The Melanoma Death Squad are a fairly new white supremacist street gang which was started in the winter of 2006 by Caucasian American youths within the South Westeren slum of Vespucci. The Melanoma Death Squad have remained a small and exclusive group ever since their founding, and due to the large white populace within Vespucci-Del Perro, mostly operate underground. While they were started by members of the Blain County Skins and the El Burro Skins who migrated to Vespucci to start a new clique there, the street gang has drifted away from their None-Violent movement in favor of allying themselves with the Public Enemy Number 1 and the Nazi Lowriders in county jails, state prisons and out in the streets.

Due to their criminal activities as a street gang, coupled with their white power ideology, they are the permanent rivals of non-white street gangs within Southern LS which fall under the Blood, Crip and Asian Boyz banners. While the three gangs are still technically at war within the slums, the only thing which is preventing further bloodshed is a truce which was brokered throughout October - December 2008. Their only alliances with non-white street gangs in the slum includes the Sureño and 18th Street gang sets. But, these albeit shaky alliances only exist because of street gang politics which are directed by members of the Public Enemy Number 1 and the Nazi Lowriders who are incarcerated in the Los Santos County Jail.

The street gang is known for their strictly disciplined militant nature, where their social etiquitte is modeled after the military's.

The Melanoma Death Squad are well known for their usage of skater style clothing such as Thrasher and Obey surplus; members in private and in public routinely wear Vans. The Melanoma Death Squad also wear distinctive black shirt with MDS stitched across the upper back. While tattoos are not mandatory, many members of the street gang opt to get them; tattoos of the Dog Town logo, as well as its slogans are the most popular and most commonly documented by the Los Santos Police Department's Gang and Narcotics Division. In casual conversations, members of the street gang incorporate a heavy usage of white power slang.

Members of the street gang listen to white power rock music, and are involved in distributing leaflets and pamphlets for locally hosted white power rock concerts throughout Vespucci.

The Melanoma Death Squad are primarily involved with the production and distribution of hard drugs within the slum of Vespucci; amphetamine narcotics such as methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine are the most commonly made and sold hard drugs by the street gang. Other criminal activities include the theft and subsequent sale of firearms, which are nabbed by the street gang's members in burglaries of housing project units, houses and automotive vehicles. Individuals of the street gang are free to commit any crime that they wish without notifying the shotcallers; these crimes mostly include assault, robbery, armed robbery, burglary and car theft. Hate crimes against non-whites are also carried out, mostly as a part of lengthy initiations of new members into the street gang; an aspiring member must participate in at least one racially-motivated beating or murder against a non-white minority in order to obtain membership into the street gang. Rarely will a racially motivated hate crime be carried out by the street gang's members just for the sake of it; and, when it does happen, it typically involves a vicious attack on an African American, Latino American or Asian American man or woman which may potentially involve the victim dying from being horrifically beaten.

Despite their involvement in the production and distribution of hard drugs throughout Vespucci, the Melanoma Death Squad have a rigidly enforced anti-drug policy which forbids its members from consuming soft drugs, psychedelic drugs and hard drugs. Sex crimes such as rape, attempted rape, consensual sex with significantly younger minors and child sexual abuse is strictly forbidden within the street gang's ranks; members in the past who have indulged in one or more of the aforementioned heinous acts have been murdered for breaking this rule. Even though members of the Public Enemy Number 1 and Nazi Lowriders are involved with sex crimes, they are begrudgingly allied with them regardless due to the benefits it brings them while incarcerated and out in the streets.

The Melanoma Death Squad and their connections to other Skinheads street gangs as well as legitimate cliques throughout the rest of San Andreas, as well as within other districts of Los Santos, have became more loose and distant since the early 2010s. This distancing of connections has been done in favor of allying themselves with Public Enemy Number 1 and the Nazi Lowriders. When the first Melona Death Squad members were incarcerated for misdemeanors and felonies in state prisons located throughout San Andreas beginning in 2012, they voluntarily associated themselves with members of Public Enemy Number 1 and the Nazi Lowriders. While the Public Enemy Number 1 and Nazi Lowriders do not necessarily share the same white power ideology that the Melanoma Death Squad do, they formed an alliance within state prisons and county jails for means of protection in state prisons and county jails, as well as for benefits such as getting sold narcotics and firearms in the streets. The Melanoma Death Squad are also used as muscle by the Public Enemy Number 1 and Nazi Lowriders throughout all of San Andreas to enforce the collection of extortion, drug, firearm and illegal gambling debts, as well as to perform hired hits against rival street gang members.

The Melanoma Death Squad have ordered and continue to order it's members to join the United States Armed Forces, and always the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps, so that they may be indoctrinated with military discipline and deportment. They're also ordered to only go into combat arms trades such as the infantry, armored, artillery and combat engineering so that their tactical skills and abilities can be passed down to members in the streets upon their discharges from the military. As a result, there are current members of the Melanoma Death Squad who are veterans of the War in Afghanistan as well as the Iraq War. These members have traditionally been placed at the head of the street gang's firearms trafficking operations and they lead almost all of the major armed robberies and armed burglaries, the latter which are tactically modeled after urban combat and house-to-house fighting operations.

The Melanoma Death Squad are very selective with their recruitment and are very active in recruiting local white youths in high schools, Davis and Strawberry. Other whites are recruited from the streets of El Burro, Brouge Avenue and Jamestown. While the average age for a recruit of the street gang is sixteen, and is rarely lower than that, youths as young as fourteen years old have been initiated into the street gang in the past. Most members of the street gang, who get initiated, however, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty five. Recruitment of youths under the age of sixteen is prohibited by the street gang as of 2015. For a youth to be initiated into the street gang, they must undergo a probation period where they sell either soft drugs, psychedelic drugs and/or hard drugs in the streets, or alternatively, stolen and illegally modified firearms; this probation period typically lasts for six months to one full year, and the actual initiation consists of leading a racially motivated hate crime against a non-white person found in the streets, alleyways or housing project units.

There are approximately 60 active members of the Melanoma Death Squad within Vespucci and surrounding slums, well over half of whom are boys and young men; there are only 13 girls and young women in the street gang. Out of these 60 people, 27 of them are currently incarcerated on varying sentences in county jails and state prisons throughout San Andreas. An additional 7 are currently serving in the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps within the continental United States, Germany, South Korea and Japan. The remaining 25 are actively gangbanging in the streets of Vespucci and to a lesser extent, other slums such as Strawberry and Davis.
