near Vespucci Beach.  The icon on the map is supposed to be a phone with a keypad, but it kind of looks like a rectangular building.

 

If you don't have a car, buy a bicycle to get around.  You can buy a bicycle at the bicycle stand at the end of Vespucci Beach near the channel / marina.

 

If there aren't any businesses open, try going to the strip mall in Mirror Park or walking around in Strawberry and Rancho.  You may get robbed, so don't carry any cash and have only a cheap phone.

 

If you get robbed, be reasonable about it.  We're a heavy rp server, and often players will take the fall for the sake of the rp instead of try to 'win' the interaction.  Doing that goes a long way toward keeping the server from falling into a cesspool of deathmatching (killing people for flimsy reasons, a bannable offense).  Think of it this way:  if they have you at a definite disadvantage, just go with and cooperate.  If not, see if you can get out of it.

 

Example:  Two guy try to rob you.  One guy has a pistol, another guy has a bat.  Take the fall on this one, because your character would reasonably get shot before he could run away or take both guys out.

 

Example:  One guy pulls a knife and tries to rob you.  Run like hell.

 

Example:  Two guys try to rob you, but they don't have any weapons.  Your guy has a knife.  If it were me, I'll pull my knife and try to fight them off.

 

If your character gets hurt, remember to rp it like it's a serious thing.

If you're willing to find people and start your roleplay hence you've read the guides mentioned above, I'd suggest you to check through the /ads (adverts/advertisements) done IG and attend. You'll certainly find a bunch of people.
