TEXTILE CITY - At approximately 4:00, on the morning of Tuesday, February the 12th 2019, the Los Santos Police Department were notified of a concern for welfare for a member of the Los Santos Fire Department.

On arrival at the Mirror Park Rail-yard off Little Bighorn Avenue on the Downtown/La Mesa border, after a search in which Officers discovered her motorcycle, Firefighter Anna Degtyarev, aged 29, who had been off duty at the time, was found with one Gun Shot Wound to the head. It appeared as if she'd been knocked off her motorcycle before being shot. She had been wearing her helmet which likely saved her life.
LSPD officers rendered immediate aid, until members of the Los Santos Fire Department with Rescue Intermediate 1 arrived at the scene. An AED was utilised amongst other life-saving methods before Firefighters stabilised Degtyarev and transported her at 4:20 to an area hospital's Intensive Care Unit for immediate surgery where she was put under a medically induced coma.

No offenders were located or arrested at the scene. The situation around, leading up to and cause of the incident, which occurred only two weeks after the fatal shooting of respected Fire Captain, Jack Wolfsbane, is still under thorough investigation by the Los Santos Police Department. It's unknown at this time if the shooting is linked to the shootings in Chamberlain Hills in the past several weeks in which Fire Department members have come under-fire on several occasions.

Firefighter Degtyarev, of Fire Station 7, known for her work towards expanding the Fire Department's Maritime & Water Rescue capabilities, has since awakened from her coma and has begun on the road to recovery, spending time with friends and colleagues outside of her work.

All of us here at the Los Santos Fire Department wish her the best with her recovery, we look forward to seeing her back to her normal self soon and hope that the ones responsible are found, held accountable and brought to justice.

If anyone has any more information, please contact the Los Santos Police Department's Detective's Bureau, or by calling the department on the non-emergency number.
For more information regarding the incident and investigations, please contact the LSPD's Media Relations & Community Affairs Division (MRCAD) who have provided us with some information in regards to this incident.
